Saving the World, Saving Hearts
Chapter 54 of my crossover story, enjoy.

Activating the Device – Part 1
Exiting the lab, the Avengers stopped, along with their families and loved ones. For there, around them, were several infected, being led by a pair of Demodogs and a Demogorgon.
"Guess they were looking for us." Max muttered.
White Tiger stepped up. "Well they found us and they're not gonna stop us. Let's go guys."
The Avengers nodded and everyone was already prepared to fight while their loved ones and families all gathered around to guard the weapon, with Holly doing the actual protecting of the weapon which she held carefully, the others forming a shield around her. Seeing a chance to try and make this quick, if only due to the dangers of what they had to do and limited amount of time they had to try and accomplish it before they got swarmed. Luckily, Jane was able to provide help with the Demodogs and Demogorgon, using her powers to damage and finally destroy the creatures while the Avengers themselves were subduing and taking down the infected humans, working them down to the ground so Spider-Boy could web them down so that they couldn't make any further moves.
"Alright, I think we've got them all." Spider-Boy said at last as he webbed down the last one.
"Right, we better hurry, get to the tower before more show up." Black Panther remarked.
The others nodded in agreement.
Hurrying onwards, the Avengers came up with a plan and so, with Spider-Boy taking Holly and the weapon, the remaining Avengers taking their loved ones, while Kelsey led the way for the remaining family members and Jess who were getting into their cars, ready to head for Oscorp in the Upper East Side, a long and dangerous journey. Luckily, with Spider-Boy, along with Holly, in the lead, they were able to take note of the locations of any concentrated masses of enemies and direct the others out of the way as they weaved through the streets. Whenever they were faced with single enemies in the way they simply subdued said enemy and moved on.
"This may be bad...they might end up following us." Will remarked. "Are we...hopefully we'll get there soon."
Spider-Boy reassured his dad. "It's alright, we are, just take a left turn then at the next intersection, turn right and we'll be there."
They did so and soon they all regrouped, having finally reached Oscorp Tower.
"Alright, we're here now...but we've gotta get to the roof." Blue Bullet remarked.
"Not gonna be easy for all of us." Steve muttered.
Luckily Batgirl wasn't worried. "Don't worry, we've got this all figured out, working together we'll get up there...the easy part is, due to this incident, even the people in the tower are all gone."
Seeing their chance they got to work, even something as simple as the elevator taking them to the roof was a viable option for them. So finally, after some careful work and keeping an eye out to make sure they were not going to be attacked, they made it to the roof.
Once on the roof they soon saw the new satellite that Dr. Connors had mentioned.
"Alright, here we go, it's all here. I just hope everything doc told us has worked out." Black Panther remarked.
The others nodded and got to work setting the weapon up, attached to the satellite as they had been told and to ensure that everything was prepared and in the end if was ready. The only thing left now was to activate the Anti-Symbiote Machine and, they hoped, flush the Symbiotes and Upside-Down Monsters out of New York.
"Alright, we ready for this guys?" Spider-Boy asked.
The others all nodded and that was when he realized they were all actually looking at him.
"Huh, guys?"
White Tiger spoke up. "You're our leader, Spider-Boy, you're the one who's got us this far and this isn't the first time you've pulled us through so many problems. You've made us stronger, you should do the honours."
"Wait what, no guys...I can't...you know what I've done, the Symbiote." Jake stammered.
Jessica then cut in. "It should be you, it has to be you...You're not as bad as you're thinking, we've spoken about this, remember."
"Yeah, but…" Jake began, biting his lip under his mask.
He saw the proud looks of his fathers and the others were all sending him encouraging looks, meanwhile Jessica continued to encourage him.
"You had a moment of weakness, but you overcame it, you're stronger for it and thanks to you leading us, we are all stronger now." She paused and then added. "It's up to you and we're all here for you, go for it."
Jake looked from Jessica, to his parents and then to the others, he couldn't help but smile, humbled by their faith in him.
Taking a deep breath he approached the machine and was ready to begin. He reached out to the switch only then it happened, something took hold of him and the others were startled and worried as Jake froze. They rushed forwards upon seeing that there was something not right, but then they touched him they all gasped as they found themselves in what could best be described as Jake's inner mind as he was being locked in an internal struggle.
