What's this? A snip from someone OTHER than Masterweaver!

Let's welcome CipherofAlchemy, who once kidnapped Vilmis and threw him into the Mass Effect version of Tyranny of King Washington, but that's a story for another day. For now, enjoy THIS snip!

APOCRYPHA: Not a scoop – by CipherofAlchemy

Aiora T'Masu was happy, she may have been a reporter no one paid much attention to, but that was sure to change soon! The earthers worked hard to keep a good public image despite using AIs, but she was about to wreck it!

"Mr. Vilmis," she began with her - future - award winning smile. "You were the first person from civilized space to visit earth. I understand there must have been a number of problems. Would you mind sharing your experience?"

The salarian, contrary to the fast-paced mannerisms typical to his race, slowly tilted his head, "Huh, besides the big stuff everyone's heard of by now, I guess language issues from the translator, there were a number of...interesting mistranslations." He chuckled. Aiora kept smiling and chuckled with him, even as she internally seethed, she didn't want happy or fun memories, just the stuff to get more readers!

"I suppose I had some trouble with food."

Her eyes widened and her grin grew sharper. This was something she could use!

"Would you mind explaining that?"

"Of course." He nodded, "They gave me money, and I could do whatever I pleased with it, but when I started to run low on money, I knew I had to ration it out and make some changes. That's why I started gardening actually."

"So you had to grow your own food in fear of going hungry?" This was it, a confirmation, a vague statement, or the slightest hesitation, and she would be golden!

Unfortunately for her, he immediately laughed, "Oh no, not at all. I just felt bad about using up resources and wanted to manage my own money. Besides, I found that gardening has become a very relaxing past time for me. Would you like to hear some benefits I've noticed?"

It was then that she noticed the salarian's smirk and she knew he knew she wanted to embarrass the terrans and he wasn't going to let that happen.

Inwardly, she fumed, she had wasted months of her life trying to track him down, only for him to intentionally waste her time for a laugh he'd probably share with one of those weirdos!
