Chapter 2: Prince Kiss

The Sky Tower was floating in the sky. Surrounded by some magical power, its tower shone brightly under the sun. The tower was made of crystals, pretty beautiful to those who gazed up at the sky. A nightmare for those who knew what's inside of it.

"So, what we got to do now is aim our keyblades towards the Sky Tower?" The King asked Riku to elaborate on it.

"Last time I did that with Sora, both of us successfully went inside in no time." Riku said, staring at his keyblade.

Mickey tried aiming his keyblade towards the tower, for a moment, but it didn't seem to have any effect. "Nothing happens…" The King withdrew his keyblade, pretty confused with the outcome.

Riku put his fingers on his lips, thinking. "Strange… It definitely worked the last time we went there…" For a moment, Riku's mind wandered to the other keyblade he and Sora were having.

"Could it be…?" Riku mumbled to himself.

"Is something the matter?" Mickey stepped forward, eyeing Riku in wonder.

"Yes, these keyblades of us…" Riku switched the keyblade in his hand. "The Mirage Split Keyblade!" He showed the King his half keyblade similar to Sora's half one. All of the sudden, the keyblade shines and Riku suddenly rises into the air. Surprised by the sudden pull, Riku grabbed Mickey's hand. The King happily nodded and both went up to the Sky Tower.

Their feet slowly descend on the hard sparkling crystal beneath their feet. Riku looked around. They were outside of the tower. They looked up and found out that they were standing before the large door, carved with echoing hearts. Touching the carved heart, Riku blinked, fully confused by the situation.

"Strange, the last time I went here, we immediately went inside the gate. It was like we're teleported inside. How come we're outside now?" Riku looked at his shining keyblade. The door was shining half of it as if resonating the keyblade.

"Why don't we try to push it open then?" Mickey step forwards, ready to push the door open. As soon as his hand touched the door, some kind of electric shock send him flying backwards. Riku's eyes widened, mouth aghast at the sight of a sudden surge of power sending his King flying.

"MICKEY!" Riku shouted. His body reacted before his mind, Riku jumped to catch the King in the air. He managed to catch him before Mickey fell off the tower. Riku smashed the tip of his keyblade on one of the crystal's chunks to steady their weight on the edge of the sky tower. Both of them looked up, Riku gasped, trying to manage the weight of two people. He was surprised when his keyblade suddenly went off from its dug surface and it magically made them float in the air. Heaving to breathe, he forgot that the keyblade was the one that magically sent them up flying to the Sky Tower.

Riku tried to stir the keyblade, balancing his foot in the air. He breathed in relief when both of them safely landed on the hard crystal surface. He let go of Mickey and the king stood on his own foot, rubbing the back of his head.

"Strange, it was having some kind of rejection. It throws me away." Mickey said and slowly looked up to the door.

Riku stared at the door. He doesn't quite understand it himself. The silver haired man looked down to the door handle for a moment. He slowly brought his hand up, lightly touching the handle with the tips of his fingers. It doesn't seem to have any side effects. "I can touch it without problem. This is strange…" Riku mumbled as he frowned.

Mickey stared at the door and to Riku's keyblade. "Look, your keyblade is shining non-stop. The door too."

Riku blinked. He traced the light on the door. "You're right. It shines but only half of it."

Mickey nodded. "Maybe it's because it was originally paired with Sora's keyblade. You two came here together last time. This tower must be related to your keyblades! That's why it suddenly appears!"

"If that's the case, then… I can't get in unless I have Sora's keyblades as well. This is tricky…" Riku sighed.

"Shall we go back and report to Master Yen Sid?" Mickey offered.

"Yes, let's go."

Master Yen Sid drummed his fingers against the wooden table. His mind was busy running. The King and Riku stared at each other before he went back to the Master.

"Only Sora can wield his keyblade. Maybe we should have waited for him to wake up…" There's a slight pause until Riku finally asks the question he had been wanting to ask as soon as he's back. "How's Sora's condition?"

Master Yen Sid shook his head. Riku's face turned worried.

"I'll check up on him for a moment." Riku said and walked outside the room without waiting for approval.

The King looked at him sad.

"Something must be done…"

"I think we're done here. No more Heartless." Sora grinned and swiftly swung his keyblade in victory.

"Yeah… Looks like it…" Riku said and sighed in relief. "Come on, let's go back and report this to Master Yen Sid."

"But seriously, this place looks so… Beautiful…" Sora stopped for a moment to look around the hall. "Hey, Riku. Why don't we roam around before going back?" Sora looked at Riku with a big grin.

Riku rolled his eyes. "No, we have to come back first. We can always come back here when we have some free time."

Sora pouted and followed his lover anyway. As soon as he walked out of the gate, some surge of power seemed to divide his soul and body. Sora's eyes widened when he saw his body walk out of the door. He opened his mouth to shout but no voice came out. He touched the invisible barrier on the entrance of the door only to get blown away. Hurriedly raised to his feet, Sora punched the entrance barrier. On the other side of the door, Riku was shouting at Sora's lifeless body. He jumped off the tower to catch unconscious Sora. Inside the tower, Sora reached out his hand before the door closed in front of his eyes.

Goofy and Donald looked at the entrance of the room. They smiled when they saw Riku enter.

"Good to see you come back safely, Riku!" Goofy said, giving his seat to Riku.

Riku smiled and nodded at him. "Thanks… He's… Not waking up, is he?"

"He doesn't budge an inch." Donald sighed.

Riku ruffled Sora's hair. A pain shot through his chest. Such an odd feeling, seeing him in the state. The cheerful and loud Sora was now bedridden like this.

"What can I do to make him wake up?" Riku whispered, eyes never leaving Sora's face.

"Perhaps a kiss from the prince himself." Goofy offered with a laugh. Donald laughed alongside him.

Riku chuckled, face a bit flushed by the remark. "If only things are as easy as that." He mumbled with a smile on his face. The silver-haired man leaned down and captured Sora's lips with his, kissing him open-mouthed. After a few moments, Riku pulled away and he watched Sora's face closely.

Nothing happens.

"See?" Riku snickered. His thumb caressed Sora's cheek.

As soon as he finished talking, some kind of light came out from Sora's slightly opened mouth, enveloping his whole body, before it burst into the air. The three of them gasped at the sudden burst of light.

The door swung open to have Roxas, the King and Ventus. As soon as they entered the room, all of them flabbergasted at the shining bubbles. "What happened?!" They exclaimed.

In front of them was a large bubble. They could see the Sky Tower. Riku slowly stood up, staring at the bubbles floating in the air with a half-opened mouth. Inside the bubble, they could see Sora, banging on the transparent barrier of the door. Riku's eyes looked down at Sora's lifeless body.

"But he-" Roxas's words were cut when Ventus raised his hand.

"Some part of him couldn't get out." Ventus mumbled, staring at the bubble that's getting thinner and thinner by the second.

"Some part of him is trapped inside the tower." Donald said, pointing at the lifeless Sora.

The bubble suddenly glowed brightly and emerged back in Sora's body.

"WE NEED TO SAVE HIM!" almost everyone said the word at the same time.
