Chapter 103 – Family Moment
Luke and Ines were downstairs, with the kids, while Han, Leia were still in Iris bedroom talking to their daughter and apologize to her about the mess that happened before.
They were sitting on one of the couches, while the fireplace gave a nice warm feeling to the room, and the Life Day Tree illuminated the room with its lights going on and off, which made Lukey happy and laughing while he ran towards the tree and then towards his parents, making them giggled at their toddler.
"We will have a big trouble when we need to take down the tree in when we reach Coruscant!" Ines said with her head resting in her husband shoulder, while he kept playing with a string of her hair with his left hand.
"That would be a big tantrum from him. Mark my words!"
"Do you think everything is okay now between them?" Ines asked, and Luke knew who she was talking about.
"Yes, I'm sure they are now!" he answered her, glaring at the two set of twins who were happy watching the book that Ani and Bail had about Naboo and had pictures of their grandmother, during the time she was Queen of Naboo.
Then they heard someone coming down the stairs and they all smiled when they saw Ruwee with Jobal and Amidala helping him to come down and sit on one of the couches.
"Hey look who finally came out from the bedroom after a week?" Ines smiled at him.
"That I can thank to them, cause if I could I would have being out of that bed a long time ago!" he replied glaring at both women.
"We would not let you out until the fever was all gone, which happened yesterday. And you only out for a while. Tomorrow you already can have breakfast with us here." Amidala told looking at her father.
"They are so stubborn!" he said.
"Grandfather, we needed to make sure that you were fully recovered. You are not young as you used too!" Luke said kissing the top of Ines head, who had hers on his left shoulder.
"You really are your mother's son!" he told him. "Stubborn too!"
Alli stood up from the floor and looked at her great grandfather putting her hands on her hips.
"You are also stubborn, you are old and need to be good!"
"To whom you are calling old, young lady?" he said pulling her towards him tickling the 5 years old.
Ani stood up and walking towards his grandmother with the book on his hand.
"Look grandma. It is you!" he said showing her the book.
Amidala grabbed and smiled when she saw the page where there was a picture of her, when she just became Queen of Naboo.
"Where did you get this?" Jobal asked glaring at the picture too.
"Yolla, gave to us," Bail replied. "Grandma looks so beautiful!"
"This brings memories!" Amidala smiled.
"Why your face was all painted?" Padmé asked sitting next to her grandmother.
"It is tradition that the Queens of Naboo had their faces painting in white with some red dots on it," Amidala tried to explained her granddaughter that.
"You look young!" Ani said.
"Well that's because your grandmother was only 14 years old when she was elected Queen," Jobal explained to him. "She was the youngest Queen ever elected at the time."
"And a very good one. One of the best they had!" Ruwee said making Amidala frown at him.
"Father, come on. Naboo had very good Queens, before and after my reign!"
"But none of them were asked to continue to rule, after the 8 years of reign. It was because you were good. After all you stopped an invasion and it was thanks to you that we are now close to the Gungans. That never happened before!"
"Well I had the help of some good Jedi friends too!" Amidala smiled looking at Luke and Ines, who knew whom she was talking too.
"I think you look pretty and I love your dresses, grandma!" Alli said making Amidala laughed.
"Someday I will be Queen of Naboo too, like you!" Padmé said.
"Who knows. Maybe you will. There would be nice to have another Padmé as Queen of Naboo. And I'm sure you would be a good one too!" Jobal said smiling.
Looking around and not seeing Han and Leia, Amidala glare at her son and daughter in law.
"Where are Han and Leia? Already in bed?"
"I think they are still talking to Iris, there was a little problem earlier!" Ines told and then explained what happened to them.
After hearing everything, Amidala nod.
"Iris is a very good girl and very wise and mature. Maybe with this they can see they can trust her to do wise choices!" she said.
Then Lukey walked towards her mother and raised his arms, making Ines picked her toddler and gave him a tight hug, smiling when the 19 months old, rest his head on her chest and started sucking his right thumb.
"Well I think this is a clue it is time for bed," Luke smiled at his youngest son.
"Yeah, we will stay just for a few minutes," Amidala said. "Goodnight!"
Standing up, Luke and Ines looked at the kids, including Bail and Ani.
"Come on you two. Let's take you to your parents, cause it is your bed time too!"
Nodding, they all kiss the adults a goodnight kiss and they all head to the second floor.
Moments later:
Luke and Ines were already in bed, laying under the warm covers, thinking about everything that happened between their niece and her parents.
"I'm glad that in the end everything end well!" Ines said snuggling even more into Luke warm arms, that were tightly around her.
"Well at least when it happen to us, we know how to handle now!"
"To us?" Ines looked at her husband. "I doubt Ben will ever do something like that and Lukey it is too young for us to know how he would act when the grows up."
"But then we have two other kids then we know how troublemakers they are!"
Looking at each other, they spoke at the same time
"The Twins!" they said and laughed after that.
"Well it was a long day and it is cold, so maybe we should get some sleep!" Ines said making Luke looked at her right away.
"Sleep? I think you forgot our conversation earlier when we were interrupted by the yells of our niece!"
Giggling, Ines glare at him.
"I don't remember, what conversation?"
"Maybe this will help," and rolling on top of her, Luke kissed her deeply, letting the night continue while they loved each other.
This was a nice moment. Do you think Padmé will become Queen of Naboo, like her grandmother?
