Chapter 4 -

And we're back!

Yuuki Akira: Thanks for the support! I'm glad you like it! And you're right: I do have plans for that moment ;). For the room arrangement, I hope what I have written answers that. Some shenanigans will come, I'll make sure of that. When it comes to pairings, I have something in mind, but I want to be careful not to force or rush it. Again, 'preiciate the review mate!

Disclaimer: I don't own League of Legends, Riot games does. I don't own RWBY, Rooster Teeth does.

With initiation complete and teams formed, the students were given access and directions to their dorms. Those who were worn out from the morning were quick to find their rooms, looking forward to well deserved rest.

As for team RWBYS (the added 'S' was very convenient) and JNPR, the two groups had decided to unpack their luggage, given how they did have a lot of it.

"Here we are! Our soon-to-be home sweet home." Ruby said, opening the door and entering their surprisingly spacious dorm. Typically rooms were smaller, but given their larger team, they were given a significantly bigger room (or so they were told).

In it were five beds, pressed against the far wall. Each bed was accompanied by a small wooden dresser, leaving very little space for moving furniture along that side of the room. The far wall also held two windows, which were currently covered by curtains.

On the opposite side of the dorm were two chairs and desks, with empty shelves above each workspace. To one side of the room was a single door, which led to a luxurious bathroom. On the other side was a bookshelf and another door, which housed a wide and deep walk-in closet.

As everyone looked around the room, Ruby zipped to the center, pointing at her teammates. "Alright team! Weiss, Blake, Yang, Sett…uhhh, where's Sett?" Glancing around, the only male member of their team was, in fact, nowhere to be found.

Her partner rolled her eyes. "He told us he was going to get his luggage, remember?" Weiss reminded her, a bit peeved that Ruby already forgot.

"Oh. Why? I thought it was supposed to be brought to our rooms for us."

"He said something about wanting to do it himself." Yang answered, shrugging. She didn't really get it either.

"Well, we might as well start unpacking in the meantime." Blake pointed out, warily eyeing the copious amounts of bags and boxes piled up in front of them.

"Right! On that note." Ruby enthusiastically declared, pointing at their stuff. "Operation 'make ourselves at home' is a go!"

Over the course of the next several minutes, clothes were folded, posters were plastered, and books were shelved (Blake let out a quiet breath, grateful that no one noticed her collection of literature). In no time at all, the place was given a personal touch, each person having done their share of decoration. Except one.

"Huh. I thought we'd take up a lot more space than this." Yang thought out-loud. While there was enough walking space to get around, the room did feel a little cramped. Blake nodded in agreement.

"Yea. I'm not sure if there's enough room for Sett." That was a good point actually. If he had half as much stuff as someone like Weiss did, there was no way it'd all fit.

Stumped for a few moments, silver eyes suddenly lit up in realization.

"Well, if we need space, we could make bunk beds!" Before they could explore that option further, the room door opened.

Poking his head through, Sett whistled as he took in the state of the room. "Seems a bit cozy in here." He'd never seen so many belongings packed into a single room before.

Ruby, of course, didn't seem to mind. It just gave the team leader an excuse to follow through with her awesome idea. "That's ok! We can make room if you need it." To her surprise, Sett shook his head.

"Nah, I won't need it." Before anyone could ask what he meant, he walked through the door. To their surprise, he wasn't carrying any bags, boxes, or suitcases. Instead, the only thing he was holding was an ornate picture frame.

.

.

.

"Wait… that's your luggage? That's all you brought to Beacon?" Weiss asked incredulously.

Sett blinked. "Uh, yea. I travel light."

The heiress still managed to connect the dots in her baffled state. "I see. It must be a very valuable possession then."

"Mhm."

"Can we see it?" Ruby asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

With some hesitation, he handed the frame to the girl. "Just be careful with it, alright?" Ruby nodded as she gently took the portrait, with the rest of the girls leaning in to get a closer look.

.

.

.

'Woah.'

In the photograph was a beautiful woman, a peaceful expression gracing her features. She had an unblemished and fair complexion and long white hair, well kept and straight. Blending in with the hair were a pair of black-tipped ears, flattened at the scalp.

While everyone had their own thoughts, no one could deny that this woman was striking.

Yang looked up, wearing an interested look. "She's quite the looker. Who is she?" Maybe it was his sister? It could be his girlfriend too.

Sett just smirked. "That's my mama." He casually stated, stifling a chuckle as his teammates gawked in disbelief.

"What!?"

"But she looks so young!"

"I can see the resemblance… sort of."

"Hey, what can I say? I got all my good looks from her." Beckoning for the frame back, he placed it on his dresser, failing to notice one of his teammates had remained silent during the reveal.

Unbeknownst to Sett, the family connection had stuck out to the ice queen, who was shocked into silence at the revelation. The fact that one of her teammates was a faunus was… unsettling, to say the least.

"So… you're a f-"

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait!"

Yang shouted, cutting the heiress off. "That can't be all you brought to Beacon. What about your bathroom utilities? Your clothes? Your school supplies?" Sett froze at that.

"... Oh." Rubbing his head in embarrassment, face tinged with pink. "I, uh, may have lost track of those." Yang facepalmed at that.

What went unsaid was how he forgot them on the airship when he arrived at Beacon.

It's not his fault he was distracted with appreciating the sights around him.

"You 'lost track' of your essentials?" Blake deadpanned. Before he could try to explain himself, knocking at the door cut into the conversation. Taking the chance to stall, Sett quickly crossed the room and opened the door.

On the other side was the whole of JNPR, who had just finished unpacking themselves. Oblivious to what just transpired, Jaune waved at them.

"Hey guys! The airship's gonna take off in a bit. Wanna grab dinner with us?" Sett just blinked at him until he remembered what he was talking about.

Every school year, many recent initiates often expressed a common desire to visit the city one last time before classes started. Those with adequate wealth arranged transport for themselves, while others pooled their resources together to do the same. This was a problem because too many aircraft were usually called in, crowding the airspace around the academy.

And so, the headmaster took it upon himself to arrange an airship after every initiation to carry students to the city, with the ship returning at nightfall.

Sett shrugged "I'm game. How bout y'all?" Looking at each of his teammates, unanimous agreement was shared. "I can do a little shopping afterwards," he muttered.

"Can we go there? Please? I reeeallly really really wanna!"

"We should ask if the others want to go, Nora."

"Why? Why would anyone say no?"

"Maybe some people don't want pancakes."

"But Reeeeen! Pancakes are AMAZING!"

Currently, the stoic member of JNPR was patiently listening as his friend continued to preach about the 'amazingness' of pancakes. Shaking his head, Sett wondered how the two polar opposites were best friends. It seemed all the poor boy did was make sure Nora didn't get too carried away (which she almost always did, despite his intervention).

But hey, he shouldn't be one to talk. He never thought he'd be best friends with a blind monk, but life sometimes throws curve balls like that.

Sitting across from the unlikely duo was the rest of their team. Knowing he was in for a rough ride, Jaune was more prepared this time around. The incarnation of motion sickness held a barf bag in his hands, his face growing greener by the minute. At his side was Pyrrha, who was offering suggestions from her scroll to help cope with his 'common' problem.

"How about looking outside? It says here that 'focusing on a stationary object in the distance' might help."

"Ok, I'll try- hmph! F-Forgot we were pretty high up. Did I mention I have a fear of heights?"

"Oh dear…"

Even though none of them had worked so far, it was the thought that counts.

Sitting at a safe distance away was the rest of Sett's team, each absorbed in their own activity. Ruby was blasting music in her headphones, reading a weapons magazine to pass the time. The pit brawler made a mental note to ask the girl for weapons advice if, or when, he needed it.

Yang was chatting with a few other students, but it looked like she was slowly getting bored of the conversation.

Blake was quietly reading a book, paying no mind to the social interaction around her.

Weiss was pretty much doing the same thing as the team's bookworm: reading something on her scroll and ignoring everyone else. Though, every now and then Sett caught the heiress staring at him through the glass's reflection. Every time he turned his head to look at her however, she instantly went back to using her scroll. 'Weird, but whatever.' It probably wasn't a big deal.

As for the pit fighter himself, he was standing a few benches away, leaning against one of the airship's many observation windows. Even though he'd already done this before, the Runeterran still deeply enjoyed taking in the scenery as they flew. On top of the forests and landscape, the novelty of having this kind of view from the sky would never get old for Sett.

Not to mention, the beauty of the greenery below him sort of reminded him of home.

Home. The pit brawler wondered what's happened since his sudden disappearance. His momma was definitely worried sick about him. He hated putting her through this, but there was nothing he could do except hope for a miracle. At least he had someone he trusted to look after her while he was gone.

And what about the pits? He was sure his missing presence did not go unnoticed: after all, he was the crowd favorite. Without their chosen champion, they'd lose interest in the arenas, hurting the pit masters' collective pockets. As for his competition, they were most likely relieved that he was gone.

Sett couldn't blame them though. He wouldn't want to fight himself either.

But above all else, he'd give it everything up in a heartbeat; the money, the fame, hell even his powers if it meant he could go home.

He felt an aching deep in his chest.

"Enjoying the view?" A voice asked, drawing the half-vastayan out of his inner musings. Glancing to his side, he saw his blonde teammate approach him. Having finished her dull conversation, Yang had decided to spend time with her only friend that wasn't too occupied, hoping to quell her boredom.

"You could say that, yea." He wistfully said, sighing. "It reminds me of home."

Yang slightly raised her brow at that. "Oh? Are you from around here?"

"Nope. I'm not from any of the kingdoms, actually." Sett paused, carefully recalling his fabricated background. "I'm from a little island called Ionia. It's pretty isolated from any major power." That was true: there was a good distance between Ionia and Valoran, the closest continent on Runeterra.

Of course, Yang didn't know that. "Isolated, huh? What's it like over there?" She asked, interest piqued at learning about the secluded, unheard-of location.

"Well, there's not much technology there. It's got nothing on Vale, let alone a place like Atlas." Sett rubbed his chin. "But there's plenty of wildlife and plants, so it's not so bad."

Yang's eyes widened for a split second, before a sly smile broke out. "I never thought a guy like you would be a nature-lover," she teased. The big guy was quickly teaching her to not judge a book by its cover.

"Well what can I say: I'm one of a kind." He said, grinning a confident grin. "But yea, there's all kinds of critters; some of them are as big as a bullhead. Besides that, the weather's almost always nice year-round. Food's pretty great too: all kinds of cuisine around the place." That being said, nothing was as good as his mama's home cooking.

Man, what he would do for some of her-

His teammate hummed in thought. "Sounds like a pretty peaceful place to live." A little too peaceful for her tastes, but she wasn't one to judge. Maybe those large animals were the aggressive kind. Besides, other than the apparent lack of action, it didn't sound like the worst place to be.

"Well, it's got its fair share of problems." Which was true, once you considered the widespread discrimination and intolerance, as well as the other dangers of the land. "But, home is home, ya know?"

"Fair enough." Yang said, agreeing with him on that. To each their own, right? "Speaking of which, what brought you all the way out to Vale? You sound kinda homesick to me." Sett pursed his lips at that.

"Well… my ma and I aren't exactly poor, but we're by no means rich. There aren't many, uh, legitimate ways to make a decent living in Ionia." Even though that was true, he couldn't care less about legitimacy. That's why he became a pit fighter: lots of easy to earn coin (for him, at least) through large amounts of prize fighting. "When I heard about how profitable being a huntsman could be, I made it my goal to get into the business. And since Vale was the closest kingdom, I ended up choosing to come to Beacon."

Yang nodded in understanding. Although there were plenty of other, more noble, reasons to take up the profession, doing it solely for the money was by no means an invalid motivation. It was still a job, after all.

"The money is pretty nice. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to kicking ass and taking names too." She smiled, just thinking about it. Not only would she get to fight monsters and look good while doing it, but she'd be getting paid for it too! What more could she want in life?

Sett grinned. "Cracking some skulls does sound pretty sweet." Bashing heads and muscling his way to the top: he'd done it before and he wouldn't have it any other way.

"Right? That's what I'm saying!" Yang agreed, happy to have met someone who was on her wavelength. While not exactly surprising, given how they did share a number of similarities, it seemed that they shared a kindred spirit.

Good to know…

On the other hand, Sett's line of thought had taken a darker turn. He hated lying to his friend like this, just as he'd done with Jaune. Even though they had only met the day before, he got along pretty well with the happy-go-lucky girl.

Same went for Jaune.

And Ruby.

And Blake.

And-well, the jury was still out for Weiss, but he didn't want to ruin his friendships or chance for friendships with a few lies he didn't even want to tell.

Most of him hated telling half-truths, but ultimately he knew that it was the best course of action. Telling the full truth would only make him look crazy, and he'd like to avoid ostracization if he could. But using a complete lie wasn't practical either, because no matter how much he read on any one kingdom and its culture, he'd almost certainly fail to pass off as a local. He'd never be able to achieve a form of authenticity in the span of a couple days.

So, with the help of Ozpin and Glynda, Sett was given a suitably credible backstory. With a careful mix of truth and non-truths, the half-vastayan's story was mostly believable.

Of course, neither of the two pugilists were privy to the other's thoughts. Enjoying a comfortable silence, the two continued to absentmindedly stare out the viewport, until a voice called out to them.

"Hey Yang! Sett! " Ruby called out, waving to get their attention. "You guys coming?" Having failed to notice their arrival at Vale, the two were surprised to note nearly everyone had departed. The only person left besides their team leader was Pyrrha, who was helping an unsteady Jaune get to the exit.

Sett and Yang moved to leave the airship as well. "I don't know about you, but I'm starving. Not sure about everyone else though." Sett said, sweat dropping at Jaune's volatile state.

Yang smirked. "Who knows, maybe a meal is just what vomit boy needs."

"Hmph! I heard that!"

Turns out, a filling meal was well received all around (even by Jaune, who somehow still had an appetite). The fighting and running during initiation had left everyone rather ravenous, so everyone felt noticeably better after filling their stomachs.

And hey, who doesn't like breakfast for dinner?

Having chosen (at Nora's persistent request) to visit some place called UHOP, the two teams partook in an early evening meal, enjoying each other's company. Though, it seemed like Nora enjoyed the food more than anything. Sett couldn't blame her though: these pancakes really were amazing!

After what seemed like a dozen orders of that breakfast item (just how much could that girl eat?), team JNPR took their leave, dragging a near comatose Nora back to the airship. As they left, Jaune muttered something about making a stop somewhere to buy ginger, desperate for a motion sickness remedy. Ruby and Blake joined them, deciding to rest on the airship until they went back to Beacon. Today was an eventful day after all, so it was no surprise some of the students were somewhat burned out.

As for the rest of the five-man team, Sett was browsing in a quiet clothing store with Weiss and Yang, who were shopping for new clothes as well. Currently, the blonde was in a fitting room, while the other two examined the wares.

For the longest time, it was quiet. The store's lack of customers and ambient noise was highlighted by the lack of conversation from Weiss, who silently conducted her shopping.

While the quiet time shared with Yang was nice, this lack of noise was growing more and more uncomfortable by the minute. Not uncomfortable in the sense that there could be danger, but rather in the sense that someone was… apprehensive. And with the poorly concealed stares and glances he had been getting, Sett could guess who that troubled person was.

Just like he'd done on the airship, Sett just ignored it, thinking that Weiss would speak up if something was on her mind. This was a great time too, as they were essentially away from any prying eyes and ears. But on the contrary, the silence between them during the entirety of the evening proved otherwise.

Eventually, the pit fighter put his foot down. He couldn't stand this awkwardness anymore.

With little patience for beating around the bush, Sett stopped his shopping.

"Weiss." He waited until the girl looked at him. "What's wrong?" She rapidly blinked, startled at having been confronted so bluntly.

"Beg your pardon?"

"You've been acting weird ever since we left Beacon."

"E-Excuse me!?"

"Don't act like you haven't been staring and giving me looks all day." There was also not talking to him, as well as putting a hand on Myrtenaster whenever he walked past her.

Normally, Sett would've quipped about being used to the attention, but Weiss had rubbed him the wrong way one too many times.

To his growing irritation, she merely scoffed at that. "I'll have you know I've done no such thing!"

Ho boy, it was gonna be like that huh?

"Do you think I'm stu-!" He stopped, taking a calming breath. "Look, maybe you haven't, but it's easy to tell something's bothering you." He frowned, brow furrowed. "The sooner you get whatever it is off your chest, the better off you'll be."

For a moment, Weiss heavily considered telling him he was imagining things, that he had no right to accuse her of anything; let alone raise his voice at her. After all, they had only just met, so who was he to pry at her? It was discourteous! Rude!

But as much as she didn't want to admit it, he was right. She was upset with the majority of the last couple days.

So far, her time at Beacon had been maddening, with that buffoon Jaune and her dunce of a team leader being the main architects of her suffering. Nearly every encounter with both of them was aggravating: every single awful attempt to flirt and childish argument tore at her rapidly thinning patience. And then there was the fact that the headmaster had chosen Ruby to lead over her! Learning that one of her teammates was a faunus was just icing on the cake.

Being suddenly confronted while she was trying to enjoy one of her favorite activities was the last straw.

"It's just… you're a faunus!" She blurted out, frustration boiling over within.

'Oh.'

Sett slowly clenched a fist.

'So that's the problem.'

It took a great deal of self control to hold back the scathing words in his throat.

Memories of leering faces and burning words surfaced in his mind.

All pertaining to what he was.

He wanted to shut himself off from her. To show Weiss the hostility countless others had shown to him-the hostility she was showing him right now. It would be so easy…and it was probably the deserved course of action.

But he remembered how excited Ruby, the first person he'd met on Remnant, was to see him again at the academy.

He remembered how Blake had tried to help him unlock his aura, even though they'd only met the day before.

He remembered how Jaune had respectfully listened to his story within hours of meeting.

He remembered Yang going out of her way just to chat with him. Granted, they generally made jokes and flirted, but Sett believed she wasn't being malicious or false. He believed she was being genuine.

He believed they were all being genuine.

While others might've been hesitant to reach that conclusion so soon, Sett was confident he had a good enough judge of character at this point to be able to tell. He had to, otherwise he would've been fooled ten times over by people looking to take advantage of him back home.

It was those sincere interactions that, for reasons he couldn't fathom, encouraged him to give Weiss a chance. A chance so many people had given him here that scarcely anyone at home ever did. After all, he'd be a hypocrite if he judged her so harshly without learning more about her.

Having made up his mind, Sett opted for a neutral reply. "Technically I'm only half va-faunus." Despite his consistent history of people hating what he was, perhaps this interaction wouldn't turn sour to the point of no return.

"Half faunus?" Weiss parroted, blinking at the non sequitur.

Sett nodded, scowling as he spoke. "My old man's a human." To his confusion, Weiss stiffened when he said that.

"You say that like it's a bad thing." Weiss icily remarked, eyeing him warily. Images of similar, radical faunus flooded her mind. She got a stare in return until the pit fighter realized her misunderstanding.

"Oh, I got nothing against humans specifically. Faunus, humans, all of'em can be scum." That caught Weiss off guard. Crossing his arms, he continued. "I talk poorly about my pa 'cause he left me and my ma." Narrowing his eyes at a memory, he cracked his knuckles. "And it's been a long time."

With that little bombshell, Weiss was stunned for a moment. Out of all the things she thought she'd hear, him talking about his personal history was certainly not one of them. Wide eyed, the heiress quickly filled the growing silence. "... Oh! Well, I-I apologize for bringing up bad memories." The pit fighter waved his hand, signaling he didn't care.

With some hesitance, she continued. "But, if I may, what do you mean when you say faunus and humans can both be 'scum?'" She'd never heard of a 'half-faunus,' let alone a human-faunus union. Which made sense, given the general relations between the two races and the kingdom she grew up in.

"I mean just that. Anyone can be a piece of shit." Sett glanced to the side, distracted by his callous past. "Let's just say, ever since my pa left, My ma and I have been screwed over by faunus and humans." That was quite the understatement. Even so, it seemed Weiss understood what he was talking about.

"I… can empathize. To an extent" She sighed, fiddling with her weapon. "My life has also been made difficult by faunus. Sometimes by humans as well." She frowned at that. It seemed everyone had family issues…

Before she could further dwell on her own past, she was roused from her thoughts by a chuckle. "Seems like we're in the same boat then." Sett ran a hand through his hair. With what Weiss had just said, her behavior made more sense to the half-breed. It seemed like they both had to deal with their fair share of assholes growing up.

He huffed in amusement, before giving a half grin to the heiress. "How about we give each other the benefit of the doubt?" She blinked at the proposition, before a small smile broke out on her face.

"That sounds agreeable to me." She said, appreciative of the idea. Even with everything that had gone wrong so far, Weiss was pleased to have one thing go right. Thus, with the ice finally broken, the two spent the next few minutes enjoying the peaceful shopping experience.

Sett paused, hands buried within a rack of clothes.

"Wait a sec. Did my horns not give away me being a faunus?" Sett asked, incredulous. Surely they should have, right?

Weiss froze.

"..."

Without a word, she quickly made herself scarce, disappearing into the rows of clothes as she made her way to the safety of the changing rooms.

Shaking his head with a sigh, Sett turned his head to a seemingly random part of the store.

"You can come out, Yang." He held back a chuckle when he saw the look of disbelief pop through a rack of clothes.

"How'd you know?" He jabbed a thumb at the top of his head. "Stupid, frickin, super hearing." She grumbled, making her way to the brunette. "You knew I was there the whole time, didn't you?" The half smirk she saw was her answer.

"From initiation today, I can tell you're pretty capable. But you're sure as hell not subtle." He picked up a shirt, examining it.

"Whatever. Anyways, it wasn't just me, see?" She pointed out, relieved she wasn't the only one who missed the totally-not-obvious horns.

Sett rolled his eyes. "Like that makes it any better." He countered, eliciting a "yea, yea," as the two went back to shopping.

He glanced at Yang. "Thanks, by the way."

She raised an eyebrow at that. "For?"

"For what you did earlier. I noticed your little intervention in our room." Her eyes widened, not having expected anyone to pick up on that.

Quickly recovering, she smiled. "No problem, handsome." Her expression slowly became more serious. "I just didn't think that was the best place for that kind of conversation." Speaking of the conversation, Yang slowly lost focus as she recalled something that was mentioned earlier.

"Heh. You're smarter than you look."

"Yea… thanks." To Sett's puzzlement, Yang barely reacted to his light jibe. Shaking her head, the blonde cleared her throat with a cough. "Hey. Can I ask you something?" Seeing no reason to deny her, he grunted in affirmation.

Gathering her thoughts, Yang took a breath before carefully continuing. "Do you know why your dad left you?" She slightly winced when Sett stiffened at that, worried she struck a nerve.

But she was put at ease when her friend relaxed a moment later.

"Yes." He quietly said, a pensive look on his face. "I was told by some of his old buds." He clenched his fists, blood boiling at the truth he was given, as well as the pain that came with it.

He never wanted that pain to go away. It would always remind him that his old man deserved nothing.

"Have you… ever tried finding him? To hear what he has to say for himself?" She was starting to get more specific now, but her growing interest demanded just that.

"I used to think about doing that from time to time." Sett relaxed his hands. "But not anymore."

"Why's that?"

"Because it's not worth it." Sett crossed his arms, a conflicted look on his face. "Believe me, I'd love to beat him down if I ever find him. But searching could take weeks, months, or maybe even years." He shook his head. "I'm not gonna waste time finding someone I don't want in my life."

'If I can even get back to my old life.'

He quickly shoved that unwanted thought aside.

"That time can be spent doing stuff I like, with the people I like, ya know?" Yang slowly nodded.

"That makes sense, yeah…" She absentmindedly replied, her thoughtful gaze indicating her deep contemplation. Even though Sett's situation wasn't exactly like hers, what he said had given her plenty to think about.

From what Yang had understood, learning the truth about his dad seemed to anger the big guy, making a small part of her wonder if getting answers was worth it. He also made a good point about spending instead of wasting time: unlike money, it was something you couldn't get back once it was gone.

But the thing is, Sett knew why his dad left him, so he already had some closure. Yang, on the other hand, did not. She had no idea why her mo- why Raven had left, all those years ago. And if there's one thing Yang wanted from her birth mother, it's to hear what she has to say for abandoning her family.

Just then, a pair of footsteps approached them from the direction of the changing rooms. Weiss, who had just concluded her shopping, stopped in front of her teammates, drawing their attention.

"Are you two ready to go? We need to leave soon." Since they were in fact finished, the three students made their way to the register at the front.

"What's the rush Weissy? The airship doesn't leave for at least an hour." The heiress narrowed her eyes at Yang before responding.

"Well, if Mr. 'I travel light' here wants to get any supplies," the pit brawler's eyes dilated, having forgotten up until that moment. "He should do it now."

Somewhere, beyond the world of Remnant, a mighty being took a moment of its eternal existence to look upon the plane of mortals. It had been a few days since action had been taken: a blink of an eye from its perspective. But due to the recent series of events, not a single instance of time could be wasted, lest all was to be left to ruin. Thus, it had been occupied with doing all it could to prepare for the coming destruction.

Currently it was checking the progress of one of its many efforts. Probing the realm of man, the being's vision began to focus…

'All I'm saying is, it does sound kinda cool. And it's smart.'

'Yea! What Sett said. Who else agrees?'

'I do!'

'Me.'

'Well, I think we should have a vote!'

'Weiss, you're the only one who doesn't want bunk beds. That was the vote.'

Satisfied with what it had seen, the being retracted its presence. Although it did not fully understand what it had watched, the powerful entity was still pleased to learn its chosen one had quickly made allies. That was good, very good.

He would need them if he was to succeed. Or survive.

Not gonna lie, this took longer than I thought it would. Writing out original scenes is harder than I thought. That being said, the next chapter should come out faster. I hope that let's y'all know what I'm writing about next ;).

Anyways, thanks for tuning in! See y'all soon
