So the entire last chapter I was very conflicted about referring to Ed as mom… And I've been thinking really hard about it and (Flipping back between dad and mom for him, I also got many reviews either supporting one or the other which gave me more to think about…) I've decided that he chose to be called mom (mostly to avoid the conversation as to why don't his kids have a mommy), because he decided that since he carried them around in a womb for nine months he felt the term mother appropriate. (And he doesn't really care about what anyone else thinks, they're his kids.)
btw, By my calculations the year is about 1918, because Ed is like 20 ish and Roy is 32/33 ish...

Chapter 9
It was October 20th. Milo's loud wail woke Ed and Roy in the middle of the night. Normally Ed was the one to get Milo when he didn't sleep through the night because Roy had to go into work in the morning and Ed could work from home, so he liked to let Roy rest, but tonight Roy gently pushed Ed back into the pillows and leaned in kissing him. Ed settled back to sleep and Roy headed to the nursery. Milo was five months, going on six in a couple of weeks. He could now sit up all by himself, and he would often get on his hands and knees and rock back and forth, as if he were about to crawl.
Roy entered the nursery only to see Milo who was sitting up head thrown backwards and tears streaming down his face. "What's wrong Milo?" At the sound of his father's voice Milo opened his eyes and lifted his head peering at his daddy. Roy picked him up and his crying turned into quiet sobs. "You're alright baby. Shh." Roy bounced him gently on his hip. He lifted him so that his head was resting on his shoulder. He patted Milo gently on the back until he heard his breathing steady again. He placed him back down in the crib on his back. He smoothed his bangs up and then kissed his forehead gently. He headed back to bed and laid down next to Ed.
"Did he go down okay?" Ed mumbled only half-awake.
"mmhmm," Roy said wrapping an arm around his Ed's shoulder pulling him closer. He closed his eyes and quickly fell back asleep.
When Roy got up in the morning Ed was sitting at the table with Milo, feeding him a jar of mashed bananas. "Good morning." Ed said cheerily while spooning the yellow mush to Milo.
"Morning…" Roy responded with a yawn. He poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table across from Ed and on the other side of Milo.
"Could you feed him?" Ed asked sliding the jar of banana goop across the table to Roy, "I just have to get a drink… I'm thirsty."
"Sure thing…" Roy said picking up the small jar, "Mmm Milo! Bananas for breakfast, your favorite!" Milo slammed his hands down on the tray excitedly and babbled before opening his mouth expectantly.
Ed grabbed a glass out of the cupboard. "Thank you by the way… for getting up last night to put him back down."
"Don't even worry about it, I know you've been tired lately… having to get up with Milo and find time to write your report and do research…" Roy's eyes were glued to Ed as he moved to the fridge and opened the door pulling out the carton of milk. Roy's eyes widened still locked on Ed.
"Hey hon?" Roy said while feeding another spoonful of bananas to Milo.
"Hmm?" Ed turned to face Roy while taking a drink.
Roy's mouth hung open, "….you're…"
"What?" Ed asked putting the milk carton back in the fridge.
"You're drinking milk?!"
Ed stared at the glass in his hand, his eyes widened and he was silent in shock for a few minutes. He looked at Roy nervously, "Oh… you don't think…?"
"I do…" Roy answered.
"I haven't been feeling sick or anything…" Ed said still sounding doubtful
"The only time I've seen you stomach milk was when you were pregnant with Milo…" He stared at Ed, "you do look like you've put on some weight…"
Ed scowled and grumbled, "I'm not fat Roy!" He lifted up his shirt, feeling his stomach. His eyes widened as he felt a smooth rounded surface... "I…I Roy, I-"
"Come here…" Roy said motioning with his head for Ed to come nearer. He slid his hand under his shirt and gently prodded Ed's stomach. Feeling the rounded bulge. "Think we should call Oliver…?"
Ed pushed his hand out from under his shirt with a scoff, "Well yeah… we better call him, I might be fucking pregnant." Ed already knew he was, he was sure of it.
Milo gurgled and laughed. "That's a bad word Milo. Mommy shouldn't be using that language…" Roy said raising the pitch of his voice, Milo only blew spit bubbles in response. "Oh come on now… you said you wanted another baby…"
Ed sighed… "I do… I do." He took a deep breath, "I'm just expecting the worst… I'm expecting to be miserable throughout this pregnancy too…"
"You don't even know if you are yet…"
"Fucking likely." Ed responded sounding rather irritated
"Can you stop…? Milo's right here…" Roy said with a sigh.
Ed stared at his son in the high chair, "Sorry baby." He said while pushing his bangs up and kissing Milo's forehead. His hair stuck up in every direction and his gaze shifted between his mother and father.
"Well… even if you are, you haven't been sick at all…"
"But we don't even know how far along I am…"
"Well, if you're showing the baby might've been conceived a few months ago…"
Ed rolled his eyes, "and you're referring to our wedding night?"
A smirk crept across Roy's lips. He offered another spoonful of bananas to Milo who leaned away, "C'mon Milo… open up." He made strange faces with his mouth hanging open trying to get Milo to do the same. Which made Ed chuckle. "I did say I only needed one try…" Roy said glancing at his blonde husband.
Ed pulled a face which made Milo laugh. He sat down in the chair beside Roy. He placed his hand over his belly and rested his chin on his other hand.
Roy still held the spoon towards Milo before putting it back in the jar with a sigh of dismay. "So, I'll call Oliver today…" He looked at Milo, "How does your first trip to Resembool sound Milo? Huh? Like to see your Uncles and Auntie?"
"Trisha too." Ed said. "She's so big…"
"Over a year old…" Roy replied sounding somewhat astonished looking at Milo, "Just think soon you'll be that big Milo… Mommy might be big too." Milo giggled and gurgled blowing a mess of spit down his lips and chin. Roy grabbed a napkin and wiped up the drool.
"Trisha's talking and walking…" Ed said trying to ignore Roy's last comment. "Hard to imagine Milo's gonna be that big in no time"
"Even now… he's huge… The first time I saw him…" Roy paused watching as Milo reached for the plastic ring just out of reach. Roy grabbed it and placed the toy on the tray of his high chair, "I had no idea anybody could ever be that small… and now look at him."
"Ehh" Milo made a high pitched squeal before babbling excitedly and chewing on the rings.
"I know…" Ed said watching his infant son, he was silent for a minute, "I'm gonna get him dressed." Ed said standing up.
"I can do it…" Roy said pulling Milo out of the highchair they headed off to the nursery.
Ed stood alone in the kitchen. He twisted the top back on the jar of banana mush and stuck it in the fridge. He glanced at the clock on the wall, it was almost 9 on a Saturday. Roy said he would call Oliver… but Ed hadn't talked to Oliver for a while. He picked up the phone and dialed. It rang a few times, as he was standing waiting for the line to connect Roy and Milo reentered the room. "Look at how cute he looks- Who are you calling?"
"Oliver." Suddenly the line clicked, "Hello?" Louis' deep voice rumbled
"Louis!" Ed said excitedly, "It's Ed-"
"I know," He replied calmly.
"Right… I was just… I was just thinking that we could come to Resembool for Milo's 6 month checkup."
"Mmm. Sure whenever you're free is fine… I mean, we're not going anywhere…"
"Great." Ed said excitedly, "Oh… and I'm sorry if I woke you…"
"No, I've been up…" Louis replied.
"I guess we'll see you soon…"
"Mmhmm, just call back after you know what days you'll be in town."
"Hold on a second…" Ed said looking at Roy. He covered the end of the phone, "When are we going?"
Roy's gaze shifted from Milo to Ed, "Well, we're not doing anything for the rest of the weekend why don't we catch the next train?"
"Is tomorrow alright?" Ed asked.
"Of course." There was rustling in the background, "Who are you talking to?"
"Ed," came Louis' reply. There was some more rustling.
"Hey! I'm guessing you called about Milo's appointment?" Oliver said cheerily
"Uhh… Yeah! Figured we'd drop by tomorrow…"
"Alright… I guess we'll see you then! Say hi to Roy and Milo for me…"
The line went dead, Ed hung up the phone and reached for Milo. "You look so handsome Milo…"
"So, tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"Did you ask for an appointment?"
"Of course…" Ed answered bouncing Milo gently on his hip.
"An appointment for you?"
A blush spread across his cheeks, "No…" He placed a kiss on each of Milo's cheeks. "Daddy, sure knows how to dress you…" Milo squealed and clapped his hands together wildly. He was wearing a green long sleeved shirt and corduroy overalls.
"I guess we'll just ask for one tomorrow while we're there." He watched Ed and Milo, both with huge grins on their faces. "We should start packing… On Saturday the train runs at 12 and 8..."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
They sat in their seats on the train. Ed held Milo in his lap. The dark haired baby boy stared out the window his eyes darting around at the people and new surroundings. "This should be easy." Ed said now facing Roy.
"Yeah… hopefully he'll pass out." Roy tousled his hair, momentarily gaining his son's attention before he gurgled and looked back outside. Ed leaned back into his seat with a sigh and gently ran his fingers through Milo's soft black hair. The train's whistle blew a few times and then it lurched forward. Milo kicked his legs excitedly watching as things began to move past the window. After a few hours Milo finally fell asleep, snuggling close to his mom. His face was nestled into the crook of Ed's arm and one of his hands clutched Ed's finger tightly. Only when the train started to slow did he wake up.
As they approached the station Milo opened his golden orbs and blinked the sleep out of his eyes peering up at his mother. "Hey baby." Ed said softly, Milo cooed back at him and smiled. The train stopped with a loud hiss and Milo started to fuss in his mother's lap trying to sit up and look out the window, his frustration continued to grow as Ed stood up and held Milo on his hip as he followed Roy off the train. He began to scream with irritation, tears streamed down his cheeks as he wailed.
They trudged over to Winry, Al, and Trisha. Ed was frantically trying to calm Milo down, "Milo…" He cooed, "We're not on the train now baby… Milo." He continued to scream, causing a scene. "Roy…" Ed looked at him with pleading eyes.
Roy placed their luggage down and took Milo from his arms, whispering to him sweetly. He calmed down now, holding tight to Roy's hand. Milo prodded and sucked on the wedding band that sat snuggly on his daddy's finger.
Al grabbed one of the bags and Ed grabbed the other. "So how have you guys been? Is he teething yet? That would explain the screaming…" Winry said.
"No…? I don't know… I guess we'll find out tomorrow at his appointment. For now can we go home? It's been a long day…" Ed said tiredly. Winry held onto Trisha's hand, who was eyeing her uncles and cousin shyly.
When they got to the house, Winry eagerly took Milo from Roy and started to tickle and talk to him. Ed dropped the diaper bag by the couch and then grabbed one of the bags of luggage and started pulling it upstairs before Roy snatched it out of his hands, "I've got it…" He had another bag slung over his shoulder. He disappeared upstairs.
Ed sat down on the couch, pulling his knees to his chest. He noticed Trisha staring at him from her father's arms. "Hey Trisha." He waved slightly and a blush spread across her face before she turned away.
"Trish, that's Uncle Ed… you remember him… you shouldn't be scared of him."
"Unca Ed?" She asked glancing at Ed. He waved at her "dow. Peas." Al put her down and she toddled over to Ed. She stared at him, "er baby?"
"uhh…?" Ed had no idea what she was saying.
"Er baby?" She asked again pointing to Milo who was currently in her mother's arms.
"Oh! Yes, that's my baby Milo, he's your cousin... and your Uncle Roy is upstairs."
"Unca oy?"
"Mmhm, he can have a mean face sometimes, but he's nice." Trisha smiled at that and then skipped away to her toy box where she started digging.
Roy walked downstairs, Milo reached for him from Winry's arms. "Hi Milo." He brushed up his bangs and took him from Winry. He hummed in response and kicked his legs happily. Roy sat down on the couch next to Ed. Milo smiled a toothless grin at his mama.
"Hey baby." Ed smoothed over his bangs.
"His hair's getting a little long, don't you think?" Winry asked from the kitchen, "You should let me cut it!"
"What? No!" Ed shielded Milo's head, "I love his hair…"
"Okay… okay…I was just saying… sheesh…" She grumbled as she headed back into the kitchen.
Trisha tottered over to her uncles, she was carrying a little stuffed doggy. It was blue and had flappy ears. She held it in front of Milo. He stared at the toy, and then at Trish. She shook it and made a bark sound. Milo's eyes widened in interest and grabbed at the toy and started kissing it and hugging it.
"Thank you sweetie!" Ed said with a smile.
"I think he really likes the toy." Roy said.
"Milo." she said looking at Roy, "is Milo." She said patting her cousin gently on the top of his head.
Roy smiled and chuckled, "Yes, you're right his name is Milo."
She smiled and nodded, "Milo keeps…" she said grabbing the paw of the doggy.
"You want Milo to keep the dog Trisha?" Ed asked and she nodded. She kissed Milo on the cheek while he absently chewed on the paw of the stuffed puppy.
"That was so nice sweetheart." Al said and his daughter smiled at him and jumped in his lap. Roy placed Milo on the floor where he was contently chewing on his new toy.
He got up and walking into the kitchen where Winry was, Ed could hear Roy, "Winry can I help with anything?"
"Oh yeah here you can-…" There was clanking and clambering.
Ed looked at Al, "When's dinner?" He was speaking in a hushed tone.
"In an hour or so…"
"Okay… Do you think you could watch Milo… I'll be back in a bit… I need to go for a walk."
"Alright brother... Me and Trish will take good care of him."
"Thanks." Ed said before slipping out the front door. He took a deep breath of cool night air. It was rather refreshing. It was quiet, unlike Central, it was always bustling and busy there. With another deep breath he started on the path to Oliver and Louis' small cottage.
Once there he knocked on the door. From inside he could hear thuds and then a glass shattered, "Ow, Ow, Ow! Louis! I'm fine, I'm fine, get the door." Footsteps sounded and then the door opened, revealing Louis who was wearing sweatpants and a baggy shirt. His hair was tied back in a bun and he was wearing glasses.
"Oh. Ed we weren't expecting you until tomorrow."
"Yeah, well… It's been a while and I just slipped away for a minute, figured I'd come see you guys real quick."
"Oh, of course, where are my manners? Come in." He stepped aside. Ed walked in seeing Oliver scramble around holding his bleeding hand.
Louis closed the door and walked to the middle of the room, "Ollie, what'd I tell you. You can't leave Test tubes lying around like that!"
"I know! God this is like the third time its happened." He looked up, "I'm sorry Ed, I'll be right with you…" He disappeared through the doorway.
Louis sat down on the couch picking up a book and marking his page, he closed it, "So, what really brings you here?" Louis asked with a smile.
"Well… I really did want to see you guys, it's been too long… but I also think I might be pregnant… and Roy's always hovering and doting on me… so I just… came alone… it'd be better this way…"
Oliver walked back into the room, hand bandaged, and lab coat on, "That'll just make him mad…"
"Well… yeah," Ed replied, "But… I mean, I already know that I'm pregnant… Roy just wanted verification… and I figured… that you could just give me a quick checkup…"
"Hmm… Well, I'm not gonna get in the middle of it… and since you're already here… I might as well… but if Roy freaks out about this, I have complete immunity…"
"Of course, I wouldn't let him take out his rage on you…"
Oliver grabbed Louis' hand, pulling him up. "Get off the couch… Ed needs to lay down." Louis stood up towering over Oliver. He leaned over and placed a kiss on his lips before mumbling something to him. He then moved to the desk.
Ed laid down on the couch, stretching out his legs.
"So… do you know how far along you are?"
"Uhh… three months? Maybe?" Ed pulled up his shirt.
"Okay… I'll work with that." He put the earpieces of the stethoscope into his ears and then moved the drum around Ed's stomach searching for a heartbeat. His eyes widened suddenly. "Uhh, Louis...?"
"Hmm?" He looked up from his book.
"Come here…" Oliver said still listening.
Louis got up and stood beside Oliver, "What?"
"Listen." Louis kneeled down next to him and put the prongs in his ears.
His eyes widened, "That's…"
"Okay good, you hear it too, I'm not going crazy," Oliver said as Louis slipped the stethoscope off his head
"Okay… now you're both freaking me out… is something wrong?" Ed asked nervously
"No… well," He paused, "you are in fact pregnant…"
"Okay…?" Ed said sitting up a bit.
"And… Okay, don't freak out… but, you're pregnant with twins."
Ed's mouth hung open, "No…"
"Yes!" Oliver said handing him the stethoscope earpieces. Ed put the earplugs in and his eyes widened as he heard two patterns of thumping slightly off beat from one another.
"Oh my god…" He put his hands over his face and sighed. "Oh my god…" He stood up, "I've gotta go… I'll see you guys tomorrow for Milo's checkup…" He ran out the door.
Everyone was sitting around the table for dinner. Milo sat in the high chair, Roy sat beside him. Trisha sat in Winry's lap and Al sat beside her. Ed's seat was empty.
"Where'd he go?" Roy asked while popping open a jar of mushed baby food.
"He said he would be back for dinner…" Al replied.
"That's a bit worrisome." Winry said speaking everyone's thoughts.
Roy was mostly in his head. He worried, knowing Ed was safe but not sure what trouble he was getting himself into.
"Roy?"
"Huh?" He looked up at Winry.
"I said you shouldn't worry…"
"Yeah, this is home after all, Ed knows it like the back of his hand." Al added
"Yeah…" Roy said a bit deflated.
"Is… something… wrong?" Winry asked
After feeding a spoonful of mashed sweet potato to Milo he sighed, "Well… we think Ed might be expecting… and he was acting a little standoffish…"
"You're expecting?!" Al asked, "Congratulations!"
"Yeah, congrats…" Winry said with a smile
"Thanks…" Roy said absently while feeding Milo another spoonful.
"Don't worry Roy… sometimes he just needs time to think…" Al said. "He'll be home soon."
Roy nodded, and smiled at Milo. He smoothed over his dark hair and kissed the top of his head, "Yeah. Mommy's alright Milo…."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The sun was setting quickly, the sky was orange streaked with pink and red. Ed sat at his mother's grave, "I guess I'm just anxious mom... I can hardly handle one baby… and now I'm gonna have three" He covered his head with his hands and started to sob, "I'm scared… Mom, I'm so scared." He pulled his knees up to his chest. "Who am I to complain…? You raised me and Al all by yourself and I even have Roy… I shouldn't be so stressed out about this…" Tears trickled down his face. "Mom… I'm only 20, I'm married and I have a son… and now I'm expecting two more… I wonder what you would say…" He smiled wiping his face, "You'd probably be happy to be a grandmother…" He smiled and sat quietly for a long time. Before he knew it, it was pitch black out. Stars twinkled brightly in the sky. Even though it was the middle of October Ed wasn't cold. He sat with his hand on his stomach.
"Beautiful night? Huh?"
Ed jumped with fright and surprise, "Roy, you scared me!" He yelled, irritated.
He sat down next to Ed, "This is your mother?"
"Huh? Yeah. Roy, this is my mom, Trisha Elric… Mom, this is my husband Roy Mustang…"
Roy placed a daisy across the grass in front of the tombstone.
"Where'd you find that…?"
"On my walk over here… Al said you would probably be here, he gave me directions… it was the only one I saw… so I picked it…"
Ed rested his chin on his knees. Roy wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him close, "I was worried about you…"
"I'm fine." Ed said shortly, "Is Milo asleep?"
"Of course… it's almost midnight…"
Ed sighed, "I'm sorry… I had some things on my mind…"
"The pregnancy?" Roy asked.
Ed buried his face in his arms sobbing ever so slightly.
"Ed… hey it's alright..." He kissed him on the cheek.
Ed lifted his head, "I have something to tell you…" He wiped his eyes. "I went and saw Oliver before dinner…"
"You what?" Roy sounded upset and rather irritated.
He ignored Roy and continued, "Oliver confirmed I was pregnant…" He took a deep breath, "and he also said…we're having twins… I heard both of their heartbeats…"
Roy let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. He wrapped his arms around Ed tightly and pulled him into his lap. He took a short shaky breath. "Oh my god!" He hugged Ed tighter, burying his face in his chest, "I can't believe this…"
"Are you… are you crying?" Ed asked teasingly, lifting Roy's head from his chest.
"I'm just so happy..." He pulled Ed's head down to his and kissed him, "I love you, I love you, I love you!"
Ed blushed, "Tch. Idiot…" he wrapped his arms around Roy's neck, "I love you too." He mumbled. They stayed wrapped in each other's arms for a while (neither of them knew exactly how long), until Ed slowly shifted off of Roy's lap. "We should go home… in case Milo wakes up…" Ed said getting to his feet.
"Oh, by the way, I let it slip to Al and Winry that we're expecting…"
Ed gave a hefty sigh, "That's alright…I'm sure they figured as much…" he said and turned in the direction of the house.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
"Hi Milo!" Oliver cooed happily taking him in his arms, "My, you're so big…. Do you remember me? Uncle Oliver?" He adjusted his hold on Milo, "That's your Uncle Louis." Oliver said noticing the baby's gaze was locked on the taller man. "Are you ready for a checkup today?" Milo gurgled in response, drooling down his chin and clothes.
Oliver set Milo down on the desk, "Heavy baby…" he said, "Speaking of which, we should probably weigh you…" Oliver went into the other room, there was some clanking and clambering. "Bring him in here!" Oliver called. Roy grabbed Milo off the desk and walked into the other room, leaving Ed and Louis in the main room.
The other room of the cottage doubled as a bedroom, and kitchen. Books were scattered everywhere. And there was a baby scale on the floor in front of Oliver. "Okay, place him there…" Oliver said pointing to the flat panel with curved edges. Roy sat him down on the scale and Oliver scribbled down the number, "17 pounds? Healthy weight… A little on the small side still, but healthy."
Roy pulled Milo back into his lap, "Hear that Milo, you're healthy!" The babbling baby looked up at his daddy and smiled.
"Okay, so now. Let's take him back to the other room…" Oliver said standing up and heading into the other room where Ed and Louis chatted and waited. Ed was leaning up against the desk.
Roy set Milo down, gaining Ed's attention, "Oh. My baby's back. I was so worried about my baby!" Milo giggled and grabbed at his mother's face. Ed leaned in and kissed his nose, then he wiped the slobber off his chin with his sleeve.
"Okay, Milo, now for the part you hate…" Oliver said putting the prongs of the stethoscope in his ears. Roy and Ed both held onto him cooing and talking to him. Oliver lifted his shirt and stuck the drum of the stethoscope on his back. Milo's whole body trembled and he started to cry. Each time the cold metal drum touched his skin he flinched and arched his back. He was wailing loudly.
"Shh. Milo." Roy talked to him in that calming way that always seemed to soothe him, but this time it had no effect. His screams only got louder, tears dripped down his face. Ed ducked down and rifled through the diaper bag. He pulled out the plastic chewing rings Milo liked so much. He shook them in front of Milo which only made him scream louder.
"Ed, the puppy… get the puppy!" Roy said frantically.
Oliver pulled his hand out from under his shirt. "Milo, it's alright…" Still he screamed.
Ed finally managed to wrench the blue puppy dog out of the bag, causing diapers, toys, clothes, and bottles to explode out as well. He waggled the stuffed dog in front of Milo. "Milo, look…" Still crying he opened his eyes slightly to peer at his mother. When he saw the dog he reached for it. Ed gave it to him and he immediately started sucking and chewing on the paw, quieting himself. With a sigh of relief Ed stooped down to start repacking everything that had fallen out. Louis was on the ground, stuffing toys in the bottom of the bag, then clothes. Ed started gathering up diapers, and bottles "Thank you Louis…" he said stuffing the diapers back into the bag.
"Of course…" He replied with a smile.
Ed stood up with a groan. He watched now, as Oliver reached his hand under the front of Milo's shirt listening to his heartbeat. Milo flinched at the cold metal, but didn't cry he just hugged his blue puppy and chewed on his paw.
"Heart sounds good…" Oliver said absently. He checked Milo's ears and nose, then his mouth and throat. "Well… Here's the source of the problem." Oliver said holding onto Milo's chin. "Look here." He said to Roy and Ed. "It's his first tooth!" They peered into Milo's mouth seeing a little white tooth barely poking out of his gums. Oliver let go of his chin and then pet his hair gently. "He'll be rather fussy for a while…" Oliver said. "I could whip something up for the little guy, nothing too strong of course, but it would help with the pain…"
"That would be wonderful," Ed said his voice heavy with relief.
Oliver smiled and disappeared into the other room, "Hey Louis!?"
"Yeah?" Louis wandered closer to their bedroom.
"Where are the prescription bottles?"
"Uhh…" Louis spun around looking around. "They're not in there?"
"No? Oh wait… found them." It took a few minutes longer before there was a couple of consecutive green flashes and Oliver wandered back into the main room carrying quite a few bottles. "This is for Milo." He said placing one down on the desk. "These are for you Ed… In case you get achy, or sore, or nauseas." He placed three more bottles on the desk.
"Thank you…" Ed said picking up the diaper bag and dropping the bottles of herbs inside. He slung it over his shoulder and picked up Milo… "I guess we'll see you guys for dinner tonight?"
"Where do you think you're going?" Roy asked.
"Uhh? Home?" Ed asked slightly confused.
"No, I don't think so…" Oliver said, "You didn't finish your checkup yesterday…"
"Wha-?" Ed was suddenly pulled back by Roy, who wrapped his arms around him and Milo. "We know I'm pregnant… we can go."
"Not so fast, we need to make sure those little babies inside of you are alright…" Roy said pulling him backwards. Oliver took Milo out of his arms and then Roy gently slid his hands under Ed's shirt and pulled it up over his head.
"ROY!" Ed yelled, face flushed with an angry expression. He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Oh, no need to get upset Ed, clearly we've all seen a naked man before…" Oliver smiled looking down at the baby in his arms, "Except for Milo!" He gushed to the baby, "Yes, you're so cute and innocent. Ooh! Let's go play Milo!"
He was about to dash off with the Elric-Mustang child before Louis placed his hand on his shoulder, "Love, you're not done yet… you still have another checkup to do…" He pulled Milo gently out of his arms. "You can play when you're done…" Louis made sounds at Milo, eliciting giggles from him.
Oliver sighed, "Okay… Okay… Sit on the desk Ed." With a gentle nudge from Roy, Ed sat down. Oliver went through the regular checkup, "I don't need to listen to the heartbeats again, but Roy would you like to-"
"Of course," He interrupted.
Oliver slipped the prongs into his ears and searched the surface of Ed's belly. "Ahh… There's one…" He took the prongs off and handed them to Roy. He listened intently a smile spreading across his lips. He slipped them out of his ears and then gave them back to Oliver who moved the drum over his stomach listening for the second heartbeat. He kept scanning over the surface of Ed's belly, "I don't-… I don't hear the other…" Oliver said almost frantically.
Ed was anxious and of course Roy was worried. They stared at Oliver as he ran the drum over his belly and then lifted it to the bottom of Ed's ribcage. He sighed, "Oh thank god… They're just in a weird position. One's lying on his back this way," He demonstrated using his hands, "He's curled with his back towards your legs. The other is pressed up against your ribcage…" He held out the prongs to Roy. Roy listened rubbing Ed's stomach gently, "you scared me, little one."
Ed sat up "Okay… enough of that… are we done?"
"Yes. We're done. If you feel anything is wrong, please call us. I want to keep you closely monitored…"
"I will…" Ed said cheerily. "We'll see you at dinner?" Ed asked pulling the diaper bag back over his shoulder. Louis put Milo in Ed's arms…
"Of course." Oliver said cheerily
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Yay! Another cute chapter… Okay, so we know Ed's pregnant with twins. (I hope a lot of you don't think it's cliché…) Anyways, Ed's almost four months along and he's had no symptoms… weird right? (Especially when compared to his last pregnancy.)
Thank you for all of your support. Hope you enjoyed this chapter… I'll see ya the next one! BAI!
