Chapter 22

Roy fell out of bed, his stomach lurching. He crawled into the bathroom, where he spilled his guts of last night's party. He sat on the floor, feeling another wave of sick stuck in his throat.

The doorbell rang. The dog barked. Chaos ensued, Ed scurried out of bed. He silenced the dog frantically, "Calces, shut up!" Ed yelled in a hushed tone. With the dog quiet, he quickly opened the door to the nursery. They had painted the walls green, Ed even painted a small mural on the wall of the nursery just above the crib. It was a big beautiful oak tree, branches splayed, bursting with vibrant greens. The bark was a warm brown.

Ed glanced at the crib, he sighed with relief. Greyson lay still, his head turned. He remained motionless. Ed closed the door and hurried downstairs.

He opened the front door, Hughes stood on the other side, Elicia beside him, "Ah, sorry, Ed… hope I didn't wake any of the little ones up…"

"Don't worry about it..." Ed said while stepping aside to let them in.

"So I assume that Roy is still indisposed…?" Hughes asked.

Elicia gave Ed a hug and then laid down on the couch, it was still really early in the morning… she curled up and promptly fell asleep.

Ed laid a blanket over the little girl, "Afraid so… He doesn't really drink… so I think he was really…" Ed sighed, "out of it…"

Hughes followed Ed into the kitchen and sat at the table "Well if it's any consolation, he didn't want to come… he kept talking about how he had to get back home to you and the kids… it took a lot of convincing…"

Ed fumbled with the coffee pot. "Why'd you make him go out if he didn't want to…?" He asked, just a slight bit of annoyance in his voice.

"Well… we were celebrating of course… and I wanted to make-"

"What were you celebrating?" Ed asked innocently, he took a seat at the table.

"Oh we were-" Hughes was cut off by Roy who entered the kitchen, clearing his throat. Hughes fell silent almost like they had a secret code.

Ed turned in his seat, looking up at Roy. "What were you celebrating?"

Roy placed his hand on Ed's shoulder while he planted a kiss on him. "Good morning to you too." He said with a yawn.

"What were you guys celebrating last night?" Ed persisted.

"Oliver and Louis, and their baby to be…" Roy responded cooly, stroking Ed's soft gold hair.

Ed felt his stomach tie in knots. "I'm going to go get ready…" He said. He hurried up the stairs to his bedroom and closed the door.

"Roy, you haven't told him?" Hughes asked incredulously.

"Well… you saw him… he's under a lot of pressure as is… I don't want to add to his stress levels…"

"I thought the point of marriage was unity… your problems become the same, you have your spouse to talk it through with... it's like a support system, but you can't get any support when you don't ask for it Roy…" Hughes said.

Roy sighed, "I'll tell him in due time, but as for now right now, this day is about him… I need to keep him calm…" Hughes was staring at Roy, his face contorted into a smirk, cause he knew exactly what that meant. Roy scoffed, "I'll tell him tomorrow…"

"Good, 'cause if you don't, I will… and that would be disastrous."

Roy sighed, and poured a cup of coffee.

"He deserves to know, Roy…" Hughes said.

Ed skipped down the stairs. "Okay. I'm ready."

"All set?" Roy asked. Ed nodded. "Alright Maes…" Roy said, pouring a couple of pills into his hand. He placed them in his mouth and took a swig of coffee. "Thanks for watching the kids while we're gone…"

"Of course." Hughes held out the keys to his car, Roy tugged them from his hand

"Thank you…" Ed added. On his way out he gently patted Elicia's head and followed Roy out to the car.

Roy stared at the car like he was afraid of it… "Ed I feel so sick right now… think you can drive?"

Ed's eyes widened in surprise. Roy never let him drive… he always said it was too scary. "Yes!" He excitedly skipped to Roy's side.

"You're sure chipper today…" Roy held the keys up out of Ed's reach. His small husband reached up for them. "Aren't you cute…" Roy wrapped an arm around Ed's torso and pulled him close. "A kiss for the keys…" Without hesitation, Ed stood up on the tips of his toes, pulling Roy's head down so he could reach. He crudely shoved his tongue into his husband's mouth and then yanked the keys out of his colonel's hand.

Ed broke away, "Let's go!" He said excitedly, getting into the driver's seat. Roy sat in the passenger seat. Ed started the car and they shot forward.

….

Ed pulled into the hospital parking lot and parked the car.. "We're here!" he said, turning off the car, he climbed out.

Roy opened his door and threw up out the side. "That was awful!" he muttered. He got out of the car and took the keys from Ed. "You certainly got us here in a timely manner…"

Ed only smiled, "Still a little sick?" He asked Roy.

"Unfortunately…" Roy answered.

….

In the hospital room, Ed laid in a comfy bed. Roy sat beside him, and Oliver and Louis hung out in the room with them, they had various sedatives laid out neatly on metal trays.

"Are you excited Ed?!" Oliver asked happily.

"For you guys yes… as for myself… I'm a bit nervous…"

Oliver smiled, "Again Ed, we really appreciate… you. Thank you for all your help…"

Ed nodded. "It's no big deal…"

"Ed do you have any questions or….?" Louis asked.

Ed shook his head… "No…"

"I do…" Roy said, "So what happens if this doesn't work…?"

Oliver and Louis both looked at each other and then shrugged, "If this doesn't work and the egg doesn't catch to the womb… then...we'll do surgery to remove said egg… but I wonder Ed… if your body somehow flushes out…." Oliver trailed off, mumbling to himself. "Nevermind, we'll cross that bridge if we come to it…"

Everyone was silent, the room was tense, and Ed felt panic rising, he needed to distract himself, "So you guys… when's this starting…?" He asked unsurely,

"Oh!" Oliver exclaimed, "Here, I'm going to give you the injection now…" Oliver grabbed a shot off the metal tray and a sterilized cotton swab. He cleaned Ed's skin then gave him the shot.

Ed cringed, Roy gently rubbed his shoulder.

"It's gonna be a few minutes before it takes effect" Louis said.

"So, lets keep you happy while you're awake so you have good dreams while you're out!" Oliver exclaimed, "Let's see… Oh! Well Milo grew a couple of centimeters… Thats great! Oliver and Louisa have both been walking! That's exciting stuff...how old are they now?"

"They'll be a year this month..." Ed said.

"Yay we'll get to have a big birthday party for them!" Oliver chirped… "Let's see, what else... "

"The promotion…" Louis suggested.

"Oh yes! Roy's new job… that's exciting, a new house… a new place… new work for you Ed..."

Ed looked at Roy, his husband's face was stark white. "What is this promotion?" Ed's voice was a hiss.

Oliver and Louis glanced at each other nervously.

"Ed I was going to tell you… but I didn't want to stress you out…" Roy said.

"I can't believe this! Does everyone know but me? I suppose that's the actual reason you went and got drunk, instead of coming home! Celebrating this job with everyone but me… I'm left in the dark… I'm always being dragged behind you..."

"I'm sorry E-"

Ed shook his head, "The night before an operation… do you think I really want to hear all your insecurities about me having someone else's baby!? You scared me! Made me feel guilty… you're such an ass, Roy…" Ed teared up, "Don't you think I want to celebrate with you… that I want to be happy too…"

"But with you Ed… it's more complicated than that… we have things to talk about…"

"What's there to talk about!?" Ed snapped

"Well… the move for one thing…"

Ed felt sick, "Move?" He started to feel woozy and lightheaded. "What move?" Ed pulled the covers off his legs and then stumbled out of bed. Roy got to his feet.

"Ed." Roy reached for him but Ed brushed past him. He walked clumsily out into the hallway. Ed didn't know where he was going… his mind was clouded from the drug. He took a few more steps before he passed out and collapsed on the floor.

"Shit!" Roy sprung to action and was at Ed's side in a flash. A few nurses began to gather round. Roy picked up the limp figure of his husband, and carried him back into the hospital room.

Oliver politely shooed away all the nurses and closed the door.

"So… what do we do now…?" Louis asked.

Roy laid Ed back down in bed. He pulled the covers over him.

"I am so sorry Roy… I had no idea he didn't know... I would've kept my mouth shut…" Louis said.

Roy shook his head…"It's fine… he was right. Everyone else knew about the promotion… he should've been the first one I told…" Roy sat down holding his head in his hands. "I really suck at this whole 'marriage' thing…" He said.

"Roy… no… well… yes… but that's because you try to do everything yourself…" Oliver replied.

"You're a doting husband and father… that's not a failure… you just lack… communication…" Louis said.

Roy sighed, "They say communication is key… I mean… what if he leaves me over this… I know he doesn't want to go to South City… He would never go for it."

"Well you have to decide which you want more, the job or your family…" Oliver said.

"My family of course…" Roy said, without hesitation. "Of course I pick my family…"

Oliver shrugged, "Then I think you know what you have to do, colonel."

A comfortable silence settled over them. "So… I suggest we cancel the operation as of today…" Louis said.

"So when would be a better time to do this… hopefully later this week? We leave next week on Tuesday… so..."

Roy glanced at Ed, completely passed out, "I guess… I'll have Ed call you…"

"Okay…" Oliver said, rubbing the back of his neck… "It's safe for you to take him home… the injection was a serum of mine… completely natural with no side effects…"

Louis had been scribbling on a piece of paper, "He can reach us here to reschedule…" Louis held out the scrap of paper.

Roy shoved the paper in his pocket, "I'll see you guys soon…"

"Oh… and Roy… I suggest that you work whatever is going on between the two of you out…. Before the next appointment. Stress is never good…" Oliver said. He pulled his glasses off.

Roy nodded and then left with Ed.

….

It was a dream. Ed knew it was a dream but it seemed so vivid and real.

"Hey hon… you did great…" Roy said. Ed looked around the room, recognizing it to be a hospital bedroom. Ed laid in bed, holding a baby in his arms.

"You alright there?" Roy asked.

Ed turned his head to see Roy sitting beside him. He was smiling, he looked happier than Ed had ever seen him.

"She's beautiful… don't you think?" Roy asked.

Ed looked down into his arms, he held a baby. Honey blonde hair was in tufts at the top of her head. Her eyes were closed, but Ed somehow knew behind her pale eyelids were charcoal dark eyes.

"This seems… so surreal… I can't believe… this… she shouldn't have even been possible…" Roy said.

Ed looked back down at the baby in his arms. He felt Roy's hand gently rubbing his back.

"Ed? Are you alright… you look confused…"

Ed looked at Roy, then back at the baby… "I'm a little-"

"Look… I understand if you're still mad at me…" Roy interjected. He took hold of Ed's hand and gently stroked the back of his hand with his thumb. Taking Ed's fingers in his hand, Roy kissed his wedding band.

"Why would I be mad?" Ed asked confused

Roy smiled and chuckled. His arms snaked around Ed's midsection and pulled him into a close hug, "I thought you were going to leave me." Roy whimpered into Ed's neck as he placed kisses on the supple skin. He lifted his head and looked at Ed, tears were pooled in his eyes.

Ed was in immediate shock.

….

He woke up at home in bed. Ed could hear Milo's shrill voice, and Roy's voice. He sat up, and got out of bed… He opened the bedroom door and was blown aback by the amount of noise. Roy had a record playing classical music. He sat in front of his three children. They all sat facing him. Yammering and blabbing to each other. Roy held tiny baby Greyson in one arm. He had a sign language book lying open on the floor in front of him.

"Hey!" He bellowed over the noise, the kids fell silent, fearful of their frustrated father. "Milo… can you sign a word for me?"

Milo put his finger tips together bouncing them together.

"More.." Roy said, "That's a good one Milo, girls can you do 'more'?" Milo proudly showed his sisters what he was doing with his hands. They very clumsily imitated him. "Good job Oliver… Good job Louisa… you girls are both doing great." Roy said, while tousling their thick black hair.

Ed stepped on the creaky floorboard, alerting his family of his presence, he began to descend the stairs.

"Mommy's awake!" Milo squealed, Ed continued down to the bottom of the stairs Milo ran to his mother, wrapping his arms around his legs.

Ed smiled and gently ran his fingers through Milo's curls. "Hey, sweetie…" Ed bent down and hugged his son, kissing him on the cheek.

Milo squealed happily. He sprung out of his mother's embrace.

Roy was now standing, cradling Greyson in his arms he stared blankly at Ed, waiting for something to happen.

Ed stepped closer, wordlessly. He took their infant son from his arms. Grey's bright gold eyes stared back at him. Ed cooed to him sweetly, then placed a kiss on his forehead. "...What happened, Roy...?" He asked.

"Well… after you passed out, I took you home… Oliver and Louis want you to call and reschedule for later this week."

Ed nodded again, transfixed on their baby.

Roy was silent, watching Ed.

The silence was finally broken by Roy, "So, Ed… honey…" Roy paused unsurely.

Ed began to laugh, "Honey?" He asked Roy teasingly. "You and these pet names…"

Roy felt relieved, Ed wasn't mad… or he didn't seem it. He probably knew exactly what it was he wanted say.

Still chuckling under his breath Ed sat down calmly beside Roy. He gazed at his husband with undivided attention. He held Greyson in his lap.

"Ed, I guess… I should tell you, that at the beginning of the week, I received a letter of promotion."

Lulu stood up and clumsily toddled to her parents. She stood beside her mother, sucking contently on her binky.

"Hey baby…" Ed said, acknowledging Lulu and seeming not to pay attention to Roy.

Lulu squealed excitedly.

Ed laughed, "quiet sweetie… that's too loud inside…"

The little girl giggled and smiled, "Mommaaah" She clutched onto the fabric of Ed's shirt. He swooped her up with his free arm, and Louisa now sat in his lap.

Once Roy felt he had Ed's attention again, he continued. "You see I would be Brigadier General, but the position is in South City…"

"Congratulations…" Ed said. "You're moving up again… I wish you well…"

"The thing is… There's no way I'd be going without you…"

"I don't… Roy… we're set up so nice here… this house… it's perfect for our family… I don't want to leave Central… I can't… "

"You seem like you wouldn't care if I left?" Roy inquired.

"It's not… that." Ed stuttered.

"So how do you really feel?"

Ed cleared his throat, his eyes were glassy. It was obvious he was trying not to cry. "The kids would certainly miss you… and I—" Ed paused, choking up again, "I would really be miserable without you…"

Roy kissed him, "Hey… it's alright… I'm not going… I'm declining the promotion… When it comes down to you and the kids and work, my family will come first… you'll always come first…"

Ed leaned forward into Roy, nearly weeping tears of relief.

Roy stroked his husband's hair gently. "You didn't think I'd really leave you and the kids… Did you?" He asked with a smirk.

"I didn't know where your priorities lied… I know how much you want to be Fuher…"

"Yeah… well… A family really changes your priorities… I couldn't stand being away from the kids..." Roy gently patted Lulu's head.

Ed took a deep breath, calming his nerves, and trying to slow his thumping heart.

"Hey…. Ed, I love you… I'd never leave you… and I'm sorry I kept this from you…" Roy grabbed tightly onto Ed's hand, squeezing his fingers gently. "I was only trying to make sure you weren't stressed out about another thing… I hadn't really made up my mind at that point either… now that I have…"

Ed nodded, " I'm sorry you have to give up your promotion for me…"

"Don't be..."

Ed smiled and leaned in close to Roy. "I love… you…" Ed muttered.

Roy pulled Ed closer and wrapped his arms around his waist. Tiny Grey still in his arms. Roy kissed Ed sweetly and pulled away. Ed was blushing furiously, he looked up at Roy bashfully, "I want to have s-" Ed was cut off by a loud clash. It sounded like glass breaking.

"What was that?" Roy asked frantically. Milo's wail pierced the air. The set of parents shot up off the couch. Ed clutched Grey tightly and hurried to the source of the sound. Milo stood in the kitchen crying, in front of him was a plate shattered into seven pieces.

"Are you hurt baby?" Ed asked. He examined Milo's arms and face. "No cuts…" Ed said. Tears continued to stream down Milo's face.

"I think it scared him more than anything…" Roy said "Milo, baby… you don't need to cry… Mommy and Daddy are right here… we're right here… and you're not in trouble… it was loud and kinda scary… but it's okay now… alright…?" Roy said, wiping his son's tears "its okay." Roy hugged his son and rubbed his back. "Hey, can I show you something cool?"

Milo nodded vigorously, his curls bounced. "Mommy… Daddy said he gonna show me something. He said that he gonna show me something cool…"

Ed smiled and nodded enthusiastically, he gently rocked Greyson "Why don't you ask daddy if you can help him get ready. Roy was crouched down, carefully gathering the pieces of the plate.

"Daddeee… Can I hep?"

"Yes… go and find some chalk…"

Milo nodded and ran off in search of chalk.

"What was it you were saying?" Roy asked looking at Ed

"Are you going to show him transmutation?" Ed asked, adjusting his hold on Greyson.

Roy nodded, "I was going to draw the circle so he could see how it's done….. Ed what were you about to say on the couch?"

Ed shook his head, "It's not important…"

Roy smirked, "You sure? It sounded to me like you were going to ask for some loving…" He said teasingly.

Ed blushed "So what if I was…"

Roy chuckled and shook his head, "Then I'd be obligated to fulfill that demand…" Roy got to his feet. Placing the plate shards on the table. He wrapped an arm around his husband's waist, pulling him closer. He placed a kiss on Ed's temple, as well as his cheek and nose. He glanced down at Greyson, who laid in his arms, his big gold eyes watched him.

"Daddy!" Milo interrupted, tugging on his father's pant leg. "Here chalk!" Milo held it up to his father.

Roy let go of his husband and bent down close to Milo. "Thanks baby…" Roy said, stroking his curls. He placed a kiss on Milo's forehead. "Now are you ready for the really cool part?" Roy asked.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Milo chirped.

Roy drew out the chalk circle, it was neat and concise, every line was perfect.

Milo's eyes lingered at every symbol and shape.

Roy began to place out the pieces of the plate, arranging them neatly into their former shape.

"Daddy no-ting happening…" Milo said, looking up at his father expectantly.

"You have to be patient baby." Roy said with a smile. He placed the last shard down on the circle. "Okay now watch this sweetie…" Roy said.

"Daddy are you doin' alchemy?" Milo asked, "Transmoot" He stopped, "Transmuuuute?"

"Smart boy Milo, we are doing transmutation." Roy said placing his hands on the outside of the circle. The circle glowed brightly and when the light dimmed down the plate was whole again.

"Woooooah daddy!" Milo gasped. He knocked his fist gently on the porcelain of the plate. "Daddy teach me!"

"When you're a little older Milo…"

"Mommy!" Milo whined, "Will you teach me Alchemy?"

"Milo, you're too little. When you're a little bigger daddy and I will both teach you… but right now you're too young…"

Milo stared at the plate a little longer and then picked it up, staring at the circle beneath it. He crawled down off of his chair and then ran off.

"So cute…" Ed cooed

Roy picked up the plate and put it away where it belonged in the cupboard.

Ed wandered over to the calendar. "How do I call to reach Oliver?" Ed asked.

"Oh…" Roy said, he reached into his pocket and dug out a scrap of paper. "They said you could call this number… and reach them there."

Ed handed their infant son to his father and tugged the scrap from his fingers. He moved to the phone and began to dial the number.

The phone rang then there was click, "Louis Tichs,"

"Hey Louis, it's Ed…"

"Oh Ed! How are you feeling? Better I hope…"

"I'm just fine…" Ed said.

"Good, that's great… so I assume you're rescheduling... "

"Yeah… I am… when do you guys leave town?" He asked

"We leave on Tuesday…" Louis answered

"Oh… okay, so can we do it before then? Like tomorrow or Friday?" Ed asked

"Sure, I'm sure that's fine… I'll call the hospital… and Oliver will get back to you in a few hours…"
"Okay…" Ed said.

"Bye, Ed, talk to you soon…"

"Bye…" Ed hung up the phone.

"Everything squared away?"

"Oh, yeah…" Ed said, "Oliver's gonna call back to confirm the appointment…"

"Okay… if I hear the phone I'll answer."

Ed wandered into the living room. Milo was sitting in front of the book cases full of his mother and father's books. Ed's sketch books were strewn across the floor flipped open to drawings of transmutation circles.

Ed gasped, "Milo! Look at this mess… what are you doing?"

"Alchemy mommy…"

Roy walked into the living room, "What's happening here?"

"Daaahhduuuh" Ollie called. She waddled clumsily to her father.

Roy picked her up in his free arm. "Milo what's happening you made a big mess of mine and mommy's things…"

"Alchemy daddy…"

"Sweetie, no..." Roy said

Milo kept flipping through Ed's sketchbooks.

Ed began to pick up books, closing them and then sliding them back into their lot on the book shelves.

"Mommy!" Milo whined

"What? You're not using these ones… you made a big mess…"

"Ed, don't clean up for him… he made the mess he should have to clean it up…" Roy fussed

Ed sighed, "Fine… fine…" he lifted his hands in defeat.

"Milo when you're done with our books you have to put them away…" Roy said sternly

"I will…" Mio said with a sigh.

"Such an attitude…" Ed tutted.

"He's too young… to be this sassy…" Roy agreed. Ollie squirmed in his arms so he set her down.

Ed sighed and plopped down on the couch. Roy cooed at Grey, resting in his arms..

"We should put him on his tummy…" Ed suggested.

Roy got down on his knees onto the floor and Ed spread out a blanket. Roy gently placed Grey on his tummy, he just laid face down, huffs of air escaped the baby's lungs as he tried to lift his head.

"Daddeee, whaddus this say?" Milo asked. He held up a book by the page and it tore out. The book fell to the floor. "Ooops…" Milo said.

"Milo…" Roy groaned.

"Daddy, you fix with alchemy…"

"Yeah…" Roy sighed… "Ask your mother…"

"Mommy please help …?" Milo asked.

Ed stood up, "hold on Milo…" Ed wandered over to where Milo was set up on the floor. He crouched down beside his son. Ed examined the page and then the book. He clapped his hands together and then touched the book and the page.

"Woah Mommy…"

Ed smiled, "All fixed…"
"You dih'nt use a circle."

"I know…" Ed smiled.

"Teach me, mommy!"

"I can't…sweetie…" Ed said

"I wana learn!" Milo chirped

"Sweetie… you're too little to do alchemy right now…" Ed tried to explain this logically to his son.

Milo shook his head, "Nah mommy!" Milo buried his nose back into the book Ed just fixed. Obviously he wasn't reading but he closely examined picture after picture.

Ed sat back down on the couch. Roy sat beside Grey who still laid face down. Louisa was now sitting in Roy's lap and her father absently braided her hair with nimble fingers.

"Muhmuuhh" Ollie gurgled while stumbling to her mother.

"Come here baby girl…" Ed cooed his encouragement. Oliver held onto the couch for dear life. Ed chuckled and lifted her up into his lap. "Silly girl…" Ed kissed the top of her head and then rested his head against the back of the couch. He took a deep breath and sighed.

"Something wrong?" Roy asked, he flipped Grey over onto his back.

Ed shook his head… "I've just enjoyed not… being pregnant…."

"Really? Last time you weren't pregnant you were antsy and all over me…"

"That's… because I wanted another baby…"

Roy chuckled and shook his head. "I hope that urge is satisfied…"

Ed didn't say anything. He ran his fingers through Oliver's hair.

"Ed? Honey?" Roy asked.

"Hmm?" Ed hummed. He didn't make eye contact with Roy.

"No more kids…?"

"Well… obviously not… I'm going to be pregnant with Oliver and Louis' baby…"

Just hearing that made Roy jealous. He felt frustration pooling up inside, he wanted to knock up Ed right now just so that Oliver and Louis couldn't do it.

Roy cleared his throat. "Can I take you up on your offer from earlier?"

"What?" Ed asked

"You wanted to do it…"

Ed turned red, "Oh… yeah…"

"Okay, lets go." Roy said standing up.

"Are you crazy the kids are all up…?" Ed was taken aback. He placed a kiss on top of Ollie's head.

"Yeah… but I didn't put them down for their naps while you were passed out…"

"Can't you just wait?"

"I want you now…" Roy murmured. He leaned into Ed kissing his cheek, neck, and ear.

"Roy stop it…" Ed said, he pushed Roy away and wrapped his arms around Oliver in a protective hug.

Roy placed his hand against Ed's cheek and pressed their lips together, gently pecking.

"Roy…" Ed mumbled between kisses.

"Mm." Roy kissed him again, gently.

Ed pulled away, his face covered with a pink blush, he bit his lip.

"I really love you…" Roy said. He kissed Ed's nose.

"No…" Ed said simply.

Roy sighed.

"All the kids are awake. It'd be at least half an hour before we'd be alone…"

"That's fine… just please…" Roy said, "I'm willing to wait…"

Ed sighed, "….Milo, sweetie, it's time for your nap…"

"No mommy!" He whined.

"Yes... " Ed got up. He held Ollie in one arm and picked up Milo in the other.

"Mommeeee" Milo whined.

"When you wake up, Daddy and I will read to you…"

Ed adjusted his hold on Milo.

Milo started to kick his legs, he began to go limp. He slid through his mother's arms, landing on the floor. He picked up the book he'd been reading and ran.

"Milo!" Ed yelled after him.

Ed could hear his footsteps echoing down the hall. He sighed.

Roy placed a hand on Ed's lower back. "Let's put Grey and the girls to bed first... then we can track him down…"

Ed nodded, "Yeah… alright…"

Roy carried Louisa and Grey upstairs. He left Lulu in her room with her mother and sister, then took Greyson into the nursery and began the long process of putting him to bed.

Ed read the girls a story and put them in the crib for their naps. They were both nodding off when Ed left them. He knew Roy would be at least another 20 minutes before he got Greyson down, so he decided to find Milo and put him to bed as well.

Ed searched around the house for their elusive toddler. "Milo…" He cooed gently. There was no answer. Ed began to worry, with no sign of the little boy and only so many hiding places his mind began to reach frantic conclusions.

"Milo… you really need to come out…" Ed searched the cupboards and closets. No Milo. He checked the downstairs bathroom and the study, still his eldest son was nowhere to be found. Ed wandered into the kitchen, still searching, opening cupboards and the likes. He felt arms snake around his waist and his ass was suddenly being grinded on. He shot up straight as a board.

"What do you think you're doing?" Ed hissed.

Roy was kissing his neck and shoulder. "I'm gonna make love to my husband…"

"Milo isn't in bed… he's hiding somewhere…" Ed pushed Roy away.

"He took a book he's occupied…"

"Roy… he needs to go down for his nap… or else the kids' sleeping schedules will be off."

"You worry too much…" Roy gently nipped at his collarbone. He slid his fingers under Ed's shirt.

Ed's hand shot out quickly and he grabbed Roy's wrist. "Knock it off…"

"No…" Roy persisted. He kissed Ed and then tugged his hair out of his bun.

"Roy… Milo might see…"

"He probably fell asleep…" Roy lifted Ed up onto the counter, pecking him on the lips as he once again slid his hands under his shirt. He began to gently knead Ed's nipples.

Ed moaned quietly before he buried his head into Roy's shoulder.

Roy tugged on the waistband of Ed's pants, lowering them on his hips.

"Don't take them off all the way…" Ed said, breaking their kiss.

"I won't… don't worry." Roy said. He began to prod Ed's entrance, poking gently with his fingers.

"We're in the kitchen…"

"Yeah... " Roy said casually. He slipped his fingers inside of Ed and began to stretch and prepare him.

Ed whimpered and squirmed from the pleasure his husband was causing him. He held onto Roy's shoulders as he began to relax and lean backwards.

"Do you feel good now?"

Ed nodded, "yeah…"

Roy kissed him "I'm gonna put it in now…"

Ed stifled a whimper as he heard Roy unzip his pants. He writhed as he felt his colonel's cock at his entrance.

"Stay still…" Roy commanded. He gently pushed himself inside his small husband and slowly began to move back and forth.

Ed moaned in time with Roy's thrusts.

"You enjoy having me inside of you this much?" Roy teased.

Ed shook his head, "sh-shut up…" he mumbled between pants.

Roy kissed him and continued to thrust.

"Daddy?"

Roy and Ed both froze at the sound of their son's voice.

"Mommeee?"

Ed sat up and swatted at Roy, pushing him away. He pulled his pants back on his hips and slid off the counter. Roy pulled up his pants and straightened out his shirt. He ran his fingers through his hair nervously.

"Daddy?"

Roy looked around for his son, he was still nowhere in sight. He cleared his throat, "What is it sweetie?" He asked, still looking around. He checked under the table, Milo wasn't there. The curly headed boy appeared in the hallway, rubbing his eye with one hand, and dragging the book he'd taken in the other.

"I'm tired…" Milo whimpered.

Ed pulled his hair up and wrapped the ponytail around his hair, holding it together in a bun.

Roy picked up his son, the book clattered to the floor. Milo curled around his father. He rested his head on Roy's shoulder.

"Have a good rest…" Ed said, tousling Milo's hair as Roy walked by.

"Night Mommy…" Milo said tiredly.

Roy ascended the stairs holding a sleepy Milo.

Ed collapsed with relief in a chair nearby.
