Hey guys, another chapter finished. I wanted to get this out quicker, and it's a bit shorter than last couple of chapters, but I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 27
It was now three days since the incident. Roy hadn't been to work since, neither had Ed. They didn't really talk about it. Ed and Roy did go shopping that day, they found a few tiny trains and a rubber ball Milo and Cal could play with.
Ed threw away the amber beetle from Barnabe, he got chills every time he thought about the colonel, and he thought about him each time he saw the beetle.
They spent the next day out about around town. Seeing the sights, as Roy hadn't done much of that himself and the two of them were eager to run from their problems. They went out for dinner, a date, an actual date… in public, the first time they'd ever done such a thing… except their anniversary at the zoo, but they'd had three of the kids there at the time, so it wasn't very… romantic.
Roy stepped out of the bathroom, just finished with his shower.
"We need to go to work." Ed said blatantly.
Roy sighed through his nose, "We have a meeting with the general today."
"So that's why you actually got out of bed…"
Roy chuckled and kissed Ed's temple, smooching his ear and cheek as well.
"Am I… or are we in trouble?" Ed asked.
Roy shrugged, "I'm not really sure." His hand caressed Ed's rotund belly
Roy didn't seem worried, so Ed knew that he shouldn't occupy his mind with the worst case scenario.
"Is Barnabe going to be there?" Ed asked
"No." Roy said quickly, his voice heavy as if hearing the question pained him. He was beginning to dress himself now.
"Can you elaborate… just a little?" Ed asked with a sigh, "I have no idea what to expect or what we'll be talking about."
"I managed to get an appeals session with the general. We're going to convince him you work better on your own schedule, and we're going to try to get Barnabe discharged."
"Roy, he hardly touched me… I don't think that's completely necessary." Ed immediately regretted what he said. Roy turned around quickly his dark eyes were teetering with rage. Ed could see that now.
"He shouldn't have touched you at all… and what's more he hurt you!" Roy said, anger rising in his voice, "That psycho piece of shit deserves to be dishonorably discharged…" Roy shook his head, he was practically growling.
"Roy…" Ed said softly, afraid to speak up.
"What?" He snarled.
"Calm down…" Ed placed a soothing hand on his bare shoulder.
"How can I? When that obsessed ass wipe is lusting after you."
"Do you feel threatened?" Ed asked, repeating the very same question Roy had asked him.
Roy scoffed, but didn't answer. He turned his head away, staring at the wall as if he wanted to punch it to pieces.
"Do you?" Ed asked again.
"…maybe…" Roy mumbled.
Ed's hand had slowly moved to the nape of his husband's neck, he pulled Roy's head down to his height, their foreheads pressed together. "Don't worry. I love you." Ed said with a blushing smile, which Roy could only return.
"I love you too." Roy said. Ed stood on his toes to press their lips together, the kiss was passionate, but hurried as Ed pulled away blushing furiously. "That doesn't mean I shouldn't still be worried… If that fucker hurt you again… I don't think I could control myself…" Roy said. His hands were laced around Ed's lower back, keeping them close.
"I don't want to work under him… I'll fight it…" Ed said.
"You're not going to be working under him, I refuse… and if not I'll quit."
"You can't just quit the military Roy." Ed sighed, "That's called desertion."
Roy huffed pulling on a shirt.
"You could go to jail."
"I know…" Roy sighed through his nose, he pulled Ed close once more, his bulging stomach pressing against his flat stomach. He noticed Ed staring at his abdomen, he sighed.
"Something wrong?" Roy asked, watching Ed's glowing golden eyes.
Ed shook his head, "I just… I'm tired of being pregnant…"
"Yeah well we don't really need any more kids… so…"
"This one is it?"
"I wouldn't say it." Roy muttered.
Ed cocked an eyebrow.
"For now…" He stated surely.
Ed glared, "You're cocky…"
"You know it." Roy said with a chuckle. He placed a kiss on Ed's forehead, content knowing that was Ed's way of communicating that he wasn't completely opposed to the idea of more children.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
In the general's office, Ed and Roy stood side by side. He looked them over long and hard, "I don't know what to say Mustang."
"Sir I know it's a lot to ask, but, Barnabe poses a threat to his safety, and as his partner, this subject matter worries me."
"What bothers me is your irrationality brigadier general." The general said sternly.
He was an intimidating man, Ed thought. An older gentleman. Large grey bushy eyebrows, they looked like they would crawl off his face at any minute. He was balding, his eyes were deep and dark, he had a kind face, like a grandpa, which made him all the more frightening when stern and irritated.
"You took a leave of three days, unexcused without informing anyone of your whereabouts."
"I was angry sir."
"That's no excuse." The general retorted.
"I felt unsafe in that environment, I feared the safety of my husband and if you won't take action then I will!" Roy said angrily.
Ed grabbed hold of his arm, tugging ever so slightly, trying to calm his snarling husband.
"Sir. I know if given the chance, I can prove to be productive in my research. I just need a month… Please a month under the brigadier general's supervision." Ed said calmly.
"Edward this isn't about research anymore! This is about getting rid of Barnabe." Roy said, clearly irritated.
"No it's not," Ed said irritated, "He's out of my life as long as you're my boss… as long as I prove productive."
"But he's not out of mine, and as long as I bridge you together he will continue to be a threat to you… and the kids…" Roy said softly.
This made Ed quiver. He swallowed hard. He remained silent in thought.
"Sir… could he be transferred… discharged? Anything?" Roy asked.
The general was just looking between the two of them. He sighed, "From what I've heard, Barnabe has made numerous violations. Unorderly fraternizing with his superiors and as well as with those he supervises," The general sighed as if is troubled, "He was so promising."
Roy and Ed said nothing, they felt no sympathy for the colonel.
The general looked down at his desk, "Fullmetal, I grant you one more month to provide progress. "You'll remain under the brigadier general's supervision, this is your last chance, I don't care what you have to do to get me my information. Get it done. Or else I will remove you from your research and reassign your supervisor."
"Yes, sir." Ed answered, too relieved to say anymore.
"As for Barnabe, I will speak with him and get back to the two of you about his… situation. For now brigadier-general, have the Fullmetal alchemist take post in your office."
"Of course sir,"
"You're dismissed." The general waved his hand absently and Roy and Ed scurried out of his office.
As soon as the door closed, "That was good?" Ed asked.
Roy nodded, "Yes. The general likes you… he favors me… I think this time things will work out well for us." He wrapped an arm around Ed's waist and pulled him close, kissing his cheek.
Ed swatted Roy away, "Stop. I don't want you to get in trouble." He shoved away.
"For what?" Roy asked with a chuckle.
"For fraternization…" Ed said.
"I'm pretty sure that law doesn't apply to us."
"Just because we're married…" Ed said, "You should still behave yourself, PDA isn't—"
"I guess that's what I have an office for…" Roy had a devilish smirk, which made Ed's heart beat faster, he felt himself blushing. How had it become like this, every time the man spoke, Ed was left stammering. He remembered a time in their lives when they would argue with every statement.
They made it to his office Roy sat behind his desk, and Ed sat on the other side, realizing just how much power his husband had. It made him feel rather anxious, but also proud.
"Are you alright?" Roy asked. "You look a bit pale."
Ed cleared his throat, "I'm fine… I'm worried…"
"About your research? What are you gonna do?"
Ed hadn't even thought about that, "I-I" he felt anxious, "I don't know… I don't know…"
"It's alright." Roy said with a reassuring smile.
With that smile, Ed melted again he felt himself blushing. He looked down at his bulging belly and his hands. "I know." Ed said quietly.
"How are you feeling?" Roy asked.
"Fine. I'm tired." Ed placed his hand on his stomach and felt light kicking, quick repeated tapping; the baby was wide awake.
"So am I." Roy said rubbing his face. "We should've slept more"
"That's entirely your fault!" Ed said with a gloating look, reveling in the fact that he told Roy they'd be exhausted the next day.
"I seem to recall a good hour when you rode m—"
"SHH!" Ed hissed loudly.
Now Roy was the one smirking, "don't try to put all the blame on me then."
Ed cleared his throat, "Sorry…"
Roy shrugged, "I know the general said to work in my office, but we need to go to the library and find you some papers or books or something."
"We?" Ed asked.
"Well, you don't know where the library is, so who better to show you than me?" He asked, standing up.
Ed only chuckled. He stood up, following behind his husband.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
They'd made a trip to the library, it was in one word; unsuccessful. They both knew the only published papers they'd find would be Ed's.
The small pregnant blonde, squatted and stretched, scanning shelves. His husband watched from afar, stifling chuckles.
"There's nothing here… that's helpful….. Molecular mutation… that's not it…"
Roy could only think of how cute he looked with his swollen tummy, his gaze lingered. He only hoped their inklings were right and that it was their baby…
He grabbed onto Ed's hand, "c'mon…" He tugged him up and away, they ran and wove through aisles of books until they managed to get to a seemingly remote place. It was silent, there were no lights on. The books and shelves were extremely dusty.
Roy was braced against the shelves, leaning down over Ed.
"If we're not getting anything here then we should go back to work…" Ed said quietly.
Roy smirked, "Such a goody-two-shoes." He placed a kiss on Ed's nose and then his lips. He had to crane his neck at an awkward angle.
"I just don't want you to get in trouble." Ed mumbled between kisses.
Roy kissed his cheek and tenderly bit and kissed his lips, pecking them raw. He deepened the kiss and moved his tongue with expertise, Ed soon fell victim and could no longer resist his husband's charm and allure. Their bodies pressed together. Ed's arms tangled around Roy's head. He melted into his husband.
Roy's hands had been resting on his husband's small hips, slowly they began to slide down over his butt, rubbing and groping.
Ed whimpered, his legs jelly, he was using Roy for support. "This is stupid I feel like a kid… making out in the restricted section in the library..."
"You are a kid." Roy corrected with a smirk.
"I'm not a kid. You're not considered a kid when you have children of your own."
"Is that a written rule?" Roy asked, chuckling softly.
"I'm sure it's written somewhere." Ed mumbled.
"Enough about kids, I miss them too much." Roy said, shaking his head.
"Get your hands off my ass." Ed was blushing.
Roy kissed him, smiling, "Give me another baby…"
Ed was bright red, "I'm working on it…" he gestured towards his belly.
Roy's hand came to rest on his rotund stomach, there was very gentle tapping against his palm he squatted to his knees, "Hey baby…" Roy kissed his stomach, "You're mine, aren't you?" He asked as if the baby could answer. He kissed his stomach again. "Yeah, I'm sure of it… your mother lost control the night you were conceived… I remember so clearly.
Ed cleared his throat, "Okay… no more talking to my stomach."
"The baby." Roy corrected.
Ed rolled his eyes, "yeah, okay, either way, you're talking about our sex life to possibly our, or our best friends' baby..."
"It's gotta be our kid… your dreams, I haven't been wrong about our kids thus far… and even Milo thinks this is his brother…" Roy said, completely dismissing his husband's comment.
Ed scoffed, "You were wrong about your youngest son, or have you forgotten?"
"Greyson was a special scenario."
"You'll use any excuse…" Ed said.
"That boy had who knows what kind of alchemy working on him."
Ed almost whimpered at the thought.
"Besides, I've been spot on for the rest of our kids…" Roy argued.
"Alright then, guess now." Ed said
"Now?" Roy asked
Ed nodded, "If Grey was a one-time miracle, then you'll have no trouble guessing this time…"
"Alright…" Roy said confidently, "I'll get it right this time too…"
Ed rolled his eyes, "Yeah… okay… your answer?"
"A girl." Roy said simply.
Ed felt himself smiling as he remembered his dream and how repeatedly it had been a boy… he felt confident Roy would be wrong and he'd have something to gloat over for a short while… again.
"From that grin on your face I'd say that you think otherwise…"
Ed shook his head, "One can never be certain and I just find it rather funny you're always so sure of yourself."
"Well… I like to think I'm rather intuitive when it comes to these matters…"
"These matters…? Your children, you mean?" Ed asked with a flat look.
"Yes, my children." Roy pecked him on the lips a couple of times.
Ed turned his head away, his hands rested on Roy's chest as he pushed him away.
"Hey!" Roy pulled him closer, "What's wrong?"
"We've been gone for at least an hour and a half… I just really feel like we should be getting back to your office…"
Roy sighed disappointedly, knowing he was right. "Yeah, alright. Let's go."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
When they got back, Roy sat at his desk and Ed sat on the other side. He was reading about molecular mutation, to inspire himself; it wasn't working.
Roy watched him before out of the corner of his eye he noticed an empty space, he turned to look, seeing each of his picture frames empty.
"What the fuck?" He muttered.
"What?" Ed asked, looking up from his useless book.
"My pictures… are gone…" Roy said, holding a frame and taking it apart to see if the picture was still there somehow.
"What? The ones of the kids?" Ed asked, getting up from his seat.
"And you…. Even Cal…." Roy said.
Ed tried to swallow a lump in his throat, "So then… that means…"
"I don't know! I don't know what it means, Ed!" Roy yelled angrily.
Ed fought the urge to yell back, he took a deep breath, "Calm down." He said softly. He moved to Roy's side, hugging him.
Roy sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "I'm going to see Barnabe… and the general… stay here. Please."
Ed nodded, not wanting to leave the office anyway, his feet were swollen and his back was achy.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
While his small pregnant husband sat patiently waiting in his office, Roy was on a rampage. He went to the colonel's office. Empty.
The general was in an important meeting, or at least that's what he was told. Frustrated, Roy went to the barracks to see if Barnabe was in his room. He knocked on the door getting no response.
His anger by now had boiled down to irritation and determination. He knocked again, no response. His room wasn't far from here so he made his way there to call Ed and tell him he'd be back at the office in fifteen minutes, (He'd been gone nearly 30 already).
He reached for the knob but noticed it jiggling on its own. He watched it turn and the door opened, out stepped Barnabe. He ran right into Roy, his face going white.
"What the fuck are you doing in my room?!" Roy asked angrily
"Brigadier-general…" He stammered "It's good to see you."
"Fuck the introductions, give me back my pictures now." Roy was growling at this point. He felt no sympathy, remorse or concern. He didn't care about his excuses.
"Pictures?" Barnabe said stupidly, "Haven't seen any."
"Cut the crap, Barnabe, I'm going straight to the general as soon as you give me back those pictures you stole."
Barnabe had a sick twisted smirk on his face for just a second, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out six pictures, putting them in Roy's hand.
"You're sick, you know that?" Roy asked
"I'm sorry you see me that way." The colonel said obviously not sorry.
Roy was snarling, he turned back and went to his office.
Ed was still there, waiting expectantly.
"You were gone for so long I wasn't sure what happened…" He said, seeing Roy step into his office.
"I'm fine…" Roy said, "I got all the pictures back."
"Was it Barnabe?" Ed asked.
"Yes." Roy said. He sat down and sorted through the photos real fast, his face contorted into a look of horror.
Ed watched him intently. Roy slammed a fist on his desk, "Dammit."
"What?" He asked.
"This guy is really… fucked up." Roy answered, he slid the pictures across the desk to Ed, "Ed, don't freak out…"
He only shook his head believing Roy to be overreacting, the first photo he saw was the one of the girls and Cal. Barnabe had taken a pen or something and scratched two white 'x' into the film over each of his daughters' eyes. Ed's jaw dropped, he wanted to yell but he couldn't find his voice.
"Don't worry I'm gonna report him." Roy said reassuringly.
Ed moved the photo of their daughters to reveal the next one. Him and Milo. The boy's eyes were scratched out, but his mother remained completely intact. Ed flipped the next photo already feeling sick to his stomach. It was the picture of Roy, Ed and Greyson; again there were 'x's over his son's eyes, and this time one over his mouth too. Roy's head was scribbled over, very messily, as if Barnabe didn't even want to be able to see his face anymore.
"This man needs fucking help." Ed spat angrily.
"There's more." Roy mumbled.
Confused, Ed moved the last picture of Greyson, revealing three photos of him, naked, and again unmarked by Barnabe. His face turned bright red with embarrassment and anger.
"This will get him discharged for sure… on the grounds that he is mentally unstable…" Roy said.
Ed pushed the pictures away feeling sick just glancing at them, "I want those destroyed."
"I hear you hon, I do… but we need to show these to the general. So he can see this infatuation with you."
Ed looked like he was about to cry. He stood up and paced the room, his face was turning red.
"Calm down hon." Roy said, getting up from his desk.
Ed shook his head, mumbling to himself, still pacing.
"Ed take a breath—"
"Could you give me a minute?" Ed asked.
"What?" Roy said confused moving closer to Ed.
"Get out, for your own good. I am so unbelievably angry at you right now." His voice was low and soft, calm; not a good sign for Roy.
Roy left his office, closing the door behind him, a couple of people glanced up from their desks, but then hurriedly went back to work.
He'd been expecting to hear screaming or yelling, or for Ed to raise his voice, but he heard nothing. It was almost too quiet. He tapped the door very gently then opened it. Ed was standing at the desk holding the pictures, shuffling through them, tears dripped down his face.
"Everything alright?" Roy asked, stepping back inside.
Ed wiped his eyes frantically and sniffled, "Y—yeah, I just needed a minute to compose myself I thought I might yell at you if I saw you… and then I thought about destroying the pictures." Roy's eyes widened at this, Ed noticed. "And then I thought that we need these pictures to get Barnabe away from us… and our kids…"
Roy sighed a small breath of relief.
"I don't want to be there with you… when you talk to the general… and show him those." Ed shuddered at the thought.
"It would be nice to have your testimony."
Ed groaned.
"If you want to really make sure he's gone."
"What will even happen? He'll lose his job and become even angrier with us?" Ed asked.
Roy shook his head, "Well. With these, this is unorderly fraternization, threatening behavior—"
"And then what?!" Ed asked, raising his voice. "He won't go to jail! We won't be rid of him."
Roy sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "I don't know…"
"Think things through Roy." Ed picked up the phone and dialed his brother's familiar number.
It only rang a couple of times, "Ah brother, it's good to hear from you." Al answered
"How are you Al?" Ed asked relieved to hear his brother's calm voice.
"I just got all the kids to go down for a nap. Except Milo and Trisha."
"He's not napping…?" Ed asked
"Claims he's not tired… s'alright, he sleeps better at night this way…" Al said.
"Nothing weird has been happening over there?"
"Hmmm." Al hummed, "Nothing out of the ordinary… Well except, your baby has an amazing talent of getting into things he's not supposed to have." Al answered.
"Greyson's been giving you trouble?" Ed asked with an understanding chuckle. "You have to keep your eye on that one, he's a sneaky kid…"
"Not only that, I know he can't walk or crawl, but there are definitely somethings I know he had out of his reach he must have a confidant working for him."
"Al… remind me to watch your kids for a few nights while we're back in town, you sound like you could use a break."
"What did I say brother?" Al asked
"You think my son, my six month old son has my other children doing his bidding… he can't even speak…" Ed was laughing, as was Al.
Roy, although only hearing one side of the conversation was happy to hear his husband's laughter, they'd been on edge for a while now.
"Your kids are great, they miss you both, talk about you every day. I've learned that 'mommy suffered a tragedy when he was little but we aren't allowed to know what it is yet.'" Al chuckled, at that, 'I've learned that 'daddy doesn't like it when doors are slammed', oh, and, 'mommy doesn't like milk. Daddy doesn't like green vegetables…'" Al trailed off.
"Wow, our kids are just a plethora of information"
"I know… if I hadn't had the information memorized before, it's been pounded into my skull now."
Ed chuckled, "I miss you guys, give the kids my love when they wake up."
"I will. We'll see you in a few days, brother."
"Bye Al." Ed hung up the phone taking a deep breath.
"Feeling better now?" Roy asked.
Ed nodded, "The kids are safe. We're fine…"
Roy sat up, "I can't wait to get home to the kids…"
"Me too." Ed sighed.
Roy shook his head, "We need to focus on the task at hand, how are we going to get Barnabe out of our lives?"
Ed shook his head and rubbed his belly absently. "We tattle on him, he gets in trouble… then…"
"He's stripped of his rankings?"
"What if he were institutionalized…?" Ed asked
"He'd need to be proven mentally unstable…"
"He is." Ed said flatly
"I know… but he's hid it this well… he may be a sociopath…"
Ed shook his head, "I don't care anymore, go see the general… tell him what happened, if he wants to speak with me, I'll talk… but I want to stay out of this meeting as much as possible."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Three days later
Ed sat on the bed, legs crossed, reading. His large belly occupied his lap. He was how many months along now? If it was Oliver and Louis' child he'd be around six month pregnant… if it was his and Roy's child then maybe he was only five months along. Still he thought himself unusually large.
Roy laid beside him distracting and hindering Ed when possible.
"Don't you have something better you could be doing right now?" Ed asked, annoyed.
"There's something better the both of us could be doing right now…" Roy purred playfully.
"No." Ed snarled, "Go get your work done."
"My work is done. I'm ready to go home…" Roy whined
"I'm ready too…" Ed said, "So go talk to the general…" Ed said crossly.
"He said he'd call when he has an answer for us."
Ed sighed tiredly. They'd been packed for two days. The plan had been to go home early, but the general had told then to wait, currently he and a few other higher ups were deciding what to do with Barnabe currently. Roy wasn't invited to the meetings since he was biased and directly concerned with the matter.
Ed stretched, he felt Roy's gaze, "it's rude to stare." He said
"Sorry you're just… you're so big…" Roy began to rub his belly in a circular motion.
Ed scoffed, "Don't remind me."
Roy kissed his stomach and then pressed his ear up against it listening. He heard Ed's heartbeat, a rhythmic and steady thumping. The baby's was much faster. Listening made Roy's own heart quicken. He closed his eyes, listening intently.
"Roy…" Ed said, running his fingers through his jet black hair.
His eyes fluttered open. "What?" He mumbled into Ed's belly.
"It's time to wake up."
"I wasn't sleeping." Roy muttered
"You've been asleep for an hour and forty two minutes."
"Have you been counting?"
"It's hard not to count the time when someone falls asleep on you." Ed murmured.
They both fell silent and Roy continued to listen to the heartbeats. The little thumping got to be seemingly more and more frequent. He felt a bit panicked by the quickening but continued to listen as though to make sure the baby was alright.
It continued to get quicker until Roy realized what he was hearing was two different heartbeats. "Holy shit." He said lifting his head.
"What?" Ed asked casually, glancing at Roy from his book.
"I hear… I hear two heartbeats."
"Well I'd assume so Roy… Mine, and the baby's." Ed went back to reading his book.
Roy shook his head, and then pressed his ear back to Ed's belly. He moved his mouth, imitating the words, "one… two… three" with his lips. "There are three heartbeats…" Roy said.
"What?" Ed asked stupidly, "Are you sure? Are you positive…?"
Roy sat up again, "I'm pretty sure… I mean Oliver would be more certain… but how hard is it to differentiate three heartbeats?"
"Are you sure?" Ed asked again.
"That's the third time you've asked me…" Roy said flatly.
They both fell silent again and Roy continued to listen trying to reaffirm what he was hearing.
The phone rang wildly on the desk, causing both of them to jump. Roy got up and moved the few feet to the desk, and answered.
"Brigadier-General Mustang." A booming voice said loudly. "At the moment, our associates have advocated for you as well as the Fullmetal to be sent home for a month so we can reassess our staff. We'd like you to continue your normal paperwork, as well as for your husband to work on his research."
"And Barnabe, sir?" Roy asked eagerly.
"Like I said brigadier general, positions are going to be reevaluated, Barnabe is being suspended and sent back to basic training… I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Go home, be with your kids… Get some work done… we'll let you know when we've come to a decision."
"Yes, sir…" Roy said.
"Goodbye brigadier general."
"Bye sir." Roy hung up the phone.
"Was that the general?" Ed asked slowly maneuvering off the bed so he could stand up.
"Careful hon…" Roy said worriedly, noticing how hard it was for Ed to heave himself up.
"Stop doting." Ed said with an annoyed sigh, "are we going home or what?"
"Oh… yeah… the general is sending us home for a month so they can reevaluate their staff."
"And Barnabe?" Ed asked sounding hopeful
"Suspended, and forced to take a refresher course on basic training and regulations."
Ed smiled, and breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's go home now then…"
"hold on there," Roy said, slowing down his overeager husband, grabbing hold of him by his elbow "The next train doesn't leave for another forty-five minutes."
Ed sighed and sat back down, "What are we going to do for half an hour?"
Roy smirked, "I have an idea." He purred, kneeling on the ground in front of Ed.
Ed stared down at his husband's face, his eyes were dark and serious, but also loving and passionate. He could feel the blush rising to the apples of his cheeks while he leaned in to kiss Roy. Placing one hand on his husband's shoulder to steady himself.
Roy wrapped his arms around Ed tightly, holding him close. He kissed his collarbone, neck, cheeks, and finally his lips. Roy knew how to tease Ed, just enough so that he could get what he wanted.
"Do you want to leave South City tonight?" Ed asked
"Of course… why do you ask…?" Roy said curiously.
"I just… well you talked about spending our one day together… that we still haven't had…"
"Have we not?" Roy asked, he looked like he was thinking hard
Ed shook his head, "I was just thinking we might spend the rest of the day here… then leave early tomorrow morning…"
"I'm not sure that's the best idea…" Roy said, tucking a few stray strands of hair behind Ed's ear. He saw his husband's face fall. Knowing Ed, he probably jumped to conclusions, thinking Roy didn't find him attractive enough to spend the whole day in bed or something ridiculous along those lines.
"It's just… I want to see the kids… and it's already been half a day… I feel like we'd have wasted it if we use it now… besides… I told you this already… when we use that day up, you're going to give me another baby… and you're already pregnant, so what's the fun in that…?"
Ed was bright red, "Okay… whatever…" he shook his head, turning away from Roy.
"I'm not turning you down Ed, I just want to go home… We can still have sex if you'd like…" Roy said with a grin.
Ed shook his head, "no it's fine… you're right… let's get to the train station so we can get home…" Ed picked up a bag, which Roy promptly took from him. The pregnant blonde sighed with irritation.
"You're pregnant." Roy said sternly.
"It's not that heavy!" Ed said, stomping his foot.
Roy didn't respond. He slung a large duffle bag over his back and then picked up their other bags. He had to put everything down to slip on his coat and shoes. In which time, Ed grabbed a piece of luggage, holding it tight.
Roy got up, and picked up their two bags before glancing at Ed and then the suitcase he held. "Give it here…" Roy urged calmly.
"I want to help it's not too much trouble."
"You're what? Six months pregnant, and with twins possibly."
Ed groaned, "Don't even… I doubt it… I'm carrying this, it's only like twelve pounds… our kids weigh more than this…"
"Some of them…" Roy grumbled.
Ed tsked and sighed.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It had been a long trip, their first train was late, so they didn't arrive back in Resembool until it was nearly eight in the morning. Ed had managed to sleep, he could sleep through anything. Roy wasn't as lucky, he got a few hours here and there but remained awake most of the rides.
They walked from the station to Al and Winry's house. Ed was bouncy, excited to see his kids after two weeks away, the longest they'd ever been separated. They didn't bother knocking, They knew their family didn't care.
Expecting to find a house hustling and bustling with activity they walked into an empty house quiet. The back door was open a warm summer breeze blew in and they could children screaming and laughing as well as Winry and Al's voices.
They followed the sounds out the back door, Where Cal lay on the porch. When she realized her masters, or more importantly, her Ed was returning she lost her shit. She began to bark and wiggle excitedly weaving in out and around Ed's legs. Her tail wagged as she whimpered and jumped on Ed.
Roy yanked her down and she sheepishly began to lick his hands and give him kisses.
The dog had caught the kids' attention.
"Mahma! Dah-eeee" Oliver screamed, running clumsily to her parents.
"Daddy! Mommeee!" Milo squealed.
Louisa just ran, beating both of her siblings, she the first one in her mother's arms. She clung to Ed and he could only pet her short silky black hair, so relieved to see her again and hold her.
Oliver came next, she gave her mother, a kiss and a hug. Lulu and Oliver slipped away to their dad, sitting in his lap, he began to run his fingers through their dark hair, and their matching eyes stared at each other. Roy kissed her forehead.
"I missed you sweetie." Roy said.
Milo made it to his mother last. He held his mother tight, Ed could hear him sniffling, but he decided not to point it out, cause Milo would just deny it.
Ed hugged Milo and placed kisses on his cheeks and on top of his head. He let go and Milo went to his father, giving him tight hugs and kisses.
"We missed you kids." Roy said with a smile.
"iss'd oo too daddeee." Oliver cooed.
Ed gave his brother a hug and then Winry, "Where's Grey?" He asked.
"Upstairs, I last checked on him ten minutes ago and he was still sleeping…"
"Thanks for watching them…" Ed gushed, "I really appreciate, I'll return the favor anytime, but if you don't excuse me, I'm gonna go check on my baby…"
"Oh. Yeah." Al smiled.
Ed scurried inside.
"Where are you going?" Roy asked from where he sat tackled by their children.
"Greyson is upstairs!" Ed said excitedly, he ran up the stairs to the spare bedroom.
He pushed the door open a crack and saw Greyson in the crib in the corner. The room was scattered with his children's clothes, the bed was messy and a few of Roy's shirt's were strewn across the pillows. On the nightstand were pictures of Ed, Al, and Winry. There was another photo with Ed and Roy and tiny baby Milo.
He noticed his son squirming in the crib, he was awake. Ed looked over the side. Grey cracked a smile and kicked his legs excitedly. He sputtered and huffed, chortling eagerly. He was reaching for his mother, arms outstretched.
He scooped him up, giving him a kiss, "I missed you Grey…" Ed pressed his lips to Greyson's forehead.
