Chapter 31

"You were crying this morning, in your sleep…" Roy mumbled pressing lazy kisses to all of Ed's visible skin.

"I-I wasn't asleep…" Ed stuttered, hardly able concentrate from lack of sleep and the shower of affection from his husband.

"Ed…" Roy sighed, "was it because I was gonna leave…?"

"Well… That and I'm just worried…"

"It's not good for the babies if you're stressed out."

"Shut up about the babies… Right now I would like nothing more than to get some sleep, without you pestering me." Ed said sternly, inching away from Roy on the bed.

"Babe, don't be like that…" Roy said covering the distance, he wrapped his arms around Ed and pulled him to his chest. he kissed his husband's temple and ear.

Ed scoffed, and was silent for a while before he sighed and turned to face Roy "I just… I need you to promise me that if one of these babies is ours… You'll be around… I can't… I-I can't do it without you…" Ed whimpered.

"Hey… Shh… We've been over this" Roy said he hugged Ed tightly to his chest, just holding him for a few minutes. When he went to kiss his face he discovered him fast asleep in his arms.

Roy readjusted himself and then cuddled up Ed for the night, falling asleep not long after Edward.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

"Sweetheart- this is really good.." Roy said looking up from the draft of the report Ed had written.

"Don't try to sugar coat it, what needs fixing…?" Ed asked, feeding Grey a bite of mashed carrots and potatoes

Roy chuckled, "I'm being serious, here," he cleared his throat before reading, "'subject x's reactions vary; emotion and the intensity of that emotion play a key role in the manifestation of their abilities. X is able to disassociate molecules of objects- sometimes even themselves, and reform the molecules in a different location, hence; the ability to teleport molecularly.'"

"Good enough to keep my position under you?" Ed asked sounding rather doubtful.

"Ed." Roy sounded upset, "don't do that. Put it out of your head." He sighed tiredly, "I think if you keep it vague you keep them wanting more they'll start throwing offers your direction you just have to wait for one you like…"

"I don't want them to fund research on our son." Ed said flatly.

"Not Greyson, I would never suggest that… just molecular teleportation in general."

Ed sighed, "you think it's that good?" He asked trying to keep from smiling, a light blush flooded his cheeks

"I would add some data for the control just so they can see it on paper, other than that, one more revision correcting grammatical errors and you're golden."

"Mommy's hair is golden" Lulu chirped with a mouthful of strawberries.

"An' Grey too!" Ollie gasped

Milo grabbed at his curls trying to examine them, he sighed.

"What's wrong, Milo?" Roy asked

"I just- I just don't like my hair at all." He sighed dramatically- oh the life of a three year old was so hard.

"But you look adorable." Ed countered

"I don't look like you er daddy…" Milo said sadly.

"You look like both of us." Roy said

Milo grabbed a fistful of his black curls "what is this?" He asked his parents, his tone both confused and demanding.

At this point Ed and Roy couldn't contain their amusement they both burst into laughter at the sheer adorableness of their eldest son. "Milo, you are a very handsome young man." Roy said, and at that Milo reddened "handsome like you an' mommy?" He asked

"You think we're handsome?" Ed asked, rather touched.

"You n' daddee r' very pretty, mama." Oliver reaffirmed.

"Well then I hope you realize as our children that makes you all twice as beautiful." Ed cooed to his kids

"Twice?" Louisa asked

"Two times as much, both me and mommy combined." Roy explained she nodded in understanding and took a big bite of her pbj

Ed smiled and shook his head, "you don't think it's too ramble-y?" He asked returning to the conversation of work.

"Where?" Roy asked

"The third paragraph…"

"Hmm." He hummed as he re-read said passage, "maybe cut it a little shorter, say molecular diffusion and leave it at that…. The less you give them the more they'll want…"

"I don't want it to be too vague, and make it seem like I haven't done any work.." Ed said turning away from Greyson to face his husband.

Roy sighed, "don't over think things Ed. If during the review the general has any doubts about your work or work ethic I will set em straight."

Ed smiled at that, "you're a little biased…"

"Maybe, but I know how seriously you take your work…"

Ed cleared his throat, "when are you supposed to go back to work by the way? Your suspension was forfeit because Barnabe was proven guilty…"

"I've got something in the works, don't you worry your pretty little head…" Roy cooed

Ed blushed at this, making His husband chuckle all the more.

"But if you have to go back-"

"Babe, I've been telling you not to worry." Roy interrupted.

Ed sighed and mentally made a note that the next time Roy called him babe he'd smack him. "I could relax if you would just tell me what's going on…" he said rather annoyed, "Communication… right… it's not healthy we both keep to ourselves."

Roy was silent for a while, before sighing "Well… It's not official but… The military offered me compensation for all the trouble they put us through, ignoring our reports on Barnabe, false suspension, and just the general harassment we've suffered through, and so I've been working to exchange that money in hopes they might let me work from home…"

Ed felt his chest flutter with relief, "for how long?" He asked

Roy shrugged, "forever possibly… of course I'd have to show up for staff meetings, and as long as I find a supervisor whom I can trust to relay my messages I will be allowed to-" Roy stopped as he saw Ed's mood had significantly improved, "this isn't for sure Ed," he reminded his rather aloof husband.

"I know." Ed said, sounding like he in fact did not know.

Roy sighed and shook his head, leaving his beloved to romanticize the situation.

"What?" Ed asked

"Nothing." Roy said shaking his head.

"You think I'm getting my hopes up" Ed responded, "well, Roy Mustang let me tell you, you are the most handsome charming man i've known. You're really quite clever and… witty… funny..." Roy stared at Ed taking in all the compliments and basking in the rare slip of his husband's moody guise.

Ed cleared his throat, turning red as he took notice of The undivided attention he was receiving from his husband. "point is…" he said refusing to make eye contact. "People like you, and because of that you can pretty much get whatever you want"

Roy smiled, "well I appreciate your confidence in me, and I especially enjoyed hearing your inner thoughts… What a wonderful ego boost."

"Like you need one," Ed countered, Roy smiled and rubbed his back in slow gentle circles, he leaned in to peck a kiss from his lips.

"No, but I appreciate the show of affection." Roy said with just a flash of his dazzling smile.

"You get enough of that already." Ed almost scoffed in annoyance.

"I could always use more of my husband's affection."

Ed rolled his eyes.

"Daddy stop." Louisa whined

"What's wrong my little Lulu?" He asked

"You always kiss him and tease him an mommy gets embarrassed."

"It's alright Louisa, your father is just flirting with me." Ed reassured her.

"Flirting?" She asked

"It's when he teases me to show his affection…" Ed answered absently, trying to get Grey to open up for another bite of baby mush.

"Daddy teases me all the time, is he flirting with me too?" Milo asked.

"No, no I am not…" Roy answered, "as a matter of fact the only person I flirt with is your mother… Flirting is sort of a thing people do when they're attracted to each other… like a couple..."

"Like you an mommy, and Unca Al an, Aunnie Win." Oliver piped up.

"Ooh! It's the type of stuff you do to people when you want to kiss em an' have a baby with them…" Milo said in understanding

"I guess…" Ed said, knowing that was all his son was able to comprehend at this point. "But that's not what our relationship is about."

"We've been together for a long time, Milo… our love is about more than just that…"

"You were in love with mommy before we were born?" Milo asked.

Roy nodded.

"How old were you an mommy wen you loved 'im?" Oliver asked.

"I still love your mommy… Very much so…" Roy said with a smile.

"Wen you first loved mommy did he know?" Milo asked

"No, I don't think he did…" Roy said with a chuckle, "I don't think I even knew…"

Ed dropped the spoon into the jar of baby food and sighed, "can you all stop talking about me like I'm not here…"

"Sorry babe." Chuckling harder now, Roy placed a kiss on Ed's cheek before he got up out of his chair to fix himself a cup of coffee.

"Mommy how old were you when you met daddy…"

"Hmm." Ed hummed in thought, "I was about… Fourteen? But we didn't become a couple till I was older."

"Fourteen sounds about right, considering you were a little brat…" Roy said as he poured his cup full of coffee.

Ed didn't argue with that, he held out a spoonful of mush for Greyson, but he wasn't having any of it.

"How old were you daddy?" Louisa asked.

"He was probably-" Ed started

"It doesn't matter…" Roy mumbled.

"I wanna know." Milo objected

"It's not important…" Roy said a little louder.

All of the kids were silent now, and the cheerful atmosphere was replaced with an awkward air.

Roy sighed, and all the tension dissipated, "I was about… 28." He answered.

"How old are you now?" Milo chirped.

Roy sighed, "I'll be thirty-five years old in a couple of months.

Ed scoffed, "You're not that old!"

"Yes I am, I am fourteen years your senior..." Roy said objectively.

Ed sighed, he was right.

"What mommy?" Oliver asked

"Are you kids done with lunch?" He asked changing the subject.

"I know daddy still has some of the candy left from south city maybe if you ask him really nicely he'll give you a piece…"

The kids got excited at the prospect of having candy and all eagerly went to jump on their father as soon as they saw him pull out the candy box from on top of the fridge.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

"Why do you always do that?" Ed asked, lifting his head to peer at Roy, they laid snuggled up together in bed. Spending the kids' naptime relaxing. Ed's chin rested on Roy's shoulder

"What? Are you referring to what I said at lunch?" Roy asked.

Ed nodded.

Roy sighed, "I don't mean to… I just… I don't like being so much older than you… I feel as though I'm running out of time..."

"Don't say that Roy…" Ed said sternly. "I hate it when you talk like this."

Roy sighed, "I'm sorry…"

"Can't you see I'm terrified of being alone… I wouldn't be able to survive without you…" Ed said feeling as though he was about to burst into tears.

Roy must've seen this because his face softened and he wrapped his arms around Ed in a protective hug. Now Ed couldn't help but burst into tears

"What's wrong?" Roy asked

Ed shook his head and wrapped his arms around Roy's neck, "I don't want you to leave me..." he whimpered into his shoulder.

"I would never…" Roy said, kissing Ed's face, his eyes, cheeks, nose, and forehead. "I love you too much, I'd be lost without you… plus if you didn't have me, who would take care of you?"

"Me hopefully…" Roy looked a bit disheartened, "Oh no sweetie, I didn't mean… I don't-" Ed sighed, "You're my other half… you know?"

Roy smiled at that as he pet Ed's hair. "I do…" He agreed, locking eyes with each other. Ed's cheeks were rosy with tiredness. Slowly their heads drew closer, they could feel each other's breath on their lips. "I love you…" Roy whispered before their lips were sealed together.

Ed chuckled then their kiss started to deepen and Ed slung a leg over Roy's torso so he was straddling him. His husbands hands slid under his shirt the metal of his wedding band, burned against his flesh Ed snuggled into the touch, thrilled feeling the spark between the two of them. Their bond was much deeper than words and paperwork. They were the love of each other's lives.

Roy chuckled as his hands began to wander, Ed shuddered and then was distracted when Roy's cold fingers nimbly unclasped the button to his pants.

Ed got up out of bed, ignoring Roy's whines and protests. He swiftly removed both his bottom layers and then crawled back over Roy, resuming where they had left off.

His fingers traced the outline of Roy's ever hardening cock through his pants, and then he ground down on his hips, or tried to at least.

"I need a minute." Roy said clearing his throat. He flung an arm over his face.

Ed looked taken aback by the fact that his husband needed a minute to compose himself.

"Are you okay…?" Ed asked finally breaking the silence, which seemed to have lasted far too long.

"I'm fine babe." Came his response.

"Did you want to stop?" Ed asked.

"well how far did you want to take this?"

He turned red, "a-all the way?" Ed stuttered.

"You sound unsure…" Roy said moving his arm so he could look at his husband.

"Because you seem…" Ed started.

"Only trying to restrain myself…" Roy said calmly, "I'd love to ravish you to pieces right now but-"

"-Then do it." Ed interrupted.

"What?" Roy asked dumbly

"You heard me… Ravish me, bend me over and fuck me…" Ed said and Roy's eyes widened a little in surprise.

"You're sure? Because right now you're seven months along with two babies."

"Sh-shut up." Ed said as he ground down on Roy's dick again. He groaned In response and his hips jotted upwards at the sensation.

"I want you inside me…" Ed moaned desperately now, grinding down on his husband's covered cock in vain.

In one swift movement, Roy removed his pants and underwear.

Ed blinked trying to figure out what just happened, but before he could his mouth was pressed against Roy's and his ass was filled with fingers, stretching and scissoring him so he'd be wide enough. They stayed like that for a few minutes until Ed whimpered in pain, his overly-hardened cock twitching, he reached down to give himself the release he ached for but before he could, he found his arms pinned behind his back, secured at the wrist by Roy's free hand. He squirmed uncomfortably "Roy!" He objected loudly.

He only smirked in response, "hold on baby, you're almost ready… Just be patient…"

Ed whimpered and shuddered at the sensation of being filled, "Roy I'm gonna come… P-please!" He begged

"Not yet… Just a little bit longer…. Surely after all these years together you've built up some kind of tolerance"

Ed shook his head desperately, thinking it impossible to even sit a moment longer. he was stuck in this state and his husband refused to give him the release he needed to send him over the edge. He closed his eyes and pressed his forehead to Roy's shoulder, sobbing softly at the mix of pain and pleasure that had been drawn out for far too long.

Then he felt empty, horribly empty and his gut clenched. He lifted his head to look at Roy, his eyes filled with tears.

"I told you you could wait a couple of seconds." Roy said with a soft smile. He stuck a couple of kisses to Ed's lips, then kissed away his tears.

"I need to come…" Ed whimpered painfully

"I know you do baby…" Roy said calmly. His hands were now resting on Ed's hips as he guided him down.

As soon as Ed felt Roy's cock at his entrance he scrabbled to grab onto something to keep himself upright. His hands held tightly to His husband's shoulders. He plunged his hips down. And almost screamed had it not been for the fact that three of their children were sleeping in the rooms next door. His vision was blinded by pleasure at being filled once more, but by something much better than fingers.

"Did you want me to take over?" Roy asked looking up at his husband who was grinding down on his dick very slowly.

Ed shook his head a blush had filled his face and he leaned down to give Roy a kiss. "This is pretty much-" he let out a long drawn out moan, one that made Roy's cock twitch.

"All I can take …" Ed managed to say. He kept thrusting down, little movements, enough for him, but not nearly enough for Roy to feel satisfied.

"Then let me help you… You're the one who said you wanted to be ravished." Roy complained

Ed made a particularly big movement which caused Roy to grunt then clear his throat.

Ed slowed to a stop and then Roy- to Ed's amazement managed to maneuver them without having to pull out. He was on top now, gazing down at his little pregnant husband, his belly covered by the fabric of his maternity shirt.

"P-please." Ed squirmed and somehow got his husband's dick a little deeper inside him, "It hurts I-".

Before Ed could finish his sentence he felt roy's cock slide back in further, and then out, then back in, until they found a rhythm.

Roy was true to his word when he said he wanted to ravish Ed. As they both got closer to reaching their peak he had legs over each shoulder, Ed's hips hovering above the bed as he was pounded into again and again. Ed whimpered and cried out but when Roy stopped to ask if he was okay, he was smacked and told to keep going.

"R-Roy…" Ed called out as he got closer to climax. He moved his hand trying to grab hold of Roy.

"I'm right here baby…" Roy purred. He took Ed's hand and laced their fingers together, "right here…" He said kissing one of Ed's knuckles.

Roy could tell he wasn't gonna last much longer, it didn't seem like his husband was going to either.

Ed quivered with every movement, his back arched up off the bed, it was a miracle he'd made it this far. He felt Ed squeezing around him, tighter and tighter, almost unbearably so… the tension was building up, "R-Roooy" he moaned out in climax, pulling Roy right off the edge with him.

They stilled, reeling, just trying to catch their breaths. Roy had dropped Ed's legs and was leaned over now, his head resting in the crook of Ed's neck. His small husband ran his fingers through his short hair.

"I love you…" Was whispered back and forth as they exchanged kisses.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Roy answered the door, opening it wide to find his son, niece, and brother-in-law standing on the doorstep. "Why do you knock?" Roy asked with a chuckle.

"Oh-uh- well…" Al stuttered

"Daddy!" Milo hugged his legs, in response Roy ran his fingers through his mop of dark curls.

"Did you have fun with uncle, auntie and your cousins?"

"Yeah!" He said excitedly, "look daddy I made-"

"Milo… Your sisters are still asleep…" Ed said from where he sat on the floor in front of the couch, playing with Greyson.

He lowered his voice, "daddy I made these for you an mommy!" He held out a brown paper bag that clanked when it moved. The outside of the bag was decked out in crayon drawings. One side had the sun and the sunset, the other had the moon and night sky with stars- Milo was quite the little artist.

"Thank you, I'll open it in a minute, go inside alright…? Trish you too."

She looked up at Roy, "I helped Milo paint those for you Uncle!"

"You did?" He asked and she nodded before slipping past him to sit on the couch beside her cousin.

"You're not gonna stick around Al?" Roy asked, as the younger man was still standing on their doorstep.

"I could spare a few minutes…" Al said stepping into the house, Roy closed the door behind him

"I'll get you a cup of coffee, Al..." Ed held onto the couch to push himself up, he picked up Greyson and set him on the couch between his brother and cousin.

"Make sure he doesn't fall over…" Ed warned looking between Milo and Trisha.

"I will." Trisha chirped happily.

"Mommy! You an daddy need to open what I made you!"

"Just a moment sweetie…" Ed said moving to the kitchen his knees buckled and he grabbed onto the couch for support.

"You alright there, hon?" Roy asked taking hold of Ed's elbow.

He nodded, "fine… I'm fine," He said, pulling away his elbow.

"Uncle, is Ollie an' Lou still asleep?" Trisha asked, peeking over the side of the couch.

"Yeah but they'll be up shortly…" Ed answered her with a smile.

"Wait! Daddy you have to open your an' mommy's present,". Milo said for the third time, he was excited, following his mother, father, and uncle into the kitchen.

"Yes… Okay, Milo, okay." Roy said. He set the bag down on the table and Milo watched eagerly as his father pulled out a mug that was painted with figures of people.

Trisha entered the room holding Greyson, but barely managing to do so. "Umm…" She said nervously. Al reached down and took little Grey, afraid his daughter might drop him, "you excited to stay the night?" He asked tousling his daughter's hair. Trish nodded, smiling before she got distracted with Calces, and began to pet the white pup.

"Look! There's you an, mommy, an' Cal, an then me, Louisa, Ollie, Greyson, an the new baby."

"Thank you Milo, I love it, I'll use it all the time" Roy said, Milo leaned up on his tippee toes and Roy bent down and gave his son a kiss.

"Mommy now yours!" He chirped eagerly.

Ed smiled and hummed, "What could it be?" He asked reaching in. He felt the glass handle of a coffee mug painted with a landscape. He recognized the inn and mountainside when they'd gone away so Ed could research. He'd been pregnant with Greyson and neglected to tell Roy about it.

"Remember mommy we played in the hotspring… and you were gone for a really long time and Daddy was worried but then you came back an we played more in the hot spring… 'member mommy?"

Ed nodded his head, he'd been miserable the rest of their stay, worried that he'd lost the baby. "Yeah… I remember…" Ed sighed deeply, not thrilled his hormones were making him feel down. Greyson was obviously fine, but the memories really hit him hard… making him feel sad..

"I love it sweetie…" Ed said ruffling Milo's curls, forcing a smile, it was really well done.

"So when are the babies due?" Al asked clearing his throat, trying to break the silence.

Ed sighed, "A few months? Maybe two?" He offered with a shrug. "Or I guess the C-section would be coming up in just a month…"

Al began to chuckle, "You two are in over your heads…"

Roy began to laugh and Ed puffed his cheeks out angrily, "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, his tone a little unfriendly to his younger brother.

Al shrugged, "I meant no offense brother, but both of you work- supposedly full time, you have four kids, working on your fifth, and possibly even a sixth." Roy and Ed both paled at the thought of the two babies being both of theirs. "A New house… and a dog."

"We've been here for a while now…" Ed countered.

"Yet there are still boxes around the house." Al said. "It's okay to admit that you need help… I don't want you to feel that because I'm your little brother you can't depend on me for help… I have two kids of my own…"

Ed sighed, "Yeah… I know… if Roy has to go back to work, I might be needing a lot more of your help…"

"If? Are you going to quit your job Roy?" Al asked, sounding rather confused.

Roy laughed, "Nothing like that…."

Grey squealed and gurgled at his father, smiling, and laughing silent huffs of air. His father smiled back, "Hi baby…" Roy said, reaching a hand out to stroke his hair. He cleared his throat, "but I am negotiating my hours with work right now… and I'm getting ready for my paternity leave so we'll see what happens."
"How many months are you getting?" Al asked, readjusting his hold on Greyson.

"I think… it's just one… but again, I'm working on that..."

"Well Ed you know you can always come and stay at our house while Roy is out of town…"

Ed nodded, "But I'm not too worried about it…" He said taking a seat at the table.

Roy was standing behind him, rubbing his back, "I think we're gonna be fine…"

One of Al's eyebrows cocked in confusion, "If you're sure… I just thought… last time Ed you were a little overwhelmed…"

"Well it isn't official, but I think I'm gonna start working from home."

"Really?" Al asked incredulously, "Would the military actually allow that?"

Roy shrugged, "With all the shit they've put us through, I think that they're just focused on keeping me happy…"

"Language, Roy…" Ed reminded, quietly.

Roy cleared his throat, "point is… they know I can pretty much go anywhere I want…"

"Maybe they're realizing you're much more capable than they initially thought… that they don't have to babysit you."

Roy chuckled, "It's about damn time."

Ed sighed, "Okay kids, lets go play in the living room… Milo has Trisha seen the train engines you got from South City?"

Milo nodded, "I think so…" He gasped excitedly, "Mommy can we have some of the candy from South City?"

"Umm." Ed started

"Please? Trish hasn tried any!" He begged clasping his hands together.

"Mommy…"

Ed looked up noticing the girls were both awake from their nap, "Milo why don't you go ask your daddy about the candy."

Milo took Trish's arm, "Its got bugs in it…" He said excitedly, leading her into the kitchen.

Ed went up stairs taking one of his daughters hands in each of his own, walking with them down the stairs.

Milo and Trish wanded back into the living room sucking on the amber colored candy with insects inside. Both of their parents had been surprised that their kids were even willing to try to the candy.

"Mommy…." Louisa whined, "I wan candy too."

"No… not right now sweetie, you just woke up from a nap… you and your sister need to eat something healthy first."

Oliver began to cry, still not quite awake, "Mahma I wan some candy."

"I know baby… in a little bit after we get some food in you…"

Now lulu was tearing up as well, "Mio and Tish got some…" She said whimpering.

Ed sighed. "Girls I said after you eat."

Roy stepped out of the kitchen, seeing Ed and the girls descending the stairs

"Whats wrong girls?" He asked.

"Daddy…" Ollie cried, "Daddee…" Once they reached the bottom of the stairs she went over to her daddy, "Mommy said we can't have candy."
Ed sighed, "I said not until you eat… Roy tell them..."

"Don tell daddee that mommy!" Oliver screamed angrily, she began to cry harder.

"Hey you don't speak to your mother like that, ever!" Roy said sternly.

Louisa wiped her tears scared her father's wrath might turn to her. Oliver sniveled and wiped her snot and tears still whimpering.

"Your mommy is right… you can't just have candy… it's not good for you… Lets get a little snack and then you can have some candy after that… come on girls…" Roy said leading his twins into the kitchen.

Al came out carrying Greyson, "I think I'm going to head home now…" He held Grey out to Ed.

"Oh… Okay… Al... You and Win have a good weekend… if you decide you want us to watch Elaine give us a call we can come get her or you can drop her off… or whatever…"

Al shook his head, "Oliver and Louis are watching her."
"Really?" Ed asked. Roy reemerged from the kitchen.

"Yeah, they're sort of wanting to take care of her for practice…"

"Oh.." Ed said quietly, he looked at Greyson resting in his arms, smiling up at his mother.

Al sighed, "Ed, you need to stop worrying… seriously it's unhealthy, you have to understand that you have absolutely no control over this."

Roy rubbed Ed's back comfortingly, "I keep telling him that…"

"See but I did… I did have control over the situation and I made stupid choices… Roy and I both did."

"Knock it off Ed…" Roy said his tone stern.

"They told us not to…" Ed said, his voice weaker.

Roy shook his head, "but we did, and now you're having two babies. One could be theirs and one could be ours…"

"Both could be ours…" Ed said.

"Or both could be theirs." Roy retorted. Ed's face fell at that, and Roy sighed, "I don't mean to argue with you, I just want you to realize what's done is done, and worrying would only make things worse. You worried terribly about Greyson and he's completely fine." Roy reminded him

Ed nodded in understanding, "Okay… I'll try to unwind."

"Good." Al said with a smile.

"Daddy you leaving?" Trish asked, running to her father.

"Yes, I'm going to go and spend some time with mommy." Al said crouching down to her height.

"Okay you have fun with Mommy, I'm gonna have fun with Uncle Roy and Uncle Ed…"

Al smiled, "Okay. I'll come get you when the weekend is over…"

"Because I have to go back to school?" Trisha asked

Al nodded in response, "I love you sweetie, I'll see you in a few days."

"Bye daddy." Trisha said.

"Bye Unca…" HIs nieces and nephew chimed their farewells to him and he left.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ed was sitting on the couch rocking a crying Greyson, Milo, Trish, and the twins sped around the house chasing the dog, and each other.

"Kids!" Ed tried to yell over the laughter, screaming, barking, and crying-or Greyson's version of it anyway. He was actually quite loud when he was very upset and this was probably the most extreme he'd ever seen it. Grey's whole face was red as he struggled for breath between whispy shrieks .

One of Roy's arms slid around Ed's waist, "Babe, I think I'm gonna take them out on an adventure in the woods."

"Please…" Ed begged, rocking Grey, "He needs a nap and with all of them inside I'm gonna go crazy."

"It's raining… did trish bring her rain gear… I'd hate to have to stop by her house… and bother Al and Win."

"I wore my rain boots over Uncle…" Trish said

"I'm sure we have an extra coat around here somewhere." Ed muttered, still trying to quiet their little son.

"Daddy I have one!" Milo chirped he jogged upstairs to his room and when he returned he was carrying a raincoat with a train engine running along the hem, which on him reached his knees but on Trish it only reached her waist.

"Will this one do Trisha?" Roy asked her.

"Do we have a bigger one?" Ed asked. He'd managed to calm Greyson slightly the boy now whimpered, letting out choked sobs as his mother comforted him and rubbed his back.

"Girls get ready to go for a walk with daddy."

"Yay!" Louisa squealed.

"Coming!" Oliver yelled.

The kids got ready with the speed of light.

Roy whistled for Cal and she came bounding into the living room.

"Bye babe… I'll see you when we get home…" Roy said, buttoning his raincoat.

"Don't be gone for more than two hours…" Ed said, "Please…"

Roy nodded and leaned in, giving Ed a kiss. He pulled away then pecked him on the cheek, "We'll be back… try to get this bugger to sleep."

"I will…" Ed said with a smile. The door closed, rattling the house slightly. Everything was silent, Grey huffed at his mother, blowing his lips and making sounds.

"Lets put you down for a nap baby…" Ed said, taking him upstairs. He turned off the lights as he went. He went to his bedroom and closed the door behind him. Grey was reaching for his mother's hair, in a better mood now that all the noise was gone.

It was strange, but Ed was sure the reason Greyson got upset when the house got really loud was because he knew people had a hard time hearing him.

Ed laid Grey down on his back and lined his side of the bed with pillows. He curled up on the other side, opposite his son, Ed watched for a bit as Grey chewed on his fingers and looked around the bedroom when he finally focused on his mother, he smiled and took his hands from his mouth huffing excitedly and kicking his legs.

Ed smiled back and then placed a hand on his son's chest gently stroking. He saw his son's eyelids get heavier and heavier. Before they completely closed and his baby was sound asleep. Ed decided there was too much that needed to be done, to nap.

He silently got out of bed and then went downstairs. He cleaned up the mess from lunch, washing dishes and throwing away trash. Once he was done with that he remembered what Al said about the remaining boxes. He went into Roy's office and sighed noticing the unorganized stack of papers on his desk that had been waiting there for far too long. "I need to give him time to work…" Ed said to himself. He straightened up the stack, trying to sort them into papers. Work and junk. Thankfully most of it was junk. Ed tossed it in the trash next to the door. He didn't dare empty for fear something might've actually been important.

The boxes were pushed to the back of the room, there were three. Ed opened the first one and took out the picture frames setting them aside for now. He began to unpack books taking only one or two at a time. He put them up on the bookshelves that lined the left wall.

He then picked up the picture frames, and set one on the desk. He smiled, Ed loved that picture. It was back when they'd first started sleeping together-casually… way back when, almost five years ago. Ed was sitting on Roy's desk, and The Colonel Roy Mustang sat in his chair, facing him. Hughes had snapped the picture, at the time Ed worried someone would find it and get them in trouble, but Roy had assured him it was fine.

Ed looked at the next picture it was of Al and Winry at their wedding. They both looked stunning and Ed had never been more proud of his brother. Winry's dress was flowing and simple, her hair was braided around her head. She looked like a goddess.

Ed wanted to put that one upstairs in his bedroom.

The last picture was another one from Al and Winry's wedding. This one was of Ed and Roy. In the picture Ed was dressed in a suit, Roy was wearing his military uniform, looking sharp as usual, he held a drink in his hand as he looked down at Ed, the photo was taken from afar as they had a conversation. He looked at himself, small and nervous looking, a blush was on his cheeks, no doubt Roy was teasing him or flirting. He set that one on the shelf above the desk, standing on his toes to reach.

He got to work unpacking the remaining boxes which were mostly just books and military souvenirs, like Roy's medals and name patches and pins. He put everything in its place and started on dinner.

When Roy and the kids came home they were soaked.

"Is dinner ready?" Roy asked, placing a kiss on his lips, "These kids are starving…"

"You guys were only gone for like an hour and twenty minutes. I'm surprised you didn't stay out longer…"
"Milo tried to convince me… but I was adamant, they would've caught a cold… it's dumping out."
Ed smiled, "Yeah, I made soup and sandwiches… I also unpacked the last boxes in the office."

"Oh?" Roy asked, His hand resting on the small of Ed's back.

Ed nodded, "there were some pretty cute photos in there, they're old but… I hadn't seen them in so long."

Roy chuckled. "I'll have to take a look."
"Mommy, we foun frogs…" Milo said excitedly coming into the kitchen.

"You did…" Ed said enthusiastically.

Milo nodded "Daddy said we couldn't keep them… said you wouldn't want em in the house…"

"Your daddy is right…" Ed said, he cleared his throat, "Did you hang up your wet rain gear…"

Milo scurried out of the room. "Help your sisters please…" Ed called.
"Greyson still asleep?" Roy asked.

Ed nodded, "Out like a light…"

"Good… We have some time then." Roy said.

"We do… so I want you to go do that paperwork on your desk in the office."

Roy sighed.

"Go. You need to get it done…" He said, Roy trudged to the office giving his husband a sad puppy look, Ed could only smile and laugh, which caused Roy to do the same as he closed the door behind him.

"Mommy can we eat now?" Oliver asked.

"Of course sweetie, I have everything ready for you kids…" Ed led them into the kitchen and helped them all to sit. He kept them all comfortable.
