Chapter 3: The Initiation Exam

Leo was looking at footage of the Tiger Orphnoch defeating the Armadillo Orphnoch.

"Well, this is new." Leo said as he observed more footage of the fight.

"I'll say, Orphnochs really do love to stick their noses in various places, huh?" Cinder asked.

"You know about the Orphnochs?" Leo asked.

"I've crossed paths with a few and…I'm going to guess you're one too." Cinder said.

Leo stared at her.

"Relax, I don't have anything against them. So…what do you plan to do about this?" Cinder asked.

"For now, I'll just let things run their course. Besides, I have a man on the inside so all I have to do is wait."

(Play This Will Be the Day by Jeff Williams)

The song begins as Makoto looks over a cliff and in the bottom was a ruined facility with the Smart Brain logo.

[They see you as small and helpless. They see you as just a child. Surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild.] As Makoto looks at the facility, in his shadow was the Wolf Orphnoch. He tightly grips the Faiz Gear in his hands as he remembered his mother's dying words.

As the wind blows past him, the title appears.

[Prepare for your greatest moments. Prepare for your finest hour. The dream that you've always dreamed is suddenly about to flower.] Kiba kneels before Dark Decade but there is obviously a troubled look on his face. Echo hides in the woods while gripping on to her weapons. Tiber looks at the city with his sniper before leaving his spot.

[We are lightning. Straying from the thunder. Miracles of ancient wonder.] We see an army of Grimm but they are replaced with an army of Orphnochs. We soon see Leo and Roman in front of a legion of goons. Then we see the members of Lucky Clover and in front of them is the mysterious CEO of Smart Brain. We soon see the members of Team MYTE in a circle, Makoto notices something before the four of them charged.

[This will be the day we've waited for. This will be the day we open up the door. ] While fighting, we soon see the four in their Rider forms fighting the Orphnochs.

[I don't wanna hear your absolution. Hope you're ready for a revolution.] Then we see the members of Team JNPR looking at a statue in front of the school. We soon see Team RWBY practicing their weapons.

[Welcome to a world of new solutions. Welcome to a world of bloody evolution.] We see Ozpin, drinking his coffee, with Goodwitch next to him on an airship.

[In time, your hearts will open minds. A story will be told…] We see each member behind their respective symbols. Then we move in front of Beacon and see every character one by one with the last one being Makoto.

[Because victory is in a simple soul!] We soon see Faiz practicing his swords before stopping when the title appears.

(At Beacon Dining Hall)

"Well to start things off, this is called a Rider Gear." Makoto said as he showed Ruby his case.

"Wow!" Ruby said as she examined a few of the pieces. "They're light and are disguised as ordinary items but they're actually weapons." She observed before placing the items back.

"We use these Gears to transform into Kamen Riders." Kiba took over.

"Kamen…Riders?"

"The name of our armors, mine is Kamen Rider Orga." Kiba said.

"Faiz." Makoto answered.

"Okay, but who were those guys?" Ruby asked, remembering the people who Makoto and Kiba fought last night.

"You ever heard of a company called Smart Brain?" Makoto asked.

Ruby nodded.

"Of course, one of the best and richest companies in all of Vytal, specifically in the fields of technology and weaponry." Ruby answered.

"That's about right but truth be told, there's more to them than meets the eye." Kiba said. "They're run by a group of monsters who claim to be the next stage of evolution for life called Orphnochs."

"They were once human or Faunus." Makoto further explained. "They can take on their regular forms but they can transform into grayish monsters and when they die, they burst into blue flames before dissolving as sand."

Ruby nodded, remembering what happened to those men last night.

"But…what about the belts?" She asked.

"Smart Brain was the company that manufactured them and as you can tell…they weren't happy with us keeping them. Plus…not everyone can use the belts." Makoto said before looking at his Gear then Kiba. "You know, you still owe me a story."

"And you owe me one as well but unlike you, I can be patient." Kiba said.

Makoto growled at him but sees that Ruby was looking at him.

"Sorry, but that's all I can tell you right now." Makoto said.

"Same here." Kiba said.

"Hey, Ruby!" A female voice called out. The three looked to see a blonde girl with purple eyes waving at them.

"I got you a table!" She said.

"Okay, I'll be right there, Yang." Ruby said. "Well, I gotta go. It was nice meeting you two!" Ruby said.

"No problem, just keep what we told you a secret." Kiba advised and Ruby nodded.

"So who were they?" Yang asked.

"Just some new friends I made." Ruby answered.

"Awww, my little sister is already getting some new friends now!"

"Aw shut it!" Ruby said before the girls were gone from Makoto and Kiba's eyes.

"Well, that was interesting. Don't you think?" Kiba asked before he started eating his pancakes.

Makoto just looked down at his food.

"I don't feel like pancakes now."

"Soup then?" Kiba asked as he passed Makoto a bowl of soup. Makoto shrugged and got a spoonful of it. When he did, he got a sour expression on his face before gulping down a glass of water. "Too hot for you?"

"N-No!" He quickly said but it was obvious that he was lying.

Kiba just chucked at his misfortune.

'He really does remind me of Takumi sometimes…'

(At Smart Brain CEO Office)

The CEO has just received news that Steel, Collar, and some of Iron Squad were MIA or KIA. He was started to leave his office after hearing that Cole is requesting to use the experimental Kaixa Gear, the last powerful Rider System that Smart Brain has at their disposal.

He was thinking about what happened to the other Gears as he was traveling down with the elevator.

Makoto's mother was actually the developer of the Faiz Gear and if he remembered correctly from old security camera footage, she bio-locked the Gear to Makoto so only he could use it regardless whether or not there's a new user that's human or Orphnoch.

And, the Delta Gear…only fate knows where it ended up. It disappeared around shortly after Makoto and the Faiz Gear did and unlike them, they've got no real leads towards it. But…they're getting there.

He soon arrived on the floor he needed to be which was the R&D Department. He entered a laboratory where he sees a man in a lab coat with grayish hair working on a computer. And next to him was the briefcase containing the Kaixa Gear.

"Professor Links…" The CEO called.

Links turned around to face the CEO.

"CEO, to what do I owe the honor for you being here?" Professor Links asked.

"I suppose you've received the requisition order." The CEO started.

"Of course, I was the one who received the call. Why? Scared of losing the last System?"

The CEO remained quiet.

"Because if you think about it, the Kaixa Gear is the only thing capable of keeping up with the Faiz Gear. Sure our Riotroopers and Orphnochs are good enough in time but don't you prefer to get the job done immediately?" Professor Links asked.

He was right, the CEO needed the Faiz Gear back as soon as possible and the only way of ensuring that is to send the Kaixa Gear to Vale. He seemed to be thinking about the situation before making a solution.

"Just…tell Cole to be careful with it."

Professor Links smiled.

"Sir, yes sir. I can't wait for the Faiz gear to come back to our hands. I really wanted to see how Inui developed a System such as that."

"Don't be careless, Professor. Inui bio-locked to her son so only he can use it regardless."

"Which makes me the more curious, just how did she manage to put that in the system? Anyways, I'm getting ahead of myself. The Gear should be ready in a couple of days so I'm assuming Cole can be patient for now. Is there anything else that you need?" Links asked.

"Actually…yes." The CEO answered as took a seat. "I have a couple of ideas, I want you to try."

"I'm all ears." Links answered.

(At Beacon Locker Rooms)

"You heard that we're making teams?" Tiber asked his sister as they're getting their weapons from their lockers.

"It's just a rumor." Echo said.

"Yeah, but it could happen and what if it does?" He asked.

"Isn't that obvious? We've been partners since we were born, what's stopping us now?" Echo asked as she pulled out her weapons, the Twins, from her locker and placed them on the sides of her hips.

"Sis, I'm not always going to be holding your hand forever." Tiber reminded as he pulled out his sniper lance, Bianca.

"So, you're saying that you don't want to be on my team?" Echo asked, pretending to be hurt.

"What!? No! I was…just thinking that…maybe being a different team could…break you out of your shell." Tiber explained.

"That sounds ridiculous!" Echo said while nearby Makoto and Kiba were overhearing the same thing.

"Teams? I wonder if they'll actually do that." Makoto wondered as he got out his Faiz Edge before sheathing in on his back.

"It would make sense if you ask me." Kiba said before getting the Orga Stlanzer out and sheathing it by his side. To Makoto's surprise, he sees him making the belt from the case and placing it on. But Kiba kept the phone in his pocket.

"You're bringing that?" Makoto asked.

"I might as well. I'd rather keep this thing on me than here where it can be easily stolen." Kiba explained.

To Makoto, that did make sense. He didn't want to lose his Gear and anyone can easily break into the lockers plus it's more subtle this way than just carrying the case. Makoto opened his case and formed his belt together and placed it on.

He then zipped up his jacket, hoping no one would see it. He then placed the phone in his pocket. Besides, if he was fighting Grimm then he has to be prepared for anything…even Grimm Orphnochs.

(A few months ago)

Makoto had just slain a couple of Beowolves and Hal was watching him.

"Nice show, kid." Hal said but they noticed that the Beowolves' bodies started to twitch until burst into blue flames.

"What the hell?" Makoto observed.

Soon the Beowolves stood up and the blue flames faded. They were more menacing now, their bodies were completely gray, their claws were sharper, their red eyes and marking turned blue, and there was barely any fur left but gray armor.

They got up and roared at the two before jumping into the shadows. Hal and Makoto were back-to-back.

"What the hell is this?

Just then a Beowolf pounced on Hal while another tried attacking Maktoto but he blocked the attack with his Faiz Edge. He then got out his phone and pressed 5-8-2-1 then Enter.

"AUTO VAJIN, COME CLOSER."

Just then Makoto's bike came out of nowhere, and Makoto typed another code before pressing Enter again.

"BATTLE MODE!"

Auto Vajin transformed into its robot mode and started shooting a few of Grimm Orphnochs. After finishing its clip, it faced Makoto and tossed him the case. Makoto opened it and made his belt. He placed it on before pressing 5-5-5 then Enter.

"STANDING BY!"

"Henshin!"

He said while doing his pose. He then places it in the slot before pushing it into the buckle.

"COMPLETE!"

Makoto transformed into Faiz and he flicked his wrist before getting his sword. He was ready to defend himself so when a Beowolf Orphnoch was about to strike at him, Faiz managed to dodge it before cutting it through waist and he quickly decapitated it.

When he did the monster's body had the Phi symbol on it before it burst into blue flames before dissolving as sand.

But soon another appeared in front of Faiz and slashed him in the chest. As he stumbled back another Beowolf Orphnoch was behind and slashed him in the back.

"Kid!" Hal called and was about to do something until a Beowolf Orphnoch got in front of him. Hal got his greatsword out and was prepared for anything.

Faiz was having trouble as he rolled on the ground. He had some trouble standing up but got his phone out and pressed in a code before pressing Enter.

"SINGLE MODE!"

Just when the Beowolf Orphnochs were about to strike again, Faiz got up and blasted each of them. As they stumbled back, Faiz placed the phone back in the belt and removed the Mission Memory before placing it in his sword.

"READY!"

He then pressed Enter on his phone.

"EXCEED CHARGE!"

Soon the blade of his sword was glowing red and just when the Beowolf Orphnochs regained their bearings, Faiz slashed them all with his glowing sword. They each had the Phi Symbol on them before exploding from blue flames and crumbling away as dust.

Faiz was taking deep breaths before he noticed Hal having trouble. He removed the Mission Memory from the Faiz Edge and stabbed it to the ground.

He got the Faiz Pointer out and placed the Mission Memory in there before putting it on.

"READY!"

The Beowolf Orphnoch clawed Hal away and Faiz pressed the Enter button.

"EXCEED CHARGE!"

Energy then traveled from his belt and into the Faiz Pointer as Faiz jumped up. He was then in a sidekick position as the laser from the Pointer fired. The laser stopped and formed a huge energy cone behind the Grimm Orphnoch. It turned around and looked out of curiosity.

Faiz dove into the cone, turning into energy, and the drill struck the Orphnoch's chest. It tore right through him as Faiz reappeared behind the Orphnoch. A red glowing Phi symbol appeared on the Orphnoch for a few seconds before disappearing. The Orphnoch then burst into blue flames, exploded, and crumbled into dust.

Faiz walked up to Hal and offered his hand which he took.

"You okay?" Faiz asked.

"Yeah…but what the hell was that?"

(Present)

He didn't know how the Grimm could have Orphnochs of their own but then again, they were a mystery themselves. Wouldn't that mean the Grimm were much more intelligent than they appear? Did Smart Brain know about this?

"Hey Inui, we have to go." Kiba said before leaving. Makoto nodded before closing his locker and leaving the locker room.

(Later outside)

Everyone was outside on a cliff on platforms. Ozpin and Goodwitch were in front of them. They were ready to give them instructions regarding their Initiation.

"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." Ozpin started.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of 'teams'. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion." Goodwitch said. "Each of you will be given teammates…today." She confirmed.

"What? Ohhh…" Ruby said. Makoto looked at her expression before focusing on the instructions.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well."

His thoughts were soon interrupted when he heard Ruby groaning even more.

'Guess she isn't looking forward to this.'

"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." Ozpin explained.

"Whaaat!?" Ruby said.

"See! I told you-!" An orange haired girl said to a mal with black hair with pink streak wearing Chinese themed clothing.

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path…or you will die."

One guy laughed nervously before gulping.

"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. You will guard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Any questions?" Ozpin said.

A blonde guy soon raised his hand.

"Yeah, um, sir?"

"Good! Now take your positions." Ozpin said. Everyone on each platform withdrew their weapons and were prepared for anything. Makoto with drew his Faiz Edge, Kiba withdrew his Orga Stlanzer, Echo got out both of the Twins, while Tiber got out Bianca in its lance mode.

"Uh, sir? I've got, um... a question." Jaune said, raising his hand.

Soon Weiss was launched through the air and into the forest.

"So, this landing... strategy thing... Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?" Jaune asked further.

"No. You will be falling." Ozpin answered.

"Oh, uh, I see... So, did you, like, hand out parachutes for us?" Jaune asked as more students were launched, including the twins.

"No. You will be using your own 'landing strategy'." Ozpin answered as Kiba and a few more students were launched.

"Uh-huh... Yeah." Jaune said before Makoto, Ruby, Yang, and Blake were the next ones to be launched. "So, what exactly is a landing strateg-!" Jaune couldn't finish his question since he was the next one launched. "-YYY!"

Ozpin just looked at the airborne students before taking another sip of his coffee.

(In Vale)

Leo was exploring the city simply rooming around the city after agreeing on a partnership with Cinder, who promised to have her sources to keep an eye on Smart Brain in return for weapons and Dust, if possible.

It was only a slight matter of time before he sees Cole, the Tiger Orphnoch from the footage that he got.

He then hid around the corner and silently assembled place his belt together before placing it on as he was overhearing Cole's conversation on the phone.

"So, the requisition is approved?" Cole asked.

"…"

"Understood, Faiz won't see what hits him."

"…"

"No, I haven't been able to contact the other squads except mine. Who knows? Wouldn't be surprised if Faiz took care of them."

"…"

"You want me to do what? Bring the kid in alive?"

"…"

"Okay, fine but no promises. So when will the delivery be coming in?"

"…"

"A couple days? I can work with that." Cole then whispered something before hanging up and looking in Leo's direction. "What about you?"

Leo showed himself and Cole's eyes widened when he saw the belt.

"Where did you get that!?" Cole demanded to know.

"Sorry, but that's my business." Leo said before entering his code.

"STANDING BY!"

"Henshin!"

He placed the phone in the slot and pushed it into the buckle.

"COMPLETE!"

Blue neon lines surrounded his body before a light replaced him with Psyga.

"That isn't the Faiz Gear. What is that?" Cole asked.

"Your end." Psyga said before flying up in the air, trying to shoot Cole. Cole was running for cover before transforming into the Tiger Orphnoch. He ran out of cover as several citizens were running away from the fight scene.

The Tiger Orphnoch grabbed various stuff around him and threw it at Psyga. Psyga was either shooting them down or dodging them. After some shooting, Psyga sees the Tiger Orphnoch in the air and he grabbed onto him.

Psyga was flying around, trying to cut him loose but had no luck. The Tiger Orphnoch managed to move to Psyga's back and started swatting the jetpack. It was only a short matter of time before Psyga's jetpack was smoking and going out of control. The Tiger Orphnoch jumped off while Psyga freed himself and his tonfa from the jetpack before the jetpack went out of control and crashed into a nearby building.

Psyga and the Tiger Orphnoch charged at each other. While fighting, Hal was watching from a safe distance.

"What the bloody hell is that?" Hal wondered when making sure that the spot he is in is a good one.

Psyga managed to land a hit on the Tiger Orphnoch but the Tiger Orphnoch grabbed him and threw into a bench.

Psyga got up only to be grabbed by the neck and lifted up by the Tiger Orphnoch.

"Who are you!? Where did you get that belt!?" He asked.

Instead of an answer, Psyga kicked him in the chest, making the Tiger Orphoch let go of him. Psyga then pointed at him before placing his thumb near his neck and moving it like a knife.

"You may be one of us…but threats like that aren't going to get you anywhere with me!" The Tiger Orphnoch said before charging.

Psyga did the same and right when the two looked as though they were about to collide, Psyga slid under him and slashed him.

The Tiger Orphnoch only grunted.

"Just a scratch." He said as he turned to face Psyga. He then summoned blue fireballs and launched them. Psyga dodged them with ease but what he wasn't expecting was that the fireballs turned and hit him.

The Tiger Orphnoch uses the opening as an advantage by smacking him. Just then the Tiger Orphnoch was interrupted when a fireball hits him.

Psyga looked at where it came to see Cinder with her markings glowing. She also appeared to be holding Psyga's case.

"So that's what you hid in that case, huh?" Cinder said as she approached Psyga. She then dropped the case at his feet.

"Hey, it doesn't hurt to keep a secret or two." Psyga defended.

"True enough." She said before her hands were consumed by fire and she faced the Tiger Orphnoch. "Shall we?"

"Let's." Psyga answered before charging while Cinder sent multiple fireballs at the Tiger Orphnoch.

The Tiger Orphnoch sent multiple fireballs of his own before Psyga appeared in front of him and slashed him a few times.

Psyga soon jumped out of the way as the Tiger Orphnoch noticed a glowing rune on the floor. Cinder clenched her fist and rune exploded, sending the Tiger Orphnoch in the air.

He landed with a large thud on the ground and he barely got up.

"I'll remember this!" He said before he lit the ground in blue fire. When it faded, he was gone.

"Got away, but he knows not mess with us now." Psyga said before getting his phone out and pressing End Call. He reverted back to Leo.

He was about to make his way back to the case until Cinder got in front of him.

"What?" Leo asked.

"I just saved your ass so I think you should at least thank me with some answers."

"What about? You know about the Orphnochs." Leo pointed out.

"True…but that armor seemed special to you and the other guy. I want to know more about it." Cinder said.

"Fine, but not here besides I wanted to send Smart Brain a message saying they aren't the only ones in this treasure hunt." Leo said before he and Cinder left the vicinity.

Hal got out of his hiding spot while thinking how he is going to break this to Makoto.

"Well, the kid certainly has his plate full." Hal said before leaving.

(In Emerald Forest)

After flying through the air for a good few minutes, Makoto turned his arm into its grayish claw form and grabbed on to a tree. He spun around it before landing perfectly on the ground.

He looked at his claw.

"I know I don't really use this often but it does have its uses." Makoto mused before turning it back into his human hand. "Now, time to find a partner." He said before walking away.

As he was walking, he was wondering if any of the others were okay. Hopefully, they landed near him.

Makoto thought about the people he met so far. Ruby seemed a nice enough girl to partner with. Tiber seemed a nice enough guy to get along with. Makoto had no doubt that Echo doesn't like him. And then there was Kiba, the mysterious guy with the mysterious Gear.

Makoto didn't exactly trust Kiba even though he did say that he doesn't like Smart Brain too. But still though, Makoto's mother was the developer of the Faiz Gear. She even bio-locked it to him before her death so only he can use it and no one else.

As he was thinking he saw a figure walking through the woods.

'Kiba?'

He went to look and found his partner but…it wasn't exactly who he thought it was. The two stared at each other before….

"You've got to be kidding me." Echo said as she faced her new partner.

(In another part of the forest)

Kiba wondered around the forest while looking for a partner.

'I wonder if Inui made it because I still have to keep an eye on him and wait for the right opportunity to steal the Gear.'

Kiba soon stopped after hearing some noises in the woods. He gripped his sword but didn't withdraw it from the sheath.

After a few moments, the noise stopped and Kiba brought his hand away from his sword.

"This forest…" Kiba muttered before turning and when he did he sees a couple of Ursas growling at him.

Kiba withdrew his sword before the monsters roared. One of them charged and Kiba dodged it before jumping on its back and stabbing it in the brain. It stopped dead and Kiba got off.

The other Ursa roared in response as Kiba pointed his sword at it.

"Okay, bring it." He said before the Ursa can do anything, its head exploded.

Kiba looked around until he heard a whistle from the tree branches. He looks to see Tiber with front of his lance opened, revealing a scope and a sniper barrel.

"Yo." Tiber greeted before he closed Bianca into its Lance mode and jumped off the tree. "Guess you and me are partners now."

Kiba smiled.

"I guess so." He said before sheathing his sword. "You haven't seen your sister?"

"No, you're the first person that I've seen." Tiber answered.

"You worried about her?"

"She's a big girl and can take care of herself but…I hope she finds one good partner and a patient one at that." Tiber said, knowing his sister's…rash personality.

"I'm sure she'll be fine. C'mon, we have to get to that temple, remember?" Kiba said as he took point.

"Right behind you." Tiber responded before following him.

(With Makoto and Echo)

Makoto and Echo started their path to the temple moments ago and were making progress.

"Are you're sure this is the right path?" Echo asked.

"Only one way to find out." Makoto replied as he continued walking.

"That really isn't assuring." Echo sighed as she followed him.

"You have any better ideas?" Makoto asked. "Because I'm open to feedback right now."

Echo didn't say anything.

"I thought so." Makoto said before he felt a vibration from his phone. His eyes widened since the only person who has his number was Hal.

Makoto couldn't answer it with Echo next to him. So he had no choice but to ignore it now and answer it later.

"What was that?" Echo asked, hearing the vibrating.

"Nothing!" He answered as he hanged up from his pocket.

"It didn't sound like nothing." She said before observing Makoto. "You're hiding something, aren't you?"

"What are you talking about? I'm not hiding any-." Before he could respond, they heard fighting. "You hear that?"

"Yeah."

"Should we check it out?"

"Why should we? It's not our problem or anything. I say it's best to leave it alone." She said in a cold tone before continuing the path on her own.

"Could be your brother." Makoto said and in the next second, Echo went the other way while dragging Makoto.

"I hate you." She said while Makoto had a smug look on his face.

(With Kiba and Tiber)

The two guys were roaming the forest until they heard noise.

"Should we check it out?" Tiber asked.

"It wouldn't hurt." Kiba answered and when they went to the scene they saw a blond and black haired girl fighting a few Ursas.

Tiber placed one knee on the ground as he opened Bianca into its sniper mode. He took a deep breath before pulling the trigger and two Ursas los their head.

Kiba jumped from the bushes and slashed the an Ursa while Yang punched it in the back.

Another Ursa appeared to go after Blake and she was about to defend herself until Tiber fired it in its knee.

The Ursa roared in pain before Blake finished it off. The four then regrouped.

"Thanks for the save." Yang said before noticing Kiba. "Hey, I remember you. You and another guy were talking to my sister this morning."

"Ruby? So she's your sister?" Kiba asked.

"Yup, I'm Yang."

"Kiba."

"Name's Tiber."

"Blake."

"Nice to meet you, guys. So, you're heading to the temple?" Yang asked.

"That's the plan." Tiber said.

"Then maybe we can help each other then." Blake proposed.

"Sure, it doesn't hurt to have a few extra hands helping." Kiba said before the four went off.

(With Makoto and Echo)

After investigating the noise, it turned out to be Ruby and Weiss fighting a pack of Beowolves. It took some persuasion for Echo, but the two managed to help them.

"Thanks for the save, Makoto." Ruby said.

"No problem." He said before looking at Weiss. "So she's your partner?"

"Unfortunately." Ruby answered in a whisper but Weiss glared at her.

"Thanks but we didn't need any help." Weiss said.

"Well your welcome though, Princess." Echo muttered.

"What did you call me!?" Just then Ruby noticed some twitching in a Beowolf's body.

"Hey guys, is that supposed to happen?"

They all looked and Makoto's eyes widened.

"Guys, get back." He warned.

Just then, the body burst into blue flames before standing up, much to everyone's surprise. The flames died down revealing a Beowolf Orphnoch.

"So it just got a makeover. What's the problem?" Echo asked before it rushed at them at a faster speed than normal Beowolves.

They all moved out the way as the Beowolf Orphnoch turned and roared at them. Ruby, Echo, and Weiss tried shooting him but it deflected all their shots with its claws.

It soon jumped in between them and Echo tried attacking with the blades of her Twins but to her surprise, the skin now felt like armor before the Orphnoch grabbed her and threw her against a tree.

"Echo!" Makoto called before Weiss and Ruby charged next.

Weiss encase it in ice and Ruby got her scythe out, ready for the finishing blow. But before she could the ice broke completely and it dodged Ruby's scythe before it grabbed it and her and spun her.

It soon lets go, launching Ruby into Weiss. It then turned and stared at Makoto before growling.

"Makoto, get out of there!" Ruby warned as the other two girls watched. Makoto dodged the Beowolf's attacking, opening his jacket in the process thus revealing his belt.

"Guess I have no choice." Makoto mused before he stabbed his sword in the ground. He then got his phone out and pressed in the code.

"STANDING BY!"

Everyone, but Ruby who was concerned, looked at him in confusion especially when he raised his arm with the phone.

"Henshin!"

He placed it in the slot before pushing it into the buckle.

"COMPLETE!"

He transformed into Faiz, much to everyone's surprise. He then stared at the Beowolf Orphnoch before flicking his wrist and pulling his sword out.

Faiz soon got into a combat position, ready for combat.
