AN: Alright guys, here's the latest Faiz. This is probably going to be the last one for a while since I have other stories to work on as well. But remember this: this story will not die. This story cannot die. Anyways, Showtime!
Disclaimer: I do not own Kamen Rider or RWBY except any OCs, if mentioned.
Chapter 6: New Toys
"You what!?" The CEO shouted into the video chat. Cole just told him how he lost the Kaixa belt to Faiz and his team.
"I'm sorry, sir. They really caught me off guard especially when one of the humans used it" Cole answered.
"What?" CEO replied, that was impossible this belt was designed to work only with Orphnochs. Anyone else, and it would've killed them.
"Yes sir, saw it with my own eyes and surprised me. They caught me at a disadvantage and used that to their advantage." Cole explained.
'Impossible, the only way that a human could've used a gear would be if…' The CEO thought before a revelation hits him. "I see." He answered. "And you reported that there was another Rider anomaly?"
"Yes sir, two of them. And they appear to be in top gear too. One of them is working with Inui."
"I see, in that case, we'll send reinforcements to Vale and establish a base of operations for you and your team." The CEO announced.
"Thank you, sir."
"However, I'll also be dispatching a…Lucky Clover Member." The CEO said.
"Sir, just give me time. I can-."
"You lost the Kaixa Gear and you think I can entrust this situation to you!? There's something going on and I'm sending a Lucky Clover Member to confirm it. Am I clear?"
No response.
"Am. I. Clear?" He asked again.
"Yes sir…"
The video chat was soon cut off and the CEO was thinking to himself.
'So not only Inui is there but so is Subject 001.'
(Play This Will Be the Day by Jeff Williams)
The song begins as Makoto looks over a cliff and in the bottom was a ruined facility with the Smart Brain logo.
[They see you as small and helpless. They see you as just a child. Surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild.] As Makoto looks at the facility, in his shadow was the Wolf Orphnoch. He tightly grips the Faiz Gear in his hands as he remembered his mother's dying words.
As the wind blows past him, the title appears.
[Prepare for your greatest moments. Prepare for your finest hour. The dream that you've always dreamed is suddenly about to flower.] Kiba kneels before Dark Decade but there is obviously a troubled look on his face. Echo hides in the woods while gripping on to her weapons. Tiber looks at the city with his sniper before leaving his spot.
[We are lightning. Straying from the thunder. Miracles of ancient wonder.] We see an army of Grimm but they are replaced with an army of Orphnochs. We soon see Leo and Roman in front of a legion of goons. Then we see the members of Lucky Clover and in front of them is the mysterious CEO of Smart Brain. We soon see the members of Team MYTE in a circle, Makoto notices something before the four of them charged.
[This will be the day we've waited for. This will be the day we open up the door. ] While fighting, we soon see the four in their Rider forms fighting the Orphnochs.
[I don't wanna hear your absolution. Hope you're ready for a revolution.] Then we see the members of Team JNPR looking at a statue in front of the school. We soon see Team RWBY practicing their weapons.
[Welcome to a world of new solutions. Welcome to a world of bloody evolution.] We see Ozpin, drinking his coffee, with Goodwitch next to him on an airship.
[In time, your hearts will open minds. A story will be told…] We see each member behind their respective symbols. Then we move in front of Beacon and see every character one by one with the last one being Makoto.
[Because victory is in a simple soul!] We soon see Faiz practicing his swords before stopping when the title appears.
(At Beacon)
It's been a few days since MYTE obtained the Kaixa belt and Makoto and Echo are on good terms. Makoto also made it clear to his team that he was an Orphnoch but assured that he hasn't lost his humanity.
Currently, Makoto was in Beacon's weapon room working on his belt after his classes were done. After his mother's death, Makoto used to spend every day examining the Faiz Gear and making sure it's up-to-date. He had permission from Ozpin to use the tools there.
Just then heard the door opened, he looked and saw Kiba.
"Oh Kiba, is there something you need?" Makoto asked as he took off his safety goggles.
"Not really, just wanted to check up on you. What are you doing here anyways?" Kiba asked.
"I'm making some modification to my belt." Makoto answered. This surprised Kiba, he didn't know that the belts can be tampered with let alone modified.
"R-Really!? I didn't think it was possible." Kiba said.
"Well, my mother taught me how to take care of this when I was a kid." Makoto said before placing his goggles back on. He got a blowtorch and started working.
"I see, was your mother an engineer or something?"
"Somewhere around that, my mother developed the Faiz Gear."
"Was she…you know?"
Makoto shook his head.
"No, she was human…and a good mom."
"Sorry, didn't mean to bring up bad memories. Anyways, what are you modifying the belt for?" Kiba asked, really wanting to see how Makoto's skills of engineering are like.
"I'll tell you when I'm done." Makoto said as he stopped. He placed the blowtorch away before he got a hammer. "Also, I might be skipping dinner tonight."
"You sure?"
Makoto nodded.
"I'll see you back at the dorm."
"Okay, then. Don't try to stay up too late, tomorrow we're going to Vale with the others." Kiba reminded before he left the room. He closed the door and smiled to himself. "You really do surprise me, Inui." Kiba said to himself. He was now wondering if he could get Makoto to modify his belt for him.
He soon started walking down the halls and was wondering what to do. He didn't feel like reporting to Leo yet.
Kiba then heard noises from the combat simulator nearby. He decided to take a peak before he saw Echo practicing on virtual combat dummies. Kiba walked in and Echo noticed as she finished the last dummy.
"Hey, Kiba." She greeted.
"Hey, where's your brother?" Kiba asked.
"He said he needed to do something in the library. By the way, have you seen Boss?"
"Weapons room, modifying his belt."
"What for?"
"That's what I want to know. Anyways, you mind for a sparring partner?" Kiba asked as he walked in.
Echo smiled.
"Sure." She answered as she got on the terminal and entered a few setting before confirming it. The whole stage soon resembled a town square. Echo pulled out her Twin blades. "Let's see what you got." She smiled.
Kiba smiled back before pulling out his Orga Stlanzer.
"Don't hold back." He advised.
"Same to you." She said before she charged. Kiba blocked the hit before trying a sweep kick which Echo jumped back from.
She then got her Twins out before she fired their guns. Kiba was running away before transforming his sword to rifle. The two ran from each other's shots before taking cover.
Kiba waited for a few seconds before getting out of cover but Echo was nowhere in front of him. He then looked up before transforming his weapon again to block Echo's attack. He then pushed her back.
"Not bad." Echo complimented.
"Same to you." Kiba said.
Just then Ruby, who was walking down the hall, noticed them and decided to watch the match.
"How about we make things more interesting?" Echo said before unzipping a part of her hoodie to reveal the Kaixa Driver.
"Why do you have that on you?"
"It pays to be prepared." Echo answered before Kiba revealed his belt on.
"My thoughts exactly." Kiba answered before the two brought out their phones and typed in the codes. The pressed Enter before closing them.
"STANDING BY!"
"Henshin!"
"COMPLETE!"
The two transformed into Kaixa and Orga. Ruby was freaking out in her mind, she never saw the Kaixa armor and was excited to continue watching the match.
Kaixa pulled out her Blaygun and inserted the Mission Memory.
"READY!"
The blade appeared and Kaixa charged before Orga tried shooting her. Kaixa was rolling away, allowing the shots to hit the cars nearby.
Kaixa then tried shooting herself and Orga ran. He was soon close enough before transforming his weapon again and struck Kaixa, only to be blocked by her blade. She then kicked Orga into the building of a store.
Ruby was still watching the match with excitement until she felt a hand on her shoulder. Ruby looked to see Yang.
"Hey, sis, what's going on?"
"I'm seeing a new armor!" Ruby said with excitement.
"They don't look that tough." Yang said as she crossed her arms.
"I wouldn't say that."
Both Ruby and Yang practically jumped and saw Blake sitting.
"Blake, how long were you sitting there?" Ruby asked.
"Long enough, anyways, Smart Brain is one of the top weapon manufacturers in Remnant. If they developed that armor, that means they should be powerful." Blake said as she continued watching.
Kaixa walked in before she was met with a punch to the gut, which sent her flying out.
"See?" Blake said.
"I can do better." Yang said.
Orga quickly came out and tried firing only for no response. Orga slowly walked to the hole that Kaixa was blown into. He soon got shot from above and saw Kaixa perched on a branch of a tree.
"How did she-!?"
Kaixa then jumped and slashed Orga before bringing the blade close to his neck.
"I win." Kaixa said.
"You might want to check again."
"Huh?" Kaixa looked down and saw Orga's other hand holding the phone in its gun mode aimed at her stomach.
Orga chuckled underneath his helmet as he heard a slight groan from Kaixa.
"Tie?" Orga asked.
"Tie." Kaixa confirmed before she and Orga reverted back to Echo and Kiba. Soon the virtual environment around broke apart, leaving the empty training room.
"Getting used to the belt?" Kiba asked.
"You can say that." Echo said before the two exited the chamber, seeing the three girls.
"That was so cool!" Ruby said before grabbing the Kaixa belt from Echo to take a closer look. "It looks so simple yet elegant." Ruby observed before looking at the Blaygun. "Oh wow! It's a similar weapon to Makoto's but has a shooting function included."
As Ruby was having a nerd moment with the weapons, the other four decided to talk.
"Your sister is quite the weapon expert." Kiba remarked as Ruby was still examining the Kaixa belt, oblivious to the conversation that the others were having.
"Yeah, she really does have her moments with weapons. When she made Crescent Rose, she literally clung onto it in bed like a teddy bear." Yang said as she laughed at the memory.
"Still though, how did you guys get a third belt? The last time we've seen your team use them, there was two belts, not three." Blake pointed out.
"Should we tell them?" Kiba whispered.
"Well, they are our friends." Echo answered back. "Well we…stole it off an Orphnoch."
"What?" Both girls responded. They then started to explain the whole story, even Ruby was listening, but they left out the part of the Orphnoch requirement for the belt or that Echo was kidnapped and was used to be an experimental test subject for Smart Brain. They even kept the fact that Makoto was an Orphnoch as a secret.
"So Makoto managed to get it off the guy before the belt was thrown away? And while those two were fighting, you went for the belt yourself?" Blake asked, making sure she's getting all this right.
"Yeah." The two responded.
"So what does an Orphnoch look like, anyways?" Yang asked now that she and her teammates were very curious.
"Well, for starters, they're gray, big, and look mostly like animals." Kiba started.
"And most of them aren't nice." Echo explained, making an exception for a few people that she knows.
"So can anyone use the belts?" Yang asked, wondering if she could use it.
"Only certain people can." Kiba quickly answered. "Except for Inui's, his is bio-locked to him to it would be impossible regardless."
"Speaking of which, where is Makoto?" Ruby asked.
"He's in the weapon room, working on the belt." Echo answered. "You can find him there is you want."
Ruby then thought about it. He was a fellow weaponsmith like her plus she did want to get a closer look at the belt.
"I'll be right back." Ruby quickly said before leaving. She then found her way to the weapon room and opened it.
Ruby almost went fangirl by the dozens of weapons up for display. She then heard a buzzing noise and followed it. She stopped herself when she saw Makoto crossing wires into the belt. Next to him was a notepad with a pencil and his phone displaying a holographic overview of the Faiz armor.
Ruby walked up to him and stayed quiet. Makoto stopped crossing wires as he took off the goggles.
"Okay, I got that working."
"Hey!"
Makoto nearly fell off his stool from her surprise. He looked back at her.
"Oh, it's you Ruby…don't sneak on me like that." Makoto warned.
Ruby just giggled a little bit before looking at the belt.
"Sorry, I couldn't help myself." She then started examining the Faiz gear whose belt had wires sticking out. "Wow, despite its simple look, the belt is actually more intricate that I believed."
"Well, this is the belt that stores my armor." Makoto explained before Ruby saw the holographic overview being made by the phone. She touched the head before helmet was zoomed up and with it, information regarding the helmet's functions.
"Oh, wow…"
"Wait a minute, how did you even know I was here?" Makoto asked.
"Echo and Kiba told us after we saw them spar in their armor." Ruby explained, making Makoto surprised.
"You saw it?"
"Yeah, both armors are cool but I like yours the most." Ruby complimented.
"Thank you…" Makoto muttered.
"So what are you trying to do with it?" Ruby eagerly asked.
"Nothing really major, just this." Makoto said as he showed Ruby his notepad. She spent the next few minutes, studying it.
"I see, that could improve a lot. But I think you should also focus improvements on…" She then zoomed in on the helmet hologram. "Here and here."
"Really?" Makoto asked, intrigued on what Ruby's proposing.
Ruby nodded and turned to a new page in the notepad.
"Yeah, the aesthetic feature can be hidden if this was pushed in around these areas. But the only problem is the size of the ammo…" Ruby said.
"Well what if we replace that function with lasers instead?"
"That could work but we'll also need to install a cooling system there as well." Ruby stated before Makoto looked at her surprised.
"That's easy, we can base the cooling system off the Faiz Phone. But…how do you know this type of stuff?" Makoto asked.
Ruby then had a little blush on her cheeks.
"Well…I've always been a dork when it comes to weapons. I guess I got a little carried away when making Crescent Rose." Ruby said as she looked at her weapon.
"Are you kidding me?" Makoto asked with a smile. "Your weapon is one of the most badass ones that I ever saw."
"You really think so!?" Ruby asked with excitement in her tone.
Makoto nodded.
"Definitely, you're a great weaponsmith…" Ruby blushed at that.
'He called me a great weaponsmith.' Ruby thought.
"Which is exactly what I need right now." Makoto finished before noticing Ruby in her own thoughts. "Hey, Ruby are you okay?"
Ruby then snapped herself from her thoughts.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine, anyways, I'll be more than happy to help." Ruby said before she grabbed an extra stool and sat next to Makoto.
Outside the door, the two MYTE and RWBY members had their ears against the door.
"Wow…I never thought little sis can actually find someone who can keep up with her when it comes to weapons." Yang thought out loud. She then looked at Kiba and Echo. "You're keeping a close eye when it comes to this, right?"
"Why?" Echo asked.
"Because, Echo, you have a sibling, right?"
"Yeah."
"And has he ever helped you in great times of need?"
"All my life, why?" Echo asked.
"Because if my little sister ends up hurt, then…" Yang started as her eyes slowly turned red and her hair was starting to burn. Blake backed away from her while Echo and Kiba were very nervous as Yang approached them. "…someone has some explaining to do, go it?"
"Yes, ma'm!" The two responded, making Yang go back to normal cheery self.
"Good! Anyways, those two sound busy in there, so we should do something else. Any ideas?" Yang asked.
"Well, we did just install the TV and game console in our dorm." Echo remembered.
"Great, let's play then." Yang said before they all left.
(In the library)
Tiber was at the table, reading a book on the creatures of Grimm. What he found interesting that Grimm Orphnochs were listed but not as Orphnochs, they were labeled as "Rare" Grimm. Tiber read that barely few lived to tell the tale with most of them being about escaping them, not killing them.
While he was reading, he felt a presence over him. He looked over to see Weiss.
"Oh, it's you. What's up?" Tiber asked as he continued reading more on the Grimm Orphnochs.
"Yeah, I need a look on your book when you're done." Weiss quickly explained.
"Curious about Orphnochs, huh?" Tiber replied as well.
"If they're even more dangerous than Grimm, then has to be a subject worth looking into." Weiss concluded. She was right, it is smart to learn more about Orphnoch but there was a lot to learn that isn't in the book. Especially since his team leader is an Orphnoch and probably the other teammate is too.
"Okay, but this book doesn't have anything on the regular Orphnochs, only the Grimm ones."
This peaked Weiss's curiosity.
"There are others?"
"Yeah, used to be humans and Faunus, claim to be the 'next evolution of life'." Tiber said.
"Overconfident, huh?" Weiss asked, remembering similar personalities when her family met with Smart Brain officials.
"Yeah but not all of them are bad." Tiber said as he remembered a certain person.
(Two years ago)
And injured Tiber crashed on the ground with the Hawk Orphnoch in front of him.
"What's wrong? I told you to land a hit on me." The Hawk Orphnoch mocked.
"I'm not, I have no real reason to." Tiber said as he sat up.
"Don't you care about your sister?"
"Don't get me wrong, I do. But I'm worth more to her dead than alive. I'm not picking fights out of my own feeling, if I do…then I'm just as bad as Smart Brain then."
The Hawk Orphnoch just stared at him.
"I fight …for my sister."
Just then the Hawk Orphnoch walked up to him and offered a hand.
"Huh?"
The Orphnoch soon transformed into her human form.
"Well then, I'll help you get her." Bianca said before Tiber took her hand.
(Present)
"Really? Huh, what made you sure that she wasn't using you?" Weiss asked.
"Because she was interested in me, besides, she never cared about the whole Orphnoch thing." Tiber said, remembering his mentor.
"Okay, so you and your team mentioned Smart Brain before. What do they have to do with them?" Weiss asked, curious since her family's company was a partner of Smart Brain.
"Let's just say this, don't trust them. No matter how a rep from them acts. Never trust them." Tiber said, not wanting to give the…raw version of the truth. "Anyways, how are you and Ruby doing now?"
"We're doing fine, really. She can still be a dunce sometimes…but she does have her moments." Weiss answered.
"Good to hear." Tiber said before passing her the book. "Anyways, you might want to do your homework on the Grimm Orphnochs. Doubt it'll do any good against regular Orphnochs but it pays to be prepared for anything."
"Thanks." Weiss said but she looked back at Tiber. "But I wanted to know what Smart Brain exactly has to do with Orphnochs."
Tiber sighed. He wanted to tell her but…
"You'd think I would be crazy if I tell you everything about Smart Brain." Tiber explained.
"After seeing one a few Grimm Orphnochs back in initiation, I'm willing to listen to anything." Weiss said.
Tiber looked at her and saw that this girl wanted some answers. Being the nice guy he is, he decided to get this over with.
"Alright, get yourself comfortable. It's going to be a while."
(At Roman's warehouse)
Leo was looking over the footage that Kiba sent him regarding Echo transforming to Kaixa.
"Well now, isn't that just interesting?" Leo said. He soon placed the footage away and got up from his spot. He then walked over to see some of the various goons talking amongst themselves. Two of them noticed Leo before walking up to him in a private area.
"Yes, sir?" He asked.
"We got info that the Riders will be coming here tomorrow along with some of their friends. I want you two and a few of your men to intercept them and try to take their belts…other than the informant." Leo instructed.
"Very well." The two said before Leo tossed them pictures of Makoto and Echo.
One of them transformed into the Bat Orphnoch and shot the picture of Echo, making a hole in where her face was.
The other transformed into the Equisetum Orphnoch and slashed the picture of Makoto with his staff.
Unknown to the three, Cinder was watching the whole briefing with an interested look in her eyes.
(At night in Beacon's Weapon Room)
"Alright, try it out now." Ruby said as she passed the Faiz Phone to Makoto. Makoto opened the Phone and typed a code before pressing Enter.
"SINGLE MODE!"
Makoto transformed his Phone into its gun mode and faced the targets that they've set up. He fired and the shots were going at a faster rate.
Not only that, but the number of shots just passed the ammo capacity. Soon he stopped firing before he reverted his gun back to a phone and typing in the cooling code. He typed in the cooling code before pressing Enter.
"CHARGE!"
Makoto closed it before walking back to Ruby.
"It works!" Ruby cheered while Makoto smiled at her before closing his belt briefcase.
"Do you think the other upgrades will work?"
"Definitely, just take it easy though." Ruby advised before Makoto patted her on the back.
"Thanks Ruby, couldn't have done it without you."
Ruby smiled back as she blushed a little.
"No problem, anyways, I'm going back to my dorm for a little bit. See you at dinner." Ruby said before she walked away from the room.
Makoto smiled to himself as he was packing his things. He then thought about Ruby. Girl has skills, there was no doubt about that but she was also one of the nicest people he has ever met. He could see why Ruby got into Beacon two years early.
As Makoto was packing, he noticed that his hand had a slight tint of gray. He frowned at the sight of it.
"Damn it…" He muttered. Orphnochs have a short lifespan depending on the number of transformations they make.
Even if there has been no permanent cure made yet, there has been…stabilizers to keep an Orphnoch's body in check. Luckily, Makoto brought some with him when packing for Beacon. He got out with his stuff and went outside for a shortcut to his dorm.
"Please, stop…" A voice said.
Makoto stopped to see Velvet Scarlatina, a bunny Faunus, being picked on by Team CRDL. Team CRDL has been nothing but a group of bullies ever since they were formed. They pull of pranks, call "favors" from their "friends", and pick on others especially Faunus.
"They're at it again, huh?"
Makoto looked to see Kiba behind him.
"Yeah…" Makoto said in an angry tone, which Kiba took note of.
"Someone should really teach those guys some manners." Kiba added.
"Yeah…" Makoto agreed.
Kiba then looked at Makoto.
"If you want, I'll take your stuff back while you…deal with those guys." Kiba said he offered his hand.
"Oh, I'll deal with those guys." Makoto said as he passed his stuff to Kiba.
"Just to let you know, there aren't cameras around so if you want to deal with them…the other way, I'm sure that's fine." Kiba said before he walked off.
Makoto thought about it, he wanted to teach Cardin and the others a lesson in respect but he needed a way to ensure that they'll remember it.
Makoto walked to a discreet spot before turning into his Orphnoch form. The Wolf Orphnoch jumped to a roof and looked at the bullies bullying the bunny-eared girl.
"Please, stop…" Velvet begged again. Her books were on the floor and Cardin was pulling on her bunny ears.
The Wolf Orphnoch jumped down and kicked Cardin away as he landed in front of Velvet in a defensive position.
"What the hell is that thing!?" Russel exclaimed at the sight of the beast.
"Who…?" Velvet questioned before the Wolf Orphnoch turned and gave her a reassuring nod.
"Kill that thing!" Cardin ordered before he and the others charged. The Worlf Orphnoch charged before kicking Russel and Dove away.
Sky was about to attack from behind until the Wolf Orphnoch grabbed him and threw him into his two other teammates.
"Hey!" Cardin called with his mace out. The Wolf Orphnoch stared at him. "C'mon, c'mon, you damn monster!"
He then charged but right before he swung, the Wolf Orphnoch easily grabbed the mace and threw it away. The Wolf Orphnoch then gave Cardin a couple of punches to the face before kicking him to the ground.
The Wolf Orphnoch walked up to him and grabbed him by the collar. The other members of Team CRDL ran for the hills. Cardin looked like he was about to crap his pants while Velvet was watching, unsure what to feel now.
"Listen to me, if you bully this girl again I will not show mercy! And I will know if you keep your word or not! Am I clear?"
"C-Crystal."
"Good, now get out of my face." The Wolf Orphnoch said as he pushed Cardin away. Cardin didn't look back as he ran away from fear. The Wolf Orphnoch looked back at Velvet before he saw the fallen books.
He bended over and picked them up before offering them to Velvet, which she took.
"T-Thank you." Velvet got out.
"My pleasure." The Wolf Orphnoch said before he jumped to a roof and ran off. He soon stopped himself as he felt some of his being blown away into dust. "Damn it…I need to get to my dorm now."
He found a window and jumped in. He looked around and was about to change into his human form before…
"Wait a minute, this isn't my dorm." The Wolf Orphnoch realized. He then heard water running from the bathroom. Soon the water stopped and someone was coming out.
The Wolf Orphnoch quickly turned off the lights and tried making a run for the door.
"That was refreshing!"
The Wolf Orphnoch recognized the voice and turned to see Ruby in nothing but a towel. He blushed a little but remembered that he has to leave. Ruby looked around the dark room.
"Hey, why is all the lights out? The others knew that I'd be here." Ruby thought out loud as she went for the light switch.
The Wolf Orphnoch was only a few inches away from the window but right before he could jump out, the lights turned on. The Wolf Orphnoch slowly moved his head to see Ruby staring at him with wide eyes and an opened mouth.
'Well…that's just great.' He thought. The two stared at each other for what seemed to be a while until Ruby turned and saw her weapon. She was about to go for it and the Wolf Orphnoch clearly saw it. 'Sorry, Ruby'.
He tackled her and pinned her against the wall. She had a fearful and teary face on which made the Orphnoch regret this already.
"Help-!" Just then the Orphnoch quickly covered her mouth with his claw. Ruby now had a muffled voice as she was now constantly turning her heard.
"Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you." The Wolf Orphnoch assured but didn't get any change from Ruby. "Calm down." Soon he had enough. "I said calm down, Ruby!"
Just then Ruby stopped and looked at him. The Wolf Orphnoch slowly placed his claw away, hoping that the girl wouldn't panic at the sight of him which she didn't. He thought he was in the clear now but…
"How do you know my name?" Ruby asked,
"Oh…crap." The Wolf Orphnoch said, realizing his mistake. He then searched his mind for an excuse to say. "Well, you see…by!" The Wolf Orphnoch tried getting away but Ruby's super speed beat him to the door.
"Hold on, how do you know my name? And now that I think about your voice does sound familiar." Ruby pointed out as she blocked the Orphnoch's exit.
The Wolf Orphnoch then sighed, there was no way he could hide this anymore or at least in front of her. He couldn't lie in front of her and escaping to the hallway will only cause more problems than it solves. He soon reverted back to his human form, causing Ruby's eyes to widen with disbelief.
"Makoto!?"
"Yeah…I'm an Orphnoch." Makoto confirmed.
"Y-You are!?" Ruby said, obviously that her friend wasn't a human.
Makoto then scanned Ruby before blushing and turning away. Ruby was confused.
"Hey, what's wron-?" Ruby asked before she looked down at herself to realize that she was only wearing a towel. She quickly blushed and covered herself a bit more. "D-Don't look! But don't leave! I mean, I want you here but just not-!"
"Just please change." Makoto said as he turned away. Ruby nodded as she went for her drawer and looked at Makoto who was still turned away from her. Ruby took off the towel and proceeded with putting some clothes on.
As she was changing, Makoto looked at his hand to find more gray dust on it than there was before. He really needed that stabilizer now.
"Hey." Ruby called and Makoto looks to see her in her pajamas.
"You're not going to dinner?" Makoto asked.
"Something tells me I'm going to be here for a while. So…you aren't human, huh?" Ruby asked.
"I was, a long time ago." Makoto answered. "Orphnochs like me were once human at first but…"
(Years ago)
"Hey, Mom!" An young boy called as he was playing with his mother. "Catch!" He said as he threw a ball.
The mother smiled as she caught the ball. "Good throw, Makoto!"She said as she and Makoto were out playing in the park. She then threw it back to the young boy and he missed. The ball rolled onto the street.
"I'll get it." Makoto volunteered before he walked onto the street and grabbed it.
Just then he heard a noise and saw an oncoming car. The next thing he knew, darkness took over his mind…
(Present)
Ruby stared at him with an easily shocked face.
"You…died?" Ruby asked.
Makoto nodded.
"That was when I died as a human and when I was reborn as…" Makoto then showed her his Orphnoch hand. "…this."
"It can't be all that bad." Ruby said as Makoto transformed his arm back to normal. "I mean there are some cool things about being an Orphnoch, right?"
"You can say that but the belts…most of them can only be used by Orphnochs."
"Really?" Ruby said, remembering seeing Kiba and Echo use the belts. "Does that mean Kiba and Echo are Orphnochs too?"
"Kiba is but Echo isn't. She's special." Makoto answered. "Mom then got a job at Smart Brain, hoping to find a way to revert me back to a human but she never did find a way."
"What did she work as?" Ruby asked, now curious.
"My mother was human still but Smart Brain had a use for her. She was an extreme professional when it comes to technology especially weapons. They offered to teach me how to control my Orphnoch abilities if she made a certain weapon for them."
"The Faiz belt…"Ruby realized.
"Soon she gave up on a cure for me and bio-locked the belt to me." Makoto said. "Before she…died." He finished, trying hard not to remember it as well as crying from it.
Ruby, feeling bad for Makoto, wrapped her arms around Makoto's neck.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up bad memories." She apologized.
"It's alright, it was going to come up sooner or later. Anyways, I have to go now." Makoto said he gently took Ruby's arms off him. Ruby looked at her arms to see that there was dust on them.
Makoto got up and tried to walk back but he felt his body weak enough already so he got on his knees.
"Makoto!" Ruby called before running besides him and kneeling down. "Are you okay?"
There was no need for an answer as Ruby saw that Makoto looked weak which terrified her.
"I need…to get my dorm."
Ruby nodded.
"Okay, I'll help you then." She said before grabbing his arm, wrapping it around the back of her neck, and started moving. They were soon in the hall.
"I'm sorry…for asking you to do this." Makoto said.
"It's alright, I don't mind helping but what's wrong with you?" Ruby asked before they were in front of the door.
"We're here." Makoto opened the door and to his luck, no one was there. They must've gone to the dining hall to eat dinner. Ruby gently placed Makoto on his bed. "There's a case underneath my bed…put it in front of me." He instructed.
Ruby nodded and did what he said.
"Good…very good." Makoto said before he opened the case. In it was a syringe gun and a few vials of a glowing red substance that anyone can recognize.
"Dust!" Ruby noticed.
Makoto grabbed a vial and loaded it into the gun. He placed it against his neck and injected it into his system. Soon the vial was now empty and Makoto took it away. To Ruby's surprise, some of Makoto's dusty hands began glowing a little before returning back to normal.
She looked at Makoto's face to see that it looked much better than it was a few minutes ago.
"That's much better." Makoto said before placing the syringe gun back in the case and putting the case back where it belongs. Makoto couldn't help but noticed Ruby's surprised expression.
"What was that?"
"There was one more thing I forgot to tell you, Orphnochs like me…have a short lifespan."
Ruby had a terrified look on her face.
"What?"
"Yeah…humanoid bodies can't handle the Orphnoch evolution so they disintegrate when they reach their limit." Makoto explained.
"Then what was that? A cure?"
"No, no cure exists today. But there have been treatments." Makoto started. "The vials that you saw were filled with Dust purified and added with a few other substances to make a stabilizer for our bodies. In other words, without time-to-time injections, I will die."
Ruby then had a fearful face on.
"I shouldn't have wasted your time. Your life was on the line and I just…"
Makoto got up and ruffled his hand through her hair playfully.
"Hey look, I'm fine and that's all that matters." He smiled.
Ruby smiled back and returned to her bubbly self.
"Right! So what's it like transforming into your Orphnoch form? Do you get any special powers?" Ruby asked.
Makoto smiled for the rest of the night as he continued finishing Ruby's questions. They soon decided to kill the rest of the night just talking about themselves. There were even a few laughs in that conversation.
(The next day)
The airship soon arrived and the teams got off. The members of MYTE, save for Tiber, were carrying their Gear cases except Kiba.
"Alright, I'll see you guys later." Makoto said before he walked away.
"Where are you going?" Kiba asked.
"I have to drop something off at Hal's." Makoto explained.
"I'll go with you." Ruby volunteered, much to everyone's surprise.
"You sure?" Makoto asked.
"Yeah, besides I really want to look at Auto Vajin and Side Bashaar." Ruby explained, remembering what Makoto said to her last night.
"Okay, then. Let's go." Makoto said before he and Ruby walked off in one direction. Yang had a weary look and grabbed Blake as she and Weiss were talking with the others regarding what they're going to do for today.
"What is it?" Blake asked while Yang looked in the direction that Makoto and Ruby went off in.
"We're following them." Yang said.
"Huh?"
"You heard me." Yang confirmed.
"But why?" Blake asked.
"I don't trust Makoto with Ruby." Yang explained.
"But he's a nice guy besides he isn't going to do anything bad to her."
"You don't know that!" Yang replied.
"And how would you know that? Did he?" Blake asked.
(Last night)
"Man, am I full!" Yang said as she was walking down back to her team's dorm after dinner. "I wonder why neither Ruby nor Makoto showed up. Unless…nah, who am I kidding?" She then passed by the MYTE's door.
"Just stop!" A familiar voice cried from there. Yang stopped and her eyes widened at recognition.
'Ruby!'
"Aw come on! I barely did anything yet!" A male voice complained.
"Isn't that Makoto?" Yang recognized. "What the hell are they doing in there?" Yang wondered.
"Seriously please, just stop!" Ruby pleaded.
"Aw c'mon! We haven't even reached the best part!" Makoto answered,
Yang covered her mouth with her hand before she quietly opened the door partly to get a better view. Nothing really bad was happening only that Makoto and Ruby were sitting across from each other on Makoto's bed.
"No stop! You're killing me!"Ruby laughed as she nearly had tears in her eyes.
"I didn't even get to the best part of the story!" Makoto laughed."Then he…he…" Makoto couldn't continue on because of the laugher from himself and Ruby.
Yang was inwardly relieved and slowly closed the door. While she was relieved, she did realize that she has to keep a close eye on those two together.
She then quietly walked back to her team's dorm to think about things.
(Present)
"But Yang, it wasn't even what you thought it was." Blake pointed out.
"True, but I want to make sure it stays that way." Yang answered. "So, let's go." Yang said before dragging Blake's arm and going off to follow the two team leaders.
The others noticed them leaving.
"Where are they going?" Tiber wondered.
"Who knows?" His twin answered before noticing Kiba leaving. "Where are you going?"
"I have to meet up with a friend." Kiba said before he went off. "I'll see you guys later for lunch." He said before he was gone from their sight.
(With Makoto and Ruby)
Yang and Blake took cover behind a corner as Makoto and Ruby were walking down the block.
"So Makoto, what you did to yourself last night…" Ruby started, immediately getting Makoto's attention. "How long does it last?"
"Usually around a few weeks maybe a month or two, it really depends on the condition my body was when I took it." Makoto answered.
"You were near death from what I saw."
"Then a few weeks, a month if I'm lucky." Makoto answered.
"What he did to himself?" Blake wondered.
"C'mon we have to find a way to hear better." Yang said before she and a dragged Blake found a better hiding spot.
"So Hal is your guardian, right?" Ruby asked.
"Yup, has been ever since what happened to my mother." Makoto answered.
"Is he, in any way, related to you?" Ruby asked.
"He's one of my mother's closest friends." Makoto answered.
"What's he like?"
"Tough, overprotective, but really does know how to have a good time." Makoto said, remembering the fun he had with Hal ever since he became his legal guardian.
Ruby giggled.
"I understand the feeling, Yang's like that too. One time when I was bullied back when we were kids, Yang practically bashed the kid's face in until his nose was bleeding red and that took a while."
Blake looked at Yang with a raised eyebrow.
"It took nearly thirty minutes for that punk to say uncle." Yang said as she remembered.
Makoto chuckled at Ruby's story.
"Hey, you think your overprotective sister would eavesdrop on us?" Makoto asked, causing Yang to be tense a little.
Ruby giggled at the question.
"She's probably following us right now." She joked before she and Makoto laughed.
"Yeah, she probably is." Blake said, getting a glare from Yang before the two continued their eavesdropping.
Just then they saw a Dust shop being robbed and the two leaders looked at each other.
"C'mon, we have to help!" Ruby said before rushing in.
"Ruby, wait!" Makoto said before following her as well as the two other girls.
"Make sure, there's nothing left." A man said as he and some of the goons were cleaning the place of Dust. "The police can be here any second by now, so be quick." He instructed before one of his accomplices tried getting out to load the van.
Just then that man was met with a hit by the back end of a scythe. Ruby got into a combat position as the leader and his men walked out. Just then Makoto joined her and the leader looked at the case he was carrying.
"The belt!" The man recognized before transforming into the Equisetum Orphnoch.
"Orphnoch!" Makoto recognized and Ruby tried shooting it.
The Orphnoch pulled out its staff and deflected all the bullets.
"Men!" The Orphnoch commanded and every one of his men joined him. They soon charged and focused on Ruby while the Orphnoch knocked the case out of Makoto's hand.
The case fell while the Orphnoch caught it.
"Yes!" The Orphnoch cheered before opening it to find…nothing. "What!?"
Makoto smiled.
"Idiot." Makoto said before going into his jacket and pulling out the Faiz Driver but its belt was missing and on the sides were the Faiz Pointer and Faiz Shot.
Makoto placed it on his waist and the belt came out and wrapped itself around the waist, even leaving the gadgets in their respective places on the sides. Makoto pulled out his phone and typed in the code.
"It's a good thing, I decided to upgrade the belt." Makoto said before pressing Enter.
"STANDING BY!"
"Henshin!"
Makoto placed the phone in the slot before pushing it into the buckle.
"COMPLETE!"
Makoto transformed into Faiz. He flicked his hand before charging with his sword. As he and the Orphnoch started fighting, Yang and Blake revealed themselves and joined in on the fight.
Yang was helping Faiz while Blake was helping Ruby.
"So you were spying on us." Faiz said as he kicked the Orphnoch away into Yang's direction.
"We'll talk about this later." Yang said before punching the Orphnoch.
The Orphnoch stopped himself before blue flames were emitted from his bother ends of his staff. He ducked Faiz's slash before he spun his staff, slashing both Yang and Faiz.
Faiz and Yang regained their composure before charging.
(With the twins and Weiss)
"So princess, how do you enjoy your visit to the common people?" Echo joked while Weiss just glared at her.
"Sis…" Tiber said.
"Sorry, sorry." Echo apologized before looking at her case. 'Geez, you think Smart Brain would've made something lighter to carry this.'
Weiss then decided to speak up.
"So, what should we do first?" Weiss asked.
Tiber seemed to think about it.
"Well, why don't we get something to eat?" Tiber suggested.
"Sure, why not?" Echo answered.
"I might as well." Weiss said, not really having anything better to do.
Meanwhile on the rooftop nearby, the Bat Orphnoch was setting up his gun. He was now looking at the scope of his crossbow.
"Hmmm, isn't that the corporate heiress?" The Bat Orphnoch wondered as he aimed at Weiss. "Well, the Dust business is going to be pretty hectic soon." He said before pulling the trigger.
As the shot was heading for Weiss, Tiber quickly pinned her down.
"Huh?" Echo said before seeing the Bat Orphnoch jump down from his spot. He then noticed Echo's case.
"Give me that belt!" It demanded.
"C'mon!" Tiber said as he helped Weiss up. She looked at the Oprhnoch.
"That's a humanoid Orphnoch?" Weiss asked.
"That's right, an evolved being way past you humans!" The Bat Orphnoch scoffed before whistling. Just then Roman's goons surrounded them.
Echo then set her case on the floor and opened it. She then pulled out the parts and constructed her belt. She took out her phone and typed the code before pressing Enter.
"STANDING BY!"
"Henshin!"
She placed the phone in the slot before pushing it into the buckle.
"COMPLETE!"
Echo transformed into Kaixa and pulled out her Blaygun. She placed the Mission Memory in there.
"READY!"
Kaixa then charged while Tiber and Weiss got out their own weapons to defend themselves.
(Somewhere else)
Leo was sleeping on the roof of the warehouse. Kiba appeared behind him and kicked him.
"Hey!" Leo said as he got up.
Kiba stared at him.
"How come I have to do all the hard work while you just sleep?"
"Aw come on, I'm not exactly the best student at a school." Leo answered. "So how come you didn't steal the Faiz belt?"
"Thing's bio-locked to him, there would be no point in stealing it." Kiba answered regarding a past experiment.
"Well, that's a bummer. So why are you still on their team then?" Leo asked.
"We already have the Kaixa belt in our possession. I have a feeling that we'll come across Delta too. Also, this world's Inui knows how to modify the belts."
"Really?" Leo asked. He didn't know that the belts can be modified.
"Yeah, maybe…I can have him modify mine's as well. It could certainly use a power-up."
"You sure?" Leo asked.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I mean whether that's your only reason towards being with them." Leo clarified while Kiba just stared at him. "You haven't grown attached, have you?"
Kiba glared at him.
"Don't be ridiculous." Kiba answered. "What about you? You haven't done anything productive. All you've been doing was sending Orphnochs to their deaths." Kiba said, remembering the past few Orphnoch encounters his team made.
"It's called observations." Leo answered. "I need info to in order to make an effective attack against the Riders and to get that info is by observing their combat abilities."
"So you're willing to sacrifice lives for this?" Kiba angrily asked, easily upset over Leo's methods.
"You can't get an omelet without breaking a few eggs. Speaking of which…" Leo started before an explosion can be heard from a distance.
Kiba quickly looked.
"Well, you should probably get over there and help. They will need you." Leo said.
Kiba looked back at him.
"You and I aren't finished yet." Kiba reminded before he transformed into the Horse Orphnoch. He then assumed a centaur-like form and galloped on his way.
Leo watched him go and smiled to himself.
"Well now, at least he doesn't remember that stupid dream of his." He said before he left.
(With Kaixa)
The Bat Orphnoch fired burst rounds at Kaixa while she was taking cover before firing her own gun.
Tiber was jabbing the goon with Bianca in its lance mode while Weiss was using her spells before landing a few slashes on the henchmen.
'Damn it, I'm never going to land a hit on him.' Kaixa thought.
Just then the Bat Orphnoch fired his crossbow again, forcing Kaixa out of her hiding spot.
"Echo!" Tiber called before he quickly switched Bianca to sniper mode and shot the Bat Orphnoch in the shoulder.
The Bat Orphnoch stumbled back and noticed that his shoulder had some blue flames.
"You bastard!" He called before focusing his attention on Tiber.
Just the Orphnoch fired, Weiss noticed and placed a barrier in front of Tiber before finishing off the last of the henchmen.
Just then Kaixa appeared from behind and slashed the Orphnoch before it smacked her to the side. The Bat Orphnoch was about to fire again until he heard galloping.
The others did as well and looked to see the Horse Orphnoch in his Dash form. He slashed the Bat Orphnoch and appeared in front of Kaixa. He then transformed back into Kiba, who offered his hand to Kaixa. She took it.
"So you are an Orphnoch." Kaixa said.
Tiber and Weiss were also surprised.
"Don't worry, I don't intend to fight humans." He then looked at the Bat Orphnoch before unzipping his coat, revealing his belt. He got out his phone and typed in the code.
"STANDING BY!"
"Henshin!"
"COMPLETE!"
Kiba transformed into Orga and the two Riders charged with their swords. Orga knocked the Bat Orphnoch's gun away before slashing him multiple times. Kaixa then jumped on and off Orga's shoulders to slash the Bat Orphnoch before shooting him.
The Bat Orpnoch was on the floor.
"Time to finish this!" Kaixa declared before opening her phone and pressing Enter.
"EXCEED CHARGE!"
Energy traveled from her belt into her arm. Her blade glowed bright yellow and she charged as the Orphnoch tried to get up.
When he did, Kaixa sliced him through the abdomen. The Orphnoch had a yellow X on him before he bursts into blue flames and crumbled away as dust.
Kaixa and Orga reverted back to their civilian forms before walking up to the others. Weiss looked at Kiba.
"So you're an Orphnoch."
"Yeah, but I still have my humanity unlike the other one." Kiba explained but he still sensed that Weiss doesn't fully trust him. "Look, I am human. Being Orphnoch doesn't mean I'm not a human." Kiba clarified.
"So where were you?" Echo asked.
"I told you. I had to talk to someone. Anyways, Inui and the others might be in trouble as well." Kiba said before the others nodded. "We should find them."
Kiba soon started walking away with the others behind him.
(With Faiz and the others)
The Equisetum Orphnoch was deflecting Faiz and Yang's shots with his staff while Blake and Ruby finished off the henchmen.
The two girls looked back at the others and decided to join them…until Psyga appeared in front of them and fired his guns, making the girls leap back.
"Another Rider?" Ruby questioned before Psyga gestured by having his thumb up and moving it across his neck as if it were a knife.
He then flew and the two girls tried shooting him down.
Faiz and Yang noticed this before the Equisetum Orphnoch knocked Yang aside and pushed Faiz against the wall.
Just as the Orphnoch was about to take the belt off of Faiz, the sides of Faiz's helmet opened up revealing small gattling guns and they fired lasers at the monster, pushing him back.
'Well at least I finally test it.' Faiz thought, remembering the Vulcan guns mod that he and Ruby made to the armor.
The guns closed and Faiz resumed fighting. He slashed him a few times before kicking him off to a distance. Yang was there and cocked her gauntlets before punching the Orphnoch straight back at Faiz.
Faiz quickly placed his Mission Memory in his sword.
"READY!"
He then opened his phone to press Enter.
"EXCEED CHARGE!"
Faiz's sword started glowing bright red and as the Orphnoch flew to him, Faiz sliced the Orphnoch in half. The halves crash on the ground before exploding in a ball of blue fire. When it faded, a red Phi mark took its place before fading away.
The two looked at the others fighting Psyga.
Faiz typed in a code before pressing Enter.
"BATTLE MODE!"
He then typed another code before pressing Enter again.
"AUTO VAJIN, COME CLOSER!"
(Elsewhere)
Hal was enjoying his day-off from his work as a Hunter by just watching TV. He soon heard a noise from outside and went to investigate. There he sees Auto Vajjin in its robot mode and a torn garage door behind it.
It then flew off, answering the call of its master.
"Damn kid owes me a new garage now." Hal muttered before going back to his house.
(With Faiz and the others)
Blake threw Gambol Shroud at Psyga and tried pulling on the rope to bring him down. Psyga, however, grabbed the rope and swung it and Blake around before throwing her into Yang. The two girls flew and landed inside the Dust shop.
Ruby and Faiz then tried shooting at Psyga but Psyga was evading them until Auto Vajin appeared from behind and rammed Psyga into the ground. Psyga pushed Auto Vajin off while Ruby and Faiz appeared before him and slashed him a few times.
Psyga flew and got up to see Faiz, Ruby, and Auto Vajin in front of him.
"Not bad." Psyga said before a Gray Mirror appeared behind much to everyone's surprise. "Consider this as practice." He said before walking backwards into it. It then vanished.
Blake and Yang caught up to the three.
"Where'd that Rider go?" Blake asked.
"Got away." Faiz answered before transforming back to Makoto. He looked at Ruby, who was marveling Auto Vajin's parts.
"Wow, this is so cool! A combat droid! I have one like this!" Ruby exclaimed.
"It sure is something." Makoto smiled as he walked up to Auto Vajin and pressed its button.
"VEHICLE MODE!"
Auto Vajin transformed into its motorcycle mode, much to the girls' surprise.
Yang was impressed considering she had a motorcycle of her own.
"Wow, nice ride." Yang whistled.
Makoto placed the case on the bike and typed on the console of it. When he was done, the bike took off without him.
"Still though, wonder who that Rider could be." Makoto said as the others caught up to him.
"You okay?" Kiba asked.
"An Orphnoch attacked us!" Weiss explained.
"Same here." Makoto answered back. "Along with a new Rider, he had a jetpack and tried shooting us but he got away."
"I see." Kiba said. 'Leo…what the hell are you trying to do.' Kiba thought before clenching his fist.
Makoto then took off his belt and the belt went back into the Driver, excluding the gadgets.
Kiba and Echo looked at the modified belt before looking at their cases. They then looked back at Makoto.
"What?" He asked.
(Later at Beacon)
Back in the weapons room, Makoto just finished working on the Kaixa belt before throwing it back to Echo. She caught it and the Driver was like Makoto's now but Makoto then tossed her the Blaygun.
"Sorry, I couldn't find a way to store this." Makoto apologized.
"Leave that to me, Boss." She said before hooking the Blaygun to the side of her shorts and placing the new modified Kaixa Driver in her hoodie.
Kiba was looking his modified Orga Driver.
"So what made you modify the belts, so we don't have to carry the cases?"
"Well…" Makoto started. "Since we'll be heading out on missions soon, carrying the cases will be bit of an issue so that's when I had the idea to modify the buckles so that the belt can go inside them. They'll activate and wrap themselves around your waists when placed on. Try it." Makoto said.
Kiba and Echo placed their Drivers on only for belts to appear and latch on.
"Inui, you're amazing." Kiba complimented.
"Truth be told, Ruby helped me a lot on it. She and I already came up with a dozen ideas for the armors. Anyways, I've worked enough on the belts." He then got up from his seat. "I'm going to get something to eat." He then left the room.
"So what's the deal with these random Orphnoch attacks on us? They aren't even from Smart Brain." Echo pointed out, wanting her teammate's opinion.
"Beats me, but we have to keep a close eye from now on." Kiba said.
(At Smart Brain HQ)
The CEO was in the elevator when it stopped to let in Professor Links. The elevator closed and continued moving.
"I heard what happened to the Kaixa Gear." Links started.
"Cole was reckless. I shouldn't have allowed him to receive it." Cole said.
"But, now we know that not only Inui is there but our lost test subject too." Links added.
"True, you still have her records?"
Links shook his head.
"Wiped clean but, we may have a chance to reconstruct them once we get our hands on her." Links added.
"True, anyways, what of the new prototypes that you've been developing?" The CEO asked.
"You mean my race to outsmart Inui? With any luck, they should be good to go soon."
The elevator then stopped before revealing the Lucky Clover lounge.
"This is my stop." The CEO answered before leaving the elevator.
He noticed a bar nearby and walked towards it. He sat on a stool before looking to his right. There was a young man sitting beside him. He had a tan color on his skin, red eyes, and red hair. He also had fox ears and a tail.
"Strange, you never visited me in a while." The Faunus said.
"I have an assignment for you, Ash. One that you might…actually enjoy doing." The CEO said.
"Is that so?" Ash asked with a curious look.
The CEO laid down the pictures of the Riders in front of Ash.
"So, can you do it?" The CEO asked.
Ash had a wolfish grin on his face as he took the picture of Faiz and started tearing it to pieces.
"When do I start?"
(Omake: Mistake)
Makoto was crying as held a cat in one hand and a wand in another. He also had a wizard hat on.
"I'm so sorry!" Makoto apologized.
Then, Echo came in with Kiba.
"No, he's right here. He's alright, look!" Echo said while Kiba had a confused expression on.
"Oh thank god." Makoto said before tossing the cat away.
AN: There's my latest Faiz chapter. Makoto and Ruby are now working together to improve the belts while a Luckly Clover Member is now on the Riders' trail. This will also be the last Faiz chapter that I'll post for a while, but don't' worry it's still ongoing. If you're wondering, I'm having the Gears now to work like Drivers for various reasons:
1) Carrying a case like that can cause problems when fighting Grimm.
2) Carrying a case will attract unwanted attention.
3) I just felt that this was more convenient.
Anyways, don't be afraid to review or PM me. Also, be sure to look at my other stories as well. Alright, I'm done, goodnight.
