At Robotropolis, an angered Robotnik is using a pinata shaped like Sonic as a punching bag, beating it senselessly into confetti.

Robotnik: "That rodent and her band of do-gooders are nothing but trouble! Sonic needs to be destroyed if I am ever going to take control of Mobius! But how? I would need a super robot!"

As the evil dictator begins to think to himself, tugging his mustache as tosses away the stick. As the stick lands somewhere, Snively soon enters the office with important news.

Snively: "Master of the Lard, sir? The Swatbots have returned with, according to them, a most impressive catch that will perhaps end that hedgehog for good, sir."

Robotnik: "Oh have they? I will be the judge of that! Come along, Snively!"

Robotnik walked out of his office and into the elevator, going down to the lower labs where the roboticizer stood. A couple of Swatbots are seen carrying a large box with a third holding a clipboard before saluting at the sight of his creator.

Swatbot: "Lord Robotnik, sir. We have arrived with a subject with whom may be enough to destroy that hedgehog."

Robotnik: "Inside the crate? Show me! Right now!"

The Swatbots do as they are told and open the large crate. Robotnik was excited to see what would come out, but that excitement turned into angered disappointment when he saw the tiny salamander walk out.

Salamander: "Yip!"

Robotnik: "WHAAAAAT!? What is the meaning of this tomfoolery!? Are you making me look like a fool, Swatbots!?"

The Swatbots were visibly afraid, the two next to the crate beginning to hold each other in fear.

Swatbot: "N-No, sir. We j-just thought this salamander with its regenerative properties c-could defeat the hedgehog… th-through attrition and b-boredom…"

Robotnik: "You idiots! As a robot, a salamander wouldn't be able to regrow limbs! Your logic is flawed, like your programming!"

Robotnik grabs the Swatbots, tearing them to pieces and rearranging them into a table and lamp set. Tossing away his wrench, he grabs the salamander by the tail as he groaned.

Robotnik: "This is going to fail… No amount of healing can even beat that hedgehog with this tiny amphibian!"

Snively: "Maybe not on its own, doctor. But perhaps a little boost may provide all the help it needs."

Robotnik: "I'm not in the mood for jokes, Snively. What do you mean!?"

Snively then pulls out a device he was working on in his spare time. A rather unusually shaped device with funnels coming out from all six sides of its circular sides.

Snively: "This, doctor, is my new size management device. With a press of a button, you can grow or shrink something from small to big or big to small. I have tested it on some of our Badniks and the results were very pleasing."

This seemed promising to the doctor as he looked at the device. Though his faith in Snively's devices have been tested in the past before, and not with good results.

Robotnik: "So you're saying that by increasing this roboticized salamander's size, it will increase its overall strength too?"

Snively: "Exactly, sir. It will have near universal levels of power!"

Robotnik: "Hehehe… Very well. Then perhaps it was worth the capture after all… Snively! Fire up the roboticizer!"

Snively: "Yes, sir."

The doctor laughs as the salamander, who had been pretty relaxed up until being put into the roboticizer where it finally realized it was in danger, begins the process of transformation. Once it had finished, Snively used his device to increase the new robot's size, pleasing Robotnik as he had a very devilish smile on his face.

At Freedom Fighter HQ, Sonic is seen chowing down on a chili dog she made for herself as Sally and Rotor work on adjusting their surveillance equipment, trying to get a working signal with it.

Sonic: "Boy, with reception this terrible, it's a wonder how we get cartoons at all."

Sally: "Sonic… Be mindful that Knothole Village was an outpost during the Great War first. TV was secondary. That said, this isn't exactly the SatAM channel."

Rotor: "Yep. After some manual adjustments to the old surveillance stuff, we should get a much clearer picture of whatever comes to the Great Forest from Robotropolis."

As the two adjust the antenna on top of the monitor, Sonic started seeing something on the screen.

Sonic: "Huh. We may not have SatAM, but apparently we have Godzilla?"

Sally & Rotor: "Huh?"

The two look at the screen, seeing the image of some large lizard-like creature… before then hearing a roar loud enough to send shockwaves around the base and Knothole.

Rotor: "Th-That doesn't sound friendly…"

Sally: "We're under attack!"

Sonic: "Consider the attack repelled then, Sal! I'm on it!"

Sonic finishes her chili dog before running out of the base and towards the beast on screen.

Just at the very edges of the Great Forest, Sonic runs through the area until she finds the trail of destruction caused by whatever monster had laid waste to it. Following it, she soon found herself stopping in front of a much bigger kaiju than she intended to find.

Sonic: "Whoa! You are one big lizard!"

Lizard?: "I am no lizard, rodent! I am the latest and greatest creation by the Lord Robotnik! The all powerful, all mighty, all unstoppable Universalamander!"

Sonic: "Yeah? That's a pretty big ego you got. Time to cut it down a couple of notches!"

Sonic rushes towards her opponent, aiming to beat it with a nice slicing maneuver. However, she bounces off the hard armored body of the Universalamander, causing her to hit the ground pretty hard.

Sonic: "Although on second thought… Maybe that ego is well founded…"

Universalamander: "Fool! My title as the all powerful, all… Truly unstoppable robot is not without merit! My power has been increased with my size - one hundred times stronger! Faster! And… STRONGER!"

The large amphibian then stomps his feet, causing Sonic to be forced into the air before she is then chomped down on. But as the Universalamander tried to chew on Sonic, the hedgehog bounced on the top and bottoms of his mouth, causing it to hurt inside, forcing him to spit her out.

Sonic: "Yuck! Robot saliva is the last thing I wanted today…"

Universalamander: "Then how about robot feet!?"

The Universalamander stomps his foot, forcing Sonic to move out of the way. She then tried to grip the monster's tail, running as fast with as much strength as she had to try and pull the monster down. But she was instead lifted off the ground and slammed down, then with a whip of his tail, sent flying in a random direction.

Sonic: "Oof! …Okay… This is much harder than I gave him credit for… He's no run of the mill robot…"

Sonic stands up as the robot stomps over to her, roaring loudly as he seemed to be enjoying playing with his food.

Sally and Rotor watch on from the monitors as the rest of the Freedom Fighters come in, having heard the commotion. They witness the battle, all of them worrying that this may be the end.

Tails: "Sonic! W-We need to do something!"

Antoine: "But what can we do!? We'll be squished! Eaten! Destroyed!"

Bunnie: "That ain't gonna stop me, sugah! I'm goin' out to save Sonic!"

Bunnie then runs to the exit despite Antoine's protests that she may end up dead. Rotor, however, turns to Sally, hoping she had a plan.

Rotor: "What do you think? Can we stop this monster?"

Sally: "As much as I would love to say yes, I don't we are equipped to handle this thing… Though there is one option… Sonic's last resort."

Rotor: "Y-You don't mean…"

Sally stayed quiet as she started to bite her thumb in worry. This fight was not looking optimistic from the looks of it, and she could only hope Bunnie could provide enough of a distraction to let Sonic pull her trump card.

Sonic meanwhile was having to play the dodge game as she jumps away from the Universalamander's attacks. But she did fruitlessly to retaliate where she could, but even she was starting to believe this robot was truly unstoppable.

Universalamander: "What's wrong, hedgehog!? Cat got your tongue!?"

Sonic: "No. Just thinking of what sounds better: the Universaloser or the Sala-dork!"

Universalamander: "Hah! Think of as many insults as you want! It'll only make me crush you even more!"

As the Universalamander swings his tail, he sends a powerful wave of wind that knocks Sonic off her feet and into a set of trees, knocking a few down in the process. The injured hedgehog could only grit her teeth as the large lizard bot stomped his way to her. But as the monster gets ready to finish Sonic, an extended arm punches him in the face, knocking him off balance. Sonic's stunned for a moment before then spotting Bunnie, using her cybernetic arm to land that punch.

Bunnie: "Hands off th' hog, lizard breath!"

Sonic: "Bunnie!"

Using this momentary distraction, Sonic jumps out of the pile of trees and lands a hard Spin Dash on the Universalamander's chest, knocking him to the ground. It wouldn't do much, but it will give Sonic some breathing room as she rushed to Bunnie's side.

Bunnie: "'Ah came to lend mah support, sugahog. How're ya feelin'?"

Sonic: "Not gonna lie, this guy's got me on the backfoot. I may need to call in the last resort for this monster."

Bunnie: "Last resort? What do ya mean?"

Sonic: "Can't explain now. I just need you to keep him busy for a while; I'll grab what I need and be back as quick as I can. Think you can handle yourself until then?"

Bunnie: "Leave it t' me, sug."

Bunnie got her arm ready as she saw the monster get up, looking dazed but other unharmed.

Universalamander: "Ugh… That was a cheap shot, rabbit! I'll make a meal out of you for that!"

Bunnie: "Bring it, ya factory reject! And that's 'Rabbot' to ya."

Bunnie pogoed with her legs to jump towards the Universalamander, landing a hard punch under his chin with her cybernetic arm before grabbing onto a piece of his armor with her regular arm in order to swing around and land an extended punch on his other cheek. She rolled around in the air before landing back down on her feet. The Universalamander growled before he let out a loud roar, which caused Bunnie to cover her ears in pain due to her more sensitive hearing.

Within Knothole Village, more specifically Sonic's house, Sonic had thrown around her junk in her room as she was searching everywhere for something.

Sonic: "I was sure I hid them around here… Come on, hedgehog… Bunnie needs you… Ah ha!"

Sonic pulls out a red box with golden trims; opening the box revealed a collection of green, shining jewels inside. She took out the jewels, counting them.

Sonic: "One, two, three… Seven! Okay, just enough! Now I just need to get fifty Rings! Put the pedal on the medal, girl!"

She rushes out of her house in a hurry, heading to the nearest area with a collection of Rings she could snag, hoping to find enough to use for her plan.

Bunnie kept up her fight with the Universalamander, already looking a bit worn as she skids to a stop on her feet after enduring a powerful hit from the lizard. The rabbit pogos over him with her legs as he runs by in an attempt to ram her; she quickly adjusts herself as she elbow slams the Universalamander to the ground. She then bounces off as she starts to pant heavily.

Bunnie: "Boy… This ain't the kind o' workout 'Ah was expectin' t' get today…"

Universalamander: "You are starting to annoy me now! Stop hopping around and just go down!"

Bunnie: "Sorry, sug! But this bunny doesn't go down wit'out a fight!"

The lizard swings his tail at her as he gets up, forcing her to jump back.

Bunnie's Thoughts: "Though she may be goin' down sooner if Sonic doesn't hurry up…"

In an area rich with Power Rings, Sonic is seen speeding through the area, picking up rings as she goes while counting.

Sonic: "Forty-eight… Forty-nine… Fifty!"

Sonic stops, holding the last few Power Rings she got in her palms as she places them in her bag.

Sonic: "About time. I need to juice and fast! I hope this is enough to beat that overgrown lizard… Because otherwise, we are in some serious trouble…"

Bunnie is seen getting tossed by another attack, screaming as she bounced on the ground before crashing into some trees. Her arm and legs were sparking from stress and her injuries were more pronounced now. She was at her limit now. The Universalamander began to laugh as he stared down the rabbit.

Universalamander: "What's wrong? Out of batteries!? Maybe you should've went full robot to stand a chance!"

Sonic: "Hey! Scale brain!"

This insult caught the Universalamander's attention as he turned towards Sonic, who had finally returned from her errand.

Universalamander: "Back for more!? I figured you ran away and abandoned your friend! Wouldn't that be ironic for a so called 'hero'?"

Sonic: "Yeah yeah, lord it over all you want! Time to show you what happens when you mess with the wrong hedgehog in just the right way!"

Sonic took off her bag and soon tossed it into the air. The items inside soon flew into the air as she jumped up and began to absorb the energies from them. The seven jewels… The fifty Power Rings… With these energies combined, Sonic screamed out as her blue fur turned into a mighty golden yellow, unleashing a powerful aura as she hovered in place. This display of power even surprised Bunnie as her eyes widened; she had never seen this before, let alone known Sonic had this under her sleeve.

Sonic: "Oh yeah, baby! Been a while since I had this happen! Time for a little… Super Sonic action!"

Universalamander: "Hah! You think some cheap gimmick can overpower me!? Think again!"

The monster roars before jumping to slam his tail on the superpowered hedgehog. But she easily dodges it as she moves to slam a Spin Dash right on the stomach of the monster; this caused him to reel back in pain as he was sent flying and bouncing back from the force of strength.

Sonic: "Now that's what I call an impact!"

The Universalamander picks himself up, feeling his stomach before Super Sonic flies in and slams into his face, bending his nose back before punching his left cheek, his right cheek, his left cheek again, before slamming an uppercut. She jumps back to gain some distance as she gets into a ready stance. As the Universalamander tries to recover, standing back up with shaky legs, he is hit right in the gut again by Super Sonic, who rams into him with speed high enough to break the sound barrier, with the starting position releasing a sonic boom only a second after impact later. This sends the lizard off his feet again, but it seemed like he was taking this punishment, even if he had no room to retaliate.

Sonic's Thoughts: "Man, this guy is pretty tough… That was my strongest hit so far and he still won't break… I need to get rid of this guy quick before my Ring energy runs out…"

Sonic then just decides the best course of action… is just the easy way. As the Universalamander tries to get onto his knees, he feels a tug on his tail.

Universalamander: "Urgh… What are you… up to now…!?"

Sonic: "Oh, I figured you'd like a little flight! So get ready for the Super Sonic Free to Fly!"

As he was about to ask, he was suddenly lifted into the air as Sonic starts spinning him around, going faster and faster with her spins before then letting go, right into the skies. The monster lets out a yell, which fades out as he disappears with a blink. And just in time as well, Sonic's super form soon vanishes, having used up all of the collected ring energy. As she lands back on the ground, she sighs before racing back to Bunnie to check on her. To say she was stunned silent was certainly an understatement, given her wide eyes and gaping mouth.

Sonic: "Yo, Bunnie! Are you okay?"

Bunnie: "...Sonic. What in tarnation was that!?"

Bunnie started to animate again, expressing her excitement as she just recounted the entire fight like a child watching an action sequence would, though struggling a bit due to her cybernetics weighing her down a bit.

Bunnie: "Like… What was that, sug!?"

Sonic: "Ooooh right. You never saw Super Sonic. Well, I can't explain it; none of us can, not even our local genius Rotor. But basically when I have seven of those green jewels and fifty Power Rings, I turn into a superpowered hedgehog. Not sure how or why, or if other Mobians can do the same. But it is cool. Those gems though? Those are Chaos Emeralds. Mobius is plentiful of them, but they are very hard to come by. The ones I had were found in our Freedom Fighter HQ years ago when we expanded the place."

Bunnie: "Really? Talk about a lucky break then… But why not use 'em against ol' Robuttnik?"

Sonic shook her head.

Sonic: "It's not viable. Two things… I would need to have fifty rings and those seven Chaos Emeralds; Robotropolis doesn't have any Power Rings at all, and any Chaos Emeralds the fat man happens to find is locked tightly. And Robotropolis is equipped with some kind of Chaos Diffusion field. Basically if I enter as Super Sonic or I try to transform, I just revert to my blue self right away. On top of Chaos Emeralds being hard to come by, it makes them not viable to use in Robotnik's home turf."

Bunnie: "Ah. 'Ah guess it would make sense… Still, that was awesome, Sonic."

Sonic: "Yeah… But… Let's just hope that was the last we've seen of that big lizard…"

Sonic smiles before helping Bunnie back to Knothole Village, hoping it won't be too much for Rotor to fix her up.

At Robotropolis, Robotnik was tapping his fingers in anticipation on his desk, with Snively by his side. Excited, nervous, and even a bit impatient.

Robotnik: "Where is that lizard? Surely he's destroyed that rodent by now!"

Snively: "Perhaps he lost his way?"

Robotnik: "That's impossible! There's literally a sign that says 'To Great Forest' at the crossroads!"

There was a sound that slowly started to fade - a sound of something falling. Snively looked up as he started to move away.

Robotnik: "Snively? What are you doing? And what is tha-"

There was a crash as something burst through the ceiling and landed right on top of Robotnik. It was the Universalamander, unconscious and not looking like he was getting up any time soon.

Snively: "...I think the Universalamander just came back… with a sleeper hit of a report."

Robotnik (muffled): "SNIVELY! Get this stupid thing off of me!"

Snively: "Sorry, sir, but the shrink part of my size management device hasn't been finished."

Snively pauses before then just smiling.

Snively: "Well, no one's stopping me from taking my time. Hehehe…"

Robotnik (muffled): "Snively!? SNIVELY! SNIVELY!"
