Lycans Chance
A.N. I do not own my hero academia or the characters within, I'm just playing in the sandbox.
I learned at a young age that all men are not created equal. In a world where 80% of the world is born with superhuman abilities, some abilities are regarded higher than others. The other 20% of the population is born without a
superhuman ability, though that number seems to be getting smaller the more time passes.
The world changed, some 200 years ago the first person with a quirk was born, a child that emitted light. After that more and more people started being born with quirks. Eventually there was enough precedent that the world's governments started to classify these quirks into different categories. Emitter quirks that allow an ordinary human to have a variety of different abilities, from things like telekinesis to manipulating the elements of the world, Transformation quirks that allow humans to transform themselves into a variety of things from changing the quality of their skin to gigantification. The last and probably the least liked of all these quirks are the mutant type, quirks that make their users appear different from the average human from different muscle structure to almost full animal mutation.
The world has changed, the streets looking more like scenes out of a comic book than that of an average day in the world that we used to know. That's not to say that people's hearts changed. This is where our story begins, where a young boy is going to learn that the world does not truly care for those who look different from the rest.
Third person P.O.V. Izuku Age 4
The sky was clear and blue when these two young boys started their "adventure", running through the woods behind their local park, one blonde haired and red eyed, fearless in his movements while the other boy with dark green hair and emerald eyes was fraught with anxiety and excitement. The boys themselves couldn't really be bothered to check on things like the weather or even check back in with their mothers back at the park. Having too much fun running through the woods defeating imaginary villains lurking in the shadows. " Come on Izuku, if you don't hurry up I'm going to beat all the villains and become the number one hero without you" the blonde child says to the green haired one. "I'm trying Kacchan, you're just running too quickly" the now identified Izuku shouts back as he tries to catch up to "Kacchan". "Damn it Izuku, my name is Katsuki, say it correctly" the Blonde screams back. The children are laughing and moving through the now denser woods, moving further away from the safety of their mothers.
Slowly, without their notice the sky starts to turn dark, the sun being covered by dark storming clouds, rain follows slowly at first before changing into a downpour. Izuku and Katsuki, start to move back the way that they came. "Kacchan, we need to hurry back to Aunt Mitsuki and my mom!" Izuku calls out to his friend, Katsuki replies " Please Izuku, I know that. Let's race back towards the park! ". The two boys start to run back the way that they came, running through the now dark and dreary woods. Slowly making progress through the now muddy terrain, their once dry clothes, now soaked by the rain and covered in mud. As the boys are running through the woods they come upon the clearing that leads back to the park, ducking through a hole in the tall pickett fence that they used to get into the woods Katsuki yells out to Izuku " I'll race you to the Big Tree near the park, if i beat you, you're going to be my sidekick when we become heroes! " The blonde popping of miniature explosions to punctuate his sentence before running off towards this large oak tree with gnarled and heavy branches. Izuku ran after his friend, hoping to reach the tree at the same time as his friend, tripping and falling into the mud. Izuku remembers something his mother told him about when it's storming outside and calls out to Katsuki. Shouting, Izuku calls out "Katsuki, hold on, Mom said that we shouldn't be under trees during storms like this! " As young Izuku yelled this to Katsuki, a blue flash illuminates the sky. Katsuki in his rush to meet the tree, jumps to touch the trunk before his friend can close the distance and makes contact with the trunk. "Look Izuku, I made it first, you'll have to be my side-kick" Katsuki begins to speak only to be cut off by the blinding flash of lightning and the loud snapping of the tree as one of its branches was struck by lightning. The tree once standing, tall and strong , now is alight with fire and branches splintering off the tree. With a large creak one of the lower branches, one that the boys had played on numerous times before, sturdy enough for the children to climb and jump on, broke off. Katsuki, utilizing his natural reaction time, attempts to dodge the rapidly falling branch. Jumping to get out of the way only to be hit, falling to the ground, the air knocked from his lungs. Katsuki, trying to get air back in his lungs, realizes that one of his legs is pinned beneath the tree. Starts screaming for help as he is looking at the tree that he has played on numerous times going up in flames. Hoping that someone will hear him, his mom, a hero, even his friend Izuku. Suddenly the weight of the branch was lifted, and Katsuki could move. As he looks up to see who moved the branch off of him. He sees softly glowing emerald eyes, a dark green furred head, two large lupine ears and a snout full of teeth. Katsuki scrambles backwards away from the burning tree, Sirens going off in the distance, with the light of the fires now behind the figure, he realizes that the creature before him is only slightly larger than him. As he's looking towards the figure it begins to speak, its voice familiar but the face is not. "Kacchan are you okay? That tree branch broke off and I didn't know what to do so I just rushed up and tried moving it but it was so heavy and then I felt something something wonderful and then I was able to move the branch and then you were able to get out and why do you smell like carmel, wait what are my hands covered in…" "Izuku, is that you?" Katsuki interrupts " And what do you mean that I smell like fucking carmel!" " Of course it's me Kacchan, and you smell like carmel" As Izuku responds Katsuki notices that the ears that are on the upper side of his head twitch off to the left and right, seemingly reacting to sounds " Why is it so loud out here Kacchan?" Izuku asks as he tries to cover his ears, grabbing at the side of his head where his ears used to be "Kacchan, where are my ears" "KATSUKI, IZUKU WHERE ARE YOU" "COME ON OUT BRATS, THIS STORM IS HORRIBLE, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU TWO" Inko and Mitsuki respectfully, yelling out to find their missing sons. "Sorry Izuku" Katsuki says before he is yells "WE ARE OVER HERE YOU OLD HAG AND AUNTY INKO" As the two mothers run towards the voice of one of their sons, Izuku's new ears flattened against his head, " I don't feel so good Kacchan", he said as he loses consciousness.
A few moments later, the boys mothers, seeing the tree on flames from their location, start to rush over to the small silhouette that they can see in the fire light. "Katsuki! Where's Izuku?" Inko asks as she runs up to the toddler, happy that he is safe but worried for her own son. "Aunty, Izuku's right over there" Katsuki states and points a little over to the left of where he is on the ground. As he scrambles to get up before his own mother reaches for him, his efforts are for naught as soon as Mitsuki sees her son, she scoops him into her arms. "Thank God that you're okay you little brat! What have your father and I said about running off on us when we come to this park." She asks. "Not to run so far as I can't hear you yelling for me.." Katsuki responds despondently.
Meanwhile Inko is struggling to see in the lowlight conditions, the bright light of the blazing tree being slowly doused by the heavy rain. "Izuku, where are you baby? Answer Mamma baby, please" She pleads into the low light. There is the crack of thunder and a bright white flash illuminates the area for a second. There on the ground is a lupine child, where once a normal boy had been, his head mutated into that of a canine, Hands once the soft pink of young human skin are now covered in a thin coat of emerald fur, where fingernails once were small claws now exist. Inko, unsure if this boy is her sweet little Izuku, gently picks the boy up, cradling his body close to her chest she starts to try and get the child to wake up. "Izuku honey, I need you to wake up for me, wake up for Mamma please baby" . The child begins to stir, his ears twitching with the noise, eyes once emerald green snap open and an amber yellow glow looks upon Inko. "Mamma, my head hurts and you're talking so loud and I'm hurting Mamma". Inko, standing up from the ground, her child clutched to her chest, turns to her friend and together they start to walk back to the park, their children held close, for today these boys would not be leaving their mothers loving gazes again.
