The organ began to play music, as the guest smiled when Effie walked Susannah down the aisle, followed by Ruby.
The music changed to "here comes the bride," as the guest stand up, when Julia peered at the door, in her cream yellow dress, and looked at William who took a big gulp, and smiled, as she smiled back.
Thomas appeared to her side, as they linked arms and walked down the aisle.
All Julia could do is smile at William, as Susannah spoke out, "mama petty"
"Yes she is" Effie said
As they got to the alter, Thomas gave her a hug, and whispered, "you look beautiful"
"Thank you, again Thomas" she whispered back
They looked at each other with smiles on each other and he winked, as he sat down, and she turned to William as he grabbed her hand and led her to the alter and kneeled
The Father tells the guest to sit, and began the ceremony.
"We are gathered here today, on this beautiful spring morning, to witness the renewal of vows, William Murdoch & Julia Ogden.
At this time of the ceremony, I will skipped the traditional vows, as the couple have their own vows to say to each other…William"
William and Julia stand, as he takes her hands in his and looks into her eyes, "from the moment, I met you, I always knew you were the one for me. You were the first person that accepted me, and first person I talked to when I needed advice or was frustrated with a case. But mostly just needed a friend to talk too. I'll never forget the day, when we met. You were wearing the navy blue dress, which I always adored, and your hair was in a braid, over your shoulder.
You introduced yourself and shook my hand and right then I knew, I found my true love.
Now, here we are nearly 20 years later, renewing our vows on our 10th wedding anniversary, surrounded by our family, friends and in front of our beautiful little girl" he said as they both looked at Susannah, who was smiling at them, "and today, I vow from this day forward, I will love and honor you. Be the best husband, father and partner in crime to you."
Julia wiped away her tears, as she pulled out a folded piece of paper, "William, when I first met you, I was told you were the best detective the station has ever had and you were uptight laced Catholic."
He chuckled as she continued, "but when I looked in your eyes, I saw there was so much more to you. I saw a man who had faith, wisdom, knowledge, and most of all, a good heart.
Not only were you the first man to accept me as an equal, and as a doctor, but you became my first real friend, my best friend in fact.
As for falling in love with you, I did not plan on that, but so happy it did.
While writing these vows, I kept thinking when was it when I realized I was in love with you…was it when you bought the burial for Eddie Green, was it when, I told you all the amazing things that are going to happen, was it when you held me in your arms and danced, after I was almost killed? Well, after figuring it out, it was all those things. Every single thing we did together, made me fall in love more and more in love with you.
We had many hardships, but it made our love stronger. Now here we are, in front of our friends and daughter, renewing our vows on our 10th wedding anniversary.
I can't imagine my life without you and I vow from this day forward to keep being the most supportive and loving wife, mother to our child and partner in crime."
She folds the paper up and tears up, "I have so much to say, but all I want to say is William, I love you. Always have and always will."
William with tears in his eyes, caressed her cheek as he gave her a kiss.
"Wait a minute you two" says the father
They chuckle, "do you continue to take each other as husband and wife, to have and to hold from this day forward?"
"I do" they both said
"You may kiss again"
As they continued, everyone sat up, cheered and clapped for them.
As Effie let go of Susannah, she approached William, who picked her up as they walked down the aisle again as a family.
