Chapter 11: The Battle

Percy POV

Hazel had gotten us around the city and passage to Hubbard Glacier. Once they had arrived at the top they noticed the remnants of old Roman fortifications. It looked as big if not larger than Camp Jupiter.

That's when they noticed the cloaked figure chained to the wall. "Thanatos" Hazel muttered. As they walked up to him, and as he lifted his head up to see he was approaching his hood fell away and Hazel gasped. Both me and Frank looked at her and noticed her blushing I could see a tidbit of jealousy in his eyes but he put it away to focus on the quest and we continued walking until we were right next to him. Once there I asked "How do we free you" he answered saying "Only the fire of life can free me. I got this Frank said" albeit a bit nervously. He reached his hand over to Hazel who reluctantly took out a piece of firewood holding it gingerly as he got down on his knee to start freeing Death the sound of stomping feet was heard they looked up to see a giant taller than Polybotes with gold glittering in his hair he raised his hands and an army of shades appeared on the sides of him with Roman banners. Percy gasped as he realized this was the same fifth cohort that Micheal Varus had quested to Alaska with. "Yes young Demigods these are former Romans, now they are my warriors" the bain of Pluto bellowed. Hazel whistled and in a blur, Arion arrived beside her, she took out her cavalry sword and said to me "Protect Frank I will distract Alcyoneus" I nodded in acknowledgement before taking our Tide.

Hazel raced off to battle the Giant and the shades pressed in on me. I shot water from Aestus and used it to push away some of the shades and give me room while I battled the closest ones demolishing them. As he was doing this he looked down and saw them slowly reforming he cursed and kept defending Frank who had 2 chains to go. As I was fighting them I saw one legionnaire with an eagle standard and smiled at my luck carving a path to him and taking the Legions standard after killing him. When the shades saw this they completely forgot about Frank and followed me. I was backing to the edge of the glacier and was tiring I shot water out of Aestus and had it wrap around me feeling instantly energized. That's when I heard Frank yell I look over and notice Thanatos gone and Frank saying "They can die now".Frank started running over when I heard a scream Hazel had been hit by Alcyoneus's staff and looked at Frank and yelled "GO" he quickly obliged sprinting over there I saw him turn into an eagle. My Jaw dropped as I was watching this I almost got stabbed I refocused my attention on the shades killing about ten before Frank Yelled my name "PERCY" I saw him on top of an unconscious giant I nodded and prayed to my Dad that this worked and stomped my foot and as I wanted the Glazier completely crashed and me and the shades fell as I looked down I saw the water and knew I would be fine.

FRANK POV

I can't believe it Percy had destroyed the glacier getting rid of the shades and maybe even himself. I choked back a sob and hit Alcyoneus in the head with the random shield I had found again taking my anger out on him. I looked at Hazel and said " We need to go now" She nodded and spurred Arion forward

Once they crossed the international border I jumped off the Giant and cut the rope letting him slam into a boulder. When he didn't get up me and Hazel walked over to him, and stabbed him in the heart while Hazel cut off his head and we rushed back to Arion to find Percy.

When they got to where the glacier used to be they saw Percy levitating about the water in a meditating pose. When they got there he opened his eyes saying "what's up guys" I just stared at him saying "How did you not die from that fall." Percy chuckled before responding it's the water it protects me and cushions me" Hazel and I nodded at this response.

Ride to Camp Jupiter

Percy POV

As Arion was taking us to Camp, I regained all my memories and filled Hazel and Frank in about my life. They were in awe of all the stories I even told them about Annabeth and all that had happened there.

Finally, we made it to Camp and I was stiff. I looked at the chariot we had ridden in and all the imperial gold weapons and talked to Arion saying "Can you this down to the legion? What do you think of course I can get it down there" Arion Replied (horse cussing removed) with that I rode on Frank's back (he's in eagle form) and Hazel rode on Arion as we delivered the weapons to the fifth I handed the Eagle to Dakota and said "lead them to victory" I raced into the fray stabbing anything I could find when monsters started to get pushed away I looked around and saw I had two hurricanes around me but they weren't affecting the legion and I kept charging until I saw Polybotes. I killed my storm and and charged to help her she was dodging and stabbing whenever she could when she saw me she smiled in a face that almost looked like it was saying I could kiss you right now. I ran at Polybotes and slashed at his legs stabbing his calf he roared in pain before it healed. He looked around trying to find who stabbed him when he laid his eyes on me. His face changed into a large smile while he said "Son Of Neptune I will enjoy killing you" "I'd like to see that happen Polybotes I really would but I've seen Alyconeous and he looks a lot stronger than you." This enraged Polybotes and I ran a plan forming in my head as I ran I taunted Polybotes until I reached Terminus's statue. I was out of breath once Terminus saw me he said "Why can't they attack more slowly i'm only one god I can't do everything. If you want to save the city help me defeat this giant and the battle will be over" I said "Fine" he answered let us kill the bane of your father. Terminus grew some stone arms and his pedestal transformed into legs I stared at him my mouth hanging wide open as he brandished an imperial gold sword. Once Polybotes reached them he taunted them saying "Who is your new little friend, I will kill him as well. Ahh that's where your wrong this is my friend Terminus he's a god." I answered back. Polybotes snarled, and charged.

Reyna's POV

When I had seen Percy all I had wanted to do was kiss him it felt so good to see him again. Once the army was defeated all that was left was Polybotes and Percy had him distracted as she rode Scipio over to them she felt her jaw drop as she Terminus with arms and legs fighting alongside Percy. Polybotes threw his Trident at Percy who dodged before stabbing his gladius through Polybotes' stomach and Terminus decapitated him in one swing as the giant turned to dust. I landed Scipio and the legion swarmed Percy and lifted him on our shoulders and started chanting Praetor he looked at me in shock. In response I grabbed his hand and squeezed it which made him smile and blush. We carried him around the border of the city for a lap with Terminus following behind and getting praise form about half the legionnaires.
