Chapter 2

The next day, Ash and Alice are on their AK151 airplane, sitting in the pilot seats. Alice peers out the window and says, "Pallet Town is up ahead. We have to prepare for landing."

"Good," Ash replies, focusing on the controls as they begin their descent.

As they land the plane in Pallet Town, Ash can't help but notice how much has changed in the past six years. The once bustling town is now quieter, with only a few residents willing to return after the traumatic events surrounding the murder of Ash's mother. Despite the murderers having faced justice, the shadow of the past still lingers over the town.

However, this somber reality has provided Professor Oak with the perfect opportunity to expand his ranch. With more space and fewer disturbances, his research and Pokémon sanctuary have flourished.

Ash's old house, on the other hand, holds a special place in his heart. Determined not to let its dark history define it, Ash has invested money to rebuild the entire place. The renovated home stands as a testament to his cherished childhood memories, a symbol of resilience and new beginnings. He refuses to abandon it simply because it was once a crime scene.

Alice peers out the window, then turns to Ash. "So we are going to set a portal at this house, right?"

"Yeah," Ash responds, his voice steady with determination. "After our discussion, we believe it's perfect to set up a portal for Fighting Type new Pokémon." He glances around, taking in the familiar surroundings with a mix of nostalgia and resolve. "Since we're here, let's meet Professor Oak before continuing with what we came for."

They make their way toward Professor Oak's lab, the path bringing back a flood of memories for Ash. As they approach, Professor Oak spots them and waves warmly, a smile spreading across his face. "Ash, Alice! It's good to see you both. What brings you to my lab?"

Ash smiles back, shaking the Professor's hand firmly. "Well, Professor, we have some interesting news that we decided to share with you."

They sit down, and Ash begins to explain Arceus and Mew's ambitious project of creating new Pokémon species. He outlines the plan to install portals in various locations, each dedicated to a specific type.

Professor Oak's eyes widen with excitement, his enthusiasm palpable. "New Pokémon? That is wonderful news. The prospect of discovering entirely new species is extraordinary. If only I were able to see them..."

Ash looks puzzled, concern edging into his voice. "What do you mean, Professor?"

With a sigh, Professor Oak leans back in his chair, his expression turning more serious. "I've been meaning to tell you both. I've decided to retire. It's time for me to pass on the responsibilities and enjoy some peaceful years. Samuel Jr. will be taking over the lab and the ranch."

Alice gasps softly, her eyes wide with surprise. "Professor, we didn't know..."

Oak smiles warmly, though there's a hint of sadness in his eyes. "It's something I've been considering for a while. But hearing about this new project, I'm even more excited for the future. Even if I won't be at the forefront, I'll always be here to support you in any way I can."

Alice tilts her head, curiosity in her eyes. "So if you are going to retire, who is going to help out with the lab?"

Professor Oak smiles reassuringly. "You don't need to worry about it. I am sure that Gary will be a good candidate for taking over my job."

Alice's eyes light up with a mix of surprise and amusement. "Well, that might be great, considering he is dating my sister. But I thought it would have been Tracy."

Ash chuckles softly, shaking his head. "Tracy is more of a Pokémon artist, not a Professor. Besides, he's been helping my sister Insey a lot recently with the Honey Cafe."

Alice nods, a smile playing on her lips. "It is fascinating to see the sparks between them. I am very happy for them as well."

Professor Oak's expression turns knowing, a twinkle in his eye. "So, you are not just here to ask for my help with the project, right?"

Alice leans forward slightly, her tone serious. "The thing is, we want to make new entries for those new Pokémon, and we want some advice on how to do them, considering you are an authority on the Pokédex."

Professor Oak thinks for a moment, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "Ah, I see... So you want to make a Pokédex for them. Well, you could just use the Rotom Phones."

Ash nods but his expression remains concerned. "Yes, but the problem is that the portals should be kept a secret, and so should the Pokémon that Arceus and Mew are creating. We're not sure what will happen if they come to this world. Will they become predators for the other Pokémon? You know that some Pokémon like Wyrdeer and Kleavor went extinct because of similar issues."

Alice adds, her voice tinged with worry, "And there's also the problem of trainers trying to capture them as trophies, among other potential issues."

Professor Oak's face softens with understanding. "I see your point. The secrecy is paramount to avoid any ecological imbalance or exploitation. In that case, you'll need a specialized, secure system for documenting these new species. Perhaps a standalone device, similar to the original Pokédex, but encrypted and only accessible to those involved in the project."

Ash and Alice exchange a hopeful glance. "That sounds like a solid plan," Ash says, feeling a bit more at ease.

Alice nods, her determination returning. "Yes, that could work. We'll need to develop it carefully, ensuring it's secure and user-friendly for our team."

Professor Oak smiles warmly, his eyes filled with pride. "I'm confident you both will handle this brilliantly. It's an exciting challenge, and I'm honored to support you in any way I can."

Professor Oak stands up and heads to a side room, returning a few moments later with a large, dusty box. He places it gently on the table and opens it to reveal 20 unused Pokédexes neatly lined up inside.

Ash's eyes widen in surprise. "Are those the Pokédexes?"

Professor Oak nods with a smile. "Indeed they are. These are older models, but they are reliable and can be modified to suit your needs. We can reprogram them to securely store and catalog information about the new Pokémon."

Alice steps closer to get a better look. "These are perfect. With some updates and the right security measures, they can be exactly what we need."

Ash reaches out to pick one up, turning it over in his hands. "This brings back memories. These devices have always been essential for trainers. Now, they can help us with this new challenge."

Professor Oak chuckles softly. "It's fitting, isn't it? The Pokédex has always been about discovery and learning. Now, it will help you document and protect an entirely new set of Pokémon."

Ash nods, his determination renewed. "Thank you, Professor. We'll take good care of these and make sure the new Pokémon are documented properly and kept safe."

Alice adds, "And we'll make sure only those who need to know about these Pokémon have access to the information."

Professor Oak smiles warmly, his eyes filled with pride. "I'm glad to see you both taking this so seriously. It's a big responsibility, but I have no doubt you'll succeed."

After returning to their house in Pallet Town, Ash and Alice are surprised to find all the leaders already there.

Ash raises an eyebrow in surprise. "Wow, that was fast. When did you all get here?"

Mark grins mischievously. "We sneaked onto the plane just before you took off."

"It wasn't easy," Reisa adds with a chuckle. "We had to make sure you didn't notice us."

Alice looks around at the assembled group, her tone dumbfounded. "We didn't notice... but to think all 21 of you would do such a thing..."

Max steps forward, curiosity in his eyes. "So, how was the talk with Professor Oak? And what was that box?"

Ash holds up one of the Pokédexes from the box. "These are the prototypes of the Pokédexes. Considering the new Pokémon project, we're going to set our recordings in these."

David steps forward, his interest piqued. "And that means you need my help with them, right?"

Alice smiles, nodding. "Besides you, I'm sure that Alexander and Relena can help out as well. But it's better if we all work on them together." She refers to their inventor disguises with a playful twinkle in her eye.

Ash looks around at his friends, feeling a sense of unity and purpose. "Alright, let's get to work. With everyone contributing, we'll make sure this project is a success."

The group gathers around the table, examining the Pokédexes and discussing the modifications needed. The room buzzes with energy and determination.

Ash looks around at his friends, feeling a sense of unity and purpose. "Alright, let's get to work. With everyone contributing, we'll make sure this project is a success."

Eve, looking over one of the Pokédexes, says, "We'll need to ensure the encryption is top-notch. We can't risk any of this information leaking out."

Rosa nods in agreement. "And we should also consider the user interface. It needs to be intuitive so we can document everything quickly and accurately."

David adds, "I can start working on the security protocols. I'll make sure only authorized personnel can access the data."

"Though we're not sure what we can do considering we're not good with devices, we can still help out as much as we can," Lucine says, her expression earnest.

Ash nods, appreciating the willingness to contribute. "If that's the case, how about going to Mt. Moon to set up our location for the portal for Rock Types?" He pulls out a document and spreads it on the table. "I was thinking about building a cave house in Mt. Moon."

Luke's eyes light up with excitement. "A cave house sounds cool! I mean, it's close to the fossils and rocks..."

Trenor adds with a nod, "Yeah, and caves are usually cool, making them perfect for some Rock and Ground Pokémon. Plus, the natural environment there would be ideal for these types."

Alice glances at the document, tracing the proposed layout with her finger. "We could incorporate natural rock formations into the structure, making it blend seamlessly with the environment. It would provide a unique habitat for the new Rock Type Pokémon."

Insey smiles, feeling more involved. "That sounds like a great plan. We can start by surveying the area and mapping out the best locations for the portal and the cave house."

Ash feels a surge of gratitude and determination as he looks around at his friends and allies. "Thanks, everyone. This is going to be a team effort, and together, we can make it happen."

Reisa grins. "So, when do we head to Mt. Moon?"

Ash checks the time, then looks back at the group. "How about we start first thing tomorrow? We can gather the supplies we need today and be ready to go in the morning."

Max nods in agreement. "Sounds like a plan. We'll make sure everything's ready for the trip."

With a collective nod, the group sets to work, the room buzzing with energy and determination. The task ahead is daunting, but with their combined skills and teamwork, they feel ready to face whatever comes next.

Here is a new chapter, and now they are going to begin with the new Pokemon project, I hope you like it and the next chapter will begin with the Fighting types that I made.
