Episode 304: A Deadly Alliance: Wind
Shortly after earning his seventh Gym Badge from Tate and Liza, Sora had Absol and Sableye healed in the Pokémon Center and started to make some plans for his eighth Gym battle. It was a known fact that Grass and Electric-type Pokémon had the advantage over Water-type Pokémon, but there was a couple of other things he had to consider. One, the Gym Leader may have Pokémon that are Water and Ground-types, so he knew Pokémon like Quagsire and Whishcash fits the bill perfectly. The other thing he had to look out for was that it was common knowledge that Water-type Pokémon can use Ice-type moves; and he knew Grass-type Pokémon are weak against Ice-type moves. Just when he was thinking, Kairi tapped his shoulder.
"You awake, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, I've been thinking," Sora said.
"Yeah? About what?" Kairi asked.
"Well, I was going over my strategy for my Gym battle. It's been a while since Pikachu had a Gym battle, but there's good chance that the guy or girl filling in Wallace's shoes might have a Ground-type Pokémon to counter Pikachu's electricity, but there are my Grass-type Pokémon, but he or she can and would teach them Ice-type moves or have Pokémon that are also Ice-types," Sora said.
"You'll think of something, Sora. Just train hard and you'll do fine," Kairi assured her boyfriend. Sora just blushed and smiled.
"You're right, Kairi. You always know what to say," Sora said. He gave his girlfriend a kiss on the lips.
A little while later, Tate and Liza joined the group for some dinner at the Pokémon Center's messhall and they talked, leaving out the details of the Keyblade, not wanting to freak them out. Sora and Karen shared with the twin Gym Leaders about being twins themselves.
"Seriously?" Tate asked.
"You and she are twins?!" Liza asked.
"Yeah. I'm actually the older twin," Sora said.
"But you don't even look like each other," Liza said.
"It's not an identical twin thing. I looks like our mom while he looks like our dad," Karen said.
"Funny, because Tate is the younger twin and I'm the older twin," Liza said.
"I really wish that you wouldn't tell everyone that I'm the younger twin! We both share the same birthday!" Tate exclaimed.
"I know, but I only do it because it makes you mad," Liza said. Tate's face turned red with anger.
"Why did I have to be born second? If only it had been the other way around and then I'd be the big brother and you would be my little sister!" Tate vented.
"I know how it feels, Tate. I wished that I was the older brother," Max said.
On the next morning, Tate and Liza took them on a tour of the Space Center, showing them around their favorite spots. The twins explained that their Baltoy are used to simulate a Pokémon battle in outer space. They also told them that their dad is the Space Center's director and lead astronaut. The couple were astounded to hear it.
It was getting close to launching time as the twins brought thr couple and the Pokémon to witness the shuttle launch. Commander Jim smiled as he saw his kids.
"Liza, Tate. I knew you wouldn't miss this for anything," Commander Jim said.
"You know it, dad!" Liza said.
"It's way too good to miss!" Tate said. Commander Jim smiled. He notices the group of kids with them.
"Who are your new friends?" Commander Jim asked.
"Dad, this is Sora and these are his friends," Liza said.
"Sora battled us and he beat us," Tate said.
"Well, you have to be pretty good if you beat my kids in battle. I hope that you didn't give my kids too much trouble in your battle," Commander Jim said.
"I was more worried about them giving me trouble," Sora said, making the head astronaut laugh.
"I'm also going to he battling them, too, sir," Brendan said.
"Is that right?" Commander Jim asked as he laughed. "You kids be sure to win it this time."
"We'll do our best, dad," Tate said.
"It was nice meeting you. I'm going to head off to the shuttle, so could you join your mom in mission control?" Commander Jim asked.
"Sure thing, dad," Tate said.
"Just come back to us in one piece," Liza added.
"I promise," Commander Jim said.
They went into the control room, figuring that the woman they bumped into earlier was the twins mother.
"Hello again. Come here to witness the shuttle launch?" Rachel asked.
"Uh, yeah," Sora said.
"We hope it's okay, mom," Liza said.
"We thought we'd battle Brendan after dad goes off into space," Tate said.
"It's perfectly fine, kids. They're more than welcome to witness the launch," Rachel said.
"Rachel, your husband had just entered the shuttle grounds. We're ready to launch at anytime," one of the staff members said.
"Then, let's get the show on the road," Rachel said. Commander Jim and his crew entered the shuttle and strapped themselves in as they prepared to launch. They do a routine check of the equipment as the clock runs.
"T minus ten seconds and counting," another staff member said.
"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Blast off!" Rachel called out. The engines started roaring as the shuttle had lifted itself into the air. "We have lift off!"
All the staff members all cheer as the mission has officially begun.
"Dad has blasted off into space," Tate said.
"To boldly go where no man has gone before," Sora said.
"To go and discover space Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Okay, someone's been watching some space movies," Riku teased. The whole group laughed.
"Very funny," Sora deadpanned.
The twins kept looking at the screen and knew their dad was going to have quite a thrill out in space. They turned to each other and nodded, knowing what was ahead of them.
Later that afternoon, Brendan was now having his Gym battle against Tate and Liza. He was very fired up by the battle Sora had from the previous day.
"The battle against the Gym Leaders, Tate and Liza and the challenger, Brendan from Littleroot Town is about to begin! The battle is a double battle, so the challenger will be using two Pokémon while the Gym Leaders will be using one each! During the battle, neither the challenger nor the Gym Leaders are allowed to substitute Pokémon! The battle is over when both of either the challenger's or the Gym Leaders' Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Now, choose and begin!" The referee announced. Brendan, Tate, and Liza has taken out their Pokéballs and threw them.
"Solrock! Go!" Tate called out.
"You're going in, Lunatone!" Liza called out.
Both of Tate and Liza's Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Sceptile, Flygon! Go!" Brendan called out. Both Sceptile and Flygon emerged from inside their Pokéballs, ready to battle.
"Look at that. Brendan has chosen Sceptile for this battle, and it looks like his Trapinch evolved," Kairi said.
"I figured he was gonna send out Sceptile since they're both Rock-types, but Flygon is a bit of a stretch since Ground-type moves won't touch them since they both have that Levitate ability," Sora said.
"Right, but Flygon can fly," Max said.
"Flygon! Use Dragon Breath on Lunatone! Sceptile! Use Bullet Seed on Solrock!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile and Flygon fired their attacks at their opponents.
"Solrock! Use Psychic to block their attacks!" Tate ordered.
"You use Psychic, too, Lunatone!" Liza ordered.
Both Solrock and Lunatone uses Psychic to stop their attacks in their tracks before they even reached them.
"Send them back!" Tate and Liza ordered. Solrock and Lunatone sends their attacks back at Sceptile and Flygon.
"Dodge it!" Brendan called out. Sceptile and Flygon narrowly avoided their own moves. "Sceptile, Flygon! Use Dragon Claw!" Sceptile and Flygon rushed at Solrock and Lunatone, landing a hit on the both of them. "Great! Flygon! Use Dragon Breath on Solrock!" Flygon fired Dragon Breath on the sun-shaped Meteorite Pokémon.
"Lunatone! Use Ice Beam on Flygon!" Liza ordered. Lunatone fired Ice Beam, hitting Flygon on the mark.
"Flygon!" Brendan exclaimed.
"Thanks, sis!" Tate said.
"Anytime," Liza said.
"Sceptile! Use Solar Blade!" Brendan ordered. Sceptile extends his arms and his leaves began to give off a glow, building up energy.
"Solar Blade takes time to charge up, so we better move fast!" Tate said.
"You're right! Lunatone! Use Ice Beam again, but aim it at Sceptile!" Liza ordered.
"Solrock! Use Rock Slide!" Tate ordered.
Solrock and Lunatone unleashed their attacks at the Forest Pokémon.
"Flygon! Use Sandstorm!" Brendan ordered. Flygon unleashed a Sandstorm to block Ice Beam, but the rocks still went through and landed a hit onto the Mystic Pokémon. It did little damage to Flygon since being a Ground-type Pokémon. Sceptile jumped over Flygon and swiped Solar Blade at Lunatone and Solrock, dealing some heavy damage on the both of them. "Good work!"
"Liza, I got an idea, so I need you to cover me," Tate said.
"Okay," Liza nodded.
"Solrock! Solar Beam!" Tate ordered. Solrock began to build up energy.
"Lunatone! Fire your Ice Beam!" Liza ordered. Lunatone fired Ice Beam right at Sceptile and Flygon.
"Dodge it!" Brendan called out. Sceptile and Flygon dodged Lunatone's Ice Beam, but just in time for Solrock to fire Solar Beam, hitting them both. Sceptile and Flygon fell on the ground, but they were still willing to battle for their Trainer and their teammates.
"Look at that. Sceptile and Flygon are still willing to keep going," May said.
"They feel Brendan's spirit and they won't call it quits," Riku said.
"Keep going, Brendan," Sora said.
"Sceptile, Flygon," Brendan said. Sceptile and Flygon stood back up and then Sceptile's body gave off a green aura from his body. Brendan knew it was Sceptile's ability, Overgrow and Sceptile's Grass-type moves becomes stronger than normal. "Sceptile! Bullet Seed!" Sceptile fired Bullet Seed, landing a hit onto Solrock and Lunatone.
"Solrock!" Tate gasped.
"Lunatone!" Liza also gasped.
"Brendan's making a comeback!" Kris said.
"He's going to win this if he keeps this up!" Ethan said.
"We better finish this off now!" Liza said.
"Agreed! Solrock! Use Solar Beam!" Tate ordered.
"Lunatone! Use Ice Beam!" Liza ordered.
Solrock quickly builds up energy for Solar Beam and then fired it as Lunatone fired Ice Beam, creating a powerful combo attack.
"Flygon! Dragon Breath!" Brendan ordered. Flygon fired Dragon Breath and successfully blocked the combo attack. "Use Solar Blade!" Sceptile began to build up energy with his leaves again. Solrock and Lunatone kept on firing Solar Beam and Ice Beam, but Flygon kept holding on with Dragon Breath. With Solar Beam fully charged, Sceptile ran across the battlefield and slashed at the two Meteorite Pokémon, sending them down at the ground. Solrock and Lunatone struggled to get up, but fell back down, beaten.
"Solrock and Lunatone are both unable to battle! Sceptile and Flygon wins! The winner is Brendan from Littleroot Town!" The referee announced.
"I knew you'd do it, Brendan!" May praised her crush.
"We all did!" Lisia said.
"Brendan is better than I thought," Aqua said.
"I agree. After seeing Sora battling yesterday, it's not hard to see why," Terra said. Tate and Liza called back their partners and approached Brendan. Tate was holding the chest again.
"Great job, Brendan. The way your Sceptile and Flygon battled tells us that you're going to get pretty far," Tate said.
"I agree with my brother. You're an exceptional Trainer. As proof of your victory, we should present you with the Mind Badge," Liza said as Tate opened the chest as Liza took it out and gave it to him. Brendan accepted his Gym Badge.
"Thanks. Battling you both was a thrill for me and I enjoyed every bit of it," Brendan said.
After the battle, the group returned to the Pokémon Center to heal Brendan's Pokémon. And that's when the group decided to split up again.
"You sure, Brendan?" Sora asked.
"We're sure, Sora. May, Max, and I will be meeting you over to the next island," Brendan said.
"Also, the rest of us are thinking of doing some exploring for a bit, and meet up with Hikaru," Riku said.
"But we'll meet you over at Sootopolis City," Ash said.
"It's not no problem, guys," Sora said.
"Just take care of yourselves until then," Kairi said.
"We will," Lyra said.
"You do the same," Naminé said.
"So, Karen, Ven, Aqua, Terra, Michael what are you going to do?" Sora asked.
"Well, we were thinking of coming with you," Karen said.
"Yeah, I still need to speak with Rei Sakura, but I figured I'd help you train for your next Gym battle, Sora," Michael said.
"I had a feeling you'd be tagging along, Michael," Kairi said.
"Yeah, you're more than welcome," Lisia said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Michael, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair have taken off and headed for the beach. The rest of the group went their own ways. Sora exchanged Sableye, Absol, and Dusknoir for Wailord, Shiftry, and Ludicolo.
When they arrived to the next island, Sora and Michael decided to have a practice battle, so they decided to make it a double battle. Michael had taken out two of his own and threw them.
"Jolteon, Ursaring! Go!" Michael called out. His Jolteon and Ursaring emerged from inside. Sora took out two of his own and threw them.
"Grovyle, Combusken! You're up!" Sora called out. Grovyle and Combusken emerged from inside.
"Ursaring! Use Hammer Arm on Grovyle! Jolteon! Use Thunderbolt on Combusken!" Michael ordered. Jolteon fired Thunderbolt at Combusken while Ursaring came at Grovyle.
"Okay, guys! Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Grovyle and Combusken dodged Jolteon and Ursaring's moves with Quick Attack and then rammed into their opponents.
"Jolteon! Pin Missile on Grovyle! Ursaring! Slash! on Combusken!" Michael ordered. Jolteon fired Pin Missile at Grovyle and Ursaring came at Combusken with a Slash.
"Grovyle! Bullet Seed!" Sora ordered. Grovyle fired Bullet Seed at the pins, blocking them. "Combusken! Use Sky Uppercut!" Combusken rushes at Ursaring and gave the Hibernator Pokémon an uppercut.
"Not bad, Sora, but I'm not done yet! Jolteon! Use Double Kick on Combusken! Ursaring! Use Slash on Grovyle!" Michael ordered.
"Grovyle! Use Leaf Blade on Ursaring! Combusken! Fire Punch on Jolteon!" Sora ordered. Combusken lands a Fire Punch on Jolteon while Grovyle uses Leaf Blade on Ursaring. Jolteon and Ursaring were still standing, and they glared at their opponents. Grovyle then started to evolve. "Grovyle! Grovyle's evolving!" Grovyle had now become a Sceptile. "You evolved!"
"That's awesome," Michael said. He was amazed and impressed by how his Sceptile had evolved in the middle of a practice battle. "Wanna keep going?"
"I'm willing if you are, Michael," Sora said.
"I was hoping you would say that. Jolteon! Pin Missile on Sceptile! Ursaring! Use Slash on Combusken!" Michael ordered. Jolteon fired Pin Missile at Sceptile as Ursaring rushed at Combusken.
"Use Leaf Blade!" Sora ordered. Sceptile uses Leaf Blade to block Jolteon's Pin Missile. and then swiped it at Jolteon. It was more stronger than it was a Grovyle. "Combusken! Use Double Kick!" Combusken gave Ursaring a couple of kicks. "Okay, Michael, let's make a change." Sora took out Sceptile and Combusken's Pokéballs. Michael took out two of his own.
"I'll take you up for that," Michael said, calling back Jolteon and Ursaring. Sora and Michael took out two more and threw them. "Gardevoir, Donphan! Come on out!"
"Go! Shelgon and Metang!" Sora called out. Shelgon and Metang both emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Okay, Dragon-type moves won't affect Gardevoir, but they can affect Donphan."
"Gardevoir! Use Moonblast on Shelgon! Donphan! Fire Fang on Metang!" Michael ordered. Donphan rushes at Metang with its tusks emitting fire while Gardevoir fired Moonblast at Shelgon.
"Shelgon! Protect! Metang! Get behind Shelgon!" Sora ordered. Metang does get behind Shelgon as Shelgon creates a protective barrier. Gardevoir's Moonblast bounces off and Donphan strikes the barrier since aiming at Metang. "Metang! Use Meteor Mash on Gardevoir!" Metang came at Gardevoir with a blue aura. Metang lands a hit on Gardevoir, dealing some heavy damage on it. "Shelgon! Dragon Breath on Donphan!"
"Gardevoir! In front of Donphan!" Michael called out. Gardevoir got in front of Donphan and took the hit. It does nothing to Gardevoir. "How do you like that, Sora?"
"Not bad," Sora said. He knew Michael took a play from his playbook.
Unknown to the two Trainers, Zell and Luft were watching and waiting for their moment to strike.
"Gardevoir! Psychic on Shelgon! Donohan! Use Fire Fang on Metang!" Michael ordered. Gardevoir uses Psychic on Shelgon, lifting him up in the air as Donphan rushes at Metang with Fire Fang.
"Metang! Flash Cannon!" Sora ordered. Metang fired Flash Cannon at Donphan, landing a hit. "Flash Cannon again, but aim at Gardevoir this time!" Metang fired another Flash Cannon, hitting Gardevoir, making it drop Shelgon.
"Gardevoir! Psychic on Shelgon again!" Michael ordered.
"Protect!" Sora ordered. Gardevoir uses Protect to block Gardevoir's Psychic. "Okay, use Fire Fang!" Shelgon creates fiery fangs and came at Gardevoir with it.
"Dodge it!" Michael called out. Gardevoir dodged by doing a pirouette. "Use High Horsepower!" Donphan rushes at Metang and Shelgon with High Horsepower, dealing damage to the both of them. Shelgon and Metang got up and they started to evolve as well. The newly evolved Salamence then took flight, realizing his dream of flight.
"That's awesome! Salamence and Metagross!" Sora praised his newly evolved Pokémon.
"Yeah, that's awesome! Let's keep going! Gardevoir! Use Moonblast on Salamence! Donphan! Use Fire Fang on Metagross!" Michael ordered. Both of Michael's Pokémon launched their attacks at both of Sora's Pokémon. Sora knew Salamence had to learn a new move since evolving, so he had to use it.
"Salamence! Fly!" Sora ordered. Salamence flew up high in the sky, avoiding Gardevoir's Moonblast. "Metagross! Use Bullet Punch!" Metagross lands a few punches with Bullet Punch. Salamence then came down and struck Gardevoir hard, taking it out. "Salamence! Dragon Breath on Donphan!" Salamence fired Dragon Breath at Donphan, resulting in knockout. Michael was impressed by how Sora battled and he called Gardevoir and Donphan back.
"Nice job, Sora. You're even better than Karen said," Michael said.
"Thanks. You're no slouch yourself," Sora said, shaking Michael's hand. "It's no wonder you took down Team Shadow."
"I appreciate it," Michael said.
Sora and Michael rejoined Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lisia, and the Pokémon when a strong wind began to blow.
"Hey, did it get windy all of a sudden?" Karen asked.
"Pikachu?" Blossom also asked.
"I don't remember the weather app saying anything about wind," Lisia said.
"Does it seem so unnatural?" A familiar voice asked. Sora, Kairi, and Lisia knew who it was.
"Oh, no," Sora, Kairi, and Lisia said in unison. A tornado comes down in front of them as Zell and Luft revealed themselves.
"Been waiting long, Ketchum?" Luft asked.
"Missed me?" Zell asked.
"Zell!" Sora exclaimed.
"And Luft!" Kairi also exclaimed.
"Who are they?" Aqua asked.
"That one guy is Zell. He's a Team Rocket fanatic, and the other guy is Luft! He's another Team Rocket fanatic, but he has powers over wind," Sora said.
"Luft is one of the Elemental Bosses," Kairi said.
"Elemental Bosses?" Michael asked.
"Nice of you to give us an introduction, Ketchum. You might have beaten Rokku and Fue along with this guy, but I got to have my turn," Luft said.
"Hey, I kicked Ozean's butt, too, Luft! And if Brendan can kick your butt, then so can I!" Sora said.
"Not if we kick yours first," Luft said.
"Before we cut you down to size!" Zell said, summoning his Keyblade as Zell took out his mace. Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades.
"Terra, Aqua, Karen, keep Ven safe!" Sora said.
"Already ahead of you!" Terra said.
"Come on, Ven!" Aqua said.
"But, Aqua!" Ventus tried to argue.
"No, it's too dangerous! Come on!" Aqua said.
"She's right! The Shadow Pokémon experience is nothing compared to this," Karen said.
Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lisia, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair got to safety when Michael, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, and Celeste has joined the couple. Michael summoned his Keyblade.
"Mind if I join in?" Michael asked.
"If you're good with Pokémon, let's see how you handle a Keyblade," Sora said.
"Don't worry about me, Sora. I took down several Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed with this thing. These guys won't know what hit 'em!" Michael said.
"Enough talk! Let's fight!" Luft stated as he swings his mace, picking up a strong wind. Zell then rushes at Sora, ready to strike him down, but Sora swings his Kingdom Key, blocking Zell's Keyblade. Pikachu came at Zell with an Iron Tail, but he blocked it as Angel fired Swift, hitting him. Xipak and Celeste came at Luft with a combo Quick Attack. Kairi casts a blizzard spell, but Luft swings his mace, making the ice spell shatter as Michael came at Luft, but he blocked with his mace and pushed him down. "You think you stand a chance against me, punk? You're not even close to my league!"
"That's what a lot of Team Shadow goons said, but I showed them!" Michael said.
"Then they have to wimps if they lost to you," Luft said. He swings his mace again as Michael ducked his head and gave Luft a smack, but Luft smacked him back and gave him a couple of punches. He rushes past Kairi and Michael in incredible force and speed as he came between Sora and Zell.
Luft swings his mace at Sora, but he blocked with his Kingdom Key as Zell swung his own Keyblade at Sora, but he blocked it as well. Kairi and Michael came to Sora's rescue as Michael clashed his Keyblade against Zell's.
"From new to another, this is your last day on the job," Zell said to Michael.
"I don't think so!" Michael said, clashing his Keyblade against Zell's. Zell attempts to strike him down, but he dodged and gave him a push on the ground.
Luft summoned a tornado around his legs and ascends upwards and he unleashed mini tornadoes, sending them at Sora casts a thunder spell as Pikachu and Xipak fired Thunderbolt at Luft. Angel and Celeste fired a combo Swift, hitting him. Kairi casts a crystal spell, but Luft blocked with his mace. He swings it down at the couple and the Pokémon, blowing another wind at them.
Michael and Zell kept on fighting each other as Zell casts a blizzard spell, hitting him. Zell came running at him, intending to finish him off when Michael flipped him and sent him flying.
Meanwhile, Brendan, May, and Max have arrived to the island.
"Man, Kairi is going to bust a button when she hears about this," Brendan said.
"Yeah. She and I need one more each, so we'll both be fighting over that ribbon," May said.
"Uh, you're going to have to tell her first, May," Max pointed out.
"Yes, I know that, Max," May said in an annoyed tone. She noticed a tornado in the distance. "Hey, isn't it weird seeing a tornado when the day is so sunny out?"
"I know that's not a natural tornado, that's for sure! It's gotta be Luft!" Brendan exclaimed.
"Not him again," Max groaned.
Brendan, May, and Max rushed to the scene and spotted Sora, Kairi, Michael, Pikachu, Xipak, and Celeste fighting Zell and Luft.
"Looks like Luft's not alone this time," Brendan said.
"Guys, over here!" Karen called out. Brendan, May, and Max turned to see Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lisia, and the four Pikachu.
"Max, hurry and get to them! We don't want you to get pulled in!" May said.
"This is one of those moments I won't argue with you," Max said, running towards the small group as Brendan and May summoned their Keyblades and rushed into action. They cast a combo thunder spell, hitting Luft, making him fall on his back. He got up and sees Brendan with his eyes burning with rage.
"You!" Luft snarled.
"Sorry that we're late for the party! Our invitations must have gotten lost in the mail," Brendan said.
"We don't mind that you crash it!" Kairi said.
"The party is almost over anyway," Sora said.
"But there's going to be a funeral afterwards! Yours!" Zell said, rushing at the Keyblade wielders, but Sora casts an aero spell, blowing Zell back as Kairi casts a fire spell, but Luft just blew it back. May came at Luft and gave him a kick on his leg. He yelled in pain as Zell attempts to stab her with his Keyblade, but Brendan came to May's rescue by casting a water spell, pushing him right into Luft.
"Hey, watch it!" Luft snapped.
"You watch it, you blowhard!" Zell snapped back.
"Okay, now!" Sora yelled. Sora, Kairi, Brendan, May, and Michael came at Zell and Luft and swiped their Keyblades down, sending them backwards. Luft had taken some heavy damage as did Zell. Seeing this was a losing fight, Luft took Zell in a tornado and retreated.
"You win this round, but next time we meet, you're not walking away!" Luft said with his voice echoing all around.
The tornado meets up with the rest of the Elemental Bosses, panting heavily.
"So I take it that you lost, too, huh?" Rokku taunted.
"Shut up! I would have had them if it weren't for this loser!" Luft said, accusing Zell for his defeat.
"Hey, you weren't exactly pulling your weight! All you did was blow a lot of hot air!" Zell argued.
"That's enough. Zell, why don't you take all the time you need to recover and we can try again," Ozean said.
"You're kidding, right? I had three of your flunkies with me and they blew it! What makes you think you can do any better?" Zell asked.
"Because I'm the strongest of the Elemental Bosses. Sora will have to face me again, and I don't plan on losing to him again," Ozean said.
Back with the group, Brendan and May casts a cure spell on Sora, Kairi, and Michael, healing their injuries.
"Thanks for that, guys," Michael said.
"You don't need to thank us, Michael. We had to," May said.
"She's right. That's what you do for a friend," Brendan said.
"Besides, we did say we were going to meet you here," May pointed out.
"You're right, May, you did," Sora said.
"Anyway, Kairi, there's something I think you should know," May said.
"What?" Kairi asked.
"There's a Contest taking place on Izabe Island, so I thought you should know," May said.
"Well, I'll need to prepare for it then," Kairi said, turning to Angel. "Isn't that right, Angel?"
"Eevee, vee!" Angel nodded.
"Then our next stop is Izabe Island," Sora said.
"But what about your Gym battle in Sootopolis City, Sora?" Ventus asked.
"Don't worry, Ven. It's on the way. Besides, you're going to see it," Sora said.
"That just gives you more time to train for it, doesn't it, Sora?" Karen asked.
"Sure does," Sora agreed.
Now that a Pokémon Contest is just around the corner, Kairi and May will have to get ready for it, but will Kairi earn her fifth and final Conest Ribbon, or will it be May to win it?
