Chapter 3:
Aiden was in the armoury, loading a P90, grabbing a belt-load of grenades, the knife Ronon gave him on his 19th birthday, while loading up, he looks at his wedding ring, a smile on his lips, "You are the best thing to happen to me.".
"Am I intruding?" asked a familiar feminine voice, it was Teyla. Aiden didn't even turn around, "Nah, you're good. Been some time huh?".
Teyla enters and stands next to him, "Yes, it's been many days.".
Aiden then decided to pull his genius out, "One thousand-eight hundred and twenty six days to be exact.". Teyla chuckled at his remark, he was always an interesting individual. "You always found a way to be the smartest person in the room.".
"Damn straight.".
Teyla then invited him to sit down with her, "I heard you are fathering a child.".
"Yeah, can you believe it, I am gonna be a dad at twenty-eight.".
Teyla smiled again, "You must be really happy.".
Aiden goes silent, "Uhmm, yeah, about that, I am scared shitless to be honest."
Teyla chuckled again, "You have nothing to fear, being a parent is the best thing to happen to me.".
Aiden frowned at that one, "Even if Sheppard isn't his dad?".
Teyla then smirked again, "Who says he is not going to have biological children?".
Aiden, putting the pieces together, pulled a Joey realization from Friends, "Oh, OH!". He looks down to her abdomen, "When did this happen?".
Teyla chuckles at his funny reaction, "Two months.". Aiden was unsure of what to say, "Congrats?".
But then Kai came in, "We're ready, enough chit chat.". Aiden gets up and grabs his last few items, "Let's go kill the son of a bitch.".
Arriving on the planet, Aiden, Kai, Sheppard, Lorne and Ronon do a weapons check, "Where did you say was the base?". John points west, "That way.".
Aiden clenches his jaw, the memories coming back, "Fuck, I hope my aim is still good.".
Moving in the direction of the base, Aiden clenches his gun even harder, Kai, noticing his brother's behaviour, nudges him playfully, "Hey, we're gonna kill this guy, and when we do, you will go home to your wife, and that son of yours.".
"How do you know it's a boy?".
Kai gave his famous 'You're kidding me' face, that's when Aiden remember they at telepathically linked. "Oh, right.".
Continuing the walk, Ronon jogs up, trying to chat with Aiden, "So, you gonna be a daddy huh?". Aiden just turns back to Teyla, who found the trees interesting, but not hiding her smirk.
"Yeah, I am gonna be a dad. And my brother an uncle.".
Ronon shoulder bumps him with a slight chuckle, "Good job, on getting your wife pregnant.". Aiden froze for a second, that was unexpected, "Thanks." Was all he said. Ronon then stops, "You hear that?".
Aiden listens, enhancing his senses, he receives an image, something moving in the woods, something fast, "To the left, past the trees, heading towards us, eta… 3… 2… 1!" Aiden grabs his knife and throws it, catching the sleeve of, "Todd! What are you doing here?! I could've killed you!".
"My apologies, Aiden O'Neill, but when I heard you returned I decided to see if I could be of assistance." The wraith offered, which made Aiden even more pissed. "Assistance? Last time I saw you, you drained the life out of me, reactivated my nanites and now you wanna help!?".
Todd shrugged, "Basically, I wish to make amends, Michael is also an enemy of ours, and I believe he holds the answer to liberating us, from feeding on humans.".
"He what now?" Lorne asked.
Todd went on to explain how Michael came across an old lab Atlantis was using before abandoning it, turns out one of the Ancient's scientists didn't wipe the drives as they were supposed to, could be accidental, could be intentional, either way, Michael made huge progress where Atlantis failed to.
Todd was desperate for the tech, he wanted to use it as a cure, but Aiden had other ideas, he wanted to use it as a weapon. "What are we waiting for? Move out!". He moves as fast as he could, determined to get the research and weaponize it, but wait, why would Michael be looking for such research?
