Chapter 5

The Master

California, 7 am – 4 days later

Bella's pov

We could already count the days until summer vacation. I was happy and sad about it at the same time. If we entered the holiday, I couldn't see Aaron anymore. We really started to get along. I also made friends with Liliana. She was sweet when she helped me and Panzie that time so we started talking. I had a lot of free time because.. 4 DAYS AND NO VILLAIN! I was happy because I really didn't have time to fight villains. The teachers started giving us more and more homework. Other than that, everything was fine. I was curious about Liliana's crush. She didn't want to tell me yet because we had just met, but she told me he wasn't from our class. So it wasn't Aaron! Yay! Aaron loves someone else and I have to give up, but I just can't. He's so sweet and caring! I was surprised when Liliana told me he wasn't from our class. Something that was worrying me was.. why did the villains stop threatening the town? I mean, the bad guy who transformed people into villains. Maybe he had a plan, so I feared the next attack. I still didn't know 2 things. One, why did he want the miraculouses? And two, who was the master? Someone chose me and Panzie for this and I think it's some kind of master. I don't know yet. Bearzy always says: 'He will step out of the shadows when he thinks you're ready'. What I wanted to say is… I am ready already! About Liliana's crush, she says I know him, but he isn't from our class. Hmmm… I still have no idea who he is. Liliana switched seats with someone from the front row so she could sit beside us.

"Bella? Do you know how to solve this problem?''

"Yes.''

"Please help me.''

We were in the middle of a Math test and she wanted help? Well, she wasn't very good at Math, like I wasn't good at English.

*after I explained the problem quietly*

"Thank you for your help!''

"Stop talking! I am trying to focus.''

"Sorry. I was explaining something to Liliana.''

"Focus on the test!'' said the Math teacher

"Okay okay'' said Aaron

Suddenly, all the phones beeped. An alert? The teacher let us read it because it was an ALERT! The alert said: 'There are a lot of black butterflies on the loose. Stay in your houses. People are turning into villains because of them. Bearzy, Panzie, if you see this, come save us from them! '

More villains at once?! I was about to faint. That was the plan! I had to do something! Everyone was sent home, so I had the chance to transform.

Aaron's pov

When I received the message, I was in shock. How did he do that? I had to transform. I exited the classroom because the teachers sent us home anyway, and transformed. When I was about to exit the school, Liliana said 'hi'

"Panzie! Heyyy! Why didn't you tell me you're coming?''

"I didn't know you were at this school.''

"OMG ARE YOU TOO?''

"N-no. I came to see if everything is okay.''

"Yay! Such a great coincidence!''

Yeah.. of course it was a coincidence. That was close. Then Bearzy appeared.

"Hey guys! I didn't know you kept in contact with Liliana.''

"Well, yeah.''

Liliana's pov

I instantly noticed that Panzie was blushing. I was so jealous. How could Bearzy reject such a cute boy? I was jealous and mad at the same time. I would have been a way better girlfriend than Bearzy. Even if she didn't know Panzie liked her, she could still talk more to him.

"Hey Bearzy! Good to see you, I guess.''

"Panzie, we have to go. The town is in danger!''

How dare you steal Panzie from me! You don't even like him. I can tell from your facial expressions. As I said the other day, I am really good at reading people's facial expressions. I didn't want to hurt Panzie by saying that so I decided not to tell him and let him find out by himself. One day he will tell her, right? I am going to wait for that day because when Panzie tells Bearzy he likes her, Bearzy's going to reject him and he will move on. At least this is what I hope. He will have eyes for other girls as well! Hehe. This was a good plan.

"Okay! See you Liliana''

"Bye Panzie! Lo- I MEAN GOOD LUCK!''

"Okay?''

I was so close to tell him: 'Love you' It's good that I stopped. I went home and started doing homework.

Panzie's pov

Finally Bearzy started being nice to me. I liked her more and more. I really thought of telling her, but it was too early! About the villains, THERE WERE ABOVE 100. How could we defeat them alone?

"We have no chance'' I said

"Don't be so pessimistic. We will find a-"

Then Bearzy got hit in the head with a guitar.

"HAHAH. I AM THE BEST SINGER!''

I started to use my powers to bump them into each other and get the evil butterfly. Someone started singing rock. It was awful! He really had to practice! Bearzy got up and started spinning in a circle very fast, thanks to her powers, and everyone except me got dizzy. There were 4-5 villains in that circle. When 2 villains fainted, she took the accessories and broke them. She kept the butterflies in the kit. Some of the villains that were in the circle didn't faint, but were still dizzy. I took the 2 people that were freed and got them out of there. I tried to make the accessories come to me with my powers. They were all holding them back. I managed to get 3 accessories. This time Bearzy took the people to safety. We fought for our lives there. It was a bit scary now that I think about it. We needed help. They were too many villains at once. Suddenly, in the middle of the fight, Bearzy got called by someone unknown. She answered and said:

"Hello? Who's this?''

"Come to California café.''

"If you look outside you can see I am in the middle of a fight and I don't even know you!''

"Come to the café if you need help with the fight''

"Go! We need help. Plus he can't do anything, you're transformed.'' I said, very convinced

"Oh.. okay then''

She left. I was all alone with that many villains! I had to fight them.

Bearzy's pov

Even if I was scared, I stepped out of the plate and went to the café. This was the most famous café from our town. It had delicious coffee and cookies. Yummy! When I finally arrived, the café seemed closed. Was this some kind of prank? Not again! First Panzie, now this strange man who was on the phone! It wasn't April Fools! Then I heard someone say:

"Come in.''

I was frightened but I entered the café. The lights were off.

"Turn on the lights..''

I turned on the lights. I noticed it was a box with weird drawings on the table.

"I believe you wondered who chose you and Panzie for this important quest of yours, right?''

"How do you know that?!'' I asked

The man was wearing black clothes and a mask so I couldn't see who he was.

"I am the Master.''

"You're lying for sure''

"De-transform in the bathroom and let the Kwami tell you if you don't believe me.''

I went straight to the bathroom and de-transformed.

"Why did you de-transform when there are still villains outside and your powers are still working?"

*after I told the whole story*

"I see. I will see if he's lying. Stay here.''

Then Bearzy 2.0 exited the bathroom. (I named her that because we have the same name) I listened to the whole conversation.

"Master?''

"Bearzy! Good to see you. The other Bearzy wanted to make sure I wasn't lying.''

"I don't know why she said you are a man.'' Bearzy 2.0 said

"She said that? Maybe because I seem like one with this mask.''

Then she took of her mask and I found out she was a girl. She was very beautiful. She had brown straight hair and blue eyes. She seemed to be 17, just like me! I entered the room and she saw me.

"Hello. Now that you know I am not lying, you can choose a miraculous from the box.''

"There are more miraculouses?!''

"Yes, of course.''

Then she entered a code and the box opened. Wow! I was shocked. So many miraculouses!

"Every Miraculous has its own description in the mini drawer. Read all of them and choose 1.''

"Why 1?''

"Because it is a mission for one miraculous only.''

"Oh. "

I've read all the descriptions. They were very interesting.

"Did you decide?''

"I choose…''
