Chapter 13

I got here too late

Bella's pov

Aaron and Liliana are blowing up my phone with messages, but I don't want to look at them. I just blocked them after 30 messages. Maybe I should listen to their explanation. Or no? I don't know what to do anymore! Suddenly, someone breaks the window. It isn't my window though. It's the next door's window. I am scared, but since I have super powers, I can handle it. Even if it's a thief, I will stop it. Or maybe I shouldn't. I think they will know Bearzy lives in this bloc if I do. I am going to sneak out to see what it is. My mum is in the kitchen baking a cake, so it can't be that hard. I slowly walk by the kitchen door. I am lucky because it's closed. I sneak out of the house carefully while I hear mum listening to rock music. Funny. Anyway, I see my neighbour, Sarah, scream like crazy.

"A villain! We have to get out of here mum!'' says Sarah

"I am not letting my gold there!"

"You have too!"

So it is a villain. I am not scared of it, but I am terrified of seeing Panzie. I hope it isn't going to be awkward. I don't know anything about the villain. I have to find out what power it has.

"What are you doing here Bella?!"

Oh no. My mum found out pretty quick I am not in the house.

"I-I just w-wanted to see if everything is oka-y-y''

"Stop with this nonsense. Go back to your room.''

"Bella! I am so happy you're here. Can I stay with you? A literal villain is in the house and mum doesn't want to leave!"

"You can stay.''

In that second, the villain exits their flat.

"You can't escape me, Mariela.''

"Give me my gold back!'' says Mariela, Sarah's mum.

"No thanks.''

The villain is made out of gold, apparently.

"You know this isn't right, Mirabel!''

"I am not Mirabel anymore. I am Goldie!'' says Goldie

"Enter the flat Sarah!"

Then, me, my mum and Sarah run into the flat. I decide to take Sarah to my room.

"This is way too scary!" says Sarah.

"You're right!" I say.

I have to think of an excuse for me to leave the flat again. I have to help Panzie. I know Sarah sleeps early, and it's 11 pm so I think she's going to fall asleep if we watch a movie or something.

"Want to watch a movie?"

"Sure! I really want to get my mind off this.''

After a lot of arguing, we decide to watch Mean Girls. After 10-15 minutes, Sarah falls asleep. Just like I expected. I get up and transform. When I exit the door, my mum doesn't see me. Panzie is already here fighting the villain. When he looks at me, he is confused. No no no no no. I just exited MY FLAT! What if he knows me in the other life?! I am going to need to give the miraculous back if he finds out! I am screwed!

"What were you-"

"I was checking the other flats for damages.''

"You know you can fix it after right?"

"Oh! I meant hurt people.''

"Okay the-"

Then Panzie gets hit in the head with a golden lamp.

"You can't defeat Goldie, the queen of the gold.''

That's when I realise Mariela is now a statue. Oh no. What if she turns me and Panzie into statues as well? We have to be sure nothing bad happens.

"I will go get help. Stay here.''

"Ok!''

I run to the door quickly. It is locked. What should I do?! I find a metal chair and break the wooden door. I get out and hide in a bush. I can't go to the hiding spot transformed. I can walk freely now. After a 10 minutes walk-run, I finally get to the hiding spot. I enter and see her with the miracle box in her hands.

"How did you know I am going to come?"

"Every master has a compass that tells him where are all the miraculouses.''

"Then why don't you use it for the Moth miraculous?''

"There is a signal that connects the miraculous and the compass, but if it's broken, you can't see where it is.''

"I am going to need another miraculous.''

"Go right ahead.''

I am looking at that box clueless. What should I pick?

"I choose the kangaroo miraculous.''

"Very well. Here.''

Now that I have the miraculous, who should I give it to? I suddenly have a person in mind.

"Thank you for the miraculous. I am going to fight!''

"Bye!''

I leave the hiding spot happily. I go in the same bush and transform. I hope Panzie isn't going to be a statue when I get back. Low chances. I knock on her window, but the wrong person answers.

"Oh! Hello Lulu.''

"Omgg, you're Bearzy! "

"Yes, and I am searching for Lola.''

"Come inside.''

She gathers me inside happily, but I just see a bit of jealousy on her face. Lola enters the room.

"Oh hi Bearzy! What are you doing here?''

"I will leave you alone.''

Lulu exits the room and gives Lola a cold look.

"Why are you searching for me?'' says Lola.

"I am here to give you this.'' I whisper.

I hand her the small box where the miraculous is. She seems very shocked to see the box, but takes it and opens it slowly.

Lola's pov

I am very surprised Bearzy chose me for such an important quest. I have to beat the villain with them! I am so excited about it.

"T-This is a miraculous?!''

"'Be more quiet!''

I can't be quiet! This is so cool!

"I have a thing to say about your identity.''

"What is it Bearzy?''

"You can't tell anyone, not even your sister, or I can't give you the miraculous ever again.''

"Got it! What miraculous is this?''

"It is the miraculous of the kangaroo. You can jump very high and be fast. I have almost the same powers as you, but with the Bearizman as well.''

"You're right! How can I transform?''

"You have to say: Kanga, jump!''

"Who is Kanga?''

"Put the necklace on and you will see.''

I put the necklace on and a small, cute creature pops up to be in the room with us. It is a brown, miniature kangaroo.

"He is Kanga. He gives-" says Bearzy.

"I give you the powers.'' Says Kanga.

"Hey! Don't interrupt me!''

"Hehe.''

"You have to be quick. Transform!''

"Kanga, jump!''

I am suddenly wearing different clothes. I have kangaroo ears now! I am matching costumes with Bearzy. Almost. When I start jumping of joy, my head hits the wall.

"Ow! What was that?!''

"Be careful! You're a 'kangaroo' now so if you jump, you jump 3 times higher. "

"I see. I will be careful.''

"Let's go.''

Bearzy takes my hand and we both jump out of the window. I hope my mum and my sister aren't going to be worried. This battle will be amazing!

Panzie's pov while Bearzy was out to get help.

This is one of the hardest villains I ever fought. I hope Bearzy will be quick. I try throwing things at Goldie, but she is too agile! I don't know what to do. I am lost. I have useless powers. I am nothing without Bearzy. She can get help any time, so I am not really necessary in every mission we have. I can't call other superheroes, and I need her to defeat the villain. Or it's more suitable to say, she needs me, not the other way around.

Bearzy's pov

We are walking on the buildings as fast as we can, but for Lola this is something new, so she is clingy.

"Ooh, sorry! I was about to fall again!'' says Lola.

"No problem! I was just like you at the beginning.''

"What is going to be your new name?'' I say, curious.

"My name is going to be Kangaresse.''

"'That's a cool name.''

We are running. We have to get there quick. Me and Kangaresse step in the bloc, but I don't get to say a thing. I think I am dreaming. What happened?! How did this even happen? I didn't get here in time to save him!
