Chapter 9
[Crew POV]
"Man, what an utter jerk. Makes me wonder, was I ever like that?" Rex mused, not entirely convinced that anyone could surpass his antics. It brought back memories of his younger years, but this was a new level of awfulness. "I mean, seriously, the dude makes Cecil look chill. I didn't think that would ever happen. The dude needs to take a chill pill."
The other all voiced their agreement.
Luffy was the last to voice his opinion. "Stupid butt, butler, he stinks." Luffy was honestly bummed at what happened. "We were so close to getting that ship if only he weren't there." Ussop was upset, so he decided to take a walk. Luffy was just a little behind him. They eventually reached a cliffside, hearing Kaya's butler talking to a weirdo.
[Ussop POV]
"Change of plans, Jango. You will head back to your ship and attack as soon as possible. A little runt has gotten in my way. Make sure she is dealt with accordingly and get that will." Klahadore roared.
"Alright, Kuro, the plan to assassinate The Rich Girl is a go!" Jango shouted with a manic gleam in his eyes.
"Wait, they're planning what now?" Ussop whispered, with panic in his voice.
"Hey, Stupid, dumb butler guy, we won't let you have your way!" Luffy yelled, uncaring how Ussop might react. He was surprised when Rudy showed up behind him.
"This is as far as you go, Kuro. Straw Hats and Guardians rise!" he shouted, and Mark, Zoro, Rex, Samson, Nami, and Amanda came out of the forest."
"What! How could you have figured out my plan so quickly? I just made the changes."
"Funnily enough, Amanda was the one to figure it out." Rudy started, "She did so a little over two weeks ago. She just needed to get proof to show to Kaya."
*Flashback
[Amanda's POV]
Amanda looked through the old stack of wanted posters that Ussop brought her. He mentioned he got them from a wandering bounty hunter duo that had been roaming the seas hoping to make a name for themselves. Amanda caught a glance at a certain slick-backed pirate known as Kuro, the man with a thousand plans.
"Lady Kaya, I need to speak with you urgently about something important." After Kaya was pulled aside, I explained how Kuro was manipulating her.
"Wait, that doesn't seem right. You mentioned getting those from Ussop, correct? And he got them from bounty hunters? I adore him, but he has a reputation for exaggerating and playing pranks. You'll have to show me some proof first." Kaya said, unbelieving in what she was told.
*End Of Flashback
[Kaya's POV]
Kaya walked solemnly along the winding path to the shore, her steps heavy with anticipation. She had promised to meet Amanda there, and as the ocean breeze tousled her hair, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at her heart. As she arrived, the tranquil waves crashing against the shore brought a momentary sense of serenity, but it was quickly shattered by the realization of Klahadore's betrayal. The sting of disappointment pierced her soul as she reflected on her lack of trust in Amanda, a friend who had immensely gained her respect.
"KLAHADORE, WHY!?" Her anguished voice reverberated through everyone's souls—except for the one she desperately reached out to. "Why'd it have to be you? After everything you've done for me." She didn't get to finish before the man himself yelled out.
"You're nothing but a nuisance whose parents were easily fooled. It was so easy to kill them! I will not tolerate or devote any more time to dealing with a stuck-up brat who can't get over their parent's death!"
Kuro sprung towards the kaya cat blades, which were crossed between each other, resembling a Venus fly trap."Lion Spring!" He disappeared.
With a menacing glint in his eye, Kuro was already lunging forward to strike at Kaya. His muscles coiled like springs. Meanwhile, with a determined stride, Jango had hastened away to gather his loyal crew. In a stroke of luck, a fearsome monster emerged just in time to intercept him, its immense form casting a foreboding shadow over the scene.
[Rex's POV]
Rex's voice boomed over the chaos as everyone gathered around, "Alright, everyone! We need to focus our efforts on taking down that Weirdo!" he said with determination; Rex and the rest of the group swiftly surged forward, closing in on Jango. The mad hypnotist was not going to be caught that easily. He suddenly disappeared out of everyone's sight, saying two words. "Escapist Dreamer."
"Damn It, where could he have disappeared to? There wasn't even a hint of sound," Mark exclaimed, his frustration evident. The others nodded, equally puzzled about the man's sudden disappearance. As they stood there, perplexed, Rex's expression changed as he suddenly thought about the situation.
"Rudy, think you can use your drones to find that bastard?"
Rudy, oozing confidence, reassured, "Whatever he used shouldn't affect anything inanimate. It will be a piece of cake." With conviction, he hollered, "Nano Tracker Storm!"
The nanobots released from his drones swarmed and whirled like a tornado, their minuscule forms creating a tempest that swallowed the surrounding forest in a mesmerizing spectacle.
"Damn, we're too late. Jango is already back on his way and with reinforcements." Rudy said while observing the growing crowd.
"I call this fight. I have yet to display my talents." Rex said. Feeling optimistic about his victory, he then stated, "Feel free to thin down these background characters."
Rex saw many pirates behind Jango, but only a few looked dangerous. One big pirate wore striped black and red pants, a yellow sash, a partial mask, and a cape. Another pirate was slimmer, wearing a baggy blue shirt, short shorts, heavy eyeliner, and toxic green hair. The third pirate was a girl wearing a pink cloak that transitioned to yellow and black round-framed glasses and bright blue-cyan hair in a blunt bob haircut.
"Buchi, Sham, Miau, you are the pride of the Black Cat pirates. Show these fools were not to be messed with!" The three glanced at each other, seemingly knowing what each other was thinking.
"Captain, I'm not so sure about this. We're not that strong. All these people look like they can easily beat us." Buchi and Sham said, completing each other's sentences.
"We'd have a better chance of making it out alive if we teamed up with them instead," Miau said flirtatiously, licking her lips and gazing at the men."
"Just do what I asked!" Jango yelled, getting more agitated by their cowardice and horniness. The trio started to run forward, trying to seem scared, emphasis on tried.
"Why are you even trying? You guys are terrible at acting. Actually..." Rex stopped and pressed his hands together before finishing, "You're terrible at everything. Why try at all?" Rex's goading made the two brothers angry and made the sister pause.
"I'll show you terrible; Buchi, toss me into the air." Sham requested his of his brother.
Shouting "Nine Lives Strike!" with fierce determination, Sham unleashed a rapid succession of sharp strikes, each impact building in intensity and precision. The cuts on Rex's arms get more intense. It was lucky he only had to deal with half the pain. The pain would be worth it if this worked.
"Shit, I'm not sure how much longer I can hold up," Rex said, hoping to fool them.
"Not so sure of yourself now, huh," Sham said, sure of himself.
He would have noticed where he was headed if he hadn't been so arrogant. Rex smiled, sure of his victory. Sham was confused and stepped on a bump he could've sworn wasn't there before. This, in turn, made him happy.
"Man, so easily manipulated," Rex said, insulting them again.
"Area Denial: Controlled detonation!"
An explosion blew Sham into another charged explosive, causing a chain reaction that threw Sham into the air. It blew Buchi away and caused Maiu to bound off the nearest tree onto a nearby boulder.
" I wouldn't stop there either. Hot stuff." Rex stated. Getting Maiu all flustered in the process.
"Wha-"Before she could utter a word, she was sent flying down the hill, blacking out as she tumbled."Rex one, Pirates Zero," Rex finished, looking cool while crossing his arms. At the end of the fight, he saw Zoro looking at him like he had just destroyed 1,000 barrels of sake.
"Why do you look so hurt?" Rex asked grinning
A/N: Sorry for writing this garbage the way I am. If you need any clarification, feel free to ask. I'll answer to the best of my abilities. Just remember, we don't need to take this shit too seriously. This is just fan fiction at the end of the day. One that I'm writing for fun. (;
