Chapter 1
Lux, The Mage Of Light
In the universe of Runeterra, people don't allow themselves to be carried away by their emotions, because everyone knows the danger they run by trusting others too much, and so the cycle of uncertainty and betrayal begins among the great kingdoms, tribes and their leaders. And because of these uncertainties and betrayals, wars develop and evildoers take advantage of those who still allow themselves to be led by their beliefs and their hearts. It was in the midst of one of these betrayals that Ashe Heilmïch, the War Mother of one of the Frejord tribes, fell out with her battle sister and childhood friend Sejuani Belrug, resulting in one of the greatest rivalries within Runeterra, and the two largest tribes in the Freljord.
It was after a long journey that Ashe disowned Sejuani's tribe, taking some of her followers with her, and now after many years, Ashe finds herself sadly missing the friendship and silly conversations that used to take place when she was with Sejuani. That didn't mean she didn't see her as a friend, or someone with whom she had affection and care, even if they fought a bloody battle where one of them would pay with their life, Ashe didn't care, she still kept her as her longtime big sister.
One winter's afternoon there was some commotion in the village, the villagers noticed some of the sentries returning from the observation point on the border with Demacia, one of them was carrying a unconscious girl in his arms, as they approached the village the villagers noticed that she was a foreigner and because of her clothes, not at all adapted to the cold and made of cotton and linen. As soon as the sentries arrived at the gate, they told the guards to let them go to the War Mother's palace. A little reluctantly and with some questioning, the guards were told that the girl had been found by their men passed out in the middle of the mountains where they came from the border with Demacia, a kingdom that neighbors Freljord and maintains good trade relations with them. The guards allowed them to go to the palace and escorted them to the gates of the huge structure.
"Your Majesty, we found her unconscious and practically stiff with cold," said the big man, bursting through the great palace door with the girl on his lap. Seeing the scene unfold in front of her, Ashe rose from her great throne carved from large crystal and lined with bearskin.
"Hoswald, have you checked to see if she's having trouble breathing?" Ashe asked, proceeding to check the situation for herself. Using her fingers, she pressed her index and middle fingers to the newcomer's neck and her face showed surprise. The girl's skin was perfectly warm and she was breathing normally, but she was unconscious and her expression was one of suffering from the cold. Ashe removed the girl's hood, revealing a young woman with blonde hair and a good face. Ashe looked at her clothes and noticed a staff hanging from her back, for a brief moment concluding that this girl was in some way royalty from one of the neighboring kingdoms and was also a mage.
"Prepare a hot bath for her, and bring skins to cover her while she's still asleep!" The chief of the tribe ordered.
"Your Majesty..." Hoswald called out.
"Tell me," Ashe turned his gaze to the big man.
"Where are we going to put her, we can't put her in the infirmary rooms because they're full of the wounded from our last battle."/p
"Oh yes, we wouldn't put her there anyway" Ashe turned his gaze to the unconscious girl. "Put her in my room, I won't be using it today, I'll sleep in Tryndamere's because he's on an expedition and will be arriving soon." Ashe left the girl in Hoswald's care. The great man then went to his majesty's bedroom and there on the huge bed he laid the girl down and covered her with the bearskins. It was hours before the girl regained consciousness and felt well enough to open her eyes. A healer entered the room and went to check on the girl, she noticed her eyes open and confused.
"Look! I see you're awake, my dear sleeping beauty," joked the lady.
"O...hello" The girl tries to reply, but her voice fails her, probably because her vocal cords have been stuck and compressed for a long time. "Where am I?" she manages to ask with some brief effort, but in an almost inaudible tone.
"You're in Freljord, my dear!" The girl listens attentively to the lady and then asks how long she has been unconscious, the lady tells her about a day, then the girl checks the date of that day, informing her that she had arrived at the borders of Freljord on the day the end of winter festivities began and that she had walked and camped for 2 weeks in the mountains on the border with Demacia and that since then she remembers nothing more.
"Are you telling me that you came to the borders at the end of winter?" The lady asks in amazement
