Adjusted the summary to have less of the 'i thought of this when i was 15 type vibe'
And "changed" update schedule to be more tuned so you can expect it to be there, instead it not being on Monday. I'm still going to be posting late at night, so nothing is going to change there. It's just for clarification, i guess.
Anyways, enjoy and cy@ later! - lob
T-T
The instant the tent flap closed behind the goddess, Artemis sat on the closest thing she could find, a couch.
"Who knew that someone would find out?" Artemis sighed. "And it just so happened to be one of the girls too... How exhausting."
Percy hummed in agreement, sitting behind her like earlier when they were in front of Alexie.
"Percy, I love you. You know that?"
"Yeah. I do."
Ever since that happened, the only thing Artemis had done was show him affection.
Even though he didn't really know if this was right, he would be a fool not to reciprocate her feelings because he felt something towards her too.
He didn't know if it was love.
He didn't know how to love.
But, he just wanted her to be happy.
"Do you love me?" Artemis quietly asked.
"Is that even a question?"
Artemis already knew the answer to that question, so it was strange of her to ask him.
"I just want to hear you say it." Her voice was as soft as a whisper.
A strange sense of nervousness ran over him.
Even though this wouldn't be the first time he'd said those words, for some reason, it felt harder saying it this time than the last.
Maybe, it was because he was caught in the moment, saying those words before, and now he was saying it consciously.
Taking in a deep breath, Percy uttered the words, 'I love you,' with much difficulty.
His heart was like a set of drums with someone playing them as fast as they could at that moment.
Percy didn't want her to see his face, so he hugged her body, locking it in place. He also put his chin on top of her head for good measure.
He expected her to say something to follow up, but Artemis was awfully quiet.
Feeling as though something was wrong, he opened his mouth to say something, but she tightly grabbed onto his pants as if to say 'No, don't.'
"I feel tired," said the goddess, before closing her eyes and reclining on him with her eyes.
"Want to lay down?"
Her head nodded slightly.
"Alright."
Pressing her into his embrace, he guided her downwards into a cuddle, where she lay on her side, curled up in a 'C' like position.
Kissing her bed of hair, Percy asked, "Really tired?"
"Mhn."
"Ok, I understand."
Usually, he would be the one asleep by now, but today it seemed like Artemis would be going to bed first.
Using his water power, he expertly moved the blanket that was on the bed over to the couch, making sure that it was perfectly dry before draping it over them.
He didn't want to disturb Artemis by covering her with a wet blanket.
This would be the first time that he'd seen Artemis sleeping.
Percy could tell by the way her breathing slowed.
Artemis definitely fell asleep.
Unfortunately, as much as he wanted to, Percy was unable to look her sleeping face due to the angle he was at, but he was sure that it would've looked immaculate.
Guess he had to settle for something else.
Percy decided to gently stroking her hair.
The strands of her auburn hair were seamlessly soft as he ran his fingertips through them.
It seemed like Artemis enjoyed it as well. Percy could feel her body relax, and lean closer, than she already was, to him.
Alexie's appearance was certainly unexpected.
Not even a full day had passed before someone else besides Leto knew about them.
Thankfully, it didn't seem like Alexie would spill their little secret out to other people.
In a group full of man-haters, it wouldn't seem wise to reveal the fact that he was dating Artemis.
Percy still couldn't believe that he was dating someone like her.
Artemis was strong, beautiful, and thoughtful, not that she would ever admit it.
By looks alone, she was far out of his league.
But, it felt like he could only see her.
He wouldn't want any other woman besides this one.
And, she wouldn't want any other person besides him.
Percy was satisfied with that.
Though, he couldn't feel entirely happy despite being with his beloved.
There was an unnecessarily loud ringing in his ears.
His eyes turned upwards at the ceiling.
There was someone that was watching them.
Percy couldn't exactly see them, but he could clearly sense someone looking directly at him and Artemis.
And they did not seem very friendly.
Percy's face was neutral, displaying no emotion.
It didn't seem like they were going to do anything for the time being, so he pretended to not notice, closing his eyes.
He figured that this was something to be dealt with at a later date.
The sound of thunder roared outside.
For some reason, Percy didn't feel like that thunder was a coincidence.
T-T
Percy was the first to wake up.
His chest felt a little tight, making it slightly hard to breathe, feeling as though there was something bound to him.
Looking down, it was Artemis, tightly holding onto him as if she was afraid that he would leave if she let go.
It was a little painful too because Artemis wasn't a delicate flower. She was quite strong.
He was at a loss of what to do.
Maybe stroking her hair would do the trick.
Whatever she was dreaming of didn't seem to be very pleasant.
Hopefully, she feels better when she wakes up.
As if on cue, Artemis shifted slightly.
"Good morning, my love," Percy said affectionately, nuzzling her hair.
"Morning, darling," the goddess said energetically.
Sensing a strange response, she said, "Too much?"
Giving an affirming hum, Percy said, "A little bit. Also, you seem different today. What happened?"
It was not that long ago when she was frowning in her sleep, so he thought it was weird that she was acting like this. Also, her demeanor was a different than her usual self, but it still felt like her. So, he didn't really know what changed between now and then.
Her eyes flashed curiously, sizing him up.
"Cute."
She grabbed his chin with her thumb and index finger, making a closer inspection.
"Have I ever told you that your have beautiful eyes?" Artemis asked.
"No, you've never mentioned it," Percy responded despite being confused.
"Oh," she said plainly, "Well, you have nice eyes. They're pretty sexy if you ask me."
"Artemis, I think your eyes look a lot better than mine," Percy said casually.
The goddess's face grew a slight smile.
She moved closer to him, making their eyes meet at the same level.
Her lips puckered slightly as if she wanted to kiss, so he prepared himself.
But then, she exclaimed, "Ah! Wait, I just wanted to-" Before, she abruptly turned away and stopped talking.
"? Wanted to?"
Percy got a bit confused, if she wanted to kiss then he would gladly do it. Her actions were strange.
Reach towards her to question further, he began to ask, "Artemis, are you-"
But before he touched her, fierce aura emanated from her, silencing his words, quickly retracting when his hand moved away.
What was happening?
Percy waited for a little bit before saying anything because he might've done something wrong. He didn't know what he did wrong, but that was the only thing that explained her behavior right now.
Should he say something?
Percy didn't know what to say.
But after a while, he began to get worried because she wasn't saying anything. Sitting up, he asked, "Artemis? Did I do something wrong?"
Artemis quickly flipped back around, grabbed his face and kissed him on the lips.
"!?!!"
Her face had a cheeky smile on her face like she just won a game that they were playing, except for the fact that Percy was unaware of what was happening.
Artemis' expression alternated from cheeky to mildly annoyed to triumphant to her neutral face.
Her hands were still on his face.
Hesitantly, Percy asked, "Are you okay, now?"
She blinked a few times before her face moved closer. Their lips meeting ever so softly.
With that gesture, Percy knew that this was the normal Artemis.
Percy had a million questions, but it seemed like Artemis didn't want to talk about it right now. So, he put the thought aside for now.
His eyes blinked in short periods like he was counting down for something, then said, "I need to do some training. I'll be back."
Before he left, Percy asked, "Is there anything you want for breakfast?"
Artemis thought for a little while and said, "You," evoking a blushing smile from the male.
"Later then."
After he left, her face changed expressions again.
"Why did you come out." Artemis irritatedly said.
Speaking like she was talking to herself, she innocently asked, "What do you mean? I'm you."
"Diana," Artemis said in an annoyed tone, "you know what I mean."
"Why not? If he's your boyfriend, doesn't that mean he's also my boyfriend?"
Artemis quickly shot that idea down. "No, it doesn't. He's mine."
"What's yours is mine. And what mine is mine, because I'm you," Diana stated as if it was fact.
"When you fall in love with someone, I won't interfere, so don't touch Perseus. He is off limits."
"Artemis, it doesn't make sense."
"What about this doesn't make sense?"
"If I'm you, and you're making me suffer. Doesn't that mean you're hurting yourself?"
"How does that make any sense." Artemis' tone got increasingly more annoyed.
"Think about it. If you fall in love with someone that also means I fall in love with them too. So you breaking me apart of my lover is essentially you breaking yourself away from Percy."
"He's not your lover. And, you were asleep when I fell in love."
Diana retorted, "I wasn't asleep when you had sex."
"What?"
"You were moaning like crazy. Did you expect me not to wake up?"
"I-"
"I'll admit that it felt really good," Diana said dreamily, "I've never orgas-"
"Stop!" exclaimed Artemis. "I don't want to hear it!"
"Okay. Fine. But, Artemis."
"What."
"Are you really going to do this?"
"Do what."
"You know..."
"I don't."
"You already know I can't fall in love with anyone else."
Artemis didn't respond.
"You can feel it too. That I can't."
"..."
"Even if you don't like it, you cannot deny that we [Artemis and Diana] are in love together," Diana's tone was dead serious.
"Please at least explain it to him, that's all I ask." Her tone was half-pleading with her Greek counterpart.
The Greek goddess was silent in thought.
"I'll think about it."
