Maids and butlers

Nanny ~

The English teen dragged himself in the lazy morning. He was disoriented, clumsy, and giddy like an alcoholic. He yearned for a few minutes before he could get kick-started for the day. Maybe, kickstart was mercilessly removed from his dictionary. He'd spend dollars to crawl along the bed. His parents are millionaires, and his mansion is enough to waste his day. His Mother was upset over his laziness. She wouldn't buy him new clothes until he defeated Ralf in chess. Johnny's closet was stuffed with good garments, but they were convincing only for middle-class people. They were gospel for beggars. The condition of his clothes was not of a good standard for a spoilt brat like him.

Johnny barely talked with his parents, especially with his Dad. He barely felt an emotional connection with them. His butlers and maids took care of him. He hung out with his team when they met during the summer.

"Master Johnny, Aunt Elina is coming over," one of the maids entered his chamber.

"What?" Johnny's jaw dropped.

"Yes, and they'll be here in an hour."

"Shit," Johnny kicked the ground. Aunt Elina is feared, and Johnny would get jittery around her presence. She hated it when Johnny didn't bathe on time. She has a Severe Obsessive-cleanliness Disorder that is difficult for everyone to cope with. She always questioned his academic performance, habits, friends, and others. Sometimes, Johnny would book for a small tour to meet his friends to avoid his aunt. He slapped his forehead, muttered up his energy, and rushed to the bathroom. He's meeting her after five years. Johnny always harbored his hot-headed personality, but they diminished in front of his aunt.

Johnny managed to bathe and dress well in his suit. He made sure Aunt Elina wouldn't comment on his clothing. His father's side of the family is the biggest boomer. He remembered his grandmother wanted to marry him to a Billionaire's daughter in a few years, but Johnny couldn't care less. He was never interested in marital affairs.

"Master Johnny! She is waiting outside!"

Johnny rushed to the door after breaking a series of sweats. He gulped thick and opened the door. He appreciated himself for keeping the house clean and devoid of dust. 'Sheesh, I hate her makeup.' She was terrific and her makeup added to the petrifying disaster.

"Did you take a bath? You are sweating!" she entered the house, bringing her daughter inside. Johnny's little cousin Mia was the polar opposite of her mother. Elina questioned her daughter about making friends with middle-class students in her school.

"Johnny!" she squealed. Johnny smiled.

Mia was one of the few people he was extremely friendly with because she was his savior from his sorceress-like aunt.

Johnny washed his face to satisfy his OCD aunt. She looked around the Mansion.

"Hmm, the Mansion is surprisingly neat and clean. I never expected this," she appreciated him. The butlers prepared some wholesome meals for them.

She sipped the coffee and said, "I'll be out to discuss an important business deal with your father today. I won't come back until the evening. Till then, stay here and take care of Mia. And, your parents hired a Nanny since you'll spoil my daughter."

"Wait, aunt. Did I hear it right?" he asked.

"Are you dumb?" she spat.

Johnny cast a normal demeanor by controlling his incoming excitement. Yes. He can spend wholesome time with his cousin, but why a Nanny? He wanted to ask her, but she would always comment and argue with whatever he said.

He kept quiet till she left the mansion. He squealed from the bottom of his heart and rushed upstairs. He played a few games with Mia till the Nanny showed up. Johnny was dumbfounded to see her.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Johnny asked the blue-head.

"I'm the Nanny appointed to babysit your cousin. I'm Mariam," she bowed down.

"Wait, wait. I know you are that girl from the Saint Shields. How come you're here in my country, to babysit Mia? I mean, what brings you here?" he queried again.

"I'm here for a field visit. But, I need some money. I'm running out of them."

Despite Mariam's sarcastic nature, she promised Ozuma she would maintain her composure. She had no other choice. She hated herself in the avatar, but there was no other option. Why should she act very submissive? She would've pissed him off with her impending sarcasm. It's an easy job to irritate Johnny. If such a job existed, she would've been a millionaire, or even a billionaire by now.

"If you want money, I'll give. But, I'd suggest you may take your leave. I need some privacy with my cousin."

Mariam was triggered. She would never look so low upon herself. Was she there after his wealth? She immediately inched closer to him and grabbed his collars. "Do you think I'm here to make money without breaking a sweat? You need to control your tongue. And, I'll get my money after I do my job. I am not a gold digger. I will work, and then earn. Your parents do the same. In a few years, you'll do the same."

The butlers came for defense, but Johnny stopped them.

"Alright, Mia is upstairs. You may look after her," Johnny parted from her and seethed. Mariam smirked and took her bare belongings. Johnny glanced in her direction.

"Man, she is scary. Arguably, scarier than Aunt Elina. Dammit," he punched the wall.

Mariam introduced herself to Mia. They heard Johnny coming upstairs.

"Have some coffee," he gave the blue-head some coffee.

"I love Johnny! He is the coolest big brother!" Mia exclaimed. Mariam gently lifted and asked, "Is he?" she gave a sneaky side-eye to the red-head.

Johnny turned away and tied his arms over his chest.

"Maybe he is nice, after all," the sarcasm in her voice touched his nerve.

"Ahem, we need to give Mia some snacks," Johnny interrupted.

"What does she like?" the bluehead enquired.

"A few fruits and biscuits might do. She loves apples and cream biscuits."

Mariam headed to the kitchen to bring her snacks. The butlers assisted the girl in arranging them neatly. Mariam never had an idea of organizing them exotically. She came from a village sector, where they had less food. But, she loves food and doesn't mind spending her expenses on delicious cuisines. They were occasional and not regular, considering her busyness as a Saint Shield member.

It felt foreign to stay in a mansion. She had no vision of an expensive setup before in her life. Her life is a contrast to Johnny's. He is a Billionaire's son, has butlers to help him around, and lives lavishly, whereas she has none. She trains, does plenty of chores, and takes missions. Girls might be head over heels for him, considering his wealth. At least Mariam would be fortunate enough to be free of Gold Diggers.

"Must've been a pampered kid and a rich-spoilt brat. It's too much for me. Doesn't give me a homely feeling," Mariam sighed and entered the room. She was surprised to see the teen triumphed. She assumed he was a grumpy idiot, maybe not to his cousin. She placed the snacks on the table. Mariam was surprised to see every inch of the mansion. There were paintings, decor, and big chandeliers with air conditioners. She had a look at the glassware placed in the kitchen. The porcelain cups and dishes were placed neatly. She thought of sneaking into Johnny's closet, but it was wrong. She pledged not to poke her nose. Ozuma would be angry and he would develop paranoia.

A few minutes passed by. She felt like she wasn't needed there when Johnny was there to play with his cousin. She'd rather run errands in their house. She disliked being sedentary.

In a few minutes, Johnny fell fast asleep. Mariam and the butlers dragged him to his bed.

"Dammit! Am I here to babysit this cow or this girl?" Mariam spat. Mia looked with concern washed over her face.

"Well, I am bored now," Mia started sobbing. Mariam lifted her and patted the girl's back.

"Shush, baby. I'm here to play with you! Shall we?" Mariam winked at the girl.

Mia was befuddled, but she hesitantly agreed. Mia is distant from strangers, but she prefers company over boredom.

Mariam played hide and seek with her. It was spacious, yet the mansion had many things to hide behind. Mia enjoyed playing with her A few rounds of hiding and seeking passed until the redhead woke up.

"Mariam! Do you think that my mansion is a playground? Where are the butlers?" Johnny seethed.

"We didn't damage any property, cow," she mocked.

Johnny's ears turned red. He walked back to his room and slammed the door.

"Miss Mariam, you shouldn't talk to Master Johnny like that. You should've apologized," one of the butlers said.

"Master Johnny would rather give her toys or the mobile phone to play with."

Mariam intervened, "I am sorry, but Mia loved playing the game. She wouldn't play just by sitting all day."

The lunch hour was up. Mariam fed Mia the lunch. Much to Johnny's awe, he felt jealous after Mia and Mariam got along well. Regardless, a soft side of his found it ethereal. He slowly devoured the meal and admired the bluehead. It felt different to have a meal with a few companions. Otherwise, the meals were very formal and sophisticated around his parents. They would snap at him if he spills food on the table, or stains his clothes. He has to maintain his decorum and formality as a descendant of the Royal Household. But deep down, he hated it.

"Master Johnny?" a maid waved her hand before the daydreaming redhead. Johnny blinked.

"Ooh, what happened?"

"The food may turn cold. Eat up."

Johnny chuckled and continued devouring the meal. Mariam laughed and smiled.

'Nonetheless, he is cute,' she mused on it.

Mia took a small nap in Johnny's room after lunch. Mariam made her sleep and rubbed her head. Johnny looked at them from afar. Despite Mariam's sarcasm and annoyance, Johnny thought she was tough and headstrong. He left the room, giving them privacy.

"Master Johnny, she is a lovely Nanny. I'm glad Mia had a great time with her," one of his butlers said.

Johnny cast a tough demeanor and said, "Hmm, I feel the same. At least she didn't cause a commotion unlike the maid we had in the past," he walked off. The maids intended to tease him, but they kept their distance. They were amused to see him acting tough. A new, yet profound feeling arose within him. It was fresh, yet good. But, he is not sure what it could be. Did he have something for the Nanny? It's not possible. He continued the tough act till the time came.

Johnny's parents returned home with his aunt. Mariam packed her belongings and was ready to leave. Mia was upset, yet she tried to console her.

"I will return one day, little Mia," she rubbed the girl's head.

"Then, I'll be waiting for you," the girl kisses Mariam's cheek. She hugged her before waving her bye.

"Well then, where is your big brother? Is he sleeping again?"

"He is upstairs, most of the time."

Mariam sighed and mused. She expected that. Yet she wished he'd seen her for one last time before she left.

"Alright, Mia. Alright, Mr. and Mrs. McGregor, I will take my leave."

"You are such a sweet girl! I hope Johnny didn't trouble you," his mother remarked.

'Well, he kinda did,' Mariam thought.

"I had no issues, Ma'am. Your son was cooperative."

Mariam turned back to walk. She saw the redhead waiting for her outside. She smirked, "What brings you here, cow?"

"Well, I am sorry for my behavior earlier. I was rude. You gave some physical activity for Mia, and I appreciate it" his cheeks turned red as he scratched his head.

"I couldn't care less," she proceeded to walk.

She touched his nerve again, but he didn't reflect it.

"You are so annoying, and I love it," he smirked.

She stopped and turned back to wink, "Maybe, I'll come back to annoy you again."
