Queen of the Vampires Challenge.
My biggest gripe with the Vampire Diaries Universe is that there seems to be no mention nor sign that the most famous Vampire in History, Count Dracula, exists. Not even an implication that the one of more of the Mikaelson Family inspired the story.
Hell, even in the fandom there doesn't seem to be any stories about Dracula that I can find.
Therefore, I have posted this challenge to inspire such ideas.
I have 2 ideas for this challenge but if you have thoughts of your own, then by all means...
Idea 1: Dracula was born before Amara and is therefore the Original Petrova
My idea for this version is that 'Elena' was born in the 5th century BC (500BC to 400BC) and was afflicted by a terrible plague. Her husband used Dark Magic to save her and inadvertently turned her into the First Vampire
Idea 2: She was the twin of Tatia Petrova and became the Original Heretic since she was married to one of the Mikaelsons.
'Elena' is the twin of Tatia and fell in love with one of the Mikaelson brothers and married him before they became Vampires. As Elena was a witch she was not considered the Doppelganger at the time. However she kept her magic and became the Original Heretic.
Either way, she becomes known as Dracula and has some of relationship with the Mikaelsons - perhaps even providing the elixir that Elijah wished to use for Katerina.
At some point, the Bennett Witches conspire (perhaps with Mikael, Esther or both) to bring an end to the being they consider to be more of an abomination than all vampires combined and imprison Dracula in the form of a still-born Elena Gilbert - using Dark Magic, for the Greater Good.
How is Dracula eventually freed from her imprisonment?
Option 1: After the Sacrifice, Elena survives but as result her survival Dracula is free. Maybe because Bonnie used her family magic to switch John Gilbert's life for Elena's, or because of the Elixir from Elijah contained Dracula's own Blood and Magic or because of Damon's blood being in her system. Or perhaps a combination?
Option 2: When Damon uses the Sire Bond to switch of Elena's humanity it frees Dracula?
Or something else?
Your choice.
I hope you find this challenge inspiring or something. I'd wright it myself but I have a big story in the works and I want to focus on that. Plus I think others can do better jobs than I can.
I look forward to seeing what you guys can come up with if you are interested.
