Bobby Meets His Match – Chapter 37

This chapter has less action, but Bobby and Cathy finally get to spend some time together. Please leave feedback, as I live for it.

The soft sounds of the waves and the gentle call of the seabirds snapped Bobby from yet another nightmare. He gasped and cracked his eyes open into slits, surveying his surroundings to be sure he wasn't really in the midst of infiltrating on a mission as he was in his dream. It took a moment for him to register the soft early morning light filtering through the drapes and the gentle rustle of the cool breeze and the sound of the surf breaking just a short distance from their door. Recognition of his surroundings finally dawned on Bobby- he was at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, with Cathy. He wiped his hands over his eyes, wiping away the last vestiges of the dream and tried to relax his bunched muscles. Fuck! The dream had been horrible, another memory he did NOT want to relive, but at least this time he hadn't attacked Cathy, so at least that that was some progress.

He tried to loosen his tight muscles without disturbing the gorgeous redhead sleeping in the crook of his left arm. They had both been so exhausted when they arrived here last night- Cathy from the pregnancy and him from the fatigue of his training class, then the emotional therapy session, then work and then driving here to AC. By the time they had gotten here, he was so exhausted he could barely even stand. They had gotten here last evening, eaten quickly at the restaurant, showered quickly, and fallen into bed- and directly to sleep. His phone was sitting on the nightstand next to his gun, and he grabbed it- 6:30am, way too early to wake Cathy.

The curtains rustled with the slight breeze blowing in through the cracked open slider. Bobby had almost had a fit when Cathy had insisted they leave the door open a crack to hear the sound of the waves. Might as well just invite anyone into their room. But Bobby couldn't deny her something so small, even though sleeping with a door open went against every fiber in his being. But they were on the second floor, with nothing on the other side of the slider but beach and ocean. He had slept with his gun on the dresser, assuming he would hear anyone climbing the balcony railing before they got into the room. Cathy hadn't said a word about the gun, even though Bobby knew she hated them. She trusted him to protect her. It occurred to him that once the baby came, he was going to have to make sure his weapons were locked away and secured, so he needed to figure that out.

Now he was glad they had left the door ajar because the breeze cooled the sweat on his brow leftover from the nightmare, and the sound of the ocean always calmed him. He closed his eyes, gathered Cathy closer to him, and listened to the rhythmic sound of the waves, his tight muscles slowly unclenching. He felt much less tired but he was still so restless, with nervous energy leftover from the therapy session and yet another fucking flashback dream. He had to get rid of this tightness and energy throbbing through him. His muscles were tense and he needed to move! He wanted to enjoy being in AC for the weekend with Cathy, enjoy her joy, and of course their first time going to the doctor together for their baby.

The ocean called to him, as it always had. He was a former SEAL, and SEALS loved the ocean. For Bobby , it was like a second home. The ocean often shielded soldiers and allowed them to approach the enemy without being seen. To Bobby, the ocean wasn't scary or menacing. He had mastered the ocean, it was his to command. He to commune with the ocean, needed a good, long swim to work off some of this emotion and useless tension throbbing through him so that he could enjoy the weekend with Cathy and the baby. Cathy barely even stirred when he gently disengaged his arm from around her, eased off the bed, and pulled the blankets over her to ward off the cool breeze. He kissed her gently on the forehead, grabbed his swim trunks, and quietly slipped out of the room.

The particularly loud call of a seabird woke Cathy, and she stretched languidly in her cocoon of blankets. The soft, cool breeze touched her face and she smiled, remembering that she and Bobby were in the hotel in Atlantic City for their doctor appointment. She rolled over and found Bobby's side of the bed empty, but the pillow was still warm and still smelled like him. As she was pushing herself up to use the bathroom yet again, a note propped up on the nightstand caught her eye.

" Good morning Baby. The ocean was calling me, so I went out for a swim. I didn't want to wake you because it was so early and you and our little one need rest. I'll be back soon. I ordered room service breakfast for 9:00. Can't wait to enjoy it with you. Love you, Bobby."

Cathy smiled and shook her head. Of course Bobby would want to swim in the cold ocean. He had probably done that all the time in the military. She went to pee yet again. She was only about 2 months into the pregnancy, and she was already constantly peeing. She and Bobby hadn't even n been on the road for an hour last night when she asked him to stop for a bathroom break. He had just smiled and shaken his head and pulled into a truck stop off the highway.

Cathy walked along the beach, her toes sinking into the sand, Bobby's jacket wrapped around her against the cool breeze. Sipping the water he had brought for her. He always took such good care of her, and their baby. It occurred to her that she hadn't been quite so good at taking care of him. They had bene through so much together in such a short time, and he had worked so hard to please her, even going to therapy for her. She needed to put aside her doubts and fears and trust him to be the good man she knew he was.

Motion in the ocean caught her attention and she saw Bobby cutting quickly through the waves, swimming as if the waves and the current weren't even there. He had to have been swimming for almost an hour now and he showed no signs of slowing down. She couldn't help but be impressed. He cut through the powerful ocean as if he owned it, while she could barely swim. Even before she nearly drowned, she had not been completely comfortable in the ocean, and since then, well lets say Bobby wasn't the only one with an issue to get over.

She walked out into the water just far enough to get her feet wet and shivered. The water was COLD, and she hated being COLD. Bobby saw her just as he was making another turn, and he altered his course to swim to her. Cathy sighed as she watched her own muscular Aquaman emerge from the ocean, water dripping from his bronze skin and his beard. "Hey baby," he said as he grabbed her and kissed her. She kissed him then squealed and jumped back; he was soaking her with the cold water. "Care to join me for a swim?" Cathy shook her head. No, it's cold and I, well, I don't swim well. And, since my accident I… Bobby, just lifted her chin and looked into her eyes, as he threw the jacket onto the sand and drew her against him, pulling her into the water.

He wrapped her arms and legs around him, and waded into the water, his eyes never leaving hers. "Just hang onto me, baby. I've got you. You know I'd never let anything happen to you." And she did know it. She trusted him completely and rubbed her face against his beard, her head on his shoulder. "SEALS were born in the water. Poseidon answers to me," he laughed.

He held her to him as he treaded water so smoothly, she didn't even feel it. She put her head on his shoulder as he kissed her neck, rocking in the gentle waves. They kissed gently and tenderly, her body shivering not from the cold water, but from the feel of his beard against her neck, her breasts. He held her tightly to him with one arm while his mouth locked on her breast and his other arm slipped between them to… oh God was he going to, here...?

Her fingers stroked his face and through his hair as his worked their magic on her clit, his mouth devouring hers. "See baby, as long as I am with you, you have no fear of the ocean. Only pleasure, he whispered. His fingers brought her to orgasm, and he captured her scream in his mouth, and for a moment all she could do was cling to him as the pleasure took over her body. She couldn't swim, she couldn't think, all she could do was cling to him until the powerful sensations faded and she could think and speak again. Bobby kissed her and then lifted her slightly so he could kiss the tiny mound of her stomach. " I know, Bobby. I trust you. I will always trust you, "she whispered to him, capturing his head in her hands and looking into his fathomless brown eyes. " I will always trust you Bobby. I will never be afraid of you. "

She shivered as Bobby waded with her to shore, and the cool air hit her wet body. "How could I ever have been scared of this man," she thought as he quickly stripped her of her wet clothes, dried her carefully with his towel, and bundled her tightly back into the jacket, making her as warm as he could, then he wrapped the towel around his now naked torso, and wrapped them both together as they headed back to the hotel.

" I bet you will have this baby in the water as soon as its born. If it's a boy, maybe we should name it Gilligan, Gilligan Brown, you know, from Gilligan's Island, she teased." Bobby looked at her horrified. "Hell no. Gilligan and Skipper were crappy sailors; they should never have gotten lost…" Bobby continued all the way back to the hotel.

Thirty minutes later, they had showered, and Bobby felt as relaxed as he could be after the incredible orgasm Cathy had given him in the shower. The feel of her mouth on his cock had given him the most powerful orgasm he could ever remember having, and finally the excessive tension of the last few months had eased a bit. Bobby wouldn't say he was relaxed, he almost never completely relaxed, but he was the most at ease he had bene in months.

Their breakfast had been delivered right on time and they sat in bed in the hotel bathrobes devouring French Toast, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and fruit. For the first time in a long time, Cathy seemed able to eat, and Bobby hoped her nausea was starting to calm down.

Cathy held Bobby's hand as they got off the elevator and into the office of Dr. Abigail Dickson, said to be the finest OBGYN in New Jersey. " I still can't believe you got an appointment with her so soon. She must be booked for months." Bobby smiled, "Well, Rangeman installed security in her Trenton office, and did a security job for her, so she likes us." Cathy filled out the paperwork and waited nervously next to Bobby for their turn. She tried not to show her nervousness but hiding it from Bobby was hard. He noticed everything! He kissed her hand. "Don't be nervous, everything will be fine." God, he was always such a pillar of calm, she took a deep breath and let his calm sink into her.

"Cathy Jurgens?" the nurse called. She stood and kept her grip on Bobby's hand as they went into the exam room. "Is this your husband?" the nurse asked. "Um, no, he's Bobby Brown, the baby's father." The nurse looked at her. "Are you comfortable with him here or would you like him to wait outside." Cathy smiled. "No, I want him here with me, "she said as she started to pull off her top and put on the gown.

Bobby stroked her hand while they waited, calmly standing by her. Cathy didn't know why she was so nervous, except that this was all so sudden, and she knew nothing about being pregnant or having a baby, or God, being a parent. I mean, she could barely care for her cat, how could she rasie a child? She looked at Bobby and he must have read her mind, because he kissed her and said, "You are going to be a great mom. And I will be a great dad. And this will be a lucky kid." Bobby was nervous as all shit himself, but he wasn't going to let her see that. She needed him calm and confident.

Dr. Dickson came in and introduced herself and went over Cathys medical history then did the exam. "Well, it seems you are about 8 weeks along so its too early to tell the sex yet, but we can listen to the baby's heartbeat and take the ultrasound."

Cathy gasped as the cold gel was put on her belly and then suddenly a black and white image came up on the screen. The doctor pointed out the baby, and the parts that had developed so far, but to Cathy her baby just looked like a black and white blob. Bobby could obviously see what the Doctor did, because he was asking questions and pointing excitedly. Dr Dickson smiled, Ah, Mr. Brown, you must have medical training. And since you came from Rangeman I would guess a military medic? "Bobby smiled. "Yes, ma'am,I was a SEAL and a medic, and we had to do OBGYN rotations, so I am familiar with a bit of this." Cathy smiled, noticing Dr. Dickson's pleasure with Bobby's training. Of course, Bobby was like Superman. He was a healer first and a killer only when he had to be.

Suddenly the room was filled with a rapid pulsating sound and Bobby smiled and squeezed her hand. "Well, there is a good, normal heartbeat. Don't worry, its supposed to be fast like that." Dr Dickson said. Well, so far you are doing great. Any nausea? Cathy laughed, "only constant vomiting" she said. "We've been using ginger ale to help with that," Bobby said.

"Ok, I will prescribe some prenatal vitamins, and also, I want you to do mild exercise. Walking, swimming, yoga, etc. You have a family history of high blood pressure, so we will keep an eye on that but otherwise, " you seem healthy. Cathy laughed and looked at Bobby, "Bobby takes good care of me."

Dr. Dickson looked at Bobby and said, "yes, I'll bet he does." Bobby asked a bunch of questions about monitoring and what she should eat or avoid, fully in medic mode now.

"Well, I want to see you once a month and you can come to my Trenton office for your next appointments if you like. But you are about 8 weeks along, and so far, you and the baby are healthy. I am sure with Bobby to take care of you, you will both do well. At the next appointment, we should be able to tell the sex of the baby. Do you want to know?"

"Yes" Bobby said, at the same time Cathy said, "no. I want to be surprised." Dr. Dickson laughed. No problem. I will tell Bobby then. "Are you sure you will be able to keep from telling her." Cathy laughed. Oh yes, he was in Special Forces, he is able to keep secrets."

They made an appointment for a month at the Trenton office, and left, Cathy holding the ultrasound picture of their little one.
