AN: I was introduced to this beautiful ship by a friend and fell in love instantly. I came in at their wedding and hated how it ended. I decided to take it and write how I felt it should go. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Despite the knot of anxiety in the pit of Portia's stomach, the day had turned out beautifully. She had married the love of her life. Whatever adversities came their way they would weather them together.
Portia looked out at the dance floor where her new husband and her daughter were having a dance-off. She loved the relationship that the two of them had. Portia could never be with anyone who didn't mesh with her daughter. However, that wasn't a concern in this case. Both of the loves of her life loved one another.
"Portia?" Curtis called softly as he took his wife's hands into his.
Portia looked up into the eyes of the man that she had loved for more years than she dared admit. She put on her brightest smile and replied, "Yes?"
Curtis smiled back at her and asked, "Where'd you go, Beautiful?"
Portia glanced over his shoulder at her daughter. She was taking selfies with her best friend, Josslyn. To Curtis, she said, "I was just thinking about you and Trina. How grateful I am for the love that you have for my daughter and the love that she has for you."
Curtis pulled his wife into his arms and nuzzled his nose in her neck. He would never get tired of the scent of her perfume and the smell of hair. Everything about this woman was beautiful. Even how she smelled. He said, "Well, Trina is amazing and I can't help but love her. Plus, she's your daughter. I would love anyone or anything that came from you."
Portia felt her heart skip a beat. She and Curtis were together in a past life and it had ended poorly. They went their separate ways and it was about a lifetime later that they reconnected. Even after all of these years Portia still felt butterflies in her stomach at the mere thought of Curtis. She joked, "You don't have to pay me such luxurious compliments, I already said I will."
Curtis threw back his head and laughed. He did that a lot with Portia. He whispered in her ear, "What do you say to us getting out of here? We have an early flight and I want you to get your rest. It's been a long day."
Portia leaned back in his embrace with a smirk on her lips. She asked, "You want me to get some rest, or you want something else?"
Curtis bit his lip mischievously and said, "Well, of course, I'm going to do my part to make sure my bride can fall asleep soundly."
Portia smiled at him just as mischievously. She asked, "You promise?"
Moaning Curtis released her, grabbing her hand. He said, "Let's go."
Portia let out a loud, shrieking giggle.
Once they got outside their suite Portia turned to her husband and ran her hand over his body in search of the key. Curtis grabbed her hand with his left and held up the key with his right. He asked, "Looking for this?"
Portia smiled. She asked, "Yes, but what are you waiting for?"
Without saying a word and catching Portia completely off guard, Curtis swept Portia into his arms. Portia smiled up at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She said, "Honey, what are you doing?"
Curtis leaned down, capturing her lips between his own. Portia's hand slid from the back of his neck to the side of his face. She would never get tired of kissing Curtis. When Curtis broke the kiss he proceeded to unlock the door and walked over the threshold of their honeymoon suite.
Once they were in the room, Curtis placed his bride on her feet and turned to lock the door. Portia moved away from the door towards the bathroom. Curtis turned and asked, "Where do you think you're going?"
Smiling cheekily Portia said, "Curtis, we have the rest of our lives for what's about to happen. Just give me a few minutes to freshen up. We only get one first time as husband and wife."
Groaning Curtis said, "Fine, but if you take too long I'm coming in after you!"
Once Portia was tucked in the bathroom Curtis proceeded to take off his clothes. Once he was in his briefs he proceeded to light candles and dim the lights. It was starting to remind him of his and Portia's first night together after their long separation.
It took him off guard. He couldn't believe that he was here, married to Dr. Portia Robinson. He was so excited to start their life together. This life he never imagined that they'd have.
Curtis pulled back the rose petal-covered duvet and got into bed. As soon as he got comfortable he heard the bathroom door open. He looked to his right and saw his extremely beautiful wife exit the bathroom, a vision in a white flutter leg lace teddy. He bit his lips. The contrast of the white lace against her olive-colored skin. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her as his wife.
Curtis cleared his throat. He said, "Babe, you look beautiful. You took my breath away when I saw you earlier in your dress, but now… Wow."
Without warning Curtis got out of bed and made it across the room to his bride in very few steps. He lifted her in his arms leaning down to softly kiss her lips. He kissed her deeply and tried to pull back, but he couldn't get enough of her. He followed the deep kiss with a few pecks.
He moaned into her mouth, "Baby, I love you so much. I meant every word I said today. I will love you with all of my heart. I will give all I have and all that I am to make our lives and the lives of those that we treasure better."
Portia fluttered her fingers over the face of the man she loved so much. She said, "Curtis, I'm going to need you to prove it."
Needing no further prompting Curtis turned towards the bed gently laying his wife down. He fell between her parted thighs. Curtis placed a wet kiss between her breasts and then left a trail of kisses from her heart up to her collarbone. When he reached her collarbone he softly bit her causing her to moan.
Curtis felt her hands everywhere. On his back, his neck, and cradling his head encouraging the worship of her body.
He had no problem giving her everything that she wanted. Curtis began kissing down Portia's chest, down her stomach, and kissing her pelvic bone. It was at that moment that he realized that his wife wasn't wearing any undergarments.
His mouth watered and he knew that he couldn't hold back any longer. With his large hands, Curtis spread her thighs further apart and reverently kissed her nether lips. Portis squirmed in eager anticipation.
Curtis didn't make her wait long. He licked her slit and before she could let out her full moan he was sucking on her bundle of nerves sending a shockwave through his wife's body. He loved everything about this woman. Including how she responded to him.
Curtis continued his assault, enjoying the feel of her hands on the back of his head, pressing him closer to her center.
When he felt her legs begin to shake, he increased his suction and used two fingers to fill her. Portia cried out, "Baby!"
He would never tire of this, never. He kissed the inside of each thigh before reaching up to untie the bow between her heavy breasts.
They sprang free and Curtis could feel himself harden even more. In one smooth motion, Curtis removed the lingerie from Portia's body. He appreciated her attempts to present a beautiful package to him, but he loved her without any adornments. He was just as smitten with her when she was barefaced, with her full kiss swollen lips, her freckles sprinkling her nose and that natural flush and glow she always so effortlessly gave off. He adored her in all of her forms, but especially in the raw and natural, just like she was now.
He ran his eyes over her lightly toasted brown skin. He bit his lip as his eyes met her brown pools. Curtis made a silent vow to love her forever, and to always make sure she knew how he felt.
Portia squirmed beneath his intense gaze. She reached for and caressed his hardness through his boxer briefs as she said, "You have too many clothes on, Mr. Ashford."
Needing no further prompting, Curtis made quick work of disregarding his underwear. He crawled back between Portia's thighs and she immediately wrapped her legs around him pulling him closer as she ground her wet kitty against his still-hardening appendage.
The feel of her hot wetness against him only aroused him more. He wanted their first time as husband and wife to be languid and gentle, but that didn't seem to be what Portia wanted. When it came to Curtis, what Portia wanted, Portia got.
Curtis captured her lips in a searing kiss that was sure to leave them even more swollen than they already were. He used his fingers to bring her over the edge again. With each stroke of his fingers inside of her, he throbbed with anticipation of being inside her.
As Portia's body shook and she cried out, "Babe," Curtis replaced his fingers with his hardness. He could feel Portia greedily suctioning him in and he had to force himself to focus.
Curtis knew how Portia liked it. She didn't want to be handled like a delicate flower. She wanted strong, passionate strokes. She wanted to feel connected to him. Curtis knew that even though this coming together was a bit deep at times and a little rough at others, this was about the pleasure of being connected for the both of them.
So Curtis continued their dance. Pushing when she pulled and matching her force. When he felt his peak nearing, he broke their bruising kiss and panted, "Look at me, baby."
Portia lifted her heavy lidded eyes towards him. He could see the tears shimmering in her brown orbs. His heart skipped a beat as they continued to match one another's rhythm. Not stopping their push and pull Curtis gritted out, "I. Love. You. Portia."
She could feel herself tumbling. Her nails were biting everywhere, the back of his head, his back and his ass. They reached their peak together. Loudly calling out for the other. Curtis held on to her tight. He silently hoped that they had just conceived a child out of their love and passion for one another.
Two weeks later, after days of exploring both Italy and one another, Curtis rolled over pulling Portia's resting body against his. Partially trapping her naked body between his and the mattress. He rained kisses down her neck and shoulder. He whispered, "We have to get up, baby. Our flight leaves in about six hours."
Portia moaned lazily saying, "Mmm, I don't want to. Let's just stay here."
Chuckling Curtis asked, "What about Trina? Don't you want to get back and see what she and Spencer are up to?"
Portia shifted beneath Curtis in an attempt to get up and he released a loud chuckle. He knew exactly what to say to light a fire under her. He didn't let her up though. He held her tighter and placed a sucking kiss on her collarbone.
He said, "I had no idea when you turned towards me at the Floating Rib that somber day, that my world would be turned upside down in the best of ways. Falling for you again was inevitable. You once told me that every decision we made in life led us back to one another and I truly believe that. Now that we are here and you're my wife, I feel as if this was all destiny."
Portia pulled her husband's face closer to hers. She peered into his eyes and said, "I can hardly remember a time when I didn't love you, and I am so immensely happy to be your wife."
Curtis pressed his mouth to Portia's. He kissed her deeply and slowly, enjoying the taste of her. The taste that he would never tire of. They shifted together and Curtis fit himself between the thighs of the woman that he loved more than anything.
Curtis rolled onto his back bringing Portia on top of him. Portia straddled his legs and looked down at the man of her dreams. Curtis looked up into the brown eyes he loved so much. He saw everything there. He saw his future. So bright and so full in her eyes. He knows that with Portia by his side, there is nothing that they couldn't face and get through.
Portia leaned down towards his face as her curls tumbled around every which way. Curtis loved every physical feature of his wife. From the freckles that sprinkled her cheeks and nose, to the long curls that cascaded down her back. He captured her lips hungrily. He ran his hand up her thighs and had to grab Portia's wrist when he felt her take him in her hand. He wanted to make sure to take it slowly. This was going to be the last time they made love on their honeymoon, and he wanted to have every moment etched into his mind for years to come.
"Babe, slow down," Curtis panted hotly between kisses.
Portia smiled and softly pressed her lips to his.
An hour later Portia stared out the window of their Italian hotel room at the Resort Lake Garda. She was transported back in time.
Portia said, "If we hadn't of had that past relationship, we might not have reconnected. You might not have been here to save Trina when she needed you. I certainly wouldn't have; I would not have encouraged you to start a new life at the Savoy."
Curtis replied, "And and to that point umm, thank you because you pushed me in that direction to open a new club and start a new life. It meant everything to me. You mean everything to me."
"I feel the same way about you," Portia replied sincerely.
Back in the present, Portia smiled at the memory. That morning had been so special to her and here she was now. Married to the love of her life. The man that came into her life during one of her darkest moments. The man she had lost, but it was fated for them to be together. It was meant for him to be her husband and she his wife.
She felt him before he touched her. That was the thing about her husband. She was hyper-aware of him whenever he entered a room. If she had to label it, she would say that she and Curtis were magnetic. They had always been. From the first time that they met.
Portia had been married at the time, but her marriage was in turmoil. She had an absent husband that had her seeking out any ounce of attention she could find. She just wanted to feel wanted and desired. She wanted to be prioritized. She and Marcus were so disconnected, that she was having a hard time feeling like herself.
She didn't exactly set out to have an affair, but something inside of her awakened upon meeting Curtis. He was easy to talk to and they just enjoyed the time they spent together. That was all on top of the magnetism that they shared.
Now he was her husband. It was hard to believe that about 20 years later they were married and planning the expansion of their family. She couldn't believe that life had led her back to her soulmate.
"Penny for your thoughts," Curtis whispered the question into her ear.
He inhaled the scent wafting from her curls. Everything about Portia felt like home. Her soft scented curls, her giggle, her intelligence, her openness. He just loved her, and he was grateful that she was who he was going to go through life with.
Portia answered, "I was just thinking about how grateful I am that life led us back to one another. That you're my husband. I'm excited for our future."
Curtis kissed Portia on her neck, loving the soft feel of her skin there. He said, "When two people are destined to be together, they always find their way back. I like to think that we got ahead of ourselves. We needed time to grow so that we could be the best partners to one another."
Portia turned in his arms. She looked up into the eyes that were so filled with his love for her. She closed her eyes to calm her rapidly beating heart. Yes, Curtis still caused her pulse to race. To her husband, she asked, "Do we have to go home?"
She wasn't yet ready to go back to the real world. She wasn't ready to emerge from their bubble of love and lust. Portia loved the life that they led back in Port Charles, NY; however, she was partially worried that her husband's ex-wife would make good on her threats to tell Curtis information she thought she knew about Portia and her daughter.
For months since Portia and Curtis had gotten engaged, Jordan had been harassing Portia. She thought that she knew of a secret that Portia was keeping from Curtis. She maintained that she was only urging her to tell Curtis because she didn't want it to ruin their relationship later on.
However, Portia didn't need her medical license to know that Jordan was only pressing Portia because she wanted Curtis back. She was under some assumption that if he felt Portia had betrayed him then that would drive him back to her.
Portia knew things differently. The secret wasn't even known to her. She wasn't sure. She never wanted to look under the rock. If she was being honest with herself, she had no reason to look until the last couple of years, but doing so wouldn't have been prudent at the time. This was something that she was willing to die with. If it meant protecting the person she loved most in the world, her daughter. She also knew the reasons that Curtis had ended his marriage with Jordan, it was far deeper than she couldn't be trusted. Fundamentally Jordan and Curtis viewed and valued life differently. People don't change that drastically, and one of them would have had to deny their desires. Someone would've been unhappy and resentful.
It felt like Jordan was under some misconception that Portia had taken Curtis from her when that was furthest from the truth. Portia had supported their union. She was content with simply being friends with Curtis. She wanted to be friends with both of them. When things started to spiral between Curtis and Jordan, she encouraged them both not to give up. She had encouraged them both not to let outside forces ruin what they had. In the end, Curtis had decided their issues were insurmountable. He came to that conclusion with no help from Portia.
Portia and Curtis weren't rekindled until months later. In her defense, she had gotten quite friendly with Jordan and didn't want to cause issues. She tried to resist, but that's the thing about fate, you can resist, but sometimes fate will win in the end.
Portia turned to Curtis. She blinked and gave him her best smile. She said, "I'm just being silly. I've enjoyed having uninterrupted time with you."
Curtis smiled down into her beautiful brown eyes. He responded, "You're not tired of me yet?"
"Never! It could be a lifetime and that still wouldn't be enough time, but such is life," Portia responded brightly.
By the time they reached Port Charles, NY, both Portia and Curtis wanted nothing more than a hot shower and their bed. As Curtis opened their front door Portia said, "Let's just leave all of this down here for tonight. We can deal with it in the morning."
Curtis stood back from the door so that his wife could enter. He pulled in their luggage behind her. As Portia crossed the threshold she was startled to see her daughter sitting on the sofa. She said, "Trina, baby, why are you sitting in the dark?"
Curtis closed and locked the door behind them. He hit the lights and Trina stood from the sofa simultaneously. It was at that moment that Portia could see that her daughter was upset. Portia said, "Trina, what's wrong? Where's Marshall?"
"He had a gig in Brooklyn. He'll be back tomorrow. I need to talk to you." Trina said in a lethal, but low tone. A tone that Portia was surprised to see was directed towards her.
She looked at Curtis and said, "Babe, I'm going to speak with Trina. I'll be up in a minute."
Curtis hesitated for a moment then said, "Ok, take your time."
When Curtis disappeared up the stairs, Portia took a seat on the sofa and patted the cushion next to her. She asked, "Baby, what's the matter?"
Trina twirled around and with that same lethal low tone answered, "I went to visit Stella the day after your wedding. I thought it was odd that she would miss your wedding. So, I went to see her. I just wanted to make sure she was ok. Guess, what? Stella wasn't sick."
Trina stared at her mother watching for a reaction. Because Portia didn't react, she realized her mother must have known that Stella wasn't sick. She said, "So, you knew that?"
Portia cleared her throat and said, "I suspected as much."
Trina sat next to Portia on the sofa. She said, "I didn't understand why she wasn't at the wedding when she was previously so excited."
Trina turned towards Portia, "Stella said the secrets and lies need to come to an end that I needed to ask you. So I'm asking you, Mom. What secret is Stella talking about?"
The first tear rolled down Portia's cheek and the rest came steadily after. Portia blew a puff of air past her lips. She said, "Weeks after Curtis left me, I found out that I was pregnant..."
Trina recoiled. Her mother couldn't be saying what she thought she was saying. Breathlessly Trina asked, "Are you saying that Curtis is my father?"
Portia's heart beat rapidly in her chest. But she almost passed out when she heard Curtis from behind, "Portia, am I?"
