doing now, Daisy?; Mort asked with concern. He's much better now that he's home, Mort; Daisy replied. Thank you for asking; she added. You're welcome, Daisy; Mort replied. Where are my manners, who is this
pretty young lady with you, Daisy?; Mort asked with a friendly smile. Mort, this is Naomi McGary; Daisy replied. She's the niece of Jess's friend Marshal Branch McGary, better known as Mac; Daisy said.

the way back to the ranch. Well, look at that, Daisy; Naomi said smiling; we're almost home. I can see the Sherman Relay Station sign from here; she added. And here we are; Daisy said when they pulled
into the ranch yard. And here comes Slim, too; she added. Hi, Daisy, did you get everything we needed?; Slim asked as he helped her down. Oh, yes, Slim, we did; Daisy replied. Did you find the clothes
you'll be needing, Naomi?; Slim asked, helping her down. Oh, yes, thank you, Slim; Naomi replied. Have you checked on Jess lately, Slim?; Naomi asked as she gathered up her packages.
Yeah, I checked on him just a few minutes ago, Naomi; Slim replied. He was still asleep; Slim added. I'll go and check on him as soon as I put these things away, Slim; Naomi said as she headed for the
house. Good idea, Naomi; he replied. Will you help Mike and I carry these supplies in, Slim?; Daisy asked. Sure, Daisy; Slim said helpfully. There, that's the last of them; Daisy said awhile later when all of
the supplies were put away. I'll call you two when lunch is ready; Daisy said as she put on her apron. Alright, Daisy; Slim replied. Come on, Mike, you can help me put the team away; Slim said
as they headed out the door. Can I help you with anything, Daisy?; Naomi said as she came into the kitchen. Yes, you can set the table while I do this, Naomi; Daisy said from her place at the kitchen counter.
There, it's all done; Naomi said as she laid the last plate on the kitchen table. If you don't need me for anything, Daisy, I think I'll go and sit with Jess until he wakes up; Naomi said thoughtfully.
