The duo of Mario and Peach looked over the horizon, the sunset bleaching orange across the entire city.

"You know... Peach..." Mario awkwardly chuckled. "How come you-a rejected me on the moon-a last time?"

"..." Peach glanced to the side.

"Oh... I'm-a sorry if you don't wanna talk about-a it..."

"I was stressed. Shoving flowers in my face and an exploding moon we were standing on..."

"Aaah. I see." Mario nodded. "Thank-a you for coming back to me regardless."

"You're welcome, Mario. By the way, is anyone else here? I know you're here, but I haven't found Luigi or Yoshi yet. Or even Bowser Junior or Kamek... or Bowser."

"They're there! Except for Yoshi..." Mario pointed.

Peach looked down to the edge of the skyscraper and saw the battlefield. "Yes, I saw the chaos before but...-"

Mario smiled. "Shall we-a head down and join Luigi?"

"Sounds good. Please lead the way."

"With-a pleasure!"

Mario and Peach made their way to the staircase. Each step causing a massive thud.

Mario looked at his feet, and then to Peach.

Peach sighed. "Mario, you need to lose weight."

"Hey! I'm-a not tubby! That's not-a even me!"

Mario stopped moving and the thudding kept continuing.

"..."

They both looked at each other, fear in their eyes.

"Princess Peach... GET-A DOWN."

Mario shoved Peach to cover as a giant fireball landed right where she was.

"Ah hah!" Mario clicked his fingers. "I knew I had an instinct! As for this-a intruder..."

The intruder made his presence clear, looming on a higher level of the skyscraper. Gleaming horns, flaming red hair, burning eyes of hatred, a massive build of a body, and large gnashing teeth.

The user's claws were gripping on a very familiar flaming axe.

"MARIO!" The user called. Of course, it wasn't just any ol' Flame Spirit. It was-

"Bowser."

- as Mario said.

Mario jumped to a wider skyscraper as Bowser soon followed, punching his fist down as he loomed in front of Mario. Yep, he definitely got a bit bigger when Efreet possessed him.

Then Bowser spoke again.

"Gah! Get out of my way! You secured the chaos, now you may rest! I need to continue on!"

"No-a way. You're-a going down this time."

"Didn't you hear me last time? Oooh, that is IT! I am SO going to knock you out and spin you all over! This time, for sure!"

He stomped his foot and roared. "GWAAAARGH!"

Princess Peach was sent flying to another skyscraper as a box of fire contained her.

"GUERAHAHAHAHA!" He grinned evilly as he laughed. "GWAAARGH! CAMAEL!"

The axe he held glowed. Bowser spoke. "You see, Mario, I'm not unlike any other boss fight. I actually learn from my mistakes! NOW DIE!"

Bowser swung his axe at Mario, which he ducked. "Woah! Mama-mia! Now it's my tur-"

Bowser swung down, causing Mario to yelp and dive backwards. "NOW it's-"

Then Bowser swung to the side, causing him to jump. "HEY!"

Bowser jumped and lunged his axe, knocking Mario back a bit.

Then he finished his combo by jumping up and slamming the axe down. The axe got stuck!

"Haha! Now I can lift it!" Mario got up and chased after the axe.

"Nuh uh uh! I'm sticking right by my axe! I've LEARNED!"

His mouth caught on fire as he spat fireballs at Mario.

"WAAAH!" He rolled to the side, jumping mid-roll and striking a pose. He then ran up to Bowser.

Bowser jumped back to avoid Mario and then jumped at him. That was his crucial mistake.

Mario quickly flipped Camael to the other side, and then Bowser landed, right on the sharp edge.

"GWAAARGH!" He roared in pain as he jumped up and ran around.

Mario punched Bowser in the jaw as he flipped on his back.

He then jump, twirled, and did a Ground Pound on him!

"BWARGH!" Bowser spat out a fireball in retort of having his stomach literally being stomped on. "GrrrrrrAGH!" He attempted to grab Mario while he was on Bowser, but Mario jumped back. Bowser literally got up and instantly fired a fireball.

"WAH!" Mario flipped to the side, the fireball barely grazing his cheek.

"That's it! No more axe! MEGIDDO!" Bowser summoned. The axe whirred and turned into a cannon.

"Oh no."

Instead of firing one huge laser and being done, Bowser went the extra mile of firing GIANT fireballs at him.

Mario had a hard time, even jumping over one, looking behind him occasionally and seeing the massive damage. Time to end this quick.

Bowser jumped up and fired his fireballs down this time. Mario had nowhere to go and eventually got hit. "DOH!"

"Time to finish you off." Bowser smirked and went back to axe form. He slammed it down on Mario...

But this was planned.

Mario swerved to the side, causing the axe to get stuck. "Alright, defending myself!"

Bowser used Efreet on his own body, using a Spin Move he learned from his galaxy days to try to trip Mario up. Mario ducked under the arm.

"Woah, mama-mia... Didn't expect this to get used again."

Bowser then jumped up a LITTLE bit to try and squish Mario. "HurAGH!"

Mario moved while Bowser jumped to grab the axe.

Bowser got desperate to hit Mario so he went with another Ground Pound. "SNARL!"

Then Bowser realised his mistake.

"NOOOORGH!"

His butt landed straight on the axe, causing him to wince in pain. He ran around, clenching his behind. Mario flipped him over again.

Then he jumped up and Ground Pounded his stomach again! Bowser roared as Mario got off.

"C'mere!" Bowser then curled and turned into a Whirling Fortress, his shell being the only thing present.

The Shell spinned towards Mario.

"Woah!" Mario flailed his arms and jumped over it.

Bowser got out of his shell and looked at Camael. He grinned.

He gripped Camael with both hands and started to spin in a circle.

More and more and more and more and more...

Now he was just a blurry circle. The circle started to MOVE TOWARDS MARIO.

"OH NO!" He attempted to jump over it.

Time slowed down, Matrix-style, to show that Mario had actually JUMPED ON CAMAEL and caused Bowser to disalign his spin and accidentally throw it to the ground.

Bowser was dizzy after that, so Mario took his only chance...

Then he looked at Camael.

"He's-a not gonna jump again..."

Mario grabbed Camael with his two hands. "HERE GOES!"

Bowser snapped out of his stun, to see that Mario was charging straight at him.

"Huh?! That's!"

Mario sliced Bowser with Camael itself, delivering the finishing blow.

"GWAAAAAAARGH!"

Bowser let out a horrifying roar as he fell to the ground on his stomach as Camael disappeared in a fiery 'poof'.

"Grrrhhhrgh..."

Bowser got up, looking at Mario.

The flames captivating Peach disappeared as she went to join by Mario.

Bowser clenched his fist. "WHY YOU...! Yes, I can see why you're my arch-nemesis now. Unfortunately, your time is up. I'm not going to attack you now, but let it be known, I will have the last laugh!"

"Good, now run along before-"

"I LIED!" Bowser roared, punching Mario straight off the tower.

"MAAAAARIOOOOOO!" Peach yelled as Bowser disappeared into flames and didn't capture Peach.
