"WAAA-AA-A-A-A-A-GGGGH!" Mario screamed as his voice glitched throughout the portal. He landed on cobblestone, quite a rough landing at that. He got up, clenching his body in pain. "Owowow, no more-a rough landings! Bowser Jr, you made it through okay?"

But there was no Bowser Jr.

"Oh, great. Now I'm all alone. Anybody would-a be better than-a nobody."

Mario could see actual dust clouds on the ground. No life, no anything.

"What the-a heck happened here?" Mario questioned - before getting tangled in a vine. "What the -" The vine swooped over to meet a purple hair girl with a strange bandage over her eye.

"You." The girl spoke.

". . ." Mario looked around, to see nobdy but himself, and then to the purple hair girl. "Me?"

"Leave this world behind. Your reckless actions endanger it."

"Why so?"

The girl pouted. "Sheesh - thought you'd instantly comply! I wanted to pledge servitude to SHIDO, not whoever you are!"

"...it's-a-me, Mario?"

The girl smirked this time, her right eye squinting because her left eye was covered in the bandage. "Heh. Alright. Name's Ren. I'm stuck in this sort of weird limbo due to a certain someone's negative and sorrowful emotions."

Mario simply tilted his head. "Sounds like a real-a drama queen."

"Sure is. Hey, while you're here, wanna make our moments last a while? I'm gonna be stuck in this limbo of... oh, what did they put it as... 'Non Canon'... for a while." Ren released the strange vines from Mario.

Mario, stupidly, decided to burn all vines in the vicinity with his Firehand. It all went down so easily, and Ren not so amused. "Why - I spent a LONG time decorating it and here you are just deciding to... to... BURN IT!" She grabbed Mario. "You'll.. you!"

Mario screamed. "Well exuce-a me for not wanting to get-a tangled in this dystopia again!"

"Well why don't you look up there and see what you caused?!" Ren shouted back, pointing to the sky.

Mario retorted back. "Don't you-a say that to me! Some day, you are-a gonna be a canon character, and then Shido will-a bonk you for being so blatantly rude! And what on Honeyhive Galaxy are you-a pointing at-?!" Mario followed Ren's pointing to the smoke trail from his own Bworb. Then to a flying figure who landed right behind Ren, startling her which let go of Mario. He shook his head and gripped the back of it with his hand, getting his vision back and he saw who it was. "Oh. No."

Anon: "Did I hear someone mention servitude to Shido? Darling, don't be like that. He's not worth it. I can do anything he does but better."

Mario leaned forward and clenched his fists. "Anon!"

Anon: *turn to Mario* "Hello, Mario. Did you miss me?" *glares at him*

"How can I miss you?" He shrugged wildly. "You-a never go away!"

Anon: "Oh, really. Well, I'm glad I'm not here for YOU, then." *turn to Ren* "Why don't you come with me? You can grant my wishes, and it can be an infinite amount!"

Mario folded his arms. "I thought your heart was set on-a Kurumi?"

Anon: "Ah, I did say that. Well, I can add more just because of my godly powers. Remember, I'm the ultimate girl magnet despite looking like something out of Twilight."

"Cool, great." Mario snuck back and quickly looked around. "Tell me what it's-a like with Ren! I'm-a not sticking around to find out!" He sprinted down the streets, leaving Anon and Ren behind, with newfound determination set in Mario's eyes - anywhere that isn't with Ren or Anon.

Anon: "So, about your wish granting..."

"Get lost."

Anon: "But..."

Mario dove into the ground, and held his back against a dried-up fountain wall. Mario wiped his forehead. "I think I-a lost him. Anon is a bad-a guy and I really do need to be away from-a him!" Mario walked toward a new street.

He looked up at the portal, but then looked to the top. "1000 words left on this-a chapter, huh. Seems like-a the author's just-a padding it out, but c'mon. We needa find a way-a up there." Mario jumped off the walls of the fanfic border and jumped to the word count. "I don't-a care if I'm-a breaking the fourth wall just like Anon! I need to get-a out of here, NOW!" Mario stomped until he kicked the word count up to the portal as it fell to the ground for easy access. Mario dived in, just barely dodging a teleporting Anon who pounced to grab them, only coming up empty handed.

Anon: "Tsk.. That just gives me more time with Ren, then. Farewell, idiot. May I forever take Shido's place."

Mario fell... upwards? into a field of grass. He rolled over and squinted into the distance - it was a city, but Mario had a feeling this fake world wasn't done yet. He got up to his feet to see a blonde, angelic-like girl laying on the ground. Odd. He then spoke to himself. "Hopefully Anon stays-a out of this one. Kid's-a too greedy for his own-a good. Because now, I gotta get-a back to..."

Mario slowly looked up as his eyes shrunk. There was a giant black ball-like Angel in the sky with numerous eyes staring down at the poor pesky plumber.

"...to business?"
