Hey everyone sorry for delaying thi for a while. Got caught up on other stuff like job hunting, writing another practice story, and rewriting this chapter a few times. Either way I hope I did justice to this chapter and I hope you all enjoy. Plus, leave any reviews on how you think about the way im trying tp power up Philip. Ty! P.S I don't own Nier: automata nor Dead by Daylight.

Expect a few gramical errors since I finished this on some 3 AM ADHD motivation drive.

A week has passed since Phillip made contact with the settlement. Other than the frequent night terrors, Philip has been doing well. Philip has also tried to fix things with the settlement. But they've always said he didn't deserve to be forgiven because he desecrated their creators, leaving Phillip perplexed. What do they mean by creators? Were they talking about God? Were they judging the color of his skin? No, that couldn't be; he also saw others of color there.

Releasing a sigh of frustration, Philip decided to leave it there. He had more important matters to attend to, such as food. The place where he stayed to eat had been sacked and is still being monitored to this day, which left him having to do extra fishing. But he didn't let this setback deter him.

Fortunately, the new bow he crafted became his lifeline. It transformed fishing from a tedious chore to a breeze, and he could now hunt larger game. The memory of his first successful hunt, a mighty moose, still made his face smile. However, his jubilation had been short-lived, as his celebratory cheer had attracted some machines.

Thankfully, after a while, they left, and he was able to gut the animal and skin it. This was good for him since he could make a blanket from the skin now. Sadly, the meat was too much for him to eat, and it rotted and covered in maggots. Thankfully, the maggots made good bait for fishing. But he still hated wasting so much meat.

Another thing Philip has been doing for the past week is experimenting with his powers. Whenever Philip made drawings on his bell, he used mud, white ink, blood, or the Entity's mark itself. Each time, he noticed a change in his abilities, whether it was increased speed, the ability to enter or exit the spirit realm faster, or the power to see through walls.

But that was in the Entity's realm; when he used his powers here, they were boosted.

An example would be when he used the Yiwarick symbol. His surroundings slowed. When Philip Used it in the Entity's realm, it allowed him to break pallets and vault windows faster. But he guessed now that he was out of it that the power expanded and slowed time. Of course, he used it to his advantage, which helped him make his bow faster.

Philip also used the Ohuwe-Onmnea symbol on his bell but used his blood instead. He was speeding through the abandoned city at amazing speeds while just walking. (He was going 8.89 meters a second while walking or 19.886 MPH)

He also tried some other symbols. For example, the Kunwulju symbol (the beast) made the machines and the other people he got close to very paranoid and anxious to the point they had a panic attack. The Baikra-Kaeug symbol (Blind warrior-mud) made machines and people blind for a while after uncloaking near them. Lastly, the Kratin symbol (Blink-mud) made him enter the spirit realm at incredible speeds. (Basically 120% faster)

However, one symbol Philip refused to use was the Kra-Frabai symbol (All seeing). As it was the mark of the Entity, Philip made sure to cut off all ties involving it, even the symbol itself. He would've discarded the bell, but with how much meaning it held onto it, he couldn't. Plus, the bell was a big boon in traveling, healing, and remaining inconspicuous.

As of now, Philip has been mostly watching people from a distance. Whenever they saw him or got too close, he disappeared. However, a pair has been hunting him more commonly than others: the woman in black clothing and the boy. Every time, they seem eager to find him, especially the boy.

Philip releases a sigh before ringing his bell with the bow. Once out of the spirit realm, Philip stared at the water. His appearance has changed now. He is no longer covered in mud, and most of the drawings on his face have since washed off. He no longer had the twigs sticking out of his head and was growing a beard.

"Times moving on now, huh? I'm glad." Said Philip to himself, smiling at his own reflection. "If I die out here, at least I know I'll never be brought back again." Standing up, Philip grabbed his bow and an arrow before aiming into the water. Waiting for the perfect moment, Philip released the arrow, and it turned true as a fish began thrashing around in the water. Smiling, Philip continues to fish more.

While fishing with his bow, Philip heard someone approach him. Reacting quickly, Philip grabbed his bell and rang it. Crossing into the spirit realm, he began to run.

"Wait, no, no, no! I just want to talk- ah, Dammit, he's gone!" Pleaded a woman's voice.

Philip stopped mid-run when he heard that. Turning around, he observed who was trying to talk to him. Philip saw a light-skinned woman with short black hair and an eye covered by a piece of cloth, wearing military pants and a cloak. Philip stood there debating whether he should uncloak. But seeing as this was the first time someone wanted to talk to him rather than attack him, he relented.

Ringing his bell, Philip appeared in front of the woman.

"Oh, you're back! Great! I thought I may have scared you off," they sighed in relief. But wow, look at you. It's as the descriptions say: a tall black person with smoke coming off them. Is it smoke? I don't smell anything," the woman questioned, getting closer to Philip, sniffing and inspecting him, which caused him to back up a bit.

"Oh, sorry, probably getting too close for comfort; names Jackass. What's yours?" She said, extending her arm.

"Philip, Philip Ojomo." Philip said, smiling back at her. "Why the name Jackass though? I don't think a lady fitting yourself should have such names."

"Oh, quite the charmer, too." Throwing a playful punch at him caused him to release an 'oof.'

"And you have quite a punch for someone of your stature." He complimented, rubbing his arm and wincing a bit.

"Really? I didn't put that much force into it." As she began to test her arm in the air.

"Just goes to show your strength. So, what did you want to talk about with me?"

"Oh, right! I have so many questions for you! What tech do you use to go invisible? Where did you find those human remains? And why are you releasing so much smoke?" As the woman fired off each question, Philip began thinking about how to answer them. Should he tell her the truth? Well, there's no harm in it.

"Hm, well, for me, being able to go invisible has nothing to do with tech."

"It doesn't?" Philip shook his head.

"I'm pretty sure you won't believe me, but when I go invisible, I'm actually crossing into a different plane of reality."

"Like the fourth dimension?"

"Uh, no. I'm crossing into the spirit realm." The woman raised a skeptical eye when she heard Philip say that.

"Spirit realm, you say. So is it old-world magic?" At that, Philip paused, thinking about it. 'Hm, I guess it is.'

"In a way, it kind of is."

"That's... Awesome!" Now, Philip wasn't expecting that reaction. So when the woman began questioning him more, he tried his best to explain. Which led to even more questions from the woman. "So let me get this straight, at first, your power was linked to the bell; after a while, the power grew, and you could enter the spirit realm without it." Philip nods, and she continues, "And the smoke coming off of you is connected to your powers?"

"That has been my best guess. In all the time I've used my power, it has never done this."

"Hmm, have you seen the spirits of humans in the spirit realm?" Philip paused at that question as he began to ponder it. He hasn't really seen anything while inside the spirit realm. He has felt pulls in certain areas but needed to think more about it. But overall, Philip hasn't seen another spirit in the realm.

"As of now, no."

"It would've been nice to learn some human history from them. Whatever doesn't matter, but if you see any ghosts, try to see if they're willing to share any info. Now for the next thing, where did you get the human remains? I heard you were wielding a makeshift weapon using a human skull."

"..." At that, Philip looked aggrvated.

"Uh, heh, sensitive topic?" she said nervously.

"A bit. But it's best to let go of that part of my past. The skull belonged to a man named Azarov. A man I killed in a fit of rage." Philip let out a breath before he continued. "But it's not like he didn't deserve it. The man made me into an unwilling killer. When I worked for him in a wrecker's yard, I was mostly involved in fixing or crushing cars. A simple job, really. But one day, while working the crusher. I heard a faint groan of pain. Stopping the machine, I went to check the car. Inside the trunk was a man tied up; I was so shocked, but I didn't hesitate to free the man. But when I freed him, he didn't make it too far before Azarov came in and cut the man's throat in front of me. I questioned him, and when I was told what I was really doing... I was so angry that I overpowered him, tied him up, and put him under the crusher. And before he got fully crushed, I grabbed his neck and ripped out his skull." Philip stayed silent for a few seconds before turning over to the woman he was looking at him in a state of shock.

"You know what is also funny? I went to that place in hopes of escaping the violence in my own country. Only to become an unwilling executioner to hundreds of people." At that, Philip began to tear up and cry. "So much blood on my hands. So much violence. I couldn't escape it." Philip began to cry, no longer caring about the woman beside him.

(Jackass)

When Jackass first began to look after this mysterious android with the desecrated human remains. She first wanted to question him about his abilities. Where the other human remains were. And other stuff. Of course, after she did, she was going to kill him. After all, he did desecrate their creators, and while she may be a bit insane, she would never go that far.

After a few days of searching and finding certain patterns where the bell was rung, she could find the android.

As they described, he was tall, with dark skin and curly hair. He was wearing resistance pants and a cloak, and there was a bell with a human skull on it. As Jackass was slowly approaching him, he was aiming a makeshift bow into the pond.

'Is he fishing with a bow? I never really thought of that. I should try it out soon!' Getting closer, she saw the android still before he quickly grabbed his bell and rang it. In a panic, she tried to persuade them not to run, but it was too late, and they disappeared. But another unique thing Jackass found interesting was how they went invisible. They burned away rather than being covered by a silhouette of reflective light.

When he reappeared, Jackass introduced herself, and he did as well. She raised her eyebrow when the android gave her a first and last name. It's not unusual for an android to give themselves a name, but a last as well? But when Jackass got closer, she saw the android's face. They had burn scars on it. While getting those injuries isn't unusual, this androids scars looked too organic.

But she still wanted to know more about the android's ability first, so she began asking in hopes of being able to replicate it. When the android explained how he was going invisible, it caught her interest even more—so much so that she was planning on keeping the android alive. When she finally asked the big question of where he got the human remains, that was when things took a turn for her.

As Jackass listened to the 'android' at how he worked for the human named Azarov. She felt... disgusted. But she has heard stories about how not all humans are pure. She listens to what Philip went through and what he was unwillingly forced to do. And when he described the detail of how he killed him, Jackass had to admit the man did deserve it. Killing other humans and forcing an unknowing participant to kill for him.

As She saw Philip breaking down into tears, Jackass came up with a single conclusion to this story. 'He's no android. He's human." Especially when she saw those callouses on his hand. No android has callouses. But she'll take care of him for a while before she reveals him. After all, you don't get a good specimen of a human every day. And she'll make sure not to kill him. 'Propbably should get those twins involved as well... Eh later.'

Welp I hope you guy's liked it. If there anything I should improve please tell me so I can go back and fit it. Also please leave reviews as well because those things are more of a drug of motivation for me more than likes and follows. (For some reason)

gamingspurl11: Thanks for the motivation. :)

Steven Miller1: Hey Im glad you enjoyed the what if endings. I'll try to be doing a few of those here and there. Kinda like the joke endings.

Crescentation: Glad you like where I'm going with this. Plus, Jackass may know now but like she said she wants to keep him to herself for a bit. So he'll have to defend himself a bit if he gets into any trouble with other androids. Plus, him helping in the shadows got me a idea for what to do in the next chapter.

ALright everyone please leave reviews, PEACE!
