Chapter 41
In the stadium the crowd was angry about not being able to see any of the battle royal. They were willing to overlook not seeing the other areas but when they lost video of the Jungle Area they just about had it. They were yelling for their money back while some of them were wondering where their friends/family were in the battle royal. With the help of the Elite Youth, staff were handing out blankets with some of them trying to calm some people down who were trying to force their way home.
"Even I want to complain. I don't know who's dueling, I don't know who's winning or losing. I can't do the play-by-play!" Nico said, sitting on the field complaining to himself. He began to shake as he thought about the fact he couldn't do what he loved.
"C'mon! Let me work! Pretty please?" Nico yelled to the sky with tears falling down his face. Receiving their blankets Ayu, Futoshi, Tatsuya were trying to get as comfortable as possible. Ayu looked at her duel disk and told Tatsuya that his opponent was Reira.
"You may have a hard time to plan since Reira can use Fusion and Xyz's." Shuzo said as he looked at them.
"Well the only thing you can do is give it your best." Yoko said. Nodding Tatsuya tried to fall asleep since they had nothing to do anyway. Seeing this, Yoko let a soft smile form on her face but when she turned to the four screens that were saying no signal she couldn't stop the worry that started to build in her heart.
'Yuya…' She thought while Shuzo was saying a prayer to his late wife to look after Yuzu.
Jungle Area
Yuya was sitting by a tree trying to get some sleep. A few hours earlier Tsukikage had left to find his brother and told Yuya not to leave this spot. But every now and then he really wanted to find Yuzu or Gongenzaka so that way he wouldn't be alone with his thoughts. He replayed everything Syrus and Jim said and no matter how much they could try and sugarcoat it, they were nothing more than tyrants or terrorists. With a sigh he got up and walked around. He knew that Tsukikage told him to stay there but he needed to clear his thoughts. He found a spring and drank from it and had some berries that he found in the area. He almost went back when a portal appeared right behind him.
Cursing, Serena glared at the ground. Not only did she suffer from a headache a few hours ago now she had to act fast and if she didn't find Yuya, he would end up carded by the idiots who wanted to card as many people as possible. She cursed again and looked up. When green eyes met red she felt her breath hitch.
"I-I finally found you!" She said with a smile of someone who has just seen an old friend. She slowly walked over trying to approach but then a gust of wind blew her back almost making her hit a rock. She looked up and saw Sheba standing in front of her.
"Sheba!" Yuya yelled but from the way she was staring at Serena she was mad.
"Who the hell are you?" Serena asked
"That's my line! Who the hell are you and what the hell did you do to that boy!" Sheba yelled with her duel disk active. She saw the Academia soldiers gang up on Ken Umesugi and then card him. She was so scared that she remained hidden. She only came out when they all left but when she saw Yuya with two ninjas and two of those people following she got scared and began to follow them. When they finally reached the Jungle Area she hid behind a shrub that completely covered her but Tsukikage looked right in her direction she thought she was in trouble but when he turned around she let out a sigh of relief and just remained heard what those two boys said and she couldn't help but agree when Yuya called them terrorists.
"I don't have time for this! I need to leave with Yuya as soon as possible!" Serena said and tried to approach but Sheba summoned Lerage who very quickly attacked Serena but Serena quickly jumped back.
"Wait Sheba, you shouldn't use your monster to hurt others!" Yuya said.
"I'm not! I'm just trying to protect you! You need to run!" She said when Serena summoned her own monster that was attacking Lerage.
"No! You need to run! She is after me so you can get away if I distract her!" Yuya said, activating his duel disk.
"You really are a good person huh?" Sheba said looking at Yuya who only smiled and stood in front of her trying to allow her a head start. Lerage looked back at Sheba who nodded at her and with a quick slap Lerage hit Serena's monster into a tree and went right behind Sheba.
"I'll keep her busy so run as fast as you can" Yuya said watching Serena ask her monster if it was okay and the monster nodded quickly getting back up. Just when Yuya was about to draw from his deck Lerage picked him up causing him to yell out in shock. She looked at Sheba one last time then flew away with Yuya in her hand.
"Wait! We need to go back! Sheba's alone!" Yuya yelled but the Lerage kept flying away. When Lerage finally let him go and then disappeared, he saw that he was far away from where Sheba and Serena were.
"Damn it!" He said. He looked around trying to get his barring when he saw three members of the Obelisk Force surround him.
"Wh-What?" He asked, looking between the three smirking men. Each one activated their duel disk. He activated his duel disk and just as they were about to duel a huge cat fell from the sky holding Serena.
"You're in my way. Go deal with the Xyz's refugee's. I'll deal with this." She said and with a nod the three Obelisk Forces.
"Who are you? Why do you look like Yuzu? What do you want from me? And where is Sheba!" He asked, duel disk raised.
"My name is Serena. The reason why I look like Yuzu is…well if I try to explain now it will take a long time. And I want to protect you, so will you please come with me?" She asked with her face flushed and then held out her hand hoping he would take it ignoring his question about Sheba's well-being.
"Protect me? What do you mean? And where is Sheba!" Yuya said, not moving. When she saw this she frowned but when the huge cat held her shoulder she smiled at her.
"Your right Cat Dancer. He doesn't understand. Also that girl is right here." she said holding out a card showing Sheba on it. When he saw that he felt his rage begin to build up. His hair covered his eyes as he remembered how he saved Sheba from falling into the lava and then their duel. He didn't really know her very long but he knew she would have been a great duelist. He then felt rage build up when he remembered Sheba sacrificed herself to protect him. The black aura from earlier began to surround him again as he glared at Serena who was watching him. She released a sigh, and then holding out her hand the monster disappeared into a flash of light and then turned into a card that she put into her deck. She then looked at him and said that if they must duel then she was fine with that and told him that if she wins he comes along with her. But Yuya just glared at her.
"Duel!" They both said at the same time.
Volcano Area
Riding down a long road, Rin skidded to a stop when the ice she was riding on suddenly changed.
"First the Ice Age, now a fiery hell? What the hell is going on in this world?" Rin said as she looked around.
"Stay away!" she heard someone yell. She turned to her left and saw three Obelisk Forces surround Makoto Takeda.
"They're…" Rin said as she remembered riding through Xyz's and seeing them attack innocent people. Then she saw one of them lift up their arm and a purple light came from it.
"They're doing the same thing here!" She said, clenching her handle. Hitting the accelerator she drove her bike up a rock. When they heard the bike all three men turned to face her when she flew onto the overpass glaring at them.
Control Room
"Sir, it's the duelist we last saw in the Iceberg Area." a woman said as they had a camera try and focus on Rin's face but her helmet blocked them from getting a good view of her face.
'Is she a friend or foe?' Reiji thought as he remembered Shun and Ruri telling him about a girl that rode a bike and could be a minion of Fusion. But from the way she was frowning at the five men, he was beginning to have some doubts.
Volcano Area
"Who the hell are you?" One of the men said, taken aback. She ignored them and looked at the card of Makoto that was discarded on the floor. She looked up and then activated her duel disk.
"What? You want a duel? Very well." One of them said smirking as they all activated their duel disks.
"Duel!" they all said.

"My turn! I summon Ancient Gear Hunting Hound! Now I inflict 600 points of damage thanks to its effect." Red said summoning a monster then firing a fireball at her, reducing her life points.
"I end my turn! Let's finish this now so we can look for that traitor." Red said looking at Yellow who nodded back at him.

"My turn! I also summon Ancient Gear Hunting Hound! Now I inflict 600 points of damage! Go!" Yellow said and again Rin was hit with a fireball, but her determination didn't leave her eyes.
"I end my turn!" Yellow said with Green walking up.

"My turn! I su-"
"Let me guess, You summon Ancient Gear Hunting Hound and then inflict 600 points of damage right? No creativity." She said, interrupting him. With a tsk, he did exactly like she said and inflicted 600 points of damage but then he let a demented smile form.
"I activate Super Polymerization and fuse all three Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds by discarding one card! Fusion Summon! Appear! Ancient Gear Double Hunting Hound" He said summoning his monster.
"You left the others open for attack." Rin said but the other two laughed saying that only one had to win and they could beat her without their fusion so it was fine.

"My turn! Draw! Since I control no monsters I special summon Windwitch- Ice Bell! Next I search my deck and summon another Windwitch- Ice Bell! Now since all the monsters I control are 'Windwitch' I can Special summon Windwitch- Blizzard Bell and I'll Summon Windwitch- Freeze Bell too. Now I Normal Summon Windwitch- Glass Bell and thanks to her effect I can add one 'Windwitch' from my deck to my hand." Rin said as she summoned Five monsters onto her field. She felt her monsters start to cause a breeze to help cool her down which caused a smile to form confusing her opponents.
"What's so funny?" Green said but Rin told him that it was none of his business causing him to grit his teeth.
"I activate the effect of Ancient Gear Double Hunting Hound and place a Gear Acid Counter on all your monsters!" He said as a gear appeared on all of her monsters much to their displeasure. Rin told him that he may want to cool down since she isn't done and she really didn't want to hear him repeating himself by saying Ancient Gear Double Hunting Hound's effect every time she would summon, which made him shake with rage from her comment.
"When I succeed in summoning or Special Summoning Windwitch- Ice Bell, I can deal 500 points of damage!" Rin said as both of her Ice Bell's reduced Red's life points.
"What the hell? Why is that so cold?" He yelled, rubbing his arms.
"You don't get to complain after what I've seen you do! I tune my Level 4 Windwitch-Glass Bell with my Level three Windwitch-Freeze Bell!" She said but got interrupted by Red.
"What the hell? Why is that so cold?" He yelled, rubbing his arms.
"I already told you not to complain after what I've seen you do! I tune my Level 4 Windwitch-Glass Bell with my Level three Windwitch-Freeze Bell! Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings, and strike down our enemies at the speed of light! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!
Control Room
"Sir, we're picking up abnormal Synchro waves now!" A man said typing like crazy. Staring at the Screen Reiji was trying to understand why both Rin and Serena were giving off weird waves.
"It's almost as if…" He whispered to himself but without getting confirmation in person he could only ponder.
Volcano Area
"What the hell…that dragon looks like…" Yellow said as he stared at Rin's dragon.
"It doesn't matter! Ancient Gear Double Hunting Hound's effect activates and places a Gear Acid Counter on your monster. Time for some new jewelry for your dragon." Red said as his monster was about to activate its effect.
"I really don't like this gaudy jewelry so I activate Clear Wing's monster effect! When a level 5-or-above monster activates its effect, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon negates and destroys that monster! Dichroic Mirror!" She said and with a bright light Clear Wing destroyed Double Hunting Hound.
"You-" Red said clenching his fist shaking with rage.
"Clear Wing gains attack equal to the destroyed monster's attack points!" Rin said and with its glowing brighter its attack went from 2500 to 3900.
"You'll only be able to beat one of us! You can't stand up to the glory of Academia!" Yellow said trying to rile Rin up but she ignored him and grabbed a card in her hand.
"Since I control 2-or-more Wind monsters I can Special Summon Windwitch- Snow Bell." Rin said summoning another monster.
"What? You are still summoning?!" Green said when her new monster took the field.
"When did I say that I was done summoning?" She said, causing Green to clench his fist in rage.
"Next I tune my Level 1 Snow Bell with my two Level three Ice Bells! Midwinter wind, harness ice and snow and blow a storm! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7, Wind Witch - Winter Bell! Now I activate Winter Bell's monster effect! Once per turn, I can target 1 'Windwitch' monster in my graveyard and inflict damage to my opponent to the target monster's Level times 200. I chose Glass Bell!" She said as an Image of Glass Bell appeared on the field then merged into Winter Bell with a powerful gust of wind following after hitting Yellow dropping his life points. After recovering from the blast he began to rub his arms.
"WH-Wh-What the hell?" He said with teeth chattering.
"Battle! Winter Bell Get this trash out of my sight!" Rin said as her monster attacked Red forcing him back.
"Blizzard Bell! Finish what Winter bell started!" She said, and with a calm chime Blizzard Bell hit Red with a powerful wind mixed with snow, blasting Red three feet back and once again, unconscious.
"It's you turn Clear Wing!" Rin said. With a loud roar Clear Wing flew into the sky and then descended on Yellow reducing his life points to zero. He was also thrown back and knocked unconscious. Green looked at his comrades unconscious and when he turned back to Rin.
"I set one card face down and end my turn." Rin said.

"M-M-My Turn! Draw! I set one card face-down and end my turn." Green said as he drew his card but with his hand there was nothing he could do so he set a card face down. He then began to run, shocking Rin as she chased after him on her bike.

"Coward! My turn! Draw! Battle! Blizzard Bell attack the face down!" She said as her monster attacked the face down and destroyed it leaving Greens field open. He picked up his pace and jumped off the bridge forcing her to make a sharp turn almost damaging her bike.
"Clear Wing attacks you directly!" Rin said and just like before Clear Wing released a roar and did a skydive at Green. He looked around and with a smile he grabbed an Action Card.
"I activate Selection of Miracle and chose to halve the battle damage!" He said.
"Grab an Action card." Rin heard her bike say to her almost causing her to fall off.
"What? And who the hell are you?!" She yelled at her bike but the voice just told her to grab an action card that she is going to pass if she wants to win. Not fully understanding Rin saw the card the voice said. She wanted to say hell no but she needed some help if she wanted to stop these pieces of trash so she reached out and grabbed the card. She quickly read it.
"I activate No action and negate your spell!" She said, and all of her monster attacks points went back up. With one last roar, Green was hit by the draft from Clear Wings attack.
"Finish this Winter Bell!" She said, with a chime, Winter Bell released a gust of wind knocking Green out when his life points hit zero. She slowed down and then looked at her bike.
"Who the hell are you?" She asked again but was met with silence. She cursed but then when her bracelet started to shine she lifted her arm and pointed it in a direction and with a brighter shine she decided to follow the glow.
Control Room
"Sir, the Synchro duelist is heading towards the Jungle Area." A woman said as she kept Rin in her cameras.
"Sir, was that the right thing to do?" The man questioned Reiji's decision to tell Rin about the Action Card after they hacked into her duel disk.
"Synchro is not the enemy." Reiji said.
"President, we should send the Top Team." A woman said, standing next to Reiji showed him the Charts of Reira's health.
"That's pointless. LDS currently doesn't have the power to stop Academia's duelist. That's why I'm forming the Lancers." Reiji told her but she questioned that the Top team would probably be better suited for the lancers.
"The skills we've learned so far aren't enough against duelists from other dimensions. But the Junior Youth lower classes willingly accept Pendulum Summoning, so they have the potential to become stronger." Reiji told her.
"I apologize sir." She said and then with a nod from him she took the clipboard and began to leave. As she got to the door, Sawatari burst into the room.
"What's up with you, Reiji Akaba!" he said, shocking the woman who wondered what the hell security was doing but Sawatari said that his father's influence took care of that. Then turning to Reiji he asked him what the hell is going on.
"You want to see it?" Reiji asked with Sawatari saying of course. He wanted to see how far Yuya could go since he lost to him.
"Shingo Sawatari, do you want a second chance?" Reiji asked which caused Sawatari to smirk.
