It was so bad. It was intense and unstoppable and so terribly wrong, but he couldn't help it.
He didn't understand it himself. He was already married once. And even though he and Haley had broken up a long time ago, he was married with a son, and he had never looked at a woman the way he looked at her before. Never, in his entire life. Never before, not even when he was still in school, not even as a young, curious and horny adolescent, had a woman not even Haley taken him in this way.
He had many female friends and acquaintances, but he never wanted to kiss any of them, never wanted to touch any of them, never had dreams about any of them in which he pressed them against the wall, his lips pressed to the back of their necks so that he could inhale their scent as it moved back and forth in their bodies.
But Athena...
It was different with Athena.
His mind began to dwell in to foreign thoughts. He imagined the perspiration forming around her body as she buckled underneath him.
Her hot breath brushes against his ears sending shivers down his spine as she whispers to him for more. His two hands firmly gripping her buttocks, pulling her tightly close towards his body as he spills his hot seeds inside of her. He fantasizes her strong thighs clinging around his waist for dear life as he fucks her up the wall, letting all the neighbors know their raucous copulation. With a body like hers, he knew she has a large amount of endurance. Maybe she'll last until the sun comes out.
Athena mouth. Starting from his flexed abdomen, she'll plant soft kisses, sucking softly on his skin, down until she reaches his throbbing member. Swollen, aching and so ready telling by the precum spilling from the slit of the head. She'll hold on to his member with one hand as she uses her other hand to push a strand of her coffee-colored hair behind her ear. She tilts her head up and stares right in to his eyes. She looked neither hostile nor angry but eager.
He stopped before he went any further, before he loses control of himself.
FLASHBACK
The young woman was sitting in her office chair with her legs crossed. The store keys that she had used to lock the store were again on a table next to a mug of coffee. Athena looked almost like a normal woman, going about her own busyness, that is, if it weren't for the half naked man standing in front of her.
She couldn't get the thought of events from her mind. She had never felt so full before Hotch screwed her. They both took long drinks of their coffees, and Hotch noted how Athena had remembered his exact order.
His eyes wandered all over her body, and inappropriate thoughts filled his head but he managed to push away these thoughts as well not want to share with the readers his dirty adventures with his beautiful woman.
Hotch felt like a freak. After all, Athena was so young and innocent and sweet and naive and perfect and what did he want? He wanted to press her against him until he could feel the heat of his body, he wanted to press her against the wall, back to him, so tight that he could feel every curve of her body beneath him, he wanted to drop to her knees in front of him, take him in her mouth and watch her shivering, he wanted to bend her over and press his palms flat on the table top in his office while the rest of his agents were outside the door, just a few steps away, finishing up their latest case report, he wanted to run his fingernails down the young woman's back when Athena sob and beg to marry him.
Hotch groaned. What was happening to him? He was losing control over his mind and did not like it. His thoughts cut off when Athena came over and approached him. He reached up and placed a hand on his shoulder, gathering his full wanted attention.
"Spill."
Hotch hesitates. Secretly wondering if this is the place where it all ends.
Athena reaches out, her fingers lightly skimming across her skin, bringing both joy and yes, sadness.
"Mister Suit, whatever it is, you can tell me."
"It's us. I mean, what are we doing, Athena?"
"We're enjoying each other's company. At least I am. Are you saying you aren't?"
"No," Hotch quickly answers. "I am." Noticing Athena's crestfallen look, he looks to reassure Athena, taking her hand in his own.
"I'm not looking for a one night stand, Athena", Hotch warned her.
"Neither do I", Athena replied and when Hotch arched an eyebrow at her in disbelief, the woman took him by the waist kissed him on the lips, quickly, softly. "Look , I know about your existence before my brother even knew it, I had borrowed the team files from Gideon, I wanted to know who my little brother would be working with. I was impressed with some of you, Elle Greenaway, was one of the files I spent my time studying the most. Your envelope, on the other hand, was completely different, to tell the truth, I was only reading half the envelope because my attention was distracted by the photo it contained»
She straightened with a small laugh. Her eyes drank him in, cataloguing the signs: dilated pupils, clenched jaw, stiff torso. His hands were deliberately not clenched, but his fingers strained against nothing. He didn't move as she took her seat again beside him, didn't resist as she turned his head to face her. His breaths came fast and shallow now, warm against the bare skin of her wrist. He wasn't bothering to control them anymore. Maybe he no longer could.
"My whole life I've been trying to be a good husband". says a hysterical Hotch. "I walled up my heart so I would never get close to anyone. How could I ever be close to someone when I can't tell them the most important thing about who I am?"
Athena is floored by this display of emotion. She doesn't know how to respond.
"I've liked you for days Athena for some reason that baffles me to no end. I tried so hard brush it off as infatuation and then you kissed me and told me you liked me. That made everything become real, too real. You reciprocated my feelings and I... I couldn't deal. You match me in ego and arrogance, it's so crazy that we like each other. I couldn't accept it so I buried my self into work.
"Aaron, I," starts Athena as he starts to walk towards him.
God, he loves it when Athena uses his first name. It's so personal, so intimate, and it fills his chest with something akin to euphoria every time it graces his ears.
"Like I said, I never realized any of it myself until last night because I wasn't allowing myself to admit the truth. But my feelings for you, and having them reciprocated, really scared me. Without even trying, you've had such an effect on me and allowing myself to give into those feelings terrified me. I've never been good with vulnerability and I didn't like how vulnerable my feelings for you made me. After what happened with Hailey, I was afraid to let someone to get close to me..''
Athena sits there and allows himself to absorb Hotch's words.
"You don't have to apologize," says Athena looking up at Hotch. "I could see how much pain you were in and how surprised you were by your own words. Sometimes our emotions just overtake us so there's nothing to be sorry for. ''
"It was true, all of it," says Hotch carefully choosing his words, but knowing he needs to lay it all out. "I want you Athena, I want to look after you and treat you the way you deserve. I want someone that will rely on me, that I can look after and care for, that I can take care of. I am not looking for a kept person, but I like being the protector. And more than that I want you, you are attractive and funny, clever and quick,"
Hotch smirked and pulled Athena closer to him. He tilted his head down, feeling Athena tense as he neared, and then they touched. At first Athena was uneasy, Hotch could sense. She moved slightly, backing up against the wall, and Hotch followed her.
She hesitated before letting Hotch kiss her. It took her several long seconds to relax.
Athena's tongue is halfway down Hotch's throat when her phone chirps in her pocket. Hotch assumed Athena would just ignore it, given their current situation and the future situation Hotch was counting on. You could say he's surprised when Athena pulls away to check the message.
"It's Simon, we need to go." Athena says after a minute.
"What?" Hotch asks, brow furrowed. "You're just... Leaving?" He tries not to sound disappointed, but he's fairly sure Athena hears it anyway.
"Yeah. Simon needs me." Athena frowns. "I'm sorry, sweetheart ."
"We're kind of in the middle of something." Hotch argues.
"I know, I-"
"Oh my god. You're in love with him." Hotch concludes. He feels a harsh sinking feeling in his chest at the realization. His brain starts to panic at the thought of losing Athena. He backs away from Athena and feels his breathing speed up.
"What?" Athena voice almost cracks in shock. "Man, no, I-"
Hotch, to panicked to listen, has begun rambling. "I thought we had a good thing going here, but if she's the one you want then-
"Hey, mister suit-"
Hotch continues. "I guess I've misread this situation. You can go if-"
"Aaron." Athena says in a way that causes Hotch to stop in his tracks. She takes the man face in her hands. Hotch wide, black eyes meet the woman brown. "I'm not in love with him, okay?" brown gives a small nod. "He is my best friend and my platonic husband or ex husband for a life. If he needs my help I will run to him and viva versa."
He sighed with a relieved expression.
"I don't share, Athena" Hotch caressed her face with one hand, running his thumb over her cheek, "neither what is mine nor myself. You are cunning, brilliant, and underhanded, but also caring, funny, and sarcastic. You are everything I could have ever asked for. As long as you want this,
Athena looks back, innocently. "You don't have to worry about Simon , anyway!
"What? Why?"Hotch frowns.
Athena gave a Disney princess smile and winked saucily at Hotch.
"Well," Athena starts, slowly trailing a finger around the rim of her mug, "for starters, have you seen how hard—"
Athena looks back, innocently. "I was just gonna say how hardworking you are."
Athena grins deviously. "Plus, you've got a huge co..."
"That's enough, Athena!" Hotch says, blushing furiously.
"Collection of suits..." Athena trails off. "But seriously, that dick though..."She's interrupted by a large hand slapping over her mouth, but she just licks it away. "I mean, what a ride."
Hotch choked on something that was not there, but nodded eventually. Athena grinned in response and made sure that when she turned around that her ass brushed Hotch crotch.
END FLASHBACK
It was like there was an animal inside him somewhere. Yes, as if there was a beast within him that had its own plans, tearing at him from the inside, clawing at his guts and forcing him to obey, a beast that controlled him more and more.
Hotch dropped his pen and stretched his fingers before rubbing his eyes.
It didn't make sense. He couldn't focus on anything he was doing, it was like he was in a vicious circle, going round and round, and it was always Athena at the end, every time.
His gaze drifted to the office window again and he stared at Reid. The young man was sitting behind his desk and Hotch felt kind of uncomfortable to keep secret his relationship with Athena from Reid, she was his sister for love sake.
Hotch could tell Reid was uncomfortable. It was clear from how he couldn't stand to sit still, and how his head was always bent over the papers and his eyes fixed alternately on the documents and on the half-empty mug of coffee. He wasn't looking at Morgan or Emily, he wasn't responding to Garcia's jokes. He looked nervous as he bit his lip and was so damned careful not to look anyone in the eye.
Hotch frowned.
After all, Reid had become more and more relaxed over the last few years, at least within the team, as if he was getting used to being in his own skin, more confident and sure of himself. This was like going back a few years, sometimes to when he started on their team and was shy of them.
The phone ringing when he was finally beginning to make progress with his paperwork was the last straw. Hotch continued to fill out the forms as he dug out his phone and answered without looking at it.
"Yes?"
There was a pause, then a chuckle. "Is your day going that well?"
Hotch felt an involuntary smile tug at his lips.
"Sorry, Athena," he said. He set his pen down and leaned back in his chair. "It's been one of those days. How are you doing?"
"Oh, well enough," said Athena. "Deal with some assholes customers, put up with Simon bullshit and searching for a new neon links. Same shit every day .Are we still on for tonight?"
Hotch glanced at the door, and even though it was closed he lowered his voice, "It's been getting me through the day."
There was a startled silence, and Hotch could hear the smile in Athena's voice when she replied, "Me too."
She was quiet for a moment, and when she spoke again her voice was more serious, "How are you feeling?"
Hotch swallowed down the instinctive assurance that he was fine, and rubbed his eyes. He hadn't meant to tell Athena about their last case, but even over the phone Athena had noticed that something was wrong and Hotch didn't want to lie to her.
"Mister suit?"
Hotch shook his head. "I'm all right. Just a case get on under my skin. I will go for a quick walk to get some food and coffee before I start my paperwork!"
"Good," said Athena. He paused for a second. "And if you ever want to talk, I've got absolutely nothing better to do."
Hotch had to smile at that. "You're supposed to be focusing on your tattoos."
"I'm bored out my mind," said Athena bluntly. "And I want to help."
"I know," said Hotch. "Thanks."
"Any time." Athena sighed. "Anyway, I know you do have work to do, so I'll leave you to it. I'll see you later, Aaron."
Hotch was still smiling as he hung up. He hadn't seen Athena since the day they agreed to give a relationship a try, nearly a week ago, but they had spoken every day since and their conversations never failed to leave Hotch in a better mood. He was taking that as a good sign.
Simon was frowning, "Why are you so happy?"
Athena sighed, "Can't I just be happy?"
"Er ... no." Simon said honestly, and then frowned realizing that that had come out wrong. "Well that is not true, but the trouble is what makes you happy."
Athena couldn't help but think that that hadn't really helped her fex husband's case. So she asked, "And what the hell is that supposed to mean?" If Simon was trying to backtrack he was doing a lousy job.
''You're happy which means someone may die." Simon said calmly.
"Fuck you."
Simon feigned being angry, "Hey now! I'm just looking out for you."
''I have a date tonight?'
''A what now?''Simon merely arched an eyebrow.
Athena said a few things under his breath and none of them were complimentary. ''I have a date tonight. You dont know him but...''
''Aaron Hotchner?''
Instead of answering, Athena gives him an excellent impression of her's bitch face.
Now if Simon was smart then he would have said nothing, but Athena knew he'd dangled the metaphorical stick in front of him. "''Dont look at me like that!. Do you really think I hadn't noticed the obsession you had developed with this man and his file, even Elle noticed it and only once heard you talk about this man.''
''I am not obsession with him!''Athena states bluntly.
''Look Athena, I don't know what's going on inside your head and I honestly don't want to know. We may have divorced as a couple but I still love you as a friend and a partner, we care about you and I'm glad you found someone to catch your interest''Simon throws his head back and laughs.''I still can't believe it to be honest, I hope this all goes well. What I want to say is to be careful with all this, I see you excited and I don't want you to be sad if Hocthner doesn't meet the expectations you had of him. Just be carefull!''
Silence.
''Thank you Simon." She told has Simon hugged her tightly.''I cound not ask for a better ex husbnad!''
"Same here my dear ex-wife"Simon told her softly leaning down to kiss her cheek.''Now go to annoying someone else''
Athena with a fond smile, she picked up her phone dialling a number she could dial in her sleep.
It rings three times. Four. Ten.
Damn it, idiot, pick up. I don't have all afternoon.
When the phone finally goes to voicemail, she slams it back onto the bag with more vigor than strictly necessary, and briefly contemplates just driving home and getting dressed. She has spent time alone with Aaron Hotchner before, she should be able to handle this. But just barely making her way through a situation isn't the way Athena does things. She comes prepared, she over-delivers, and she leaves her audience in awe. Or occasionally rage. But certainly impressed.
Athena has a date with Hotch and need help. The man was funny and easy to talk while this makes it wonderfully easy for Athena to stare at the curls in his hair and the brown eyes of, it's quickly distracting her attention from actually listening. Hotch super relaxed and fun to talk to.
She was nervous.
And it felt ridiculous.
It was just a first date.
She'd been on countless first dates throughout her life, ranging from good ones to awful dates she'd had to skip out on halfway through. Compared to everything else she'd done and been through this was nothing, a normal part of her, overall, abnormal life. She kept trying to tell herself that it wasn't a big deal, but it didn't help, didn't ease the anxious roll of her stomach as she looks at herself critically in the mirror, half convinced that she needed to change her dress again.
All of this is what leads Reid to find a panicking Athena standing in front of her closet. It seems that there aren't any clothes actually left in the closet, dresses and skirts thrown across the floor and Athena's head cradled anxiously in her hands. She looks up when Reid clears his throat to get her attention, then immediately starts sulking even harder than before.
"What's going on in here?" Reid asks, a smirk gracing his face.
"I don't know what to wear," Athena grumbles out, kicking at a blue sweater on her floor. No one looks this nervous for a simple hang-out."I got asked out by a friend! And I don't know what to wear."
"Who?" Reid asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Aaron Hotchner," Athena replied, blushing heavily.
"Hotchner? My boss?!" Reid exclaimed surprised. "How did that happen?"
"Well," Athena began, "He came to see me in my shop after we went out with your team for drinks. We talked about us and...
"Us?"Reid looked like he was about to explode and he contemplated just dangling that bit of information a little bit longer over his head.
"Oh my god," Athena exclaimed. "We slept together after a long talk and confesses"
"Oh my fucking god," Reid gushed. "How the fucking hell did that happen?"
"Because I am beautiful, I have nice breast!"To prove her point, she reached up and cupped her chest.
"We are not talking about that!" He shook his head, "So what do you need help with?"
The woman rolled her eyes, "I have a big date in a few hours, and I need my gay uncles to make me look fabulous!"
Reid could almost feel his eye twitch, "Sis, just because Morgan and I are gay doesn't mean we're any good at this..."
"Oh shut up, you know you're going to help me, Spency, so stop arguing."
It was a futile fight, and they both knew it. Before Reid had realized what had happened, he was trying to pin Athena's curled hair into a fancy up do. If the team could see him now...they'd never let him live it down.
"Ouch!"
"I didn't even hurt you!"
"Watch where you're aiming that bobby pin!"
"Stop squirming!"
When Reid had finally managed to get Athena's hair, he made sure to douse it with plenty of hair spray. That hair was going nowhere...he just hoped Athena wouldn't be by any open flames anytime soon.
Reid leaves to let Athena get changed and once he is her meets him down the in kitchen. Feeling like a goofball she spreads her arms out in a 'ta-da' motion asking, "how do I look?"
"Beautiful as ever," Reid teases, his soft smile letting Athena know that he really means it."Hotch won't know what hit him."
"So where's Morgan?. I thought he will spend his night here with you " Athena asked as she laid out her make up on the table, getting a mirror from the bathroom.
"Hotch took his with him." Reid chuckled, "He is filling his paperwork's of four months "
Morgan ? Derek Morgan is. Morgan is good enough. He's smart enough. He's quick enough. And Athena , Athena loves Derek Morgan , because she sees the way he looks at her baby brother. The way he looks after Reid . Athena loves Derek because she sees the way Derek loves Reid. It's actual, real type love.
A knock.
Athena opens the door and saw who stood in front of the house she could feel...Aaron Hotchner was at the door and nothing more and nothing less than a bouquet of flowers in his hands. He was wearing a red button-down from Armani Exchange denoted by the logo, black Levi jeans, a gray American Eagle hoodie, and a black jacket.
Athena snuck a shy look at him. "Hey Aaron"
Hotch struggled to get his words out for a moment or two, before eventually coming up with, "Beautiful. Simply beautiful." He'd stood up and taken her hand, looking right into her eyes. He was inches away.
"Are you sure? It's not too much?" she turned her attention back to her beau.
"No. You look wonderful." he assured her, kissing the back of her hand, prompting a smile from Athena.
"Shall we get going then?" She looked up at him, noticing his eyes sparkling in his smiling freckled face. A hand that held a bunch of golden yellow flowers. "I...I heard they were your favourite." Hotch said shakily, handing them to her, still grinning.
Athena's smile threatened to take over her whole face. "Yes. Yes, they are. They're beautiful. Thank you." she lifted herself onto her toes to plant a kiss on his cheek and he blushed a little as a result.
"Shall we, Miss Reid?" Hotch asked with a smile.
She grinned and looped her arm through his. "I think we should, mister suit."
Athena follows Hotch down the block until they reach Hotch's car. A gray 2015 Hyundai Sonata with black leather interior. Respectable, but nothing fancy.
"Door's open," says Hotch.
Athena opens the door and gets into the front passenger seat. She sees a box of tissues on the floor by her feet and a pair of sunglasses on the dashboard. Turning around, Athena looks in the backseat and sees some clothes and a gym bag.
Hotch gets in the car and puts on his seatbelt, which signals for Athena to put his on too.
He turns to smile at him before starting the car and pulling out.
The car ride is pretty quiet except for when Hotch asks which radio station Athena wants to listen to and Athena says she has no preference.
They're both nervous and hyperaware of not wanting to say the wrong thing. After all, this is their first real date. A few days ago they silently liked each other while publicly expressing dislike for each other. Then things got weird when Athena admitted her feelings and Rossi pushed Hotch to asks her into a date. It was their first real, honest exchange about everything. And now here they are, this is a new beginning.
After about fifteen minutes of silence, Hotch announces "we're here."
Athena looks out the front windshield and sees a a restaurant.
"Come on," says Hotch as he opens his door and Athena follows suit and gets out of the of them entering the very high-class restaurant, the hostess immediately smiled and gestured for them to follow. Both returned the smile and followed along to a private room in the back. Inside, A waitress was already seated with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket next to him.
"You like it?" asks Hotch as he approaches Athena and directed her towards her chair, which he pulled out for Athena.
"It's beautiful," says Athena as she turns around and smiles at Hotch. "I've never been here before."
"Not ev eryone has class or good taste"Hotch burst out in his deep laugh, and was quickly joined by Athjena. That was when their food arrived, interrupting their joking. Hotch loved that he could laugh like that with Athena.
"Where is Reid?"
Athena smiled at the thought of her twin
She laughed."Putting because he will be alone in the aparement"
''He will not be alone, Morgan just left the office and I think they will make good use of the empty apartment!''
Athena straightened again and glanced round with a smile. "Oh dear."
Somehow, the chatter wasn't awkward, they found easy topics to talk about, staying away from work for the most part. Hotch asked about the shop tattoo, Athena asked about agent hobbies , and somehow that got into the topic of favorite books. By the time their main courses were ordered and brought out, they'd had two, playful, debates over Metaphysics writers and whether or not the God was a dictator .
And Athena was absolutely having the time of her life.
For a moment, they ate a couple bites of their respective foods, Athena got a steak and potatoes and Hotch got a roasted lamb, Athena caught Hotch staring at her with a fond-like look.
"What?" She asked softly after swallowing a bite and sipping the wine.
"Nothing," Hotch said, soft and gentle. "I was just... I dunno."
Athena studied him for a moment, "Aaron," she said, almost just as softly.
"I was just... thinking,"Hotch chuckled, and Athena whistled playful. Hotch glared at her, and Spencer chuckled gently.
«Your brother is a very private person but I can't find a reason why he never mentions you!»
They stood silent, side by side, as they looked.
Finally, Athena said, "Spencer is extra protective of me."
Hotch scoffed at that. "You weren't the one who punched one of my agents?"
"He is aware that I can protect myself !"," Athena said, her voice sadder than she probably meant it to be. "When I feel danger I can use my hands as a weapon, I know martial arts and I have a gun license. The problem with being ten years old is that you don't know how to protect yourself, especially if the enemy is someone who is supposed to love you.»
Hotch waited for more. When it didn't come, he prodded. "There is no greater warrior than a mother protecting her child."
Athena choked on the laugh that bubbled up and caught in her throat. Once she was under control, she shook her head and whispered, "She shrieked and shrieked for her mother, but her mother was already there. Her mother was the monster.!"
Hotch turned then, sharp eyes catching pain filled hazel so like Athena's.
Athena sighed. "Mom's psychosis was pretty manageable when we were kids. When she had bad days, we mostly stayed out of her way and dad handled her. As we got a little older, dad was gone more. Then the whole thing with Riley Jenkins happened and she had more and more bad days.
"About the time that we were eight, mom started to think that I wasn't real, that I was Spencer's imaginary friend. At first I thought it was a joke or that it would pass. She'd only set the table for three - her, dad and Spencer. She'd ignore me when I'd talk to her. If I moved something, she'd scold Spencer for doing it.
"Eventually, she stopped fixing food for me altogether. She'd get mad at Spencer if he gave me some of his. One time dad came back from a trip and the only meals I'd eaten were at school because my teacher paid the lunch lady for me. Dad would sneak me food when he was home but if she caught me eating, it would send her into a tailspin.
"Then, one day, she attacked me. She was under the delusion that I was Spencer's imagination come to life and I was distracting him from his studies. I just wanted to go outside and play. I was so tired of hiding inside. She grabbed me by the arm and threw me down the stairs into the basement. When dad found me he was so mad. He rushed me to the ER. My arm was broken in two places. While I was in the hospital, he moved just the two of us out."
Hotch stood frozen, listening to the horror that Athena had lived as a young girl. It was so awful, it was nearly impossible to believe. If it wasn't for the pain in her eyes and the slump of her shoulders, Hotch never would have. But there was no way Athena could have made something like this up. No way.
"You see? He was the child she wanted. He was so brilliant - everything she ever wanted in a child. He remembered everything he read, everything she read to him. He was clever and could keep her calm. Me? I could draw and make pretty things. She didn't care about that. She didn't want me so she forgot me. Made it so I didn't exist, at least not for her. That's why I went with dad. We went away because of me."
"Spencer spent his whole childhood trying to protect me and put up with a sick mother!"Athena turned sad eyes up to the painting across the restaurant. "Now it's my turn to protect him. That's what big sisters do, right? They take care of the ones they love, don't they?"
Aaron nodded. He fought against the urge to thumb the scars he still bore - the ones he'd taken for Sean.
"Yeah," he whispered quietly. "Yeah, they do."
''How did you decide to become FBI's agent?
''I used to be a prosecutor for the Virginia Department of Justice."
"Oh, that must be interesting."
"It can be, but it was also frustrating sometimes. I often dint't really felt like I'm made any kind of difference," Aaron sighed deeply and sipped at his wine.
''You felt trapped!
Hotch quirked up his brow and pondered what he was going to say for a moment,''Yes, And I'dworked closely with the FBI and that sometimes really made me see that I have made a difference but as an agent, I get that victory and another killer is brought to justice I feel at that moment like I've done something good. I know it's a bit of an ego boost, but I do care.Even if it prevents someone else from being hurt by taking a perpetrator off the streets, then I'm doing my job."
"Then you should feel good about what you do. ''
Athena also flashed her brilliant smile.
Hotch scrutinized the young man across from him and wondered, not for the first time during the evening, how this woman had caught his attention so much.
Athena was... everything he'd ever wanted, all wrapped up in one woman. He'd be disgusted with the level of his own infatuation if he hadn't spent countless nights examining and rexamining it and coming to the same conclusion.
Athena was squirming a bit under the look that Hotch was giving her and wondered what was going through the man's mind.
"Listen, I ah I have had a lot of fun, and I was wondering," Hotch cleared his throat, "I was wondering if you'd like to do this again, sometime." Hotch didn't want to hope. He also didn't want to speculate on why he was asking the woman across from him out on another possible date.
"You did? I mean I did too, had fun that is." She was fidgety, and she didn't quite know what to do with her hands. "I think I'd like that Aaron," Her breath caught again at the look that Aaron Hotchner was giving her. She thought that if they continued this, whatever it was, that smile alone would do her in.
Morgan sighed conttedly, nuzzling a little closer to Reid as he traced patterns on his chest. It felt surreal to finally be here, in Reid's bed on a lazy Sunday night after finally agreeing that this thing between them was serious, and real, and too incredible to let go of.
He felt his stomach flutter at the memory of their first date, and he huffed out a small laugh, unaware he'd even done so, as he remembered how terrified he had been of crossing that line.
"What?" Reid asked softly, voice scratchy with sleep.
"What? Oh," Reid pressed a small kiss to Morgan's shoulder. "Just...thinking."
"About?" Reid prompted, bringing his hand down to rest on Morgan's back.
"Our first date. And how scared I was."
Reid snorted. "You were clearly braver than me. You're the one who asked."
"True," Morgan said with a laugh. "I remember practising how to ask you out in the mirror."
"What?" Reid asked, propping his head up to look at Morgan. "Seriously?"
Under Reid's gaze, the admission suddenly seemed childish, and he felt his face grow hot.
"Oh my god, you're serious," Reid laughed, jolting Morgan's head from where it was resting.
He groaned, pressing his face into the pillow, away from Reid.
"No, hey," Reid said gently, laughter still in his voice, though thankfully he'd managed to keep it at bay. "Look at me."
Morgan took a deep breath before lifting his head to look at Reid, face still burning. Reidl's eyes were sparkling with the laughter that was just beneath the surface, but there was a softness to them, also. A softness that had Morgans heart pounding against his ribcage, stomach swooping.
Reid leaned in, pressing a delicate kiss to his lips ok before drawing back, soft smile slowly growing to a smirk. "What lines did you try out before you settled on stammering out an invitation to dinner?"
"Shut up," he pouted, letting his forehead fall to Reidl's chest.
He felt Reid's laughter before he heard it, but he couldn't stop his lips from quirking into a smile as Reid pressed a kiss to the top of his head, pulling him close. He's pleased when Morgan hastens to get in, but surprised when Morgan folds into his arms so that his back is pressed to Reid's chest. Reid recovers from the surprise quickly enough, grins, and wraps his arms around Morgan.
"We're not having sex."
"We're... um, what?"
Now Reid is more than surprised - he's totally gobsmacked.
As Reid jaw hits the floor ,Morgan sighs and explains, "Your sister cornered me in the bathroom the other day- of all places! - while I was brushing my teeth, and threatened to cut my dick off if she heard us fucking. There was a lot of graphic language used. It was... upsetting."
Truly, Morgan does sound upset. Still, Reid can't help but chuckle.
"You're scared of Athena? My Athena? My twin sister, formerly known as 'Baby Thena'?"
"Your sister is scary." He shudders."Sometimes, I feel like she wants to eat me."
"In a Hannibal Lecter kind of way or in a propositioning you for kinky sex kind of way?"Reid dimples when he glances at his boyfriend . "She's bluffing!"
"I'd rather not take the risk." Morgan winces and adds, "I doubt I could if I tried. Nothing kills the urge like hearing the specifics of how your dick is going to be separated from your body. And I do mean specifics."
Then he reaches over to the nightstand and switches the lamp off. Reid huffs and props his chin on Morgan's shoulder. "She's all talk. Besides - I'd protect you."
"Uh, no," Morgan says, laughing"Where is she anyway?"
"On a date!"Reid says, whilst pulling the blankets back.
"Excuse me?"
"Who is the poor guy?"
"Poor guy?"Reid chuckled. Moving slightly closer to Morgan."Trust me , he is the only one who can control and put up with my sister craziness!"
Someone must have given this man a copy of Reid's infamous Reid Athena Operating Manual.
They were in front of her apartment complex, and Athena sighed, turning to face Hotch. "Well... I guess this is goodbye," she said, a hint of sadness in her voice. She slipped Hotch's jacket off and handed it to him. He was illuminated by the street light, his hair appearing to be a brilliant gold in the light.
"Goodnight, Athena," Hotch said. Athena smiled at him and turned around, strolling toward the door. " He pulled woman's face up toward his and kissed her with as much passion as he could muster. When the kiss broke Hotch's eyes darkened and he gave her a look that took Athena's breath away effortlessly.
"I like you very much, Athena," he said softly, his voice slightly strained. "I've been waiting for this a long time."
"You would like to accompany me for a drink?''
Hotch let the smile spread across his face''I will like that!''
Your thoughts on the relationship between Hotch and Athena?
