Another day and another morning of classes at Metropolis High; Lincoln whistled to himself as he went to his desk for his first class of the day: geography. "You have seen her in English class, you have seen her in math classic... Now all the way from the Zatara family penthouse... The Amazing Zee Zatara!" Zee then shouted out as there was purple smoke at the door and then Zee jumped out and took a bow with her eyes closed as some students clapped.
Lincoln just rolled his eyes as Zee went to sit next to him; "Do you have to do that for entering all of your classes?" Lincoln asked amused with his elbow on his desk and his hand to his cheek. Zee flashed him a smile.
"You should always know how to make an entrance Lincoln; the world is a stage and you should treat it as such!" Zee told him and Lincoln laughed as the other classmates came and sat down at their desks. Then they heard the school intercom turn on for the morning announcements.
"Gggggggggooooooodddddddddd morning Metropolis High! I'm Leslie Willis here to deliver to you the morning announcements. This is my first morning on this show and I intend to bring to you what's up here in this cesspool that we call public education!" said an excitable female voice over the intercom and this raised some eyebrows including Lincoln and Zee.
"They let her do the morning announcements..." Lincoln muttered knowing that Leslie was one of the more infamous students on campus and liked being a thug.
"Well; this certainly won't be boring..." Zee muttered as they listened in.
"Lunch today will be some of the gunk slop that the lunch ladies thinks passes as pasta... I am already barfing just thinking about it... Yuck!" said Leslie and some students started snickering and Lincoln and Zee couldn't help but do so as well. "The Metropolis Titans are looking hot... Plus they are doing well in the season as well! I'm available is all that I am saying... Unlike the dorks in the band class; they should just look towards those body pillows. Plus it says that I am to say congrats to some nobody twerp called Karen Bleacher... Or something... Does it really matter..." Leslie continued on and Lincoln and Zee rolled their eyes as Leslie kept talking but then then they heard her bring up Karen.
"Did she really..." Lincoln muttered with an angry look that Zee returned and the intercom picked up the sound of the door crashing open.
"Oh look Principal Chap is here with us in the studio!" Leslie said sound non chalant about the whole thing.
"Ms Willis! I let you read out the morning announcements because I thought it would give you a taste of responsibility but it clearly did not work! Consider this edition of the morning announcements done, you finished and serving 2 weeks detention for your conduct!" Mr Chapin's angry shouting was picked up by the microphone.
"What? You can't be trying to cancel my show and me; I am just making this more interesting... Make sure the students actually listen to the announcements for once... Let go of that..." snapped Leslie and then the intercom got cut off as the class stared awkwardly and their teacher coughed to get their attention.
"After all that excitement... Can you please take out your textbooks and we will continue on with learning about Bialya..." asked the teacher taking out a copy of the textbook.
Lincoln, Zee, Barbara, Kara, Diana and Jessica were sitting awkwardly at their table at the cafeteria during lunch and stared at Karen as she was nervously in the line to pick up her dinner covering her face with her sweater as students were muttering and looking to her.
"Poor Karen... That jerk Leslie really put her into the spotlight..." Lincoln muttered in sympathy shaking his head and Diana gave a strong glare and folded up her arms.
"That Leslie Willis; picking on poor Karen... Why exactly did she feel the need to do so?" Diana asked outraged.
"For one she is a big bully and they tend to prefer to pick on easy targets that are too weak or afraid to stand up for themselves." Jessica then said with a glare.
"And because she wanted to get people talking and listening to her... I hear that her mum is a shock jock." Zee then said as Diana looked confused.
"She shocks people?" Diana asked as her friends shook their friends.
"It basically means that her mum is a radio show host and will intentionally stir people up and and stir up drama when discussing topics for the attention." Barbara then explained and they then saw that shoving past several students looking furious was a furious looking girl in black attire including a leather jacket and she had black hair with parts of it dyed dark blue. "Here comes the now former morning announcements shock jock now..." Barbara sighed as Leslie came across Karen.
"Here comes the twerp Bleacher now... Let's see what junk you have been working on now..." snapped Leslie grabbing her bag and searching inside and there was a gizmo inside and was about to throw it to the ground when Diana went and grabbed it and Jessica got Karen's bag back as Karen shrieked.
"Leave her alone Willis!" Lincoln warned her as the 6 friends of Karen stared down Leslie and then there was a cough from the door.
"Your punishment just turned into a suspension Ms Willis!" Mr Chapin then said as Leslie stared at the group and then left scoffing.
"your bodyguards won't be there forever Bleacher..." Leslie shouted out as she then ran to chere Mr Chapin was at the door.
Then they heped Karen up who sighed; "I hate the bad kind of attention and now thanks to her I now have it..." Karen groaned as Jessica put her cheek up to face them.
"You need to stand up for yourself Karen. Don't let her take your strength away from you." Jessica then said and Diana nodded.
"Jess is right Karen; you have the inner strength within you and you should bring it up." Diana then said as Karen sighed.
"Easy for you all to say; you are all so much bigger and more confident... I can barely make it through the mad scramble at home with all my brothers who keeps demanding attention..." Karen sighed as something in that clicked into Lincoln's mind.
Lincoln looked to the gizmo that Diana had gotten back from Leslie; "This won you your science fair? What does it do?" Lincoln asked trying to help by changing the subject and get Karen's spirits up as Diana gave it back to Karen.
"Oh this... It draws in electricity and uses it to power itself and other devices." Karen said as Lincoln thought that it looked impressive; for most students as it would be unfair to compare Karen's work to something like a mega genius such as Lisa but still.
After school it ended up pouring with rain and Leslie was angrily throwing baseballs at stuff at the scrapyard. "Stupid school... Taking my voice away... Stupid wimps being protected by stupid idiots..." Leslie snarled to herself as she took out her phone and she looke dto an ad for Metropolis Radio which had a photo of a smiling short black haired woman with glasses in black attire and with a leather jacket. "If only I knew how to get the big wigs to back off like you do Mum..." sighed Leslie and she decided to get a baseball bat and then started bashing the nearest thing there.
It ended up being some sort of device marked 'STAR LABS' and then a lightning bolt ended up striking it and Leslie at the same time. Leslie gasped and looked to herself as he felt funny but felt electricity surging through her and her skin turning light bue...
The next morning the weather had brightened up as the 7 friends went into school together; "Did anyone else get freaked out by that thunder, lightning and rain as well..." Karen asked feeling scared thinking about it as Jessica pulled her into a comforting spot by her side.
"The weather is all cleared up and we could look forward to a more normal school morning." Diana said clearly but then the lights of the halls started flickering on and off making their eyes widen.
"Okay... Did the thunder do a real job on the school or something?" Barbara asked as the intercom went on.
"Gggggooooodddd morning losers of Metropolis High... The name's Livewire and your morning announcements are that I am in charge and if you wanna be in the school then you listenin to my rules... If you are a loser or wants to fight then you can be like Mr Chumpin..." said a dastardly voice and then the voice started cackling.
"So much for normal..." Karen sighed as the rest of the group looked serious and they then went outside to hide as students began running out of the school freaked out. They found their spots to start changing.
"Super Friends... Find and subdue the fiend that calls themself Livewire!" Diana spoke calling the Super Friends to battle. They began looking around the halls as the lights went out and Bumblebee looked scared.
"I am pretty sure that we are entering just about every horror movie ever now..." Batgirl muttered as they heard electricity coming from the lights and then appeared was a smirking Leslie who now had dark hair in a mohawk, light blue skin and a leather jacket over a black leotard. "Livewire? I assume..." Batgirl asked going to attack but Livewire disappeared and then appeared behind her and sent a blast of electricity at her sending her back.
Supergirl tried flying at Livewire but was sent back and was sent an electrical blast as well; "Sisters and brother; keep Livewire preoccupied for now while Limelight and I shall go and find Mr Chapin to rescue." Wonder Woman ordered as she started to run with Limelight flying with her.
Zatanna summoned magical copies and sent them to Livewire while she tried to cast a spell to capture her but she disappeared as well. "If only we had a way to weaken her..." Peacemaker muttered as Batgirl was frustrated as she got out gadgets but blasts from Livewire short circuited them. He then realised and looked to Bumblebee and said "your invention from yesterday... We could use that!"
Bumblebee's eyes widened and then got out her bag and brought out the gizmo; "I will need time to get it up and running..." Bumblebee said as Peacemaker brought out his shield and shielded her as she then went to work.
"Fear not Mr Chapin; we are here to rescue you! Do not panic!" Wonder Woman said triumphantly kicking the door open and finding a bored looking Mr Chapin tied up at his chair as she and Limelight stared at him.
"I expected a little panic at least..." Limelight said as Mr Chapin scoffed.
"I used to work at Garfield High in the worst parts of this city before I got transferred here; the 100 gang openly attacked the school all the time. This is nothing new for me." Mr Chapin said simply as they continued staring at him.
Bumblebee looked nervous as she was almost done and the others were getting tired of trying to fight Livewire when she could just appear and disappear at will. "I don't know if I can do this Peacemaker... What if Livewire gets past you... I am not brave like you and the others..." Bumblebee said looking frustrated as Peacemaker looked at her softly.
"Bravery is not the absence of fear but facing it head on and you do that every time you put your suit on to join us! You know you remind me a little of me... 10 sisters and a mad dash to get our parents' attention... Feeling like the most overlooked one... Plus I dealt with a big bully myself in Royal Woods who used to torment me all the time..." Peacemaker told her as Bumblebee looked at him surprised.
Then Livewire managed to appear in front of Peacemaker sent him back and got a hold of Bumblebee and the gizmo. "This was your plan to stop me? How cute and it looks like I get to crush the weakest Super Friend..." gloated Livewire with a smirk as Bumblebee looked terrified but then looked at Peacemaker and then held her breath.
She then aimed her hand at Livewire's eyes and sent blasts at them; blinding her and causing her to drop Bumblebee and the gizmo. Bumblebee then shrank and flew as Livewire tried to furiously send blasts at her and Bumblebee then got to normal size as she caught her gizmo and then seeing that it was done: pressed it...
Livewire screamed as she felt weaker and her power being drained form her and ending up managing to run and jump through a school window to escape. "We have rescue Mr Chapin and how is Livewire?" Wonder Woman asked returning with Limelight as Peacemaker and the others had watched this happen and stared at Bumblebee.
"She escaped but got embarrassed by our own brave little Bumblebee..." beamed Batgirl as they all went up to her congratulatory as she took this in.
"I did it... I did it!" Bumblebee beamed excitedly as they shared a group hug with her.
Livewire gathered her strength as she hid and was furious at her embarassment; "You haven't seen the last of me... Haters, hecklers and critics will all soon face my wrath..." Livewire snapped as she then had her skin and hair go back to normal and then left to go home.
The students were gathered outside the school as the police had been called; "Well... Looks like we have time off from school as they fix the wiring and broken window there but Karen got to save the day there..." Jessica said as they looked at Karen and she ended up embracing Lincoln by the waist.
"I owe it to your inspiring story Lincoln to motivate me and I love my brothers but think that they are all enough for me... I think that I have room for another honorary brother..." Karen said as Lincoln was in shock but hugged her back. Karen then let go and asked "So when you stood up to your bully... Was it as satisfying as how it feels now?" Lincoln then coughed and looked nervous as their eyes were on him.
"Not exactly... My oldest sister threw a tantrum and made me go on a double date with her and her brother since they were dating but it all worked out in the end... She became one of my best friends..." Lincoln said as their eyes widened and just stared at him. "Yeah... I may have chosen to omit some details before when I was telling the story to Karen but it did help inspire her..." Lincoln then admitted sheepishly.
"Dude... I am legit lost for words no..." Kara then stated with her arms folded as Lincoln sighed as he saw that the girls nodded.
"It did work out in the end..." Lincoln then said as Kara shook her head sighing.
Made Livewire more like the original Superman TAS version while keeping her a teen like in DCSHG and the design of her mum is Leslie Willis pre-origin in that show as well.
