Blacksmith Lisbeth

I do not own Sword Art Online

In Sword Art Online by Kayaba, witty months go by as the players try to clear one hundred floors to get out to the real world, so far they have managed to clear the first and second floors and reasonably they defeat the third-floor boss so now all players can advance to the third floor.

It was a nice and beautiful day at the large lake on the third floor. Soon Xavier and Koharu arrived.

"The third floor looks pretty nice," Koharu said, looking at the view from the floor. "Kind feels nice to see a lake".

"Except it's not like the real one," Xavier said looking at the view of the lake real but just a game that caused her to frown.

"I know but at least this of good thoughts," she said as Xavier sighed before heading off and Koharu followed him.

So the two decided to level up in the field as they defeated floor monsters and gained more experience points all day. The two face off against a crab monster with Xavier dealing the first attack swinging his Anneal Blades at it, its hp bar was decreasing to the red zone and it was about to finish.

"Now Koharu, switch!" Xavier shouted, signalling her to finish it off.

"Got it!" Koharu shouted as Xavier switched with her as she charged in with her dagger. She used the skin to power up her dagger and straight stabbed the crab monster but then all of a sudden her dagger broke shocking her, the crab swung its claw causing it to fall.

Koharu looked as if the crab monster was about to kill her but Xavier came in and struck it down with his sword and it disappeared in pixelation. "You alright?" he asked, picking her up with her hand.

"Yeah, I'm fine, by my dagger" she replied, frowning as the dagger was destroyed.

"It's just a dagger," Xavier said before looking at his Anneal Blade.

"Yeah"

"Although we did gain so much experience our weapons might be worn out?" he said in concern. "I think we need better weapons."

"Yeah, but I like that dagger," Koharu complained.

"Even so. You should have swapped it for new weapons" Xavier said. "But weapons do cost a lot".

"And we just spend most of our cors on more healing potions" Koharu reminded him of how many healing potions they bought. "And with that, we broke" She sulked for spending all of the cors.

"Yeah, you're right" Xavier agrees with that. "Let's see how many we got after when we head back," he said as the two walked back, headed to the market nearby, and got a new dagger for Koharu.

"Well I'm glad I got a new dagger but if it breaks again I have to buy a new one and I can't afford it," Koharu said holding a red dagger known as the Red Light.

"Well there is one, and that is a blacksmith," Xavier replied as Koharu blinked.

"Blacksmith, as in repairing swords and many weapons?" she asked.

"Yeah, we can have our weapon increased by an NPC, but I heard players can be blacksmiths as well," Xavier said.

"Okay, then maybe we can ask her?" Koharu wondered as she looked at a girl with short brown hair, dark pink eyes, and freckles. She wears a red tunic, a white skirt, a white hairpin, banned boots, and a mantle around her shoulder. Next to her is a sign that says Lisbeth Blacksmith Shop. "Maybe we should talk to her," she suggested as Xavier wondered if it was one of those scammers.

"Hey there" Koharu greets her as that girl is surprised.

"H-hey, my name is Lisbeth! Welcome!" She introduces herself.

"Sorry to startle you, but my name is Koharu. Can you check my dagger?" she asks.

"Y-yeah sure, let me look at it" Lisbeth replied as Koharu went through her screen, pressed a button, handed her dagger, and took a closer look.

Xavier joins her and stares at this Lisbeth player. "Hmm I'm trying to know the weight of the Koharu dagger, I wonder what she can do?" He thought of this girl.

"This dagger kinda looks new?" Lisbeth points out as Koharu scratches her back head and blushes.

"Yeah, you see I kinda lost mine when we were fighting that crab monster and it broke?" She explained what happened hours ago with her dagger.

"I see?" Lisbeth said before noticing Xavier. "H-he's your boyfriend?" she asked.

This made Koharu blush. "N-no he's not a partner! That's all!" she startled waving her hands.

"Oh sorry I ask but, can I see your sword?" Lisbeth asked him for his sword.

"Okay, here" Xavier replied, scrolling down his menu as her screen popped up as she passed his sword Lisbeth examined the sword's condition. "Jeez, this sword is at its limit. Just how long have you been using it, shouldn't you have had this sword repaired a while ago?" she said.

"Well, I'd rather get a new sword, that's all" Xavier replied.

"Yeah, except they cost a lot of money to buy," Lisbeth replied. "You should find a blacksmith of your own?"

"We would, but, we don't accept one thing."

"Is it because the player scanned others for their sword to sell?" Lisbeth guessed, surprising them. "Yeah, I know that there are players scamming others to take advantage to make their weapons sell. I hate it" She frowns hearing fake blacksmith players fool others.

"Really?" Koharu said with a sad expression to hear that.

"Tell me something, did you choose to become a blacksmith?" Xavier asked her.

"Yeah," Lisbeth replied. "This is the only thing I can do since I'm gonna be stuck here forever" She frowned looking at the sky. "I miss the real world, I just play Sword Art Online for fun, but I never wanted to stay here forever," she said looking down nearby, breaking into tears.

Koharu looks sad and knows how Lisbeth feels, she grabs her hand by surprise. "It'll be alright, we'll be all back in the real world soon, even if we have to beat one hundred floors, but I will give it a shot!" she shouted.

Lisbeth was surprised. "Wait, your fight on the floor boss!?" she gasped in shock when Koharu was one of the players taking down the bosses and moving on to the next floor.

"I know I don't seem that much but I want to become stronger and will get back to the real world!" Koharu declared with tears coming out of her eyes.

Lisbeth looks at her eyes with determination and sees how serious she is making her smile before letting out a laugh. "Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" she laughs as Koharu blinks in confusion. "I'm sorry, but I thought the one beating the floor bosses was stronger!"

"I'm stronger!" Koharu shouted before Lisbeth grabbed her cheeks and played with them.

"You're strong, but you're adorable!" Lisbeth caused Koharu to pout, Xavier chuckled in silence before his partner noticed and glared at him, but maintained his acts cool. "Okay! Okay! I'll stop" she said before her laughing calms down and takes a deep breath. "Well, I can make some repairs for your sword, but your dagger, I think I can make one for you," she said.

"You can?!" Koharu shouted in shock.

"I can, but I need the material to make one for you," she replied

"Really!?"

"All I need is to get the material I need" she honestly said tilting her head down.

"Then I will go get some!"

"Yeah, but I think I should be one to get them, it costs a lot of money," she said as Koharu blinked in confusion. "I'm saying that you guys need to be blacksmiths of a high enough level and you guys aren't blacksmiths" she points out and understands her as their skill of blacksmith is low but she has. "But even if I get them I need to….go into the field," she said frightened.

"You don't have to worry, me and I can help you!" Koharu shouted, scaring Lisbeth and volunteering to help her as Xavier glared at her for dragging him into this.

As Lisbeth looks at him. "Him too?" she asked, Koharu blinked in confusion and leaned to her ear. "He kinda scares me," she whispers.

"I can hear that!" he shouted.

"Not to mention rude!" Lisbeth said sternly with her hands on her hips.

"Please, Xavier is a nice person," Koharu replied to defend him but he grumbled. "Well, sometimes, but you'll get used to him anyway" she chuckled.

"I should have been with Kirito and Asuna," Xavier sighs. "Although maybe I shouldn't be in their love quarrel".

(Elsewhere)

"Achoo!" both Asuna and Kirito sneezed while in the forest.

"Did we get caught in a cold?" she wondered.

"No fever, we should be sick in games?" he said.

(Back with them)

"Okay, let's get the material you need," Xavier said, scrolling down his menu and taking out a new sword with a red guard and handle called the Sword of Eventile he bought with his cols.

But notice Lisbeth as she looks saddened gripping her hands in fear, if she goes into a field and faces off monsters she will die right away and the Headgear will fry her brain in the real world.

"Well if you don't wanna go then we'll just find another blacksmith?" Xavier said.

"Xavier!" Koharu shouted at him.

"I mean there's no way a blacksmith could be that good, or strong," he said.

This made Lisbeth angry with what he said as if she was insulted. "Oh I get it, you think you're a strong and mighty man while I am a weakling, are you?" she asked.

"No, I'm saying you can come with us, but me and Koharu are strong, but you would just slow us down," he said harshly.

"Xavier, don't say that!" Koharu said in concern.

"Oh, you think so?" Lisbeth stands back up glaring at Xavier. "Fine I'll go with you and show you how powerful you are!" she shouted.

"Good" This got Koharu and Lisbeth dumbstruck. "Koharu and I will take care of the monsters, and you will get the last hit," he said before walking off.

"He tricked me," Lisbeth muttered.

"Sorry but don't worry you have me and Xavier" Koharu assured her but Lisbeth grumbled.

Soon Xavier, Koharu and Lisbeth came to the field fighting monsters, they helped the blacksmith girl get the material to make a new dagger for Koharu. However, Lisbeth struggles in the field but is too scared to take on monsters. If she does fail, she will die, but Xavier and Koharu are by her side, and she trusts Koharu, but not Xavier.

In the middle of the field they face off against one crab monster as Xavier and Koharu attack it first. But Lisbeth stands behind them but still feels scared if she goes for the final kill.

Soon the crab HP was nearly empty. "It's your turn!" Xavier shouted as Lisbeth heard him, understanding she grabbed her mace and quickly went over to kill it.

But when she got close to the crab she flinched and fell over to the ground, Lisbeth stood there in fear while it was about to attack her. "Ahhhh!" she screamed before Koharu rushed in and struck down the crab monster disappearing into pixelated form.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"I…" she stuttered after nearly getting her life killed. "I can't do this!" she shouted, leaving them behind. She can not take it anymore and is too scared to take one monster.

"Wait! Lisbeth!" Koharu shouted at her but was too far then she turned to Xavier. "Go talk to her!"

"Me?" he wondered, narrowing his eyes.

"Yes, you!" she pointed her finger at him. "You drag her into this, and she stares off in the field, now you have to make it up to her!" she shouted as Xavier sighed reluctantly, walked off, and looked around the field to find where she was.

Lisbeth was under a tree with her arms wrapped around her legs covering her face in fear and could take it if she went out there. Then she tilted her head up and saw Xavier standing there, she narrowed her eyes and turned away from him. "What do you want now?"

Xavier lets out a sigh before speaking. "Okay looks I'm…sorry for dragging you in this and nearly getting you killed" he apologized.

"If you're trying to get me back out there forget it," Lisbeth said and turned her body away not trying to look at him. So Xavier sat down with his back behind him.

"Okay, then if you don't wanna go out what else you should do?" he asked.

"I don't know" Lisbeth replied with tears streaming down her eyes as she was about to cry. "I don't know what to do in this world, I wanna go home" she sobbed.

"Lisbeth, I get it everyone here is trapped and they all felt the same way, but until we can clear 100 floors, I'm sorry but it's gonna take a long time to get back," Xavier said to her and face reality, Lisbeth wish she never played this game in the first place. "But still what are you going to do?" he asked again.

But Lisbeth did not reply to that question as she had no idea what to do. "Maybe ... maybe there is one way to get out of this world," she said.

Xavier turns around after hearing that and realizes that the only way of getting out is….death. He stands up then approaches Lisbeth and grabs her by forcing her to up. "Is that it, you're just gonna commit suicide, that's an idiot thing to do!" he shouted.

"L-let go!"

"No, I wanna say something to you, what you're going to do is an idiot of you especially when you're playing this first game you played! Is that it, you idiot to kill yourself!" he hollered.

"Screw you!" Lisbeth shouts back pushing him away from her. "There's no way I could make it in this world forever, I'm weak" She gritted her teeth and tears streamed down from her eyes. Unknown to them was Koharu behind a tree who was eavesdropping on their conversation as she looked and he clutched her right hand to her chest knowing how it feels to be weak. "Just face it, I am weak ... .I'll never survive in this game, ever," she said, crouching down gripping her hand on the ground and not able to bear to live anymore.

Xavier looks at her, and seeing how scared she is, he sits beside her and confronts her. "Won't make it better" Lisbeth lifted her head and looked at her. "Planning to kill yourself isn't the solution, we may be stuck in here so don't kill yourself, there are already too many people we lost after the first floor. Please think about not killing yourself, I've already seen enough deaths, just don't, I don't want you to die like the rest, or ever" he said surprised at what he said including Koharu.

"But, I'm not strong like you or Koharu," she said.

"Then don't let your fear get in the way, if you wanna go home, then survive, that's how," he said the answer.

Lisbeth looks down thinking of what he said, but lets in a thought, stands up straight and looks serious at him. "Okay," she said.

"Right, let's get back with Koharu," Xavier said.

"Okay, let's all go!" Koharu shouted, surprising them that she was there. "Sorry to scare you guys, let's give it everything we got" she encouraged them and they all agreed.

They all headed back into the field as Koharu and Xavier were facing the crab once more as they were nearly at its HP to the red line.

"Okay, Lisbeth! Now!" Xavier shouted.

Lisbeth looks at the crab monster as he glares at her. She grits her teeth still shaking in fear but remembers what Xavier said and she must survive. Her mace lits up charging from her move, Lisbeth charges in and swings a mighty blow at the crab monster face bashing it and with that, it disappears in pixelation. With that, the scene appears as he gains experience.

'Congratulations you gain exp. 35!'

"Yes!" Lisbeth shouted with excitement along with a few more materials she needed.

"You did it, Lisbeth!" Koharu hugs her congratulations.

"Yeah, let's just focus here," Xavier said, running their moment.

"Oh come on you said to keep living!" Lisbeth shouted at him as Koharu calmed her down.

Then hours go by as the three continue grinding more monsters in the field, Lisbeth is gaining more experience and the material she needs but also gaining more confidence in facing monsters, she starts gaining more confidence in fighting now than before.

"Man I think I almost got enough now," Lisbeth said checking her menu and seeing the material she finally got. "God I'm exhausted" she complained after the fighting.

"Let's take a break for a while," Koharu suggested as Lisbeth and Xavier nodded.

They all sat down to rest near the lake. Koharu took out a lot of bread to buy before heading out and adding a dash of cream.

"Let's dig in!" Koharu said, taking a bite and enjoying her bread.

"Hmm, this is good with cream on it," Lisbeth commented. "But I still don't know how we can still eat in the game?"

"Yeah, I was still wondering about that too. But I stop thinking about it" Koharu replied.

Xavier was silent while eating and checking his states and levels on his screen, increasing his sword skills. "So Xavier," Lisbeth said, now talking to him and getting his attention. "Let me tell you something, I'm sorry" she apologized. "When I met you you were kinda scary, but now, you're nice actually" she admitted to him when they first met. "Except for that dark look on your face".

Xavier lets out a sigh and closes his eyes. "I'm not very active with other people," he replied.

"So you're just a loner, but why did you end up with Koharu?" she asked.

Xavier looks down in silence before thinking of the day he met Koharu with a bright smile. But when Kayaba traps everyone in his game the only thing he sees on her face is fear and sadness. He can never forget that look of how scared she is after playing this game. "I…I" Lisbeth listens to his reason for protecting Koharu.

Koharu ever heard their conversation and wondered what the two were talking about while munching down the bread, then there was someone behind her Xavier noticed and rushed to drag his partner safe and dodged a dagger attack.

They all looked at who it was and saw a man with green skin, and long ears like the elves, wearing a bronze armour chest, helmet, black clothing and a dark blue cloak.

"W-who are you?" Koharu asked.

"Those ears are?" Xavier thought and noticed the long ears like Kizuml and the forest elves he looked at their red crystal and noticed a question mark as their name was unknown.

"You hand over the key," the green elf demanded.

"K-key…what key?" Lisbeth stuttered in fear as Xavier remembered the key Kimel gave to Koharu.

"We know you humans have the key?"

"We?" Xavier asked before more of them appeared out of nowhere as Xavier strayed to say it.

"Hand over the key to the Fallen Elves!"

"Fallen Elves?" Xavier and Koharu muttered in unison as they were also Elves like Kimzel.

"Hand it over so that we can end this world!" he demanded out loud, pointing his sword at them.

Xavier and Koharu look serious as the key they got came from Kizmel and the Dark Elves so that it will not fall into the wrong hands such as the Forest Elves, however, the Fallen Elves have never heard of them. But by the look of it, they also want the key just like the Forest Elves.

However, their bigger problem is that Lisbeth is here and is frightened, she has never seen this kind of monster before. "Lisbeth, you need to stay by me and Koharu at all costs" he whispered as they formed a circle around.

"D-do you know them?" Lisbeth asked, gripping her mace.

"I'm not sure, but I think they must be part of a campaign quest, and they want my key," Koharu explained.

"If you don't comply and hand over the key, then we will just have to take it by force!" the Fallen Elf shouted as the group charged and attacked them.

Xavier, Lisbeth, and Koharu fight back as they clash against the Fallen Elves trying to fend them off but with the number of the three, they are outmatched. Both deflected their blades while they defended Lisbeth, she struggled but was no match against this threat, she fell, and one of them was near her, standing there in horror and met her end.

Until Xavier defects one of the fallen elves' blades with his Sword of Eventile causing him to back away, Koharu helps Lisbeth by pulling her hand and standing back up to her feet.

"I…I can't"

"Don't you say that!" Koharu exclaimed startling Lisbeth but surprised Xavier while deflecting another attack. "Please don't say that, I know you're weak but I'm scared too and want to be strong so we can all return home. But no matter how much you're scared, trust me I do" she said looking down and remembering on that day she was cared for and was terrified of getting killed, but when she met Xavier helping her throughout the toughest and gained a lot stronger not just him but also Kirito, and Asuna. "But even so, I felt like I was not getting any stronger like them. I'm still weak, but I'm not letting fear get in the way, and I'm going to keep up with them and get stronger!" she shouted.

As more Fallen Elves charged in Koharu gripped her red light, she quickly dashed at them, striking all of them down, and a few more approached her, and she swung her dagger at them leaving them red marks. Then more attack her but turned around with her dagger glows using a skill Koharu, thrusts her dagger swings to the right and left, does a summersault, and charges in with pieces of one fallen elf, they all collapse and disappear in pixelation.

Xavier and Lisbeth were shocked by what she did when she did too.

"Wait, when did Koharu do that?" Xavier thought as he had never seen her doing that or ever.

Then one of the female fallen elves appears and swings her dagger to strike Koharu but she notices and deflects her attacks, they clash their dagger until they lock blades glaring at each other and backing away.

"You, I know you have the key, hand it over to the fallen elf, human!" the female fallen elf demanded pointing her dagger at Koharu.

Koharu gripped clutches her red light hearing what she demanded and remembered Kizmel. "I won't, I made a promise to Kizmel. I'm going to keep that promise and help her and the dark elves win her war!" she replied out loud.

"So you pledge your allergens to the dark elves I've seen. Then die like those miserable elves!" the female fallen elf shouted as they changed in and clashed blades once more.

Koharu uses the skill again and thrusts her red light at her, but then she freezes and wobbles as she feels her mind null and sees nothing but blank. She lets go of her dagger. "W-what going on….my mind….I feel all null all of a sudden" she muttered then collapsed to the ground with her.

"Letting your guard down is unacceptable for a warrior like you!" the fallen elf shouted, as this got her chance with her opened like that.

"Koharu!" Xavier shouted as he managed to strike down one fallen elf and rushed to save her. But three more appeared in front of him and then attacked him this angered him as they were getting in the way.

The female fallen elf approaches Koharu as she is struggling to get back up but gets kicked in the stomach collapsing down to the front and staring as she freezes. "I had to admire you bravely but now you will die!" she shouted, raising her dagger to kill her.

"No!" Xavier shouted and tried to save but would never make it in time.

That is until someone appeared behind the fallen elf as Lisbeth gripped her mace and swung it, she noticed and swung her dagger at her. But when Lisbeth swings her mace, she breaks through the female fallen elf dagger and bashes her in the stomach sending her far away from them.

"Koharu!" Lisbeth kneels and checks on her. "Are you okay? What happened?"

"I…I don't know, I felt my mind go numb, I don't know what happened" Koharu replied and had no idea why she froze her body like that.

The female fallen elf was looking at them and gritted her teeth. "Rrh, you inferior human. Don't get in my way!" she growled in rage, before getting back up, rushed over to them with a new dagger and was about to finish them off.

But then someone deflected with a shield revealing to be Kizmel and she swung her left arm forcing the female fallen elf to back away.

"A dark elf!" she glares at Kizmel before she notices more of them fighting her group and outnumbering them, helping Xavier's group. "So you side with those humans!"

"These humans are more than you expected. And they're going to help us win this war!" Kizmel said, pointing her sword at her, then charged, swinging it downwards.

But the female fallen elf dodges her attacks and then runs away from the dark elf. "Your kind and the forest elves, this war victor is the fallen elves!" she shouted before she and her group disappeared. "Until we meet again dark elves and humans scum!" her voice shouted as they left.

The group lets off their breath of relief as the fight is over with the fallen elves retreated, Lisbeth is relieved at surviving this fight. It was terrifying but when Koharu was in danger she had to get in there and save her.

"Koharu? Are you okay?" Lisbeth asked.

"Y-yeah, I thought I was gonna die" Koharu replied before getting a hug from her causing Lisbeth to blush. "Thank you for saving me back there, you were so brave" she thanked him.

"Y-yeah it was no biggie" the pink-haired player replied. "I don't know why I did but when I saw you about to die, I just couldn't stay there" she explained her reason.

"You would have got yourself killed!" They heard and noticed Xavier approaching who looked angry.

"Okay, I know you're angry but I just stay there and watch you and Koharu die! Because I want you guys to survive and see you again!" Lisbeth shouted at him. Xavier approaches her as she wonders what he is going to do next. "Thanks ... .for saving Koharu, I wouldn't forgive myself for seeing her die" he thanked the unexpected Lisbeth, making her smile.

"Well, you're welcome to you," she replied. "You know, you are not so bad yourself, as long as he drops that dark look on your face!" This causes Xavier to glare at him but Lisbeth laughs a bit.

Then they notice Kizmel approach them "Xavier, Koharu are you two okay?" she asked.

"Are those really elves?" Lisbeth asked in Koharu's ear.

"We're fine Kizmel," Xavier replied. "So can you tell us who they were?" he asked.

"I'm sorry that we were late but we were in a skirmish against the forest elves, but then the fallen elves" Kizmel replied and bowed down to apologize for not being there sooner.

"Fallen elves?" Koharu repeated the last word and remembered what one of them demanded.

"Yes, there are three sides, the dark elves, the forest elves, and the fallen elves"

"So there are three races of your kind?" Xavier asked as Kizmel nodded. "Fallen elves huh" he muttered wondering of them.

Soon after they returned to Lisbeth's spot, she got to work on making Koharu weapons and hammering down the heated metal fogging the blade on the avail working hard to make it. Koharu and Xavier watch her work and see how a real blacksmith makes a weapon like that.

Soon Lisbeth was finished as she showed Koharu a dagger with a silver blade, gold guard, a black handle and a gold ring at the bottom.

"Here, this is the Cross Knife, a special dagger that can purify evil," Lisbeth said what the dagger is called. "A weapon for you Koharu?"

"Thank Lisbeth!" Koharu said excited to hold her new weapon.

"Kay, now it's your turn," Lisbeth said, taking his Anneal Blade and starting to forge it. "So, Xavier, can I tell you something?" he listened to what she was about to say. "Look I'm sorry how I acted, I know we're going to be stuck here in this game, but you were right, it's not worth killing myself. I guess the only way out is to clear one hundred floors" she said then looked sad. "But can you really beat one hundred floors like that?"

"Well, I can't say, but every player taking on the boss battle will do everything to beat them all and go home" Xavier replied to the blacksmith. "Who knows, maybe you'll end up with the strongest player who probably uses a weapon you made," he said.

This made Lisbeth smile at what he said. "Yeah, that could happen one day," Lisbeth said before finishing his sword. "Here you go, that'll be 500 cols," she said.

Xavier blinks for a moment in silence. "What! You're charging me!" he shouted.

"For calling me an idiot, also Koharu is nice and you look dark" Lisbeth replied her reason.

"Oh come on, I convinced you to live on!"

"Yeah, but that was a little harsh to say to a girl like me" Lisbeth smirked at him.

"WHY YOU LITTLE!" Xavier exclaimed, gritting his teeth, eyes glowing red and aura surrounded him before Koharu stopped him holding down her partner. And so he decides to pay Lisbeth for repair; they both walk as Lisbeth waves at them.

"See you next time guys!" Lisbeth shouted waving goodbye at the.

"Yeah, we'll meet again!" Koharu replied back at her before walking to Xavier who looked frowning.

"I can't believe she took all of my savings for a repair sword" he complained looking at his menu screen and seeing he was nearly empty on cols.

"At least you help Lizbeth to keep living. But don't worry I'll get more money by beating more monsters!" Koharu encourages him.

"Great…"
