Menhir Trail
At the Cyllage City Pokemon Center, Nazz was giving the nurse her Pokemon after their battles at the Battle Chateau. Jonny was at the PokeMart, asking the clerk about the silvery powder he found. The clerk explans to Jonny that the powder was Silver Powder, which can power up the bug type attacks of the Pokemon that holds it. Jonny decides to give the Silver Powder to his Ninjask. He lets Ninjask out of his Pokemon and gives him the Silver Powder. The gang then goes to the cafeteria for dinner. After that, Nazz gets her Pokemon back from the nurse. The group then showered, brushed their teeth, went to bed, and fell asleep. In another room, Charlotte was putting a black sheet around the bottom bunk, covering it. She climbs into bed, not knowing Nazz was in the room next to hers. The next morning, the group had breakfast. The group then exit the Pokemon Center while Charlotte just walked out of her room. The group then travel north up Cyllage City and entered Route 10, also known as Menhir Trail.
"So, what do you think the next gym will be like, guys?" asked Jonny.
"No clue, man." said Kevin.
"I guess we'll just have to wait until we get there to find out." said Nazz. The group began travelling through Route 10. As they did, Nazz sees a field of yellow flowers and runs around it. "Check out these flowers, you guys." A swarm of red, dragonfly-like Pokemon with green heads suddenly fly out of the flowers. "What are these Pokemon?" She takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Yanma, the Clear Wing Pokemon. If it flaps its wings really fast, it can generate shock waves that will shatter windows in the area." said the pokedex. The Yanmas fly towards the group. Jonny looks at Plank.
"Plank thinks they want to battle us!" said Jonny.
"Rolf never backs down from a challenge!" said Rolf, pulling a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Me neither." said Kevin, pulling a pokeball out of his pocket. Jonny and Nazz pull pokeballs out of their pockets.
"Charmeleon, go!" said Jonny, throwing Charmeleon's pokeball and releasing him.
"Fletchinder, you're up, man!" said Kevin, throwing Fletchinder's pokeball and releasing him.
"Pidgeotto, assist Rolf!" said Rolf, throwing Pidgeotto's pokeball and releasing her.
"Litleo, let's go!" said Nazz, throwing Litleo's pokeball and releasing her. The Yanmas fly at the group's Pokemon with incredible speed and rams them, knocking them back.
"Plank says that was Quick Attack!" said Jonny. "Okay, Charmeleon, Ember!" Charmeleon unleashes bits of fire from his mouth and hits one of the Yanmas, dealing super effective damage due to bug type Pokemon being weak against fire type moves.
"Fletchinder, you use Ember too!" said Kevin. Fletchinder opens his beak and releases bits of fire from it and it hits another Yanma, dealing super effective damage.
"Pidgeotto, Gust!" said Rolf. Pidgeotto flaps her wings and releases a strong wind from them, and it hits a Yanma, dealing super effective damage.
"Litleo, Fire Fang!" said Nazz. Litleo leaps at a Yanma while her mouth was covered in fire and bites Yanma, dealing super effective damage to it. Some of the Yanma flew away while the one Litleo fought was on the ground, struggling to get up. Nazz pulls an empty pokeball out of her pocket and throws it at Yanma, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggled around a few times, the pokeball clicks, indicating Yanma's capture. "Awesome! I caught a Yanma!"
"Way to go, Nazz!" said Kevin. Yanma's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage. Nazz takes out the pokedex and uses it to look up Yanma's information.
"Okay, like, Yanma's a girl, she knows Tackle, Foresight, and Quick Attack." said Nazz. "She has the Speed Boost ability like Jonny's Ninjask does."
"That ability that increases a Pokemon's speed?" asked Kevin.
"Yeah." said Nazz. The group took the time to train their Pokemon to be more prepared for their next gym battles and they got stronger.
Jonny's Charmeleon learned Fire Fang and his Ninjask learned Swords Dance.
Rolf's Braixen learned Lucky Chant, his Diggersby learned Odor Sleuth, his Pidgeotto learned Feather Dance, his Beedrill learned Toxic Spikes and Pin Missile, his Wartortle learned Water Pulse, and his Skiddo learned Bulldoze.
Kevin's Frogadier learned Fling, his Fletchinder learned Roost and Razor Wind, and his Ivysaur learned Growth.
Nazz's Floette learned Grassy Terrain, her Farfetch'd learned Swords Dance, her Litleo learned Endeavor, and her Kirlia learned Heal Pulse. Jonny's Linoone and Rolf's Diggersby each found a Great Ball with their Pickup ability. As they continued travelling, Kevin hears rustling coming from grass. He looks to see a bipedal Pokemon of two shades of blue with two brown bands crisscrossing across its torso walking out of the grass.
"Hey, Nazz, what's this Pokemon?" asked Kevin. Nazz takes the pokedex out of her backpack and points it at the Pokemon.
"Golett, the Automoton Pokemon. Ancient science fashioned this Pokémon from clay. It's been active for thousands of years." said the pokedex. Kevin looks at the Golett.
"Looks like a strong Pokemon to me." said Kevin as he pulls a pokeball out of his pocket. "I'm going to catch it. Frogadier, you're up!" He throws Frogadier's pokeball and releases him. "Okay, Frogadier, Water Pulse!" Frogadier forms a blue ball of water in his hands, and he launches it at Golett, hitting it and dealing super effective damage to it. Golett's right hand becomes surrounded by purple and black energy. It throws its fist forward and a fist made up of energy comes forward and punches Frogadier, knocking him back. "Frogadier, Bubble!" Frogadier releases bubbles from his mouth and they hit Golett, dealing super effective damage. Golett drops to its hands and knees. Kevin takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Golett, hitting it and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggled around a few times until it clicks, indicating Golett's capture. "Radical! I caught Golett!" Nazz uses the pokedex to learn more about Kevin's new Golett.
"Okay, Golett has no gender, it's part ghost and part ground, it knows Pound, Astonish, Defense Curl, Mud-Slap, Rollout, Shadow Punch, and Iron Defense." said Nazz. "It has the Iron Fist ability, which makes its punching moves stronger."
"Awesome." said Kevin. He takes a mental note to exchange his Golett for Pansear when they reach Geosenge Town. Kevin returns Frogadier to his pokeball and the group continues travelling. They soon reached an area that had tall rocks that were lined up neatly together.
"What is with these rocks?" asked Rolf.
"No clue, man." said Kevin and they continued travelling. As they did, a man in Team Flare attire walks out from behind a tall rock and spots them.
"I remember you! You're the ones who foiled our fossil-finding plans!" said the Team Flare member.
"It's this dork again!" said Kevin.
"And now you're here, standing near these stones." said the Team Flare member. "Do you even know what they are?"
"No, do you?" asked Nazz.
"Uh, I don't remember." replied the Team Flare member.
"Dork." muttered Kevin.
"Doesn't matter! Now's the time for some sweet revenge...with style." said the Team Flare member as he pulls out a pokeball. Rolf runs in front of the Team Flare member.
"Rolf will battle you!" said Rolf as he pulls out a pokeball. "Diggersby, assist Rolf!" He throws Diggersby's pokeball and releases him.
"Houndour, go!" said the Team Flare member, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Houndour.
"Diggersby, Mud Shot!" said Rolf. Diggersby fires multiple globs of mud from his mouth, and they hit Houndour, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"No way!" said the Team Flare member.
"Way to go, Rolf!" said Jonny.
"That training really paid off." said Kevin. The Team Flare member returned Houndour to its pokeball and puts it in his pocket. He then pulls another pokeball out of his pocket.
"Go, Golbat!" said the Team Flare member, throwing the pokeball and releasing a large, blue, bat-like Pokemon.
"Looks like that dude's Zubat evolved." said Nazz as she points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Golbat, the Bat Pokemon and the evolved form of Zubat. Once it starts sucking blood, it does not stop until it is full. It flies at night in search of prey." said the pokedex. Diggersby and Golbat glare at each other.
"Diggersby, Leer!" said Rolf. Diggersby glares at Golbat and his eyes glow blue, weakening Golbat's defense.
"Golbat, Wing Attack!" said the Team Flare member. Golbat flies at Diggersby and strikes him with one of its wings, knocking him back.
"Diggersby, Take Down!" said Rolf. Diggersby charges at Golbat and rams it, knocking it to the ground with swirly eyes.
"I don't believe it!" said the Team Flare member. Diggersby flinches in pain from the recoil damage from Take Down. The Team Flare member returns Golbat to its pokeball. "How can I lose to you!" He then gives Rolf pokedollars. They suddenly hear a chime sound coming from one of the Team Flare member's pockets. He turns and pulls something out of his pocket. He was heard talking into it. "I see...roger that." He turns towards the group and holds up a small orange device with a monitor on it. "Gotta love the Holo Caster. I can get updates on my mission in real time with this stylish device. Whoever thought this thing up must have been one stylish individual too. It's time for me to scram...with style." He turns and runs away.
"That's scramming with style?" asked Nazz.
"At least he's scramming." said Kevin. "Come on, let's get going. I just hope there aren't any more of those Team Flare dorks around here." Unfortunately for Kevin, as they continued travelling, they encountered a female Team Flare member, who challenged them to a battle, which Jonny accepted. He and the Team Flare member each pull out a pokeball.
"Go, Electrike!" said the Team Flare woman, throwing a pokeball and releasing an Electrike.
"Go, Sandile!" said Jonny as he throws Sandile's pokeball and releases her.
"Electrike, Quick Attack!" said the Team Flare woman. Electrike charges at Sandile with incredible speed and rams her, knocking her back.
"Sandile, Mud-Slap!" said Jonny. Sandile releases a stream of mud from her mouth, and it hits Electrike, dealing super effective damage and lowering its accuracy.
"Electrike, Howl!" said the Team Flare member. Electrike lets out a loud howl and its body and its attack strength increases.
"Sandile, Bite!" said Jonny. Sandile walks over to Electrike and bites it, making it flinch. "Now use Sand Tomb!" Sandile's eyes glow blue and a cyclone of sand appears around Electrike and deals super effective damage to it, knocking it out. "Way to go, Sandile!" Sandile begins surging with energy and its attack strength increases from her Moxie ability. The Team Flare woman returns Electrike to its pokeball. The Team Flare member puts Electrike's pokeball away and pulls out another one.
"Go, Croagunk!" said the Team Flare member, throwing the pokeball and releasing a Croagunk.
"Use Sand Attack!" said Jonny. Sandile turns around and smacks sand into Croagunk's eyes with her tail, lowering its accuracy.
"Use Revenge!" said the Team Flare member. Croagunk becomes surrounded by orange energy and releases a beam of it and it hits Sandile, dealing super effective damage due to fighting type moves being strong against dark type Pokemon.
"Hang in there, Sandile! Use Mud-Slap!" said Jonny. Sandile releases a stream of mud from her mouth and it hits Croagunk, dealing super effective damage and lowering Croagunk's accuracy even further.
"Revenge!" said the Team Flare member. Croagunk releases another beam of orange energy at Sandile. Fortunately for Sandile, due to Croagunk's accuracy was so severely lowered by Sand Attack and Mud-Slap that it missed.
"Sand Tomb!" said Jonny. Sandile creates another sand cyclone around Croagunk and deals super effective damage, knocking it out. "Great work, Sandile!" The Team Flare member returns Croagunk to its pokeball, throws pokedollars at Jonny's feet, and runs away. Jonny returns Sandile to her pokeball and the group continued travelling. Kevin was using his Dowsing Machine to look for items and found a Burn Heal and a Paralyze Heal. Minutes later, Nazz's Kirlia was facing a Team Flare woman's Gulpin.
"Kirlia, use Confusion!" said Nazz. Kirlia's eyes glowed purple and Gulpin gets thrown back and hits the ground, being dealt super effective damage.
"Gulpin, Sludge!" said the Team Flare member. Gulpin spits a purple glob of sludge towards Kirlia.
"Kirlia, Teleport!" said Nazz. Kirlia glows white and vanishes, making Sludge miss. "Now use Tackle!" Kirlia appears several feet from Gulpin's side, and she rams it, knocking it to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Gulpin, no!" exclaimed the female Team Flare member.
"Way to go, Kirlia!" said Nazz. Kirlia does a curtsey. The Team Flare member returned Gulpin to its pokeball.
"This isn't over!" exclaimed the Team Flare member as she throws pokedollars at Nazz's feet and runs away. Nazz picks the pokedollars up from the ground.
"I hope that's the last of those dorks." said Kevin.
"Let's get going." said Jonny. Nazz returns Kirlia to her pokeball and they continued to walk up the trail. They soon arrived at their destination: Geosenge Town.
