Final Confrontation with Team Flare
Kevin and his friends enter the double doors and immediately a large machine with many cables coming out from the top of it; on the machine was some sort of unidentifiable dark gray object.
"Is this the ultimate weapon that's gonna wipe out Kalos?" asked Jonny.
"Don't know, dude." said Kevin.
"What do we do, Kev?" asked Nazz.
"Rolf needs his hammer." said Rolf.
"Don't know if a hammer's gonna cut it, dude." said Kevin. Just then, the lights go out for a second before coming back on, showing several Team Flare admins standing between the group and the machine.
"What goes on here is none of your business, kids." said a Team Flare admin.
"The ultimate weapon has taken ninety nine percent of the legendary Pokemon's energy." said another Team Flare admin.
"Legendary Pokemon? Is that's what on top of that machine?" asked Nazz, pointing at the gray object on top of the machine behind the admins.
"Exactly." replied a Team Flare admin.
"And we'll take you runts down to stop you from interfering." said a male Team Flare admin.
"Yeah right, dork!" said Kevin.
"Rolf will take this villian down." said Rolf as he steps forward and hikes his pants up.
"Get him, Rolf!" said Jonny. The Team Flare admin steps forward, pulls out a pokeball, and throws it, releasing a Liepard. Rolf takes out a pokeball from his pocket and throws it, releasing his Gogoat.
"Liepard, use Fake Out!" said the Team Flare admin. The Liepard quickly moves at Gogoat and stops a few centimeters from his face, startling him, and making him fall to the floor and flinch. "Now use Fury Swipes!" The Liepard then hits Gogoat with a flurry of slashes from its paws.
"Gogoat, use Rock Smash!" said Rolf. Gogat charges at the Liepard and slams his head down onto its back, doing super effective damage, and lowering its defense.
"Purrloin, use Assurance!" said the Team Flare admin. Purrloin runs at Gogoat and thrust its claws into him, doing more damage because it took a recent hit.
"Gogoat, use Seed Bomb!" said Rolf. Large seeds shoot out of Gogoat's leaf mane and hit Liepard, then explode on contact.
"Liepard, use Night Slash!" said the Team Flare admin. Liepard leaps at Gogoat with one of its front paws coated in dark energy and slashes him across his chest.
"Gogoat, use Double Edge!" said Rolf. Gogoat charges recklessly at the Liepard and rams into it, doing enough damage to knock it out; he also flinches from the recoil damage. "I am sorry, Gogoat. Rolf understands why the stinky Ed boy doesn't like using moves like that."
"This isn't over!" said the Team Flare admin as he returns his Liepard to its pokeball, puts that in his pocket, then pulls out another one; he throws it, releasing a Manectric. Rolf decides to return Gogoat to his pokeball, deciding he needed a rest. He then pulls out another pokeball and throws it, releasing his Diggersby.
"Diggersby, use Mud Shot!" said Rolf. Diggersby flings a large glob of mud at the Manectric, hitting it, doing super effective damage, and making its feet stick to the floor, reducing its speed.
"Manectric, use Bite!" said the Team Flare admin. Manectric moves at Diggersby and bites down on one of his ears.
"Diggersby, use Dig!" said Rolf. Diggersby tunnels into the floor.
"Manectric, use Howl!" said the Team Flare admin. Manectric howls to psyche itself up and increases his attack strength. Suddenly, Diggersby pops up out of the floor and slams into the underside of Manectric's jaw, doing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Rolf is the winner!" said Rolf. The Team Flare admin growls as he returns his Manectric to its pokeball, tosses pokedollars to Rolf, and runs out of the room.
Jonny steps forward while pulling out a pokeball from his pocket while another Team Flare admin does the same. Jonny tosses his pokeball, releasing his Clawitzer while the Team Flare admin tosses a pokeball, releasing a Swalot.
"Clawitzer, Swords Dance!" said Jonny. Glowing blue swords appeared around Clawitzer and his attack strength increases.
"Swalot, Body Slam!" said the Team Flare admin. Swalot jumps at Clawitzer and lands on him, damaging him.
"Clawitzer, Crabhammer!" said Jonny. Clawitzer raises his large pincer and smashes it onto Swalot, dealing damage to it.
"Swalot, use Sludge!" said the Team Flare admin. Swalot sprays black sludge from its mouth, and it hits Clawitzer, damaging him.
"Water Pulse!" said Jonny. Clawitzer opens his large pincer towards Swalot; a ball of blue water forms in it and he launches it at Swalot, hitting it. Swalot begins stumbling around. "Looks like Swalot's confused."
"Swalot, Body Slam!" said the Team Flare admin. Swalot jumps up and plummet down, but it crashes onto the floor, knocking itself out.
"Great job, Clawitzer!" said Jonny. Clawitzer raises his large pincer in victory. The Team Flare member returns Swalot to its pokeball, tosses pokedollars at Jonny, then leaves the room.
"I'll take the next one." said Nazz, stepping forward; another Team Flare member steps forward, pulling out a pokeball.
"Mightyena, go!" said the Team Flare admin, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Mightyena.
"Farfetch'd, go!" said Nazz, throwing Farfetch'd's pokeball and releasing him. "Farfetch'd, use Swords Dance!" Farfetch'd jumps up and spins around, increasing his attack strength.
"Mightyena, Howl!" said the Team Flare admin. Mightyena lets out a howl and raises its own attack strength.
"Farfetch'd, use Fury Cutter!" said Nazz. Farfetch'd runs at Mightyena and slashes it with his leek, dealing super effective damage.
"Mightyena, Assurance!" said the Team Flare member. Mightyena runs at Farfetch'd and rams him, knocking him back.
"Fury Cutter once more!" said Nazz. Farfetch'd runs at Mightyena and slashes it, dealing more damage than the previous Fury Cutter, knocking Mightyena out. "Great job, Farfetch!" Farfetch's marches around, waving his leek around. The Team Flare admin returns Mightyena to its pokeball, then pulls out another one.
"Houndoom, go!" said the Team Flare admin, throwing a pokeball, releasing a Houndoom. "Houndoom, Fire Fang!" Houndoom's fangs become surrounded by fire; it runs at Farfetch'd and bites his wing, damaging him.
"Air Cutter, Farfetch'd!" said Nazz. Farfetch'd flaps his wings, releasing a blue, x shaped wave of energy at Houndoom, and hitting it.
"Use Foul Play!" said the Team Flare admin. Houndoom grabs Farfetch'd with its mouth and throws him onto the ground.
"Use Aerial Ace!" Farfetch'd flies at Houndoom while white streaks of light surround his body and rams Houndoom.
"Houndoom, Feint Attack!" said the Team Flare admin. Houndoom jumps to the left and disappears; it reappears next to Farfetch'd and rams him, knocking him to the ground; he gets back up.
"Use Slash!" said Nazz. Farfetch'd flies at Houndoom and slashes it with his leek, knocking it out. "You did it, Farfetch'd!" The Team Flare admin returns Houndoom to its pokeball, throws pokedollars at Nazz, then runs out of the room.
Another Team Flare admin steps up and takes a pokeball out of his pocket.
"We won't let you kids ruin our plans!" said the Team Flare admin as he tosses his pokeball, releasing a Golbat.
"I got this." said Kevin. He takes out his Greninja's pokeball and throws it, releasing him. "Okay, dude; use Smack Down!" Greninja picks up a chunk of rock off the floor that was from Diggersby's digging, leaps up to the Golbat, and slams the rock onto Golbat's head, doing super effective damage, and sends it crashing to the floor.
"Golbat, use Poison Fang!" said the Team Flare admin. The Golbat flies at Greninja while its fangs are coated in poison and bites down on him; Greninja suddenly started to look ill.
"Greninja's poisoned, Kevin!" said Nazz.
"A little poison won't stop my pal!" said Kevin. Greninja uses his sheer willpower to force the poison out of his body.
"Impossible!" said the Team Flare admin.
"Keep telling yourself that, dork!" said Kevin. "Greninja, use Surf!" Greninja summons up a large wave of water and rides it at the Golbat, slamming into it, and knocking it out.
"NOOOOO!" shouts the Team Flare admin.
"Good job, Kevin!" said Nazz.
"I'm out of here!" said the Team Flare admin as he returns his Golbat to its pokeball, tosses pokedollars at Kevin, and flees the room.
"What a dork." said Kevin. He and the other look at the machine.
"What do we do now?" asked Nazz. They suddenly hear a sound coming from the gray object coming from the machine; they look to see the object shaking and red lights were coming out of it.
"What's happening?" asked Jonny. The gray object was staring to shine brightly, causing the group to cover their eyes; when they felt the light was gone, they uncovered their eyes. They look at the top of the machine to see a red and black Pokemon that looked like a bird and dragon combined on top of the machine.
"What is that?" asked Nazz, pointing the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Yveltal, the Destruction Pokemon. When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more." said the pokedex.
"Isn't that the Pokemon Professor Sycamore told us about?" asked Jonny.
"I think so." replied Kevin. Yveltal looks down at Rolf's Diggersby and fires black and purple rings of energy at him, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Diggersby!" exclaimed Rolf.
"What's your deal?!" Nazz asked Yveltal. It looks at Nazz's Farfetch'd and creates a violet sphere of energy with blue electricity in it; it fires it as a beam and it hits Farfetch'd, hitting him, and knocking him out. "That was so not cool!"
"Clawitzer, use Aura Sphere!" said Jonny. Clawitzer aims his large pincer at Yveltal and forms a blue sphere in it; he launches it at Yveltal, but it smacks it aside with its wing. It spreads its wings and flaps them, releasing circular blades of wind at him, hitting him, and knocking him out. "Clawitzer!"
"Man, we got to stop that Pokemon!" said Kevin.
"But how?" asked Nazz. Kevin suddenly thought of something; he reaches into his backpack and pulls out his Master Ball he got at the Pokeball Factory; he throws it at Yveltal and hits it. It gets sucked into the Master Ball and it lands on Kevin's hand. He watches as it moves around until it clicks. Kevin looks in awe at the Master Ball.
"Whoa. I just caught Yveltal." said Kevin. The Master Ball vanishes from Kevin's hand and is transported to storage.
"Way to go, Kevin; without Yveltal, Team Flare can't use the ultimate weapon now." said Nazz. She returns Farfetch'd to his pokeball, while Jonny returned Clawitzer to his, and Rolf returned Diggersby to his.
"No! You brats ruined everything!" The group look to see Lysandre, now wearing orange striped glasses, a brown bracer on his right arm, and a large, backpack-like contraption on his hand that had insect-like contraptions attached by a wire. "I'll find where Yveltal and reclaim it, then I'll use the ultimate weapon; but first, I'll take care of you children." He holds up his left arm, revealing a Mega Ring and Key Stone.
"No way! He has a Mega Ring too?!" exclaimed Kevin.
"Yes, and this time, I won't lose." said Lysandre as he pulls out four pokeballs; he tosses them, releasing Mienshao, Pyroar, Honchkrow, and Gyarados.
"Let's end this!" said Kevin as he and the others each pull out a pokeball. Kevin tosses his, releasing his Venusaur, Jonny tosses his, releasing his Charizard, Rolf tosses his, releasing his Blastoise, and Nazz tosses her, releasing her Gardevoir.
Kevin's Venusaur faced Gyarados, Jonny's Charizard faced Honchkrow, Rolf's Blastoise faced Pyroar, and Nazz's Gardevoir faced Mienshao. Kevin, Jonny, Rolf, and Nazz looked at each other and nodded; they pushed the Key Stones on their Mega Rings and Mega Evolved their Pokemon.
"Mienshao, use Fake Out!" said Lysandre. Mienshao runs at Mega Gardevoir and stops a foot away from her; it then claps its arms together, releasing a shockwave that hits Mega Gardevoir, making her flinch. "Now use Swift!" Mienshao jumps up and spreads its arms; stars form around they and it launches them at Mega Gardevoir, hitting her.
"Mega Gardevoir, use Psychic!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir's eyes glowed blue; glowing blue shockwaves come towards Mienshao and hits it, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Mienshao, use Double Slap!" said Lysandre. Mienshao runs at Mega Gardevoir and slaps her several times with its arm.
"Mega Gardevoir, Moonblast!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir holds out her arms and forms a pink ball of energy in front of them; she launches it at Mienshao and it hits it, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Mienshao, Hyper Beam!" said Lysandre. Mienshao holds out her arms and fires an orange beam of energy at Mega Gardevoir.
"Teleport!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir turns into white light, and she vanishes before Hyper Beam can reach her and it hits the floor; Mega Gardevoir reappears in front of Mienshao. "Too bad a Pokemon using Hyper Beam has to recharge after using it; okay, Mega Gardevoir, use Tackle!" Mega Gardevoir leaps at Mienshao and rams her; because of Mega Gardevoir's Pixilate ability, her Tackle attack was stronger than it originally was, and it was turned into a fairy type move, it dealt super effective damage to Mienshao, knocking it out. "Great job, Mega Gardevoir." Mega Gardevoir nods in response.
With Jonny, his Mega Charizard was facing Lysandre's Honchkrow, both flying in mid-air; Mega Charizard's Drought ability activated, filling the room with bright sunlight and powering up Mega Charizard's fire attacks.
"Honchkrow, Sucker Punch!" said Lysandre. Honchkrow flies at Mega Charizard and strikes him with its wing.
"Mega Charizard, Flame Burst!" said Jonny. Mega Charizard fires an orange yellow fireball out of his mouth, and it hits Honchkrow, dealing damage.
"Honchkrow, Wing Attack!" said Lysandre. Honchkrow flies at Mega Charizard and strikes him with its wing, knocking him back.
"Mega Charizard, Fire Fang!" said Jonny. Mega Charizard's fangs were covered in fire; he flies at Honchkrow and bites its wing, damaging him. Fire suddenly covered Honchkrow's body and its attack strength weakens.
"Honchkrow, Payback!" said Lysandre. Black streams of energy come out of Honchkrow's body, and they hit Mega Charizard, damaging him.
"All right, Mega Charizard, use Slash!" said Jonny. Mega Charizard flies at Honchkrow and slashes it with his claws, damaging it.
"Honchkrow, Foul Play!" said Lysandre. Honchkrow flies at Mega Charizard.
"Smokescreen!" said Jonny. Mega Charizard releases a black smoke from his mouth, and it surrounds the area; Honchkrow flies into the smoke but didn't hit Mega Charizard. As Honchkrow was looking around, Charizard appeared behind it.
"Flame Burst!" said Jonny. Mega Charizard launches another fireball from his mouth, and it hits Honchkrow in the back, sending it flying into the ground, unconscious. "You did it, Mega Charizard!" Mega Charizard roars in victory.
With Rolf, he and Mega Blastoise were facing off against Lysandre's Pyroar.
"Pyroar, use Noble Roar!" said Lysandre. Pyroar lets out a mighty roar, weakening the attack strengths of Mega Blastoise.
"Mega Blastoise, use Water Pulse!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise aims his shell cannon at Pyroar and fires a pulsing blast of water at it, landing a hit, and doing super effective damage; Pyroar starts to stagger around.
"Pyroar's confused now, dude!" said Kevin.
"Pyroar, use Wild Charge!" said Lysandre. Pyroar's body becomes coated in electricity, and it charges at Mega Blastoise, ramming into him, doing super effective damage, along with recoil damage to itself.
"Mega Blastoise, use Surf!" said Rolf. Mega Blastoise uses all three of his cannons to make a massive wave of water which he rides towards the Pyroar, slamming into it with enough force to knock it out. "You have won, Mega Blastoise!" Mega Blastoise yells in triumph. Lysandre was looking right at Kevin and his Mega Venusaur.
"I may be down to one last Pokemon, but it's all I need!" said Lysandre as he touches his Key Stone, causing his Gyarados to Mega Evolve into a larger version of itself, with black underbelly, red spots going alongside its body, and a massive fin on its back.
"Dude." said Kevin. "We need to be at the top of our game if we want to win." Mega Venusaur nods in response.
"Mega Gyarados, use Ice Fang!" said Lysandre. Mega Gyarados's fangs become coated in ice as it bites down on Mega Venusaur, doing super effective damage.
"Mega Venusuar has the Thick Fat ability!" said Kevin. "Ice and Fire moves won't do as much damage to him as they normally would've."
"That won't matter against my Pokemon's power!" said Lysandre.
"Mega Venusaur, use Leech Seed!" said Kevin. Mega Venusaur launches seeds from the large flower on his back which hit Mega Gyarados, then sprout vines that wrap around its body; suddenly, a bit of Mega Gyarados's stamina is drained from it and is transferred to Mega Venusaur which restores some of his strength.
"Insolent child!" said Lysandre. "Mega Gyarados, use Hyper Beam!" Mega Gyarados opens its mouth and fires off a large beam of energy at Mega Venusaur.
"Try dodging it!" shouts Kevin. Mega Venusaur rolls to the side, dodging the attack, but the explosion it caused after hitting a wall sends him flying into another one. More stamina is taken from Mega Gyarados and is used to heal Mega Venusaur some more. "Now use Take Down!" Mega Venusaur charges at Mega Gyarados and rams its belly, doing damage to it, along with recoil damage to himself.
"Don't give up, Kevin!" said Nazz.
"Take him down!" said Jonny.
"We are with you, friend Kevin!" said Rolf.
"Mega Venusaur, use Synthesis while Mega Gyarados is recharging!" said Kevin. Mega Venusaur takes in some light from the room and heals himself.
"Mega Gyarados, use Ice Fang again!" said Lysandre. Mega Gyarados bites down on Mega Venusaur again, doing super effective damage; more stamina is drained from it and heals Mega Venusaur some more.
"Mega Venusaur, use Seed Bomb!" said Kevin. Mega Venusaur launches large seeds from his back flower, and they hit Mega Gyarados, doing damage.
"Why won't you give up?!" asked Lysandre.
"Because we're too stubborn to!" said Kevin.
"You will bow before me!" said Lysandre. "Mega Gyarados, use Twister!" Mega Gyarados summons up a small tornado from the floor and it hits Mega Venusaur, doing damage. Suddenly, more stamina is taken from Mega Gyarados and it heals Mega Venusaur some more.
"Mega Venusaur, use Double Edge!" said Kevin. Mega Venusaur charges at Mega Gyarados and slams into it, sending it flying into a wall where it reverts back to its normal state and passes out while he takes recoil damage from the attack.
"Kevin won!" cheered Nazz.
"Right on!" cheered Jonny.
"We are victorious!" said Rolf. Mega Venusaur reverts back to his normal state and collapsed from exhaustion as Kevin runs over to him and hugs him.
"You were awesome, man!" said Kevin. Venusaur looks at Kevin and smiles. Lysandre returns Gyarados to its pokeball and tosses pokedollars at Kevin; he pulls off his glasses and throws them onto the floor.
"It's over. Fools with no vision will continue to befoul this beautiful world." said Lysandre. "They will go on until the only thing left to do is squabble over the remaining scraps of hope."
"Yveltel is gone now, so you can't use the ultimate weapon anymore." said Nazz. Jonny puts his ear near Plank's mouth.
"Plank says you don't have to worry about the future anymore." said Jonny. "He said if people work together, they can make this world better."
"If that was possible, then all wars would have ended long ago." said Lysandre. "I can only see a future where foolish humans think about nothing other than themselves and steal more and more from one another."
"That is messed up." said Nazz.
"The ultimate weapon was originally supposed to bring a Pokemon back to life." said Lysandre. "But the king turned it into a weapon; when the legendary Pokemon awakened, it took back much of its power that has been sent to the ultimate weapon."
"So, what are you going to do now?" asked Nazz.
"There's not much power left; but there is enough to use it once." said Lysandre. He raises up a fist. "Children, the ultimate weapon is a flower that bloomed to no avail just like me, but it ends here. I will show you what its remaining power can do."
"Dudes; I think we should bail." said Kevin. The others nod in response; they returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs and ran out of the room.
At Geosenge Town, the ultimate weapon begins to close, then opens back up, releasing a red beam of energy up into the sky; the beam falls back down and hits the ultimate weapon, sending a shockwave through the town. The ultimate weapon closes and goes down into the ground and explodes.
Later, the group were in front of the large hole where the ultimate weapon use to be, looking down at it and seeing nothing but rubble.
"What do you think happened to Lysandre?" asked Jonny.
"Don't know; I just hope we saw the last of him and the rest of Team Flare." replied Kevin. The two masked people suddenly walked over to them.
"I really respect the courage all of you showed." said the masked woman.
"You think Team Flare's gone?" asked Jonny.
"If they are, we can focus on getting our last gym badges." said Nazz.
"But first, let's take a week off like the Eds did after their final encounter with that Team Galactic they told us about." said Kevin while slumping. "Even though our Pokemon did all the battling, I'm wiped."
"Sounds good to me." said Jonny.
"Rolf can use a break also." said Rolf. Just then, AZ walked over to the hole.
"Hey, it's AZ." said Nazz.
"How did he get out of that cell?" asked Kevin. AZ didn't respond and looked down the hole.
"A long time ago, a man made an ultimate weapon." said AZ. "Using it required the life force of many Pokemon; the Pokemon granted eternal life learned this; the resurrect Pokemon left the man's side. Day after day passed, but they were never to meet. Eventually, he became a mere shell of a man, a man condemned to wander forever by the light of the weapon." AZ walks away from the hole. "And a Pokemon wanders eternally. Where is it now? What do I have to do to meet it?"
"Ooookay." said Kevin. "Let's go, dudes." The others nod and they walked away.
The group have foiled Team Flare's plans; now they can focus on their final gym battle and be one step closer to competing in the Kalos League.
