CHAPTER 12

POVS ELIZABETH

When we all arrive at her house, Spencer shows us how A had left writing on the mirror in her room: "It won't be that easy bitches, A." We were scared, not knowing what to say. We couldn't believe that A was capable of entering one of our houses. All this was getting more and more complicated. A wasn't just a stalker.

We all stayed the night, because we didn't want to leave Spencer alone after what had happened. We slept in the living room, no one wanted to stay in the room because of what had happened in the mirror.

In the morning, Aria catches us up on what had happened to her yesterday before heading over to Spencer's house. Apparently, her father had cheated on her mother before they went to Iceland and Aria has had to hide it from her for a year, after catching them kissing, because Byron asked her to. Now her mother has found out because of A.

''It's not your fault, Aria. It's your father's fault alone,'' says Emily because Aria felt very guilty about what had happened.

"It's my fault," Aria replies.

"You didn't get involved with that woman and ask your daughter to be quiet," Spencer tells him. I look at her in agreement.

"Of course, it's your father's fault, not yours," I tell her forcefully. It's like I blamed my mother for letting us drive away that night with my father. When something like this happens it is very difficult to know what to do, especially when the person who forces you to do it is someone so close to you. Aria is also the victim, because she had to keep it for a whole year. It could never be her fault, only her father's.

"Ali told me to tell my mother right away," Aria says regretfully. We looked at her surprised.

''Ali? Did Alison know?'' Emily asks.

"She was with me," says Aria. Of course, Alison was always in those moments. I don't know how she got it.

"So, Alison saw Meredith too?" Spencer asks, stunned.

''Meredith? Is her name Meredith? She doesn't even have a name hottie. I'm sure her hair is burnt,'' Hanna is surprised. I can't believe she just said that. Subtlety is not Hanna's greatest virtue, that's clear.

"Hanna, it's too early to make jokes," Spencer scolds.

"I'm sorry, but if you're going to be unfaithful, at least do it with someone who knows how to take care of her hair," says Hanna. She doesn't stop, she doesn't stop.

''Take. Put this in your mouth. You're better off this way,'' Spencer can't take it anymore with Hanna this morning. I laugh a little without meaning to. That had been very good.

''Sorry. I'm just saying that when my father left, it was good for me to laugh a little. Not just cry,'' Hanna apologizes when she already realizes that she was messing up a bit.

"My father hasn't left. That happened more than a year ago," says Aria, somewhat angry. She still had a hard time thinking about what would happen to her parents. I get it, it's not easy to watch your parents' relationship fall apart.

''Do you think he would be capable?'' She asks us when she sees that we remain silent.

"Hey, whatever happens, count on us," Emily tells her.

''Thank you for staying here. I was very scared,'' Spencer thanks us. Well, I'm always grateful that I don't have to sleep in the same place as my grandmother, so it hasn't been a problem for me. I also wasn't going to leave her alone after that.

''When are your parents coming back?'' Hanna asks.

''This afternoon,'' Spencer answers.

"Aren't you going to clean the mirror first?" Aria asks. Spencer looks at her a little scared.

''Am I going with you?'' Emily asks when she sees her scared face.

''Let's all go,'' Aria says determinedly.

"The five of us don't need to go and clean the mirror. Why don't you get busy and I'll wait for you?'' says Hanna.

"Umm, I'll wait for you here too," I tell them, because I had settled on the sofa with the blankets and had no desire to get up.

''Good. Okay, stay here alone,'' Aria tells us, putting emphasis on alone.

"I'm sure Liz will be a lot of help if something happens to you, rolled up in the blankets as if she were a burrito," Spencer says with a laugh as she looks at me.

"Hey, I'm cold and sleepy," I say, a little offended. I hadn't slept much that night after the mirror thing and I just wanted to cuddle a little more before going to school. ''You're bad,'' I tell her with a puppy face. She sticks her tongue out at me to mock me and they go up the stairs.

''Okay, I've thought about it better. Come on, Liz, you're not going to stay down here alone,' Hanna tells me, scared. She grabs my arm and drags me up the stairs, despite my complaints.

Before reaching Spencer's room, Hanna receives a message. We all looked at her expectantly. As we had unblocked the unknown numbers again, A had returned. In the message to Hanna, she said:

- ''Even wonder what's going on when your back is turned? - A''

Along with this message was a linked document. It was a video of the five of us when we came across the phrase written on the mirror last night. It seems that A had recorded us from the closet.

"A was spying on us," says Spencer, as we all rush towards her room. We open the closet doors and get scared when a bag falls out when we open them.

''Girls... look,'' Aria says after bending down to pick up a lipstick that had fallen from the closet. She tries it on her hand and compares the color to the sentence A wrote on the mirror. Were the same. It was the one A had used.

Shortly after, it was just Spencer and I left at the house. The others had gone to get ready at her house to go to school, but I had decided to stay having breakfast with Spencer so as not to leave her alone and I didn't feel like seeing my grandmother either.

''Are you okay, Liz? I notice you're a little tense,'' Spencer tells me while we have breakfast. The truth is that I was quite nervous.

"It's nothing," I tell her without wanting her to find out about it.

''Come on, Liz, I know something is wrong with you. Is it because of what happened earlier? Has your grandmother done anything else? Is that why you don't even want to set foot in your house?'' Spencer asks me. She's not going to leave me until she tells her.

''It's just... I'm nervous in case A tells my grandmother my secret. I can't imagine how she'll be when she finds out,'' I say with a long sigh at the end.

''What are you hiding from her? Is it that bad?'' Spencer asks me, intrigued. I look at her in silence for a few seconds until I decide to tell her.

"I don't think it's really that serious, but knowing my grandmother, she won't exactly be lenient," I tell her and after taking a deep breath I begin to tell her what happened.

FLASHBACK

A few days have passed since my grandmother brought me to her house and I already understand why my mother never spoke to me about almost anything about her.Until now I thought it was because they lived very far away, but after the time I've been in the hospital that she didn't even deign to visit me, despite being my guardian now, and the way she's treating me these days, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have a good relationship.

Not even a year had passed since the accident, so I still had nightmares, but my grandmother didn't even ask me if I was okay, but if I made any noise at night because of the bad dream, she would scold me directly. She doesn't care one bit about me.

It's early in the morning, but that night I had had other nightmares about the accident, but a little worse than other days. I had woken up drenched in sweat, so after taking a shower, I had gone down to have breakfast.

"Aren't you ashamed for yelling like you did last night? Don't you think you're a little exaggerated," my grandmother scolds me as soon as I get to the kitchen.

''Excuse me? I had a nightmare, it wasn't my fault, I...'' I told her, looking at my hands while she answered. She made me very nervous.

''That's another thing. You must look me in the eyes when we talk, what are you 5 years old?I don't want the townspeople to see that my granddaughter is a social misfit, so either you fix it or I'm not going to let anyone know that you are my granddaughter.Your mother already exposed me enough while she lived here,'' she tells me, almost shouting at me and walks out the door.

After she leaves, I start to have difficulty breathing, I was getting very anxious.I think I was starting to have a panic attack.I was already quite upset these days by the nightmares, but my grandmother was only making everything worse, I couldn't believe that they had left me with her as my guardian.

I was starting to feel pretty dizzy, and I move around a little trying to get to the couch, but as I'm trying to get there, I crash into a bookshelf and hear something crash to the floor. I end up sitting on the floor and trying to relax until the panic attack passes.

It hadn't been as bad as other times, but it seemed like I had managed to mess it up quite a bit. I look towards where I heard the noise earlier that something has fallen, and I put my hands to my head. It was my grandmother's relic that was about 100 years old, she had told me clearly when she brought me home not to dare even look at it.

Before I can react to what has happened, I hear someone come through the door. It doesn't look like it's my grandmother because of the steps. She was a blonde girl who looked about my age and looked at me with an intrigued face.

"Hello, sorry, I was going to come and introduce myself because my parents had said there was a new girl here, when I saw what happened to you through the window," she tells me softly without wanting to upset me much more, but she didn't manage to.

''Who are you? Please don't tell my grandmother what just happened,'' I say, very scared. I was still average after the panic attack, and this wasn't helping.

''Ah, yes, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Alison DiLaurentis. My family is very close friends with your grandmother and that's why I know who you are. Your grandmother mentioned it to my parents the other day, although I don't know why you are living with her. What happened?'' she asks me with a somewhat sly smile.

I don't know how, but I tell her everything that happened to me until I reached this moment. She looks at me very attentively and, even though she doesn't give me much confidence, at that moment she manages to get me to tell her everything. I don't know if this was because I was still upset at the time, but I couldn't not do it.

After telling her everything, she promises to help me make it look like everything was a robbery and that she will get rid of the remains of the relic. She told me to go upstairs and relax a little with a shower and then when I came down, she would have fixed everything. At that moment I didn't know what else to do, so I didn't know how to say no.

When I came down half an hour later, the police were at the house and Alison was talking to them. I looked and there was no trace of the relic, but the room was a little trashed. She had told them that she was with me when it happened and that we had gone upstairs as soon as we saw that they came in trying to hide from the thieves. They asked me a few questions before leaving and said that they would tell my grandmother. I totally appreciated it.

''See, everything is fixed. You won't have any problems with your grandmother,'' Alison tells me, smiling slyly.

''Thank you, really,'' I say. I didn't want to imagine how my grandmother would have been with me if she had known that I was to blame for losing her precious heirloom.

"It's nothing, you'll return the favor," Alison tells me and before leaving she invites me to go to the pajama party she's having with her friends on Friday. She says I don't dare miss it, I'd have a good time.

When I finish telling Spencer, she looks at me very surprised, 'Of course Alison was there at that moment. I don't know how she does it, but she's in every one of our secrets,' she says almost to herself, 'Look, Liz, it wasn't your fault, you were having a really bad time, and your grandmother wasn't even trying to support you. If one day she finds out, you come running here that whoever is there is not going to let your grandmother do anything to you, okay? Trust us,'' Spencer adds when she sees me dejected. She nods and gives me a gentle hug. I sigh a little relieved when I realize that I have someone who supports me.

"Now, come on, let's go to my room, I have to lend you some clothes to go to school. You don't want to wear yesterday's training clothes," Spencer tells me as she takes me to her room.

''You don't have anything that is less... formal,'' I tell her as I look at her closet. I used to wear sweatshirts and comfortable clothes, so it would be very strange to be so dressed up.

"Yes, I have some sports things here, lest one of my shirts give you some allergies," she tells me, laughing. I go to the bathroom to put on a blue sweatshirt and some sweatpants that she gave me. They're a little big on me, because I'm more like Aria's height and Spencer is two heads taller than me, but I'll make do with this today, I still used to wear clothes that were a little bigger.

Once we have finished getting ready, we head towards Spencer's car. Before getting into the car, I see how my grandmother leaves the house, she goes towards her car and leaves without even giving us a glance, knowing perfectly well that she has seen us.

When we arrived at the school, we met the others next to the lockers. We were still a little upset by what had happened, and we were thinking about who A was.

''Do you think a blind woman could have sneaked into my house by herself? For that she would need something more than a GPS,'' Spencer tells us, since Aria has the idea that A is Jenna because of what we did to her.

"I'm not saying that Jenna went in alone," says Aria. They weren't going to let the theory that Toby was bad ever go away. She was tired of it.

''Hey, leave Toby alone, okay?'' Emily says, a little fed up too.

"Why? Maybe his guide dog forgot her lipstick," says Aria.

''Why don't you ask your partner where he was last night? Maybe he got back to his old habit of spying on girls through the windows,'' Spencer says mockingly.

"Spencer, we didn't see Toby do that, it was Alison who told us," I tell Spencer, tired of them not giving Toby even a chance.

"Liz don't tell me you're defending him too," Spencer tells me, surprised.

"I just think that not everything is what it seems," I tell her, tired of the topic.

After ending the conversation, we each headed to our classes. This was not an issue on which we were all going to be able to agree. Just as I leave my first class, I run into Toby who seems to be waiting for me outside.

''Hi Liz. I wanted to return the comic you lent me. Thank you very much for leaving it to me,'' Toby tells me as he gives me the comic. He seems very kind, I don't know why the others don't try, even just to talk to him.

''You're welcome, I hope you liked it,'' I say just before seeing how Spencer is watching us from a distance. She has an intrigued look on her face. ''Well, see you another time!'' I add as I head towards Spencer, who I knew would give me a talk on why not to trust Toby.

"What were you doing talking to him, Elizabeth?" Spencer asks me, somewhat angry, when I approach her.

''Spence, don't worry, we were just talking about something in class that we agreed on,'' I tell her without wanting to tell her the truth completely, because I know how stubborn she is.

''You must be careful with him. We don't know what he's capable of doing,' she tells me, a little more relaxed now. If only she knew I was starting to trust him.

''Okay, I swear I'll be careful,'' I tell her. It's not a lie, because I'll make sure he's a good person, but that doesn't mean I don't want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

''By the way, do you want to have lunch at my house? I don't think my parents are going to get home until after lunch and it's a little uncomfortable for me to be there alone,'' Spencer asks me.

"Yes, of course, I'll have lunch with you," I say with a supportive smile, although I hoped I wouldn't run into Peter. He still made me a little embarrassed about what happened the other day with my grandmother.

POVS SPENCER

When we finished classes, I waited for Elizabeth to finish collecting her things from her locker and we headed towards my house. She was grateful that Liz came with me, I didn't want to be alone, and I didn't like her spending time with her grandmother after knowing that she even hurt her.

"Dad? You're here, I thought you weren't going to arrive for a few hours," I say to my father when we enter the door of my house, surprised that they had already arrived.

''Hello, girls, I'm glad to see you together. We arrived a little earlier, yes, we were able to finish the work early," my father tells us with a smile. I see he's happy to see Elizabeth. He doesn't tell me, but I know he's having a hard time accepting Liz's mother's death, so seeing Elizabeth seems to cheer him up.

''Elizabeth will stay to eat with us, okay?'' I say, knowing that there was not going to be any problem.

''Perfect, we are more than happy for you to come eat with us whenever you want. You already know that'' my father tells Liz.

''Thank you very much, Peter,'' Elizabeth says, somewhat shyly. It still takes a little while for her to get completely used to having us by her side. She has been having to take care of herself for a long time, but we are not going to leave her aside, not like her grandmother.

"Well, here you are Spencer, I wanted to tell you something," Melissa tells me when she appears in the kitchen.

''Yes?'' I say, a little confused. I hadn't gotten used to the fact that we were now on better terms.

''It's just that I've been feeling a little guilty about taking your barn away from you after you'd spent all summer fixing it up, so I'd like you to be able to move in in a week or so. First, wait a bit until I can figure out what to do with some things,'' Melissa tells me smiling. I couldn't believe the effect that the conversation she had with Elizabeth had caused, it's as if she had finally opened her eyes to the fact that I am not her rival.

''Really? Are you going to leave the barn for me?'' I asked her excitedly without being able to believe it.

''Yes, but no more kissing any of my boyfriends, okay?'' She tells me half-jokingly. I give her an excited hug. ''I hope that we can start a new relationship and that I really behave like the older sister that I am, so it seems like a good first step to give you back the barn that you deserve after having worked so hard on it,'' she adds while separating of our embrace. Elizabeth looks at us with a big smile and I give her a bigger smile. This is thanks to her.

Once my mother also arrives in the kitchen, we all sit down to have lunch and catch up a little on what these days have been like. Clearly Liz and I don't tell anything about what happens with A.

''Elizabeth, how are you holding that foot? Have you recovered yet?'' my mother asks Elizabeth.

''Yes, it no longer gives me any problems and I have been able to train again. We have a game soon and I wouldn't have liked to miss it,' says Liz, she seemed a little more comfortable with us.

"I hope you let us know when the game is so we can come see you," says my mother. Elizabeth nods sheepishly.

"So now that you're better, would you two like to come with me to the tennis club this afternoon and we'll hang out?" my father asks us.

"It would be perfect dad, I haven't been in weeks, and I want to beat you again," I say in a mocking manner. "You're coming, right, Liz?" I add, wanting her to spend time with us.

"Okay, although I have to say that I have never played tennis," says Liz.

''It does not matter. Spencer doesn't know either and my father always lets her win,' Melissa says jokingly to make fun of me, but in a friendly way, not like it has happened other times. I stick my tongue out of her.

''I'm better than you, you know. You never play against me because of that,'' I tell her and we all laugh together. The atmosphere had changed a lot in this house in those last few weeks and I loved it.

About two hours later, after studying for a while with Elizabeth in my room, we headed to the tennis club. There, my father, and I spent some time explaining to Elizabeth the basics of how to play tennis. Despite never having played, she learns very quickly.

The three of us and one of Dad's friends played for a while, and after my father left, Elizabeth and I were left playing alone. We were having a good time laughing as Liz cursed a little as she failed. She's shy, but really quite competitive just like the rest of my family.

"Wow, good service," I hear someone say behind me. He seemed to be referring to me. I turn around and see a very handsome guy who works at the tennis club. ''I'm sorry, but you're out of time. It should have closed ten minutes ago," adds the boy.

''Oh really? Can we stay a little longer?'' I beg him a little. He seemed like a nice guy.

"Are you going to compete or something?" he asks me, intrigued.

"No, it's just that she's learning and we're close to finishing the game," I keep insisting that he leave us with a little more puppy-face.

"Okay, but only five minutes," he tells us with a smile.

After this he leaves, and I watch as Liz walks towards me with a smile on her face.

"Umm, the guy seems to like you a little. And do you like it? You have a love-at-first-sight smile on your face,'' Liz tells me, trying to make fun of me.

''Hey, that's a lie. Nothing happened,'' I tell her while I jokingly push her.

"Whatever you say," says Liz, laughing and returns to her place to continue playing tennis a little longer. The day had started off badly, but now it was turning out to be somewhat interesting. Definitely this week I would come to the club more times.

POVS ELIZABETH

That afternoon I managed to get home before my grandmother got home from work. I ate quickly and went to the room with the intention of not seeing my grandmother's face for a few more days. That night was weird, but I slept better than I had in months. It had been a day of many emotions, but it had been one of the best in years for me. Although the Hastings didn't know it, it had made me happy to spend that time with them.

The next day at school I had another free hour in the penultimate period because the teacher was not feeling well that day and I went to the library again to catch up on some subjects that I had somewhat neglected.

Just as I get there, I see Toby at a nearby table that I always sit at when I come to the library. Before I sit at my table, he greets me and walks over to where I am.

''Hey, Elizabeth, I wanted to ask you something. Would you like to come to my house this afternoon? I know you like comics and surely video games. I have a large collection at my house, so if you want to come, I'll thank you for lending me the comic the other day, because otherwise it would have taken me ages to read it. Jenna won't be there,'' Toby tells me, somewhat nervous. He will surely have few friends to turn to for a good time, so I understand his nervousness.

''Sure, what time am I going?'' I ask him. I was a little nervous about meeting him at his house, but I wanted to give him a chance and I'd really like to be friends with him, even though I'll get a headache from Spencer if she finds out.

"Is six in the afternoon okay with you?" Toby asks me.

''Perfect, see you there,'' I say with a smile. He says goodbye too and heads out of the library, while I finally head to my table to do what I had planned before my free hour is over.

Later, when I've finished soccer training today. I get ready in the gym locker room once everyone has left, because I feel uncomfortable changing with everyone looking at me, and I head towards Toby's house, which luckily is no more than a 10-minute walk from the school.

''Elizabeth, I'm glad you could come. I was a little nervous that in the end you had changed your mind,'' Toby tells me as soon as he opens the door. He looked nervous. I highly doubted that someone like that could have done anything to anyone, not even a puppy.

''I'm sorry that my friends are so stubborn. I like to try to give a chance to people who I see deserve it,'' I tell him, being totally honest.

''Thank you, it is difficult to have to endure people looking at you badly just because of the rumors they have spread about you. For now, no one other than you and Emily has deigned to try to have a normal conversation with me at school,'' Toby tells me somewhat sadly as we walk towards his room. I give him a smile letting him know I understand.

"Wow, you really have a great collection of comics here," I say excitedly when I see the bookshelf full of his comics when we enter his room. Almost all of them were on the theme that I liked the most. It was a dream for me.

"Throughout these years I have managed to get a lot of comics, yes, I'm a bit of a geek," he tells me, somewhat embarrassed.

"Don't be ashamed, I'm the first to be the geekiest in the world, if it weren't for the fact that I'm a fan of something, I don't know how I would be able to live in this town," I tell him, laughing.

We spent some time talking about the comics he has on his bookshelf. Many of them are DC superheroes and we agree quite a bit in our tastes. Then we sit on a couch that he has in his room to play some PlayStation games, while we talk about stupid things until we get to a little more sensitive topics.

''My mother gave me this game shortly before she died, so I have a great appreciation for it, I don't know if I could lend it to you,'' Toby tells me sadly after I asked him if he could lend me that game, which was one of the most difficult to find.

''I'm so sorry Toby, I didn't know about your mother. You don't need to lend me the game, I understand how complicated it is to get rid of the things of those people who are no longer there,'' I tell him while I look at my hands, remembering all the things I had to leave behind in my house. My grandmother didn't want me to bring me almost anything, only the most important things.

''No problem. You...no one really knows much about you. Is it mrs. Hale your grandmother? I think I heard that you were the granddaughter of a friend of hers, but you guys look a lot alike,'' Toby tells me softly without wanting to make a mistake or hurt me.

''Yes, she is my grandmother, but she doesn't like anyone to know that I am her granddaughter, so she tries to let as few people as possible find out. She's ashamed of me for the way I am,'' I tell her timidly.

''If you don't mind me asking, what about your parents?'' He says quietly without seeming very sure he wants to ask me.

''Almost two years ago I had a car accident with my family, because of my father, and my mother and my little brother died. My father is now in jail for being drunk while he was driving,'' I briefly summarize what happened. I don't know why, but I felt comfortable being able to tell more and more people. It's like a weight is being lifted off my shoulders.

''Ohh, I wouldn't have imagined that. I'm so sorry, Elizabeth. Thank you for trusting me to tell it to me, I know it's difficult just to say it,'' he tells me with a sad smile, ''You know what, take this video game. I think it's time for it to have a new owner, I'll give it to you,'' he adds determinedly as he hands me the game.

''Oh really? It's very meaningful to you, Toby,'' I say, unsure of accepting the game so precious to him.

"Yes, really, keep it as a thank you for trying to trust me, even though you could have perfectly avoided me after all the rumors about me," he tells me gratefully.

After this we say goodbye and end the afternoon. Today I was able to see in person how almost everything that is said about Toby is false and I am very glad that I tried to give him a chance. I hope I can have a great friendship with him so that Spencer and the others will get over their anger.

Just as I'm leaving Toby's house, I see Emily watching us from where she's sitting in the garden of her house. She has a look of intrigue on her face. I approach her knowing that I wasn't going to escape the questions, so better now than tomorrow in front of Spencer.

''Hi, Emily, how are you?'' I greet Emily in the hope that we will talk about another topic, but with little chance of success.

''Good. I didn't know you were talking to Toby," Emily tells me directly.

''Yes..., I met him a few times in high school, and we talked about comics. I lent him one and then he invited me to play video games and look at his comic book collection. He seemed nice and I wanted to give him a chance to show that he's a good person and not be as stubborn as a lot of people were to me in this town and please don't tell Spencer. She is very stubborn on this subject...'' I tell her all this super quickly, nervously, when she gives me a look of regret and stops me.

''Wait, wait, calm down. I'm sorry I was so blunt at first, I just thought it was weird that you were hanging out with Toby. I'm glad you're trying to give it a try too. He is not bad like others would have us believe,'' Emily tells me in an apologetic tone. "And don't worry, I won't tell Spencer anything. I know perfectly well that she won't change her mind anytime soon,' she adds, seeing me still a little worried.

''Thank you, she is a good friend, but when she is stubborn about an issue she will not stop until she is given enough evidence to think otherwise'', I tell her, and we both laugh knowing how stubborn she is.

"I'm sorry that we didn't try to give you a chance after what happened with Alison and that it took us so long to accept you into our group. It was very bad on our part", she tells me, a little embarrassed.

''Don't worry. I understand that after what happened that night, it was very difficult to know what to do and I was new, so it was easy to distrust me, but now we have solved it, so don't feel guilty about it,'' I say smiling. I really wanted us to let go of everything that had happened last year. The important thing is that they were making me one more friend in the group and for me that is everything. She looks at me gratefully.

''By the way, what were you doing sitting in the garden?'' I say, intrigued, since when I stay in my grandmother's garden it is usually to clear my head and calm down for a while.

"I'm waiting for a friend I'm meeting to come, and I was trying to clear up some ideas," Emily tells me, somewhat reservedly. She seemed nervous about that topic.

"Is everything okay?" I ask her, wanting to know that she has me too so she can tell me about her problems.

''It's just… do you know what it's like to like something, but not be able to tell others for fear of being treated differently or being disappointed?'' Emily asks me.

'I don't know if my case is like yours, but I have always been very prone to disappointing people since I was born simply because of the way I am, for being different from what others expect of you. It's complicated, but in these last two years I have been able to give it another perspective and that is that life is too short to try to be as others want. I don't want to die thinking that I haven't been happy with myself just because others told me to do it differently,'' I tell her sincerely. If the accident had given me anything, it was to look at life in a different way and for that I was grateful. Emily looks at me a little excited.

"That has helped me a lot with one thing, thank you very much, Liz," Emily tells me sweetly. I say goodbye to her so she can meet her friend right now.

I really hope I was able to help her. Every time I felt a little more part of this strange group of friends. These two days had been very good.

Let's hope A doesn't do anything to make everything go adrift.

Hello again.I hope you had a good week and that you liked this chapter!

For those of you who asked me if Elizabeth's mother and Peter' had gotten married, no, they did not get married. They were together during their adolescence, but they did not get married. In my country we say mother-in-law even when the couple has been dating for a month, hahahahaha.

I'll try to do POVs of more characters, but I'm trying to make everything fit together well.

Thank you very much for the reviews that encourage me a lot. Have a good week. Kisses :)
