Chapter 12
Reviews:
TwinstarDragon: the hell are you talking about? There is NO uzumaki OR the tailed beasts from naruto. Were you trying to put that izuku has insane levels of mana? If so, he doesn't have that much, yet. He has slightly more than makoto at this point in canon.
Previously:
Izuku gained a rather sheepish look on his face. "Do you think that you could make one that lasts longer, perhaps?" izuku asked. Ui gained a determined expression. "I will. I will make one that will be GUARANTEED to kill you!" ui exclaimed, a fire in his eye and fists clenched in front of him in determination. Wow, he's determined, izuku thought to himself.
Now:
Days later, his armor was ready, as were his rings (all on his left hand), his mask and his translation necklace. "Alright, let's go," izuku said. "Yes, young master/yes, young master, ok," tomoe, mio and eri said in that order. "Young master, a question?" mio said.
"Yes, mio?" izuku asked when he looked at her. "Why am i wearing this outfit, when i was perfectly fine with my other outfit?" the outfit in question is a regular black kimono, with white spider web designs on the front of her left shoulder and around her left leg, mostly on the front of said leg. The outfit also has a red secondary layer, leather ankle boots, black lace gloves, and a wide leather belt around her midsection. Both the boots and gloves have some minor black frills, matching the boots and gloves.
Her previous outfit is somewhat the same, yet also different. For her previous outfit (the outfit that she wore when her contract was formed), her top remained the same as her current outfit. The differences between the two outfits were thus: the sleeves for her previous outfit were similar to a traditional miko outfit. She had a see through dress that showed about 3/4 of her legs, she also wore tabi socks and white shoes.
The only thing that remained part of her outfit was the red hair band that she got when she formed her contract with izuku. The red hair band looks like it has a red flower on the side, with two strands of semi-thick string knotted in the center of the flower, with the excess hanging down from it.
"There are two reasons you had to change out of your previous outfit, mio," izuku said. "Yes?" mio asked. "First, eri. she 's still a LITERAL child, so that kind of outfit is inappropriate," izuku said. "I see," mio said. "And the second reason?" izuku began to blush. "Y-you look good in your current outfit," izuku said.
Mio was stunned, and blushed. you look good in your current outfit, repeated in her head a few times. Mio smiled, and declared "i'll never take it off!" izuku chuckled at that, and rubbed the back of his head, until he noticed tomoe's new sword. "Is that a new sword, tomoe?" izuku asked her.
"Indeed. If you get close to me…," she said, before she grabbed the hilt of her sword. "… and i'll slice you apart!" tomoe declared joyfully, until izuku pounded his fist into the top of her head, again. Tomoe crouched onto the ground, clutching her head in pain. "Young master, why~?" tomoe comically cried.
"Eri," he simply said, while pointing at eri. Tomoe looked at eri, and saw that she was clutching to izuku's leg in fear, terrified at what tomoe said. "Ah, i see, sorry eri," tomoe said.
Izuku simply climbed on the wagon that they brought from the demi-plane, bringing eri with him. Tomoe and mio followed suit, and izuku set the carriage moving.
The town gate
"Welcome," one of the two guards said. "Hi there," izuku said. "First time here?" the guard asked. "Correct," izuku stated. The cart went through the gate. After the wagon went through the gate, izuku looked around. "Whay Are the people here so beautiful?" izuku asked out bashfully. "Beautiful?" tomoe asked. "This is actually pretty average," tomoe finished.
Izuku was dumbfounded. "THIS is average?" izuku muttered.
Outside the guild building
"Well, young master, let's go in," tomoe said. Izuku nodded, as he held eri's hand.
Inside the guild building
Izuku, tomoe, mio and eri were at the counter. Tomoe, mio and izuku were paying attention to the lady at the counter. And eri? Eri was holding izuku's hand tightly, her little head turning this way and that, trying to see the entire facility.
"Essentially, the quests that the guild post are high risk, high reward. However, the only rule is that you may only select quests of your appropriate level. Any rank can take on special missions if permitted by the guild. The entire party must be close to each other's level to be permitted to enter a harder mission request," she explained. "Now, would you like to register?" she asked. "please/sure/ok," said izuku, tomoe and mio in that order.
Tomoe and mio were handed scrolls. The scrolls turned solid red. "Miss tomoe, you're level 1435," the receptionist said, her knees shaking and voice trembling. "M-miss mio…" she said. "Yes, what's MY level?" mio asked, scroll in one hand while her other was on her cheek. "L-level 1500," the receptionist managed to say, before she fainted from fear.
The crowd cheered at the levels of tomoe and mio. Although tomoe was now doing the ORZ posture, crying anime tears. At the back of the crowd, another attendant handed izuku a scroll. "Here you go, sir," she said. "Thank you," izuku said as he too the scroll, which immediately turned light blue.
Inn entrance
"Welcome to our inn," the receptionist said. "In order to stay for a few nights, the price will be three gold coins," the receptionist explained, a really well hidden glint of greed in their eye. "Unfortunately," tomoe began as she dug her adventurer's card out. "That's not going to fly, she simply said, as she showed them her card. When the receptionist saw her level, he began to freak out. "Now, why don't you do a decent PRICE?" she gently stomped her foot as she said 'price,' made a hole in the floor, and caused the reception desk to collapse.
"Yes, ma'am," the receptionist said, quickly going into the dogeza position. "The standard rate is one gold for a few nights," the receptionist amended.
The room
"I take it that you've noticed it, as well, young master?" tomoe asked. "Yeah, tomoe, i have," izuku simply said. From her position next to izuku, eri pulled on his sleeve a couple of times. "izuku , what are you and tomoe talking about?" eri asked. "It's simple, eri: EVERYTHING is priced far more than it should be," izuku said. "Take this container of water, for example," izuku said, holding up a container full of water that he had purchased earlier. "This cost between 12-15 copper, when it SHOULD be 2 copper. 4 copper, at the most," izuku explained.
Judging by the steam escaping eri's head, she couldn't understand what izuku was talking about (look up monster musume no iru nichijou, where papi tried to read and make sense of a law book. That happens.), so izuku simply said, "to make it simple, eri: someone is cheating a lot of people out of what they need," izuku said.
"Ok, izuku," eri yawned, curled up into him, and fell asleep. Izuku picked her up and held her, to which eri simply cuddled into him. "Tomoe, you are staying with the wagon," izuku said. "But why, young master?" she asked. "I'm fairly certain we were followed, yeah?" izuku said.
"Che, so you DID notice them. Merchants make for easy targets, especially ones that have never entered this town before," tomoe said. "I agree, izuku said. "That's why i want you guarding our wagon, so no one CAN steal it," izuku stated. He then looked to mio. "Mio, you want to head out for a bit?" izuku asked. "Of course, young master," mio said cheerfully.
And so, tomoe went to go and guard the wagon, while mio, izuku and perhaps eri went to go get something to eat.
Later that night
Izuku was carrying eri while mio clutched on his arm. "Dinner with the young master, i'm so happy," mio murmured to herself, while she was blushing a bit with hearts surrounding her head.
"Excuse me?" a voice said from behind them. Izuku and mio turned to look behind them. The source of the voice was a preteen girl with short, reddish-orange hair in a side ponytail and wearing little more than rags as her outfit, with bandages on her legs. A little girl? Izuku thought to himself.
"Mio, can you see what she wants?" izuku asked. "Of course, young master," mio said cheerfully. Once she approached the child, mio's expression and tone took a dark turn. "Stand aside, girl, you're in our way," mio said. The girl looked like she was about to start to cry from fear and was going to panic.
"Mio? A moment," izuku said, getting mio's attention. "Yes?" mio asked, only for izuku to give mio a harsh slap to the front of her head. That shocked the girl out of her fear, causing her to get a sweat drop on the side of her head.
"Why would you say that to a CHILD?!" izuku demanded in a whisper. Mio was holding the side of her head in pain, her eyes having hearts in them. "Well, i-i didn't want my precious time with the young master so rudely interrupted!" mio exclaimed. "That's no reason to threaten her!" izuku retorted before grabbing mio's nose.
The girl chuckled a bit, as izuku approached her. "Now, why have you approached us?" izuku kindly asked. The girl decided to introduce herself. "My name's rinon, and…" she started to tear up. "I think i need some help," she said, before lunging, grabbed his stomach in a hug and started crying. Thankfully she didn't wake eri up.
"Get your little mitts off of him," mio demanded rinon. "We don't have a choice, let's take her back to the inn," izuku said. "But, young master, that conniving little creature is a WOMAN…" mio protested.
With tomoe
"*sigh*, why would the young master order ME to defend our wagon?" tomoe asked herself. "I mean, it's not like anyone's…" she trailed off, having heard something. She hid in the shadows near the wagon.
A few minutes later, some people approached the wagon. "Back away from that," they heard, before they turned to the source of the feminine voice. Tomoe appeared out of the shadows, her red eyes glowing a bit. "That's OUR wagon," she stated. One of the would-be thieves decided to attack. Tomoe simply kicked the thief. The thief spun in the air a bit, before they landed, their upper torso rotated 180 degrees with their feet hanging towards their head. Tomoe had an uneasy expression on her face. I held back as much as i could, tomoe thought to herself. She drew her katana and blocked a sword strike, spun in a circle, slashed at the thief. She then jumped behind two of the remaining thieves. "I simply jumped behind you and struck from behind," tomoe said while sheathing her katana. When it went 'click', three thieves split in half, blood and guts gushing as the pieces fell to the ground. Tomoe had a shocked expression, shadows covering her eyes. Yeesh, this sword is CRAZY sharp, tomoe thought.
The last thief let loose a girlish scream as they attempted to flee. Tomoe turned to the thief. "They're trying to escape, i can't let them," she said. So, she jumped in front of the thief and, without drawing it, jammed the hilt of her katana into the stomach of the thief.
Upon catching the thief, tomoe simply picked them up and put them on her shoulder. "Quite satisfactory, indeed," she said.
Will izuku think it was satisfactory? Stay tuned to find out next time, on 'death and rebirth of a rabbit'
