Everyone was groaning and moaning in pain from the fall that they had just taken after Rhoga found an entrance into the world beneath, and after a very, very long fall, everyone had hit the hard rocky floor while ending up in a big pile before they untangled themselves from the others. "Everyone alright?" Anna called out, her friends shifted around but responded back to her. "You can't blame me for this one Rhoga." Thudd said as he moved away from her, the sea-foam green Parasaurolophus only groaned in pain as she rubbed her aching head. "Got it. Now what?" Rhoga asked as she sat up, Anna and Kex were about to turn on their flashlights when the torches on the walls suddenly lit up with fire causing the whole place to fill with light. "Is that the city where the humans lived?" Kex asked as he pointed the ancient, but magnificent city that resembled Waterfall City on the surface above them only without the waterfalls. "It must be." Mara replied as she and the others went to explore, the group decided to split up in order to find either more answers about the prophecy or try to find the sapphire sunstone which wasn't going to be easy as the underground city was massive. "Let's meet back here in an hour for a break then we'll start the search again." 26 told her friends, they all agreed before choosing to go to different parts of the city, with Anna, Kex and Spazz going one way while Mara, 26 and Shanise went the other which left Rhoga and Thudd going down another way together. "Stay together, and stay safe." Shanise advised them all before they went their separate ways to find the answers that they needed.
"At least we're together for a new adventure." Kex said with a smile, Anna smiled back before focusing on the cave walls beside them. "Why're you staring at the pictures on the wall?" Spazz asked her, the baby dinosaur didn't understand why they were so interesting to her. "These are pictographs. The humans who lived here must've drawn them." Anna replied to Spazz, he still didn't understand while Kex on the other hand realized that the pictographs must be telling a story. "Can you make out what the story says?" Kex asked Anna, he knew that his best friend had taken classes to learn about the stories that pictographs told in order to either warn people about disasters or just tell people about how those of ancient tribes had lived back then. "This is the story of how the sapphire sunstone was found and used to protect Dinotopia." Anna responded while looking at the paintings on the wall, as it turns out that long, long, ago, a young girl by the name of Erica learned that Ogthar, the leader of their expedition to find a new home was plotting to use the power of the ruby sunstone to take over the surface world once it was deemed safe for everyone to return there, but Erica raced back to the others to warn them of Ogthar's plan. However, the adults had hidden the children before going to confront Ogthar who had been working on his robotic dinosaurs, of course once Ogthar realized that he was about to be overthrown by his own people, he used the power of the ruby sunstone to capture the adults as the children watched in fear, and just when all hope seemed lost. It was Erica who had stumbled onto another sunstone, but this one was the color of sapphire, and unlike the ruby sunstone which felt cold and cruel, the sapphire sunstone felt warm and safe as Erica felt the hope, love and friendship from the other children welling up in each of them, and with Erica leading the fray, she and the other children used the power of the sapphire sunstone to help free the adults before they all worked together to take Ogthar down.
"Once Ogthar was imprisoned, Erica had hidden the sapphire suntone in the tallest tower which is right there!" Anna finished saying as she pointed to the tallest tower at the center of the ancient palace that was right in front of them. "How're we going to get in there?" 26 asked as Anna, Kex and Spazz jumped in surprise, the three whirled around to see her, Mara, Shanise, Rhoga and Thudd standing right behind them without knowing when they had showed up. "Where'd you come from?" Kex asked as his heart rate went back to normal. "We came from back that way." Shanise answered him while pointing behind her back, shaking her head in amusment, Anna turned back to the pictographs before seeing some ancient writing on the walls. "It looks like a song, and for some reason, I know this song." Anna thought in confusion, she silently wondered how she knew a song that had been sung during ancient times that only the people who lived in the world beneath should know, and that was before Anna started feeling like she knew how to reach the tallest tower despite not seeing any stairs that would lead up to the door. Anna felt that it really was strange that she knew what to do, but she wasn't going to question how she had the answer they needed to get to the sapphire sunstone. "What're you doing Anna?" Mara asked her, the others saw that Anna had taken off her shoes before getting into a ballet position. "What is she doing?" Rhoga asked Kex, he was wondering that as well before the group started hearing the voices of the past, many voices of women were heard singing as Anna herself began to sing and dance along with the voices, leaving the others to watch on in amazement as Anna and the voices sung together.

As the last of the music faded out, Anna looked up in time see that a staircase was beginning to appear from the sides of the tower. "How did you do that? How did she do that?" Thudd asked in shock, everyone was just as shocked as Thudd was, including the only one who had known what to do. "I-I have no idea." Anna responded in shock, she shook her head again before beginning to climb up the stairs. "Come on!" Anna called to her friends, the others followed carefully since no one wanted to fall again as they went higher and higher. "Are we there yet?" Spazz asked with a whine to his voice, everyone was wondering the same thing as the stairs seemed to go on forever, but before they knew it, the door that was at the top came into view. "We're here!" Anna said happily, the others cheered as she opened the door, and there in the middle of the room on a pedestal was the sapphire sunstone. "It's beautiful." Mara said in awe, everyone else agreed with her, and if Rhoga and Thudd had still wanted to be moronic gods, they would've betrayed the rest of them by now. However, since Rhoga and Thudd wanted to be good and not go back to jail, they chose to ask a question instead. "Are you gonna take it?" Rhoga asked Anna, the young girl stood in front of the sapphire sunstone, but she was unsure if she should just take it from the world beneath without someone's permission.
"It's alright. Dinotopia needs your help, take the sapphire sunstone." Erica's voice echoed around the room, that was apparently Erica's way of giving Anna permission to take the sacred sunstone back to the surface world in order to save the island once more. "Thank you." Anna replied softly, she carefully and gently picked up the sapphire sunstone from it's pedestal before wrapping it up in a towel then placing it into her backpack. "Now then. How do we get out of here?" Shanise asked her friends, they went back down the stairs of the tower until they reached the ground. "We need to find an exit." Mara added, but before the others could take even one step, the sapphire sunstone began to glow from inside of Anna's backpack then formed a path that lead outside of the ancient city. "Follow the sapphire brick road." Kex joked with a smirk, only Anna laughed since she got the reference, but the others had no idea what the joke was. "We'll explain later." Anna promised the others, the group followed the glowing path until they suddenly reached a dead end. "Now what?" Spazz asked with a pout, he really wanted to leave the world beneath and so did everyone else. "Hmm." Anna said softly, she put her hand on the wall before moving it around. "What're you doing now?" Thudd asked in confusion, the others watched as Anna walked a little ways away from them before her hand landed on a dinosaur padded print that had been carved onto the wall. "Don't tell me." Kex said with a smile, he knew that Anna had just found a hidden switch. "It is." Anna replied as she pressed the switch.
The wall moved to reveal sunlight that was peeking into the cave. "I guess we were here all night." Shanise said in surprise, that made Mara and 26 worried. "We're going to be grounded, aren't we?" Mara asked her best friend, 26 nodded as she could hear the scolding that John and Albagon were going to give them all later. "Blame it on me." Anna told them, both Mara and 26 looked at her. "What?" Anna asked them, since sneaking out had been her idea, she thought that by telling Mara's father as well as the wise old dinosaur that it had been her choice to leave in the middle of the night then the others would be spared from a lecture. "Me too." Kex spoke up, he had willingly wanted to go on adventure with his best friend, so he'd take the blame too. "We'll figure that out later. But we should go." Rhoga chimed in, she and the others left the world beneath as the entrance sealed itself back up as the watched it happen. "No going back." 26 told the others, they made their way back to the hatchery since they needed to show John and Albagon that the sapphire sunstone was ready to be used to save Dinotopia, but what the group didn't know was that Ogthar had been watching them the whole time. "They will pay soon enough." Ogthar said to himself, he went back to his lair in order to put the finishing touches on his robotic dinosaurs so he could invade Waterfall City.
