*No One's POV*
It was a beautiful day at Kittery Point, Maine. From the port to Kittery Point High School.
Syrus, his cousin Max, and all their classmates were in Miss. Moyniham's biology class. Well, everyone except Fiona. Miss. Moyniham was looking at the clock to see that Fiona had at least a minute to get to class, or she'll be late.
Meanwhile Fiona was skating through the halls with an apple in her hand. She came into Miss. Moyniham's class just a second before the school bell rang. "Oh, yeah! I am good!" She said as she sat down beside Max.
"You made it this time Fiona," Miss. Moyniham said to her student. "but you broke three rules to do it- No skates on school grounds and no food in class." As Miss. Moyniham said the second rule Fiona broke, she took a bite of her apple. This caused Syrus to slightly chuckle at this. 'Jaden would do the same thing.' He thought.
Fiona swallowed before she spoke. "That's only two." She said before trying to throw the apple into the trash can. But it didn't make it in. "Littering. Three." When Miss. Moyniham said that the whole class but Syrus laughed at Fiona. "Sorry Miss. Moyniham." Fiona said. "How does she do that?" Syrus asked Buzz, who just shrugged his shoulders. The two have gotten close since Syrus first came to the school about a week ago. But the punk teen still didn't open up to Syrus much.
"Settle down." Miss. Moyniham said to the rest of the class as Fiona got up to throw away the apple properly. "Don't forget you'll be taking a field trip tomorrow to the tide pool, and I'll need your release forms." She then turned off the lights and turned on the projector.
It showed a herd of elephants, which Syrus tried to draw. When it comes to art, Sy was pretty bad at it, but not as bad as Jaden is. But his art skills have been getting better thanks to Buzz, eventually Syrus' art skills will be as good as his tech and programming skills. Syrus was a prodigy when it comes to tech and computer programming, like Zane and probably Jaden are with Duel Monsters.
"Yesterday, we were discussing how many animals, rather than living alone, live in groups or colonies to survive better." After she said that, the film shows that a lioness was prowling, hoping to make one of the elephants her lunch. "You could call this self-interest."
The film then showed marching ants. "But some life forms, such as ants, will sacrifice themselves for the good of the colony." The film then showed what looked like a bridge of leaves and then some ants floating away in the water. "And wolves will instinctively place themselves between their newborn and threat." Miss. Moyinham said as the film turned to a mother wolf standing protectively between her two pups and a bear. Syrus then started drowning the mother wolf and her pups, leaving out the bear of course.
"These traits are vital to the survival of many species, something from which even we can learn a lesson." Miss. Moyinham said before she turned on the lights and turned off the projector.
As class continued, Syrus knew that Miss. Moyinham was right. 'I was hoping to spend the rest of my second year and my third year of High School at Duel Academy, but I like it here at Kittery Point.' Syrus thought, wondering if his friends at Duel Academy will have a normal school year next year. 'Either way, Jaden will tell me everything that'll happen next year.'
"What do we have here?" Miss. Moyiham said as she picked up the drawing Syrus did earlier. "My, what loving drawings." She said as she handed them back to Syrus. "Thanks." He said as he took them back.
As class continued, Syrus got the feeling that tomorrow would be a life changer.
~Meanwhile~
At a building in a city far from Kittery Point, a red helicopter with a dinosaur head design was landing on the roof.
A man in a red former suit and back hair with red streaks in it was walking away from the copter with another man in a blue suit.
A few minutes later they were in an elevator, heading down. "I think you'll enjoy working at Raptor-dyne, Peter." The black and red haired man said to the man in the blue suit, now known as Peter.
"Thank you, Mr. Veloci." Peter said to his new boss. "I'm sure I will." He said as the elevator doors opened. But the floor they reached was something Peter wasn't expecting. "What is this place." He asked.
The floor they were on looked like a cave with computers, metal floors, and giant water filled test tubes, each one holding something that Peter couldn't describe. There were also scientists working. "It's where my real work is done." Veloci explained to his new employee as he walked over to a table that had a cylinder filled with an orange colored ooze-like liquid on it. "These nano machines you developed will help speed up the process of perfecting my experimental DNA, the one I intend to use to genetically reconstruct all life forms and turn them back into what they rightfully should still be-dinosaurs." Veloci explained as he picked up the cylinder and Peter walked up to him.
He then pressed an orange button, which caused the floor beside Peter to open up and another on of those test tubes, this one the same size and Peter and Veloci.
Veloci pressed another button and the computer beside them turned on. It showed a whale turning into a prehistoric marine reptile. "That's impossible." Peter said after the computer showed a rhino turning into a triceratops.
"Is it?" Veloci asked as his eyes glowed yellow and were now Dino-like. "So, Peter, do you want to join me and be part of the dominant species? Or stick with the humans and go extinct?" He asked Peter as his hand turned into a red raptor hand with four fingers and yellow claws. He then roars as his head turned into a red raptor head with a black markings on the back of it. He then turned to face Peter.
"I got into business to swim with the sharks, not be eaten by them. I'm in." Peter answered.
He and Veloci shook hands before Veloci took an injector and injected something into Peter's upper arm just below his shoulder, causing Peter's eyes to turn dino-like when he opened them. "Welcome to the team." Veloci said to Peter through telepathy.
They then walked over to a small pool of water. Veloci opened the cylinder and poured the Ooze into the water, coloring it orange.
Another working dressed all in gray with dinosaur head-like helmet that covered his entire head and a red visor that hide his face turned a valve that caused the orange colored ooze water to go through a pipe until it reached the ocean.
~The Next Day~
The Ooze traveled until it reached Kittery Point, at the beach where Miss. Moyniham and her class were at for their field trip.
"All right. Let's break into our usual lab groups." Miss. Moyniham said to her students, none of them knowing what was in the water. "You have two hours to identify as many species as you can find. And remember, if you work as teams, you'll get a lot more done in a lot less time." She explained to everyone before they walked off to do the assignment.
Syrus's lab group, which included Fiona, Max, Buzz, Caruso, and Rodger, walked up to some tide pools.
"Team, schmean. I'm just here to check out all the cool creatures. Not be a poster boy for cooperation." Buzz said as he walked up to a tide pool that he looked into. Syrus just shook his head at Buzz's way of thinking with a slight roll of his eyes. 'He'll think they're cooler if he'll actually learn more about them and know what they are.' The sky-blue haired teen thought.
Syrus looked over at his cousin and saw that Max had a clipboard and pencil. 'Max is a natural born leader. If only I was like that.' Syrus thought. "Ok. Let's do this." He said. 'Straight to the point, as always.' Syrus thought. "Fiona, Buzz, and Caruso will find them." Syrus looked at the three and saw that they were each doing their own thing, hardly paying any attention to Max. "Rodger, you identify them, Sy, you take pictures of them, and I'll write them down." Max said to me and Rodger. I then took out the camera I brought with me, thankfully it was waterproof.
"Got it?" Max said as Fiona threw a rock into the ocean that skipped until it sunk.
"Come on guys , is anyone paying attention?" Max asked the other. "Not to you." Fiona said before she threw another rock. "I am." I said to him. "I know you are Sy." Max said to his glasses wearing cousin.
Max then turned to the punk of the group. "Buzz, help me out here." He said to the green haired teen, who was holding a sea-star. "Get real, jock. If I wasn't stuck in this class, I wouldn't even talk to a species like you." Buzz said to him. Syrus walked over to him and bonked Buzz over the head. "OW." Buzz said as he dropped the sea-star. "Don't insult my cousin." Syrus said as he walked away with his arms crossed behind his head.
"It's all good. I got it covered." Caruso said as he walked up to Max. Syrus and Buzz looked at each other and shook their heads, knowing that Caruso was about to use a short-cut that won't work, again. "Did a little surfing on the net last night, printed out a list of sea creatures." Caruso then took out a piece of paper from his inner jacket pocket and gave it to Max before he walked away. "This is a sushi menu." Max said after looking at the list. "Sushi, fish species... What's the difference?" Caruso asked. "Sushi is commonly made of raw, dead, fish, rice, and seaweed. The fish species that we are supposed to be looking for are alive." Syrus answered with a roll of his eyes.
"Speaking of species, we're all going to be biologicus flunkemus if we don't get our act together and work as a team." Rodger said to all of us. "He's right." I said to Fiona, Buzz, and Caruso.
"Speak for yourself. I've got my act totally together." Caruso said as he walked along some rocks. But then he slipped and fell into the water. "With the emphasis on the act." Fiona said before she threw a third rock into the ocean.
Caruso was looking into the water with his jacket over his shoulder. "Oh man." Caruso said when his jacket fell into the water. He then picked it up and placed it on the ground beside him as a white dog with some black spots and a white cat with gray paws, ears, and tail-tip walked up barking and meowing. "Hey!" Caruso said when the dog then grabbed his jacket and dragged it away. "Stop slobbering up my new jacket, you ugly mutt." Caruso said as he cased after the dog. The cat then chased after Caruso. When Caruso dived to try and grab the dog, said dog used Caruso's behind as a spring-board and the cat followed. "Hey!" Caruso said when the two did that.
The two animals then ran towards the water. "Get back here! Whoa!" Caruso said when the two animals dive into the water, barely stopping himself from falling in. The two animals then started swimming, the dog still holding onto Caruso's jacket. "Come back, mutt!" Caruso said. "The cat looks like it's a mix of a Maine Coon and an Abyssinian." Rodger said as they watched the two animals swim.
The dog started whining as he let go of the jacket. The two animals dived down to get it, but they quickly surfaced when they saw a shark and started swimming back to shore, leaving Caruso's jacket behind. "Hey, fleabags, you forgot my jacket!" Caruso said to them.
"Who cares about your stupid jacket? The poor things are in trouble! Let's go rescue them." Fiona said. "I agree." Syrus said when walked to Fiona's side.
"Dogs and cats aren't a part of our assignment you two." Buzz said to them. "*sigh*I hate it when sand gets in my underwear." Rodger said. 'TMI.' Syrus thought with a roll of his eyes. "Forget it. Me and Syrus will do it ourselves." Fiona said before she and Syrus ran towards the water and dived in. 'Good thing I took those swimming lessons.' Syrus thought as he and Fiona started swimming towards the animals in trouble, the former making sure his glasses didn't fall off. "Come on, guys. Let's help." Max said as he dived in after Syrus and Fiona.
"You going to save the fleabags, too?" Buzz asked Caruso. "No. I'm going to save my jacket." Caruso said before he ran to the water and jumped in.
"Oh, well. Last one in is a rotten egg." Rodger said before he ran towards the water. "That's you, eggplant head." He said as he ran back to get Buzz. "Hey! Come on! Cut it out!" Buzz said after Rodger threw him over his shoulder. "Everyone into the water!" Rodger said before threw in himself and Buzz into the water, Buzz screaming like a little girl before he went under.
As they swam, the six of them unknowingly swan through the ooze Veloci dumped into the ocean. They also didn't know of the shark that the cat and dog saw.
The dog and cat swam towards the group when they saw them.
Fiona and Syrus surfaced to meet the two scared animals. "Come one, boy. I got you." Fiona said as the dog swam towards her, trying to calm the poor thing down. "Don't worry girl. We'll get you and your friend back to shore." Syrus said when the cat swam towards him. The two animals continued to whimper in fear as they swam back to shore.
"Thanks." Caruso said to the shark that returned his jacket. Caruso then looked towards the shark fin. "Ahh! Help! Shark!" Caruso said as he dropped his jacket. He swam back to shore as the shark took a bite out of the spiky haired teen's jacket.
As the others reached the shore, Caruso screamed shark again, causing everyone to get out of the water as fast as they could. "Shark! Shark!" Caruso said frantically before Max and Rodger helped to shore.
Buzz then spotted Caruso's jacket. "Hey, man. It ate your jacket." Buzz said, showing the group what happened. "The back half of it anyway." Syrus said added as he picked up the cat. She purred and rubbed her head against Syrus' cheek as a way to thank him for rescuing her and her friends. Syrus responded by scratching her on top of her head. "Give me that." Caruso said as he took back his jacket and looked at it.
"I thought I made it clear no one was to go in the water." Miss. Moyniham said as she walked up to the group.
"It was Fiona and Syrus' idea-" Caruso started, but Max interrupted him. "To save the dog and cat." He said, defending his cousin and Fiona. Syrus and Fiona then showed their teacher the two animals they saved.
"Well, I suppose working together to help a pair of endangered creatures is an acceptable excuse." She said, scratched the dog on the chin and then the cat. "Now, get back to work." Miss. Moyniham said before walking away from the group and two animals.
When Syrus and Fiona put the dog and cat down, the two animals walked away, leaving a trail of glowing orange paw prints from the Ooze. Unknown to the two animals or Syrus and Finona.
As the two teens went back to the group, they also left a trail a glowing orange prints behind them.
~Later that day~
Over at the football field, Max and Caruso were practicing.
"Two. Eighty-three. Hut!" Max said before the ball was passed to him. He walked back a bit and got ready to throw, but his hand turned into what looked like a green, three fingered, T. Rex's hand and the claws popped the ball. "AAH!" Max as he tried to shake off the ball.
But when he removed the ball, his hand was back to normal.
It was then he was tackled by his teammates.
"Hit the showers, Max." The football coach said when walked up to the black haired teen. "Caruso, you're." He said to Caruso, who was sitting on the bench. "Hustle up! Get out of here." The coach said to Max, who was looking at his hand, wondering what happened, before walking off the field.
In the library, Rodger was studying while drinking water constantly. Not knowing he had four small Styracosaurus horns on his head, two on each side.
As he was about to take another sip of water, his nose turned into a small Styracosaurus nose horn and his water bottle got stuck on it. "Huh? Uh?" Rodger said before he let out a bellowing roar without him meaning to.
When everyone else in the library turned to look at him, Rodger's horns disappeared and his nose returned to normal. He gave a small, nervous laugh as people stared at him.
"Young Man, in case you haven't noticed, this is a library." The librarian said as he walked up to Rodger. "*chuckles*Sorry." Rodger said to him.
In the boy's locker room, Caruso opened his locker and pulled out a white jacket.
But when he put it on he grew three Stegosaurus plates, which ripped the jacket in half. "What?" Caruso said as the plates quickly disappeared before he turned to look at his back.
"Oh, man." Caruso said as the two halves of his jacket slid down his arms. "First that stupid mutt and dumb cat ruins my jacket, and now, look what the cleaners did to my new one!" Caruso said, not knowing what really happened.
In the school parking lot, Fiona was getting into her jeep(That is the type of car Fiona has, right?).
But as she drives out of the parking lot, Fiona didn't notice that she grew a Spinosaurus tail that stuck out of the opened back window as she drove.
In his room, at his house, Buzz was playing a dino-themed video game(Ironic bit here everyone).
"Buzz! Will you stop wasting your life away with those ridiculous video games?" His mom asked him from another part of the house. "Sure. Whatever, Mom." Buzz answered her before turning his attention back to his game.
When a Pterandon appeared in the game, Buzz started flapping his arms. As he did, a pair of Pterandon wings grew from Buzz's arms, causing him to fly a bit off the ground.
"Huh?" Buzz said when he noticed he was hovering off the ground a bit. The wings then disappeared when he looked at one of them, causing Buzz to fall to the ground.
Buzz looked at his controller and then at his game. He then threw his controller away from him with a fearful look on his face, thinking the game was the reason why he grew wings.
Meanwhile, in the room his aunt and uncle gave him, Syrus was at the computer when his phone rang. Syrus looked at the caller ID and smiled when he saw that it was Jaden.
"Hey, Ja." Syrus said when he answered the phone, still working on whatever was on the computer.
"Sy! Did you hear that mysterious game maker, DJ Wolf, is working on a new game after a year and a half absent?!" Jaden said from the other side of the phone. Syrus smirked when he heard that. "Yeah, I did. In fact, I bet his working on that new game right now." Syrus said as he typed on a few keyboard keys.
He then heard someone take the phone from Jaden on the other side. "Well I heard he was in a creativity block!" Chazz said, revealing that he was the one who took Jaden's phone. Syrus flinched when he heard that. "Where did you hear that?" Syrus asked, kind of knowing the answer. "Zane. Though I don't know how he would know." Chazz answered.
'I'm going to hit Zane over the head the next time I see him.' Syrus thought with a slightly angry look on his face. "Dude! Give me that!" Jaden said as he took his phone back from Chazz. "Sorry about that Sy." Jaden said. "It's okay Ja. Well I have to go. Talk to you guys later." Syrus said as he disconnected the call and looked at the computer.
"*sigh*I need to think of a new game idea. And fast!" Syrus said as he leaned back in his rolling desk chair. Syrus was, in fact, DJ Wolf. He took a break from designing and making games when he went to Duel Academy, but started making them again when he came to Kittery Point. Only the members of his family knew that he was DJ Wolf, and he was going to get back at Zane for saying he was in a creativity block, even though it was true. Syrus hasn't been able to think of a new game since he started working on games again.
'Why can't I think of anything?' Syrus wondered.
"Syrus, can you help me with dinner?" He heard his aunt ask him from the kitchen. "Okay Aunt June." Syrus said as he sat up.
When he went to gently kick the wall to push himself away from the desk, his foot turned into a dark blue Carnotaurus foot. When he kicked, his transformed foot caused more force than Syrus meant for there to be. "Woah!" Syrus said when he landed on his bed. When he looked at the wall, he saw three holes in the wall where he pushed. Syrus looked at his now, once again, normal foot and then back at the wall, wondering what happened.
~Later~
The whole group was called back to school and were currently standing in Miss. Moyinham's class, in front of her desk.
"You know why you all failed the tide pool assignment?" Miss. Moyinham asked her students. "Because shrimp tempura is not a species?" Caruso answered, with a question. Sryus just rolled his eyes at Caruso. "No. Because you weren't a team at all. You were just six..." She stopped speaking when Fiona grew Spinosaurus tail. She quickly hid it, the tail disappearing when she did.
Caruso's plates tried to bust out of his shirt, but he crossed his arm and they stopped growing and disappeared.
"Aah! Oh!" Rodger said as he tried to hide his horns with his hands and the cap he was wearing.
Miss. Moyinham looked over at Max and Syrus. "*gasp*Oh!" Max said when he tried to hide his T. Rex foot with his none-T. Rex foot, causing said foot to return to normal a bit. Syrus hid his four fingered Carnotaurus hand with his normal hand, unlike his cousin when he did this bit with his feet, Syrus' hand turned back completely.
Buzz's arm stuck up when he grew a wing, but pushed it back down to his side.
"I know what you're hiding." Miss. Moyinham said to her students after seeing the dinosaur features. "We're not hiding anything. Right guys?" Max asked the rest of his group. The five of them said they weren't hiding anything in their own ways and shook their heads, not knowing that they all had the same problem..
Miss. Moyinham then stood up and walked towards Max and Syrus. "I saw both of your claws, Max, Syrus." When she said that the two cousins looked at each other with shocked expressions. "And your tail Fiona." Miss. Moyinham said as he walked towards the only girl in the group. "You have a tail? All I've got are these saggy arm thingies." Buzz said, showing his wings to the others.
"They're Pteranodon wings. And yours are Stegosaurus spinal plates." Miss. Moyinham explained to Buzz and Caruso. "No way. It's just a little breakout. Isn't it?" Causo said.
"I wish it was that simple, but the truth is, you've all been infected with virulent dinosaur DNA." Miss. Moyinham explained to the group. "How do you know all this?" Fiona asked. "Yeah. Who are you?" Syrus asked with his arms crossed.
"I had a feeling that would be your reaction. All of you, hold hands, so, telepathically, we can all see together." Miss. Moyinham said to the group. The palms of her hands then glowed orange as she placed them on Max and Fiona's foreheads. In their heads they saw an asteroid flying through the sky. "Sixty-five million years ago, an asteroid struck the Earth," Two Velociraptor, one lime green with purple markings and the other red with black markings, looked up towards the asteroid. "wiping out all the dinosaurs." As Miss. Moyinham said that, the asteroid struck, causing a huge explosion. The two Velociraptor then started running until they entered a cave, falling rocks blacking the entrance. "Except for two Velociraptors." She then moved to Caruso and Buzz and placed her hands on their foreheads. ""Over time, their genes mutated, and they gained the ability to adapt their form." They were then showed the lime green Velociraptor turning into a younger version of their teacher.
"You're a Velociraptor! You're, like, a vicious carnivore!" Caruso said, backing away from Miss. Moyinham a bit. Syrus hid behind Max. But he couldn't help but wonder how his teacher lived this long. "I evolved beyond that long ago." She reassured them. Syrus let out a breath of relief and came out from behind his cousin when he heard that. "But I'm afraid another Raptor didn't."
"The red one?" Syrus asked his teacher. "Yes. He's become Victor Veloci." Miss. Moyinham explained to them. "How's that possible? The guy's a civic leader!" Max said. "Yeah. He owns that big Biogenetics company in Boston, Raptor-dyne." Rodger explained to everyone.
Miss. Moyinham then pulled down a timeline graph, showing how long dinosaurs walked the Earth before the asteroid hit. "Because they dominated the Earth for hundreds of millions of years, far longer than man's short history, Vitor believes dinosaurs are superior." Miss. Moyinham explained to him. "Then let's hope he doesn't meet Rex Raptor, if he hasn't already. From what I heard about that Dino Duelist, he would definitely join Veloci, especially if it means getting back at Joey Wheeler for beating him. And something tells me that Weevil Underwood, Rex's partner, would also join Veloci to get back at Yugo Muto for the same reason." When he said that, everyone looked at him. "I got into conspiracy theories after the whole Shadow Riders and Society of Light incidents at Duel Academy." He explained to them while nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"Either way, what do you believe?" Fiona ask her teacher.
"That humans gained dominance because brute force lost our to reason...and love. That's why I parted ways with Veloci long ago." Miss. Moyinham explained to them. "But now, global warming and modern technology have allowed Veloci to improve his Primordial Ooze to the point it can mutate human and animal DNA into Dinosaurs."
"We're dinosaurs." Buzz said, Syrus rolled his eyes at his slight slowness. "How cool is that!" He said to the rest of the group. "But I don't want to be a dinosaur! I want to be a quarterback!" Max complained. "This is much more important than fulfilling your personal desires. It's about saving the World." Miss. Moyinham explained to him and the others. "Can you cure us Ms. M?" Max asked their teacher. "Yes."
"No, Buzz is right. We got to work together and stop Victor Veloci." Rodger said. "How are you going to stop him? You can't even do a lab project together." Miss. Moyinham pointed out. "I say we give our Dinos a test drive." Fiona said. "I want the cure!" Max said. Caruso and Buzz then said their reasons at the same time. Syrus, well, he didn't know what to think. Did he want to be cured like his cousin, or did he want to keep his Dino side and stop Veloci like Fiona and Rodger?
"Enough!" Miss. Moyinham said, causing those who were talking to stop.
~That Night~
Out in the ocean, the shark that ate most of Caruso's jacket swam through the Ooze that infected the six students. Its DNA started changing and the shark turned into a mutant Megalodon that let out a roar when it finished changing. It then swam towards a dock boat and chomped the stern off, causing the boat to sink. It then swam away, towards the harbor.
*Syrus' POV*
We had just arrived at the lighthouse where Miss. Moyinham lives. I looked around in amazement. "Wow!" Rodger said when he saw where our teacher lived. 'I wonder what she has that can cure us?' I wondered.
"Well, I can't afford the advenced technology Veloci has, but I've managed to monitor his activities and impede him whenever I can." Miss. Moyinham explained to us. We looked around in amazement at the tech our teacher had. I had to resist the urge to tinker with all the tech she had. 'I resisted this urge the whole time I was at Duel Academy, I can still resist it now! But I haven't ticked around with tech in so long!' I thought. I looked at my hand and saw it had gone Carnotaurus on me. "Great." I quietly said sarcastically as I stared at it. After a few minutes it returned to normal.
"That's all great Ms. M, but can we get started?" Max asked, knowing I was having a hard time keeping myself from messing with all the tech Miss. Moyniham had. "Of course." She replied, walking to a table that had two blaster-like objects, one blue and the other orange, on top.
She picked up the blue one. "This is the DNA Chiller." She explained to us. She then pointed it at us, causing all six of us to gasp in slight fear. "Relax. It won't hurt." She explained to us. The blaster then shot out a white mist towards us. "The nitrogen will force the mutant DNA to the surface as it seeks warmth." She explained to us. I saw what looked like what appeared on my skin.
Miss. Moyinham put the Chiller back down and picked up the orange blaster. "This is the De-volver. It will vacuum the frozen DNA for safe storage." She explained as she used the Devolver to suck up the water like liquid on our skin. She smiled when she was finished.
"That's it?" Caruso asked her. "That's it." She answered. 'Simple, but effective.' I thought. "Thanks." Max said to our teacher, grateful that he was cured.
"Come on, Fiona, let's go." Buzz said, walking away. He then tripped on a cable "Oh!" Buzz said, expecting to land on the floor hard. But he grew Pteranadon wings and started instinctively flapping them. This caused him to hover a few feet above the ground. We all stared at him in shock. But none were more shocked than Miss. Moyinham.
"I thought we were cured!" Max said to our teacher. "So did I." Miss. Moyinham said, placing a finger on her chin.
~Meanwhile~*No One's POV*
"Research log entry 12 Alpha. Satellite scanners have located a mutant Megalodon approximately ten meters in length." Veloci said, monitoring the mutant Megalodon.
~Back at the Lighthouse~
"Somehow, the DNA nucleotides have been fused by gamma contamination." Miss. Moyinham said as she examined her students' DNA. "Your DNA is not like any other I've seen in Veloci's experimental mutants. Something's contaminated it." She then turned to her students. "I'm afraid I can't cure you." When she said that, a slightly guilty look appeared on his face. 'Is it my fault? I did come in contact with all those cosmic energies while I was at Duel Academy.' He thought with sadness, blaming himself for him and the others not being able to return to normal.
"What? How am I supposed to live constantly changing into a dinosaur?" Max said, unknowingly causing his cousin to feel more guilty. "It will be all right, Max." Miss. Moyinham said, trying to calm him down. "How?" He asked her. "I can show you how to control your new abilities so that you can become dinosaurs at will." She explained to all of them.
Just then someone spoke over the radio. "This is the Sea Spirit calling Kittery Lighthouse. Either we've got a new species of whale in Kittery Harbor, or the Loch Ness Monster is lost." A man said. When he said that last part, Syrus gave a slight chuckle at the joke. 'Wait, don't some people think that Nessy is a Plesiorsaur? And after what Ms. M told us today, it might be possible.' Syrus thought.
"Probably just a Humpback, Ollie. But call me back if you see any mermaids." Miss. Moyinham said, causing Ollie to laugh. "Sure will." He then signed off.
Miss. Moyinham then turned on a monitor. On it was a moving orange dot. "Its a mutant Megalodon!" Miss. Moyinham exclaimed when a image of large swimming sea creature appeared.. "And it's heading for the marina!" Rodger added. "Miss. Moyinham, you have to stop that thing!" Caruso said to their teacher. "I can't do it alone, and neither cat you, but if the six of you can think beyond yourselves, perhaps we can stop it together." She said to them.
~A Few Minutes Later~*Syrus' POV*
We were all outside, me and the others were in a circle around our teacher. I was curious about how Miss. Moyinham will teach us to become dinosaurs at will.
Miss. Moyinham stood in front of Rodger. She opened her hand and a glowing orange Styracosaurus symbol was in her hand. She then placed the symbol on the left side of Rodger's chest.
She moved to Fiona and placed a glowing orange Spinosaurs symbol on her left shoulder.
Miss. Moyinham placed a glowing orange Stegosaurus symbol on the left side of Caruso's chest.
Buzz got a glowing orange Pteranodon symbol on his back. It looked slightly bigger then the others' symbols.
Just like Rodger and Caruso, Max got a glowing orange Tyrannosaurus Rex symbol on the left side of his chest.
I was the last one. Miss. Moyinham placed a glowing orange Carnotaurus symbol on my right shoulder. In my head I saw my DNA changing. I then saw myself transforming. First, as I lifted one of my feet, my feet and legs transformed into blue Carnotaurus ones. When big veins appeared on them, my hands and arms transformed into small, blue Carnotaurus arms and claws. My head turned blue as it transformed into a Carnotaurus head with glowing yellow eyes and a pair of yellow bull-like horns on top. I roared as I finished transforming into a blue Carnotaurus with yellow markings.
"Come on, guys! Let's go send that monster back to the Jurrasic Era!" Max said. 'He sure changed his mind fast.' I thought.
"No! It's no more a monster than any of you. It's just a wild animal trying to survive. You have to save it, not harm it." Miss. Moyinham explained to all of us. "She's right." I said. 'This Megalodon is kind of like Atticus when he was possessed by Nightshroud and when Sartorius was possessed by the Light of Destruction. It's someone who needs saving.' I thought.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Rodger asked her. 'Not the same way Jaden save Atticus and Sartorius, that's for sure.'
A few minutes later, Miss. Moyinham took us to a garage. "With these." She said to us before we walked into the garage.
As we looked around we walked up to a table that had two familiar blasters on top of it. "The DNA Chiller and the De-volver." Miss. Moyinham said. "Fiona, take the DNA Chiller. As long as that mutant Megalodon' genes haven't been contaminated like yours, it'll do the trick." She said as Fiona picked up the blue blaster. "And I'll take the De-volver." Rodger said as he picked up the orange blaster. But then he accidentally pressed the trigger and the De-volver started sucking in the white cloth that covered a white boat of some kind. "Can I borrow that when you're done? My bedroom's a mess." Buzz said.
I then took the orange blaster from Rodger. "I think it'll be best if I take that for now." I said as got to work getting the cloth out of the De-volver.
"I'll track you on my scanners and do my best to get in Veloci's way. Take the Dino-hydrofoil. Good luck." Miss. Moyinham said before we got into the white boat, with Fiona at the wheel. We then started heading towards the Marina.
~Meanwhile~*No One's POV*
The mutant Megalodon swam towards a fishing boat, which someone was on. "Oh." A fisherman said when he thought he caught something and grabbed his fishing rod. He grunted as he tried to reel his catch. A few seconds later the Megalodon's head rose above the water, growling. This caused the fisherman to scream and to let go of his rod before he ran away. He then dived into the water. He surfaced a second before the Megalodon bit into his boat. When he saw that, the fisherman started swimming to shore as the Megalodon started eating the boat.
"Uh, one mutated fish species big enough to swallow us without noticing, dead ahead." Buzz said as he looked through binoculars. Syrus gulped in fear. He was the smallest in the group of six, meaning that he had the most to fear when it came to being swallowed by the Megolodon without noticing. 'I think what I went through at Duel Academy was safer than this.' He thought before looking through the binoculars when Buzz gave them to him. He saw the Megolodon was chasing a fisherman. 'We better hurry.'
When Buzz and Syrus were sitting down again, the roof covered them and they dived down underwater. A few minutes later they resurfaced.
"As soon as he shows his overbite, you chill him, I'll spill him." Caruso said to Rodger. It was then the Megalodon jumped out of the water and dived back down under the water, causing the two to lose the two blasters. "Uh-oh." Both Caruso and Rodger said when the De-volver landed on top of a crane and the DNA Chiller sinked to the seafloor. "Cool move, guys." Fiona said. "Next time we do something like this, don't stand on the edge of the boat so we don't lose the Chiller and De-volver you two." Syrus said to them.
The Megalodon the resurfaced and roared at them.
"We got to work as a team!" Max said to them. He then turned to Fiona. "Fiona, you're on the varsity swim team, right? Are you willing to dive in after that Chiller?" He asked her. "No problem." She said to them. "Especially since you can turn into a Spinosaurs, a dinosaur that's made for the water." I added. Me and Fiona then did a fist bump. "Buzz. Get that De-Oozer thing." Max said to the green haired teen. "It's called a De-volver Max." Syrus said to his cousin with a light roll of his eyes. "Caruso, Rodger, Syrus, and I will trap the mutant."
The six of them then did hands in the middle. "Go Dinos!" They said as they did.
A few minutes later Fiona dived into the water with a waterproof flashlight. They then went to the dock, where Buzz got off and went to get the orange blaster.
Fiona swam towards where Syrus said he saw that Chiller, while also keeping a look out for the mutant Megalodon. As she picked it up, she pointed her flashlight towards something in front of her. That something being the Megalodon, who opened its eyes as Fiona's flashlight light landed on one of them. It then roars at her, causing Fiona to drop the Chiller. It then charged at her. Fiona then turned into a gold-yellow Spinosaurs with a large dark brown sail going down her back. She then jumped out of the water and dived back down, with the Megalodon chasing her.
~Meanwhile~
"What's this?" Veloci said as he watched Fiona being chased by the Megalodon. Thankfully he didn't see her transform. "A perfectly-formed Spinosaurs is in the harbor. this could only be a result of my experimental DNA, or..." Veloci said in a recorder.
~With Miss. Moyinham~
In the lighthouse Miss. Moyinham was on a computer, working on de-activating the cameras Veloci is using to watch the Megalodon.
~Back with Veloci~
Veloci was watching the screen when it became nothing but static.
He tried to fix, but his eyes turned dino-like and snarls in anger.
~Back with the Squad~
Fiona swam under the dock and grabbed one of the legs(s) as the mutant Megalodon swam by. She then started swimming towards the Chiller.
Meanwhile Buzz was climbing across the crane to the De-volver just as Fiona grabbed the Chill with her Spinosaurs teeth and headed to the surface.
Buzz was reacher for the De-volver when the Megalodon jumped out of the water and pulled off part of the chain. This caused both Buzz and the De-volver to fall off. "*screams*Go Dino!" Buzz said before he transformed into a lime-green Pteranodon with an orange underbelly and lighter green wings. He then screeched as he avoided getting chomped by the Megalodon. He then flew towards the De-volver and grabbed it with one of his talons.
When he flew towards Fiona, she threw the Chiller towards him and he caught it with his other talon.
With the others they were in the Dino-hydrofoil, with Matt at the wheel.
"Get closer! I'll broadside him with a cannonball." Rodger said to them. "But we're not supposed to hurt it!" Caruso said to him. "Trust me." Rodger said before he jumped out of the boat. "Go Dino!" He said before he turned into a light gray Styracosarus with reddish-brown markings on his face and on his back. He then bellows a roar as he somersaults into a cannonball beside the Megalodon.
Syrus then jumped out of the boat and turned into his Carnotaurus form and tackled the mutant Megalodon before it dived into the water after Rodger. The Megalodon roared at him to try and scare him off, but Syrus just roared back with a slightly louder roar. The Megalodon then jumped at Syrus, pushing him under the water. The Megalodon then jumped after Syrus and swam away, causing the human-turned-Carnotaurus to swim after it.
"Let's get the net." Max said to Caruso as he docked the hydrofoil and the two ran towards the net. But before the two got to it, the Megalodon stuck it's head through the dock.
"What now?" Caruso asked as the Megalodon climbed through the hole it made onto the dock completely. Syrus then surfaced and climbed onto the dock. He then jumped onto the mutant Megalodon's back to try to keep it from diving underwater again, being careful not to hurt it. But Syrus was only half the size of the mutant sea creature, meaning he won't be able to hold it for long.
"Pump fake on three!" Max said to Caruso.
"One, two, three!" Caruso counted.
"Get prehistoric!" Max said before he turned into a dark green T. Rex with dark reddish-brown splotches on his body and a lighter green underbelly. He then picks up Caruso and throws him over Syrus and the mutant shark-turned-Megalodon. Syrus uses his bull-like horns to keep the Megalodon's mouth shut.
"Go Dino!" Caruso said before he turned into a Stegosaurus with upper half being dark blue like Caruso's hair and the lower half being grayish-blue with fourteen red plates going down his back and five spikes on his tail. Once he landed by the net Caruso grabbed it with his tail spikes. Syrus jumped off of the mutant Megalodon as Caruso threw the net over it.
Caruso and Max grabbed the back and front of the net with their teeth, Fiona and Rodger re-surfaced and grabbed the sides. Together the four of them kept the Megalodon down.
Syrus was about to jump back on top it's back when the dog and cat from their field-trip ran up to them.
Fiona tied up the corner of the net she was holding before she transformed back and climbed out of the water and on to the dock. Syrus also turned back into his human form. "Do we have to save you two again?" Fiona asked as she and Syrus grabbed the dog and cat before they ran into the Megalodon.
Just then the Megalodon freed its head from the net and snarled at them, causing Syrus and Fiona to fall to the ground. This caused the dog to turn into a mix between a dinosaur and a dog with a head that looked like a T. Rex's. Red spike-like hair was on his back. And his teeth and claws were larger.
The cat also transformed, but into a mix between a Smilodon and a common house cat, complete with two long fangs sticking out of her mouth. She also had spike-like hair along her back, but it was blue instead of red.
The Smilo-cat(See what I did there?)jumped on top of the Megalodon's head while the Dog-saur bite through a telephone pole, causing it to fall into the Megalodon's mouth.
The transformed cat and dog ran to Fiona and Syrus and jumped into their arms. The dog licked Fiona while the cat nuzzled Syrus. "*laughs*I guess not!" Fiona said. "That's for sure!" Syrus said as he scratched the Smilo-cat on top of her head.
Buzz then flew down as Max put a foot on the Megalodon's head. He put both the blasters down before he transformed back. Buzz then picked up the blasters and pointed the Chiller at the mutant Megalodon. "Ha ha! I knew it! Playing video games isn't a complete waste of time." Buzz said as he blasted the Megalodon with nitrogen mist. He then used the De-volver to suck up the orange Ooze. "You Ooze, you lose." Buzz said when he was finished.
The Megalodon then turned back into a normal Great White Shark.
As the group and the two house-hold pets that can turn into a mix of themselves and dinosaurs, not back into their normal forms, got into the Dino-hydofoil as they heard police sirens heading towards them. But not before they put the Great White back into the water.
They were able to get far away from the dock before the police showed up.
~In the Morning~*Syrus' POV*
We were all back in Miss. Moyinham's lighthouse home.
"Did you see the way I duped that monsterous mutant?" Caruso said, causing me to roll my eyes at him. 'You wouldn't have been able to dupe that mutant without Max.' I thought. "You? What about me?" Buzz asked.
"Hold it! What about all of us?" Max asked.
"Max is right. The reason you were able to return that shark to its natural state without harm to you or it is because you finally worked as a team, and I'm proud of you all." Miss. Moyinham said to us, causing me to blush in embarrassment at the praise. "Thanks, Ms. M. We couldn't have done it without you. You're the man. Er, the woman." Max said.
It was then the news came on the computer screen. "And in Kittery Point last night, several frenzied residents reported seeing dinosaurs at the marina. But authorities report it was Tony Fine's promotion for a dinosaur of a tire sale." A reported said.
"Look at that-just a big balloon." Caruso said, not happy about not getting on the news. "Actually, Caruso, if you think about it, they're not too far off. You are full of hot air." Fiona said.
~Meanwhile~*No one's POV*
"It won't be long before I know all the details of my new dinosaur friends." Veloci said, not knowing that his so-called 'new friends' were actually going to get in his way.
~Back at Kittery Point~*Syrus' POV*
I was in my room, writing down game ideas I got after learning everything me and the other learned yesterday, when my phone rang.
I looked at the caller ID, seeing it was Zane, as I picked it up. "Hey big bro!" I answered, turning on the video call. I smiled when I saw that Zane was back in the clothes he wore before going all dark. "Hey Sy. I heard what happened at Kittery Point, are you okay?" He asked, obviously worried.
"Zane, it was just a balloon those people saw. Not an actual dinosaur." I said with laughter in my voice. But I was also worried that Zane won't believe the balloon thing.
"Sy, someone posted a video about actual dinosaurs working together to take on a Megalodon." He said, causing me to inward freak out. "It was probably fake, big bro. Made by someone who wants attention." I said to him, hoping he would buy it.
"*sigh*I guess you're right." Zane said.
Just then the cat who can turn into a Smilo-cat(a combo of a Smilodon and a house cat)jumped onto my shoulders. She purred as she nuzzled me. "Who's the cat?" Zane asked me.
"This is Cinder. Me, Max, and our lab group found her during our field-trip yesterday." I explained while scratching Cinder's cheek. This caused the cat to purr.
Me and Zane continued to talk for a few minutes. I was happy that Zane was able to find a new manager that wasn't like his last two. 'I hope his new manager will get Zane some dueling gigs here in the States.' I thought.
