"What do you mean we're back in your world?" Alexis questioned him.
It wasn't exactly easy to explain, so Ash put that on the back burner for now.
"Let's just say that we somehow appeared here." Ash simply stated.
Teddiursa opened it's eyes and saw Jasmine.
It then wrapped it's paws around Jasmine's neck and hugged her.
"How sweet."
Ash had a idea why Teddiursa was really hugging her.
"Um Jasmine, he's not just hugging you because it's sweet." Ash told her.
He went on to say that when a Pokemon hatches they imprint on the first person they see.
"Aw, no fair." Mindy complained, pouting.
"Hold on! It thinks I'm it's mother!?" Jasmine was flustered.
Jasmine then started freaking out.
"I'm too young to be a mom." She cried. "What am I going to do?"
"You know. I might be able to help." Alexis offered her assistance.
She didn't quite understand what Jasmine was going through, but it was essentially like looking after Pikachu.
They took a walk around the area. To the west was a cave entrance.
'Are we in Vermilion City?' Ash thought.
A blue-haired girl was in the city to compete in a Pokemon Contest. Walking close by was a small blue penguin.
At the same time...
The others were exploring Vermilion City. Ash had hid Pharaoh before they entered the city. He didn't want their cover to be blown.
'I also don't want Pharaoh to be mistaken for a Pokemon.' He thought.
They take a look around the area, having split up into pairs to cover more ground.
Ash's group, which consisted of Alexis, Jaden and Pikachu, headed towards the Pokemon Center and bumped into the blue-haired girl from earlier.
"Sorry about that." Ash apologized.
"It's okay." The blue-haired girl apologized.
Alexis and Jaden had no idea who this was, but Ash and Pikachu did.
"That voice." They recognized who was speaking.
"Ash." The blue-haired girl spoke.
"Dawn." Ash said her name.
The two then hug each other. Dawn then proceeded to hit him on the head.
"Ow. What was that for?" Ash complained.
"You suddenly disappeared and caused us to worry!" Dawn yelled.
"It's not my fault!" Ash waved his hands.
"Then who's fault was it?" Dawn asked.
Jaden then got between the two.
"Chill out." Jaden suggested.
"This doesn't concern you." Dawn snapped.
Dawn then calmed down after snapping at Jaden.
"Sorry about that." She apologized for her outburst.
Alexis had a worried expression on her face.
She witnessed Dawn and Ash's interaction. It was like a couple arguing.
A devious smirk then formed on Dawn's face.
"Did Ash disappear to find a new girlfriend?" She asked.
"N...no." Alexis started freaking out and tried to deny it even though she was excited about that prospect.
Ash and Jaden had no idea what she was talking about.
"Are you serious?" Dawn sweat dropped.
"Oh boy." Alexis sighed.
"There are two Ash's now." Dawn commented.
"Why are you wearing similar outfits?" Dawn asked.
"Oh, we're in the same dorm." Ash told her.
"Uh oh." Ash realized he slipped up after saying that.
"Are you kidding me!" Dawn yelled.
"You disappeared to go to a school!" She screamed.
"Uh...Uh." Ash tried to make a excuse.
"I'm his tutor." Alexis came up with a great excuse.
"He was in such a hurry he forgot to tell people he was leaving and he also forgot to study. That's why I volunteered to tutor him." Alexis responded.
Dawn sighed.
"Another typical Ash screw up." She said with reptilian eyes.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Ash demanded.
Piplup then came over to them.
"Pip." Piplup said.
"Whoa, a talking penguin." Jaden was startled.
Dawn and Piplup stared at Jaden, slightly confused.
"What do you mean?" Dawn asked.
Alexis placed her hand over Jaden's mouth.
"He's hallucinating."
"Okay." Dawn didn't completely believe them.
Dawn then came to a realization.
"Where's Pikachu?" She asked.
The three nervously laugh.
Flashback
Mindy was trying to hug the cute Pokemon.
"You can hold onto Pikachu for a while." Ash offered.
"Yay!" Mindy cheered.
Pikachu sweat dropped.
"Pikachu is with one of Alexis's roommates. Her name is Mindy." Ash explained.
"Why?" Dawn asked him.
"I offered to let her hold onto Pikachu." Ash answered.
"What for?" Dawn asked.
"She likes cute animals." Hearing this made Dawn wary.
Once again, Alexis covered his mouth.
"Will you excuse us." She then led Jaden away.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"What?" Jaden had no idea what was wrong.
"You didn't need to say that." A frustrated Alexis told him.
"I still don't understand." Jaden admitted.
Alexis smacked her forehead.
"Animals don't exist here. There are only Pokemon like Pikachu and Teddiursa."
"This still doesn't make sense."
Dawn then turned to them as Alexis tried to salvage her excuse.
"Forget he said anything." Alexis waved her hands frantically.
Mindy's group then arrived.
"Hey there." Mindy called out.
She then noticed Piplup and hugged it, rubbing their cheeks
"You're a cutie!" Mindy squealed.
"Is this the friend you mentioned earlier?" Dawn asked.
Alexis nodded.
Chumley and Syrus blush after seeing Dawn.
They thought she was really cute.
Dawn then noticed them.
"Hello." She greeted.
"I'll impress her first." Chumley said.
"No I will!" Syrus yelled.
Syrus stepped forward.
"Hi, I'm Sy." Chumley then shoved him out of the way.
"Hey, name's Chumley. Would you like to grab a bite of grilled..." Syrus then gave Chumley a wet Willie to move him out of the way.
"Sorry about that. As I was saying." Chumley then tackled Syrus and both fought on the ground.
"What is going on?" Dawn whispered to Ash.
"I have no idea." Ash didn't have a clue.
Bastion and Mindy then proceeded to run towards the others.
They had panicked expressions on their faces.
"Where's Prof. Banner?" Ash asked, noticing someone was missing.
"He's looking for the police." Bastion answered.
"What for?" Jaden questioned.
He then observed Teddiursa holding onto Jasmine scared.
"What's happening?" He asked.
They then hid in the bushes.
After some time, it was safe for them to come out of the bush.
They then made their way over to some cages.
"Who did this?" Alexis, Jaden and Ash were shocked.
"No way." Mindy was shocked as well.
There were a bunch of injured Pokemon. Among them was a small light green dinosaur like Pokemon that had a bulb on it's back and small yellow chicken Pokemon.
"A Bulbasaur and Torchic." Ash gasped.
"They're Shiny." Dawn added.
Both wondered who had done this.
"What's a shiny Pokemon?" Jaden asked the two.
Dawn stared at him in disbelief as Bastion and Alexis proceeded to elbow him.
"Did you seriously just ask that question?" Alexis exclaimed.
"Well, in his defense Jaden's not used to this." This calmed Alexis down.
"I'm sure she would be willing to explain." Bastion offered a excuse.
Mindy suddenly vanished while they were talking.
Alexis eventually realized that her roommate was nowhere to be found.
"Where did Mindy go?" She asked out loud.
She had made her way over to the cages after picking up a rock.
"Time to get you out of there." Mindy threw the rock at the cages with all her strength.
"What are you doing?" The others asked, after approaching her.
"Freeing these two cuties." Mindy responded.
"They could return any minute. We should wait for the police." Bastion shook his head.
"Think about it. You won't be able to destroy those cages with a rock." Alexis pointed out.
Mindy couldn't argue with the logic that was presented.
"Maybe I could." Dawn said.
She held a Poke Ball up.
"Come on out, Mamoswine." Dawn released a large Pokemon with brown fur, a blue mask and two tusks.
"That's so cool!" Jaden exclaimed in awe.
"Hold on Jaden." Bastion called out to him.
"Even the large ones can be cute."
Mindy was squealing.
She then asked if Mamoswine could break the cages.
Mamoswine stomped over to the cages and shattered them like they were cardboard.
Mindy then picked the shiny Bulbasaur up.
"I find you adorable."
The shiny Bulbasaur was overjoyed to hear this.
The hunters then made their way back.
"Our client is going to enjoy their purchase." One of the hunters told the other.
"No way!" The second hunter yelled.
They saw what was going on.
"Who destroyed our cages?!" The first hunter furiously demanded.
They then noticed the gang.
Both hunters stormed over to the gang. They then released their Pokemon, a Grimmsnarl and Gardevoir.
"Looks like you want to do this the hard way." Ash prepared himself for a battle.
They readied Pikachu and Mamoswine.
"Don't leave me out of the fun." Jaden joined in.
He wanted to take the hunters down as well.
"Aren't you going to use any Pokemon?" Dawn asked him.
"I don't have any Pokemon." Jaden reminded her.
"Are you kidding me!" Dawn yelled, annoyed.
The shiny Torchic then noticed Jaden and ran over to him.
"Looks like Torchic wants to help you out." Ash noted.
The Pokemon fought for a while even though Jaden had no idea what Torchic's attacks were.
"Let's do it." Jaden declared.
"Open fire." The shiny Torchic shot fire balls out of it's mouth.
Torchic tilted it's head in confusion.
Dawn smacked her head.
"Use Ember." The shiny Torchic released more fireballs from it's mouth.
She was annoyed with Jaden.
They failed to notice the Gardevoir about to attack Dawn.
"Dawn, watch out!" Ash yelled.
It was too late though.
Jaden pushed Dawn out of the way before a attack hit her.
"Are you alright?" Jaden asked while on top of her.
Dawn was slightly embarrassed by this.
Jaden then noticed another attack heading their way and shielded her as his deck glowed.
He then realized nothing hit them and turned around.
"Huh, we're okay?" Jaden blinked.
Elemental Hero Flame Wingman covered them with it's body.
"Flame Wingman!" Jaden exclaimed in shock.
"No!"
Flame Wingman nodded.
Ash was awestruck after seeing Flame Wingman.
Pikachu was then hit by Grimmsnarl after being distracted.
"Pikachu!" Ash yelled out in concern.
"Hold on!" Ash exclaimed as his deck glowed and Blue-Eyes emerged.
"What is that?" Dawn asked, panicked.
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Jasmine looked at it with a stunned expression.
"That's totally unbelievable." Bastion whispered.
Alexis and Jaden were left speechless.
"I have no idea what that is, but I'm sure it's worth a fortune!"
"Attack it with Moonblast!" The hunter ordered.
Moonblast didn't seem to faze Blue-Eyes.
"What? That should've worked." The hunter had no idea why it wasn't affected. "Dragon types are weak to fairy moves."
Blue-Eyes then retaliated with Destruction Burst Stream.
This knocked Grimmsnarl out. The hunter was starting to panic after his Pokemon was incapacitated.
"That's one tough dragon." Dawn marveled.
A stream of fire came out of the dragon head on Flame Wingman's left arm and burned Gardevoir.
The hunters return their Pokemon and run away as fast as they can.
"We aren't paid enough for this."
The two hunters then bumped into Officer Jenny and Prof. Banner.
Officer Jenny seemed to recognize the two men.
"You're the hunters I've been looking forward. You're coming with me."
She led them away after cuffing them.
Dawn and Piplup stare at the group with suspicion.
"Someone needs to tell me what's going on." She glared at the group.
Meanwhile...
Prof. Banner followed Officer Jenny.
"Thanks for your help."
"You're welcome." Officer Jenny replied.
She then escorted the men to jail.
After she left, the group made their way over to Prof. Banner.
Prof. Banner then caught sight of Dawn.
"Who's she?" He asked.
"Her name's Dawn. She traveled with me across the Sinnoh Region." Ash gave him a brief explanation.
"Ash said you can help explain." Dawn added.
"Explain what?" He was confused.
"Oh I don't know, MAYBE THE TWO MONSTERS THAT ATTACKED THE HUNTERS THEN SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED!" Dawn hollered.
Banner stared at her before facing Ash.
"Oh that." Ash then figured out what she meant.
The gang then headed to the Pokemon Center.
"What is going on?" Dawn asked.
Banner then showed her his cat Pharaoh.
"Cute." She thought Banner's cat was adorable and felt like petting it.
She then looked at her Pokedex, but there was no information available.
"What the heck?"
"Pharaoh's not a Pokemon, he's just a cat." Banner explained why she didn't find anything on the Pokedex.
Dawn was confused. Ash and Jaden's decks then glow as Winged Kuriboh and Rainbow Kuriboh emerge from them.
"No way!" Dawn gasped.
"So cute!" Mindy screamed.
The two then fly around Dawn.
"You two sure are friendly." She smiled.
"Well..." He then went on to say that those were Duel Monsters.
"Duel Monsters, huh? Sounds interesting."
"I've been attending a school known as Duel Academy during this time."
"Good to know." Dawn replied.
"I'll say." Ash nodded.
A few seconds later...
Dawn felt like she understood enough about what was being said.
She was a little freaked out.
"Are you alright?" Bastion asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I am." She nodded. "What's the plan?"
"We need to figure out a way to get back to Duel Academy."
"Wait WHAT?!"
"You're leaving just when you came back home without telling your mom?!"
"I should probably take care of that real quick."
Ash went to the phone and called his mother.
The call system was out of order though.
He then rejoined the others.
"It wasn't working." Ash told them.
Ash decided to visit his mom since he missed her.
Mindy approached Nurse Joy.
"Hello." She greeted Nurse Joy.
"What can I help you with?"
"Mind telling me about the injured Pokemon."
Nurse Joy was more than willing to tell her.
The shiny Bulbasaur then rubbed against her leg.
"Bulbasaur really likes you." Nurse Joy told Mindy.
Mindy thought about it for a moment.
"Would you like to come back to Duel Academy with me?" She asked Bulbasaur.
The Bulbasaur leaped into her arms. Of course it wanted to go with her.
"Yay." Mindy celebrated Bulbasaur coming with her.
She then heard her roommate.
"Are you serious?!" Jasmine yelled.
She wasn't happy about this one bit.
Mindy went over to her friends.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Ash wants us to stay longer to see his mom!"
She then noticed Bulbasaur in her arms.
"Good to know." Mindy stated.
"What are you talking about?" Jasmine questioned.
"I'm bringing this Bulbasaur with me."
"No it's not!" She complained.
The gang then walked all the way back to Pallet Town.
They then stood in front of the Ketchum residence.
"Here goes nothing." Ash prepared himself to knock on the door.
He knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.
"Hold on." Alexis stepped in.
"What's the problem?" Ash looked at her.
"In case you haven't noticed, we're strangers in a unfamiliar world." She pointed out.
"Have you lost your mind?!" Jasmine snapped.
"Prof. Oak might be able to help. We're near his house."
"Alright then." Alexis nodded, ending the discussion.
That's where they headed next.
"Hopefully, the professor's home." Ash knocked on the door.
A few seconds later...
At a train station
The group boarded a train.
"Next stop Prof. Oak's house."
"Neat." Jaden spoke.
