Chapter 8

Erik led Allie up to the main front of the theater by the stage. She noticed policeman standing there talking to the managers. Her intention looked back at Erik for a moment, then back to what was going on. "I got to take care of this," she said, walking out to the front.

"Thank heaven you're alright," Andre noticed her walking up to them.

"I'm fine." Allie looked over seeing one of the seats covered." Why is this covered?" She walked over to it, noticing blood still on the seat from the guy who was injured from the chandelier.

"Detective, good to see your ok," one of the officers came up to her.

"Were you harmed?"Firmin asked her.

"I'm fine. As long as I cooperate with him, he will ensure my safety. Also, I want to know why the hell no one has been out here cleaning this chair? It's a hazard, I want this chair removed and replaced," She ordered the cops to get the chair out.

Erik listened and was impressed with how she handled things. He also learned that she was one of the head people in the police department.

The managers have been trying to get them to remove the chair, but for some reason, it has not happened yet. "I want whatever is on top to be inspected before anyone does any performance on this stage. I'm not chancing any injuries. Next show we will have a couple of police officers watching over things."

"We appreciate your help," Firmin said nicely.

The three policeman followed her out of the building, getting someone who would take out the chair. The managers had the guys who worked the curtains to ensure the safety of the equipment above. Allie had to head to her office to grab some things she needed. She was gone for a few hours returning to the opera house.

When she returned, the rehearsal was going on with the ballet dancers. Madame Giry nodded at seeing her walking in. Allie grabbed one of the managers as he was walking her way. "Andre, any word of Christine?"

"She will be back this evening her and sir Raoul have been out since yesterday," he answered her. They talked a little longer, and he handed her Erik's payment. It was in a medium-sized pouch.

She left, holding a bag of files and the bag looking for Erik. "Erik," she called for him in the darkness.

"I'm behind you." She turned around seeing him standing there handing him the medium pouch.

"Let's go," she looked at him. He led her to his lair, taking the shortcut. They arrived, and she set her stuff down on the table going through it.

"You didn't tell me you were one of the head people," Erik replied.

"You didn't ask." He laughed a little at that.

"What's all of this?" He saw her getting files out.

"Cases that aren't closed. I will warn you they are a little graphic." Erik didn't seem phased by it looking at some of the pictures.

"Most women would faint after seeing these. It shows that you can tolerate quite a bit." He said, still looking at pictures of dead bodies.

"Guess that's why most would call me strange and unusual." She looked at him.

He looked at her, wrapping an arm her waist, pulling her close to him. "You are mine, my love. I will never let anyone hurt you. I will give you everything," He kissed her hand.

"I'm not the type that wants everything. I just hope you can keep up with me."

"There is nothing that will come in my way." They both kissed, holding on to one another. Erik felt like he was no longer lonely anymore. She was his everything, regardless of whether she knew or not. Erik felt her hands starting to wander as they kissed. He pulled back, stopping her and looking at her breathing heavily.

"What is it?" She looked at him a little concerned.

"You don't know what you do to me. I don't want to do something I'll regret. I need to know that you love me," He said with his tone being serious.

"I care about you, but I.."Allie said with tears in her eyes.

"What is it?" Erik asked

"I was in love once, and he hurt me. I promised I wouldn't love again married to my job. I've been with the police for a long time. I've seen things from murders to whatever," Allie explained.

"I could never hurt you, and I know how you feel. You have taught me not to dwell on the past and move on. I feel I can do anything because of you," Erik looked at her, wiping the tears from her eyes.

He knew he could be patient with her. For some reason, Erik thought there was a lot more she had gone through than what she had told him. His arms wrapped around her as he held her. Erik loved how she was kind and respected him by not just pulling his mask off when they met. It just made him want her even more.

They broke apart, and Allie cleaned up her mess on the table. Erik watched her with nothing but love for her in his eyes.

"I don't want to come in between you and Christine. You were in love with her, I was just there in the midst of it all."

Erik approached her, getting closer to her. His hand pushed her chin up to look at him. "You're not in the way, my love. I'm just being patient with you, knowing you're not like the others."

"Erik, I see you are alright," Madame Giry approached them. He knew that she knew how to get down there. She was the only exception who was allowed to come down there without getting killed.

"I'm fin, what bring you down here?" Erik asked her.

"Sir William is looking for you, Allison. Please come with me." Allie looked at Erik a moment, then back at Madame Giry.

"I'll be right back," Allie looked at Erik.

"I'll follow behind." Erik said, being protective of her.

Allie was led out to the front of the opera house from the auditorium to the front. William was standing there waiting for her. "Hey," she hugged him briefly.

"Remember the theory we discussed," he reminded her.

"The whole how to get you back home from time travel?" She asked him.

"Well, there is a storm if we put you in front of lightening. Maybe it will work," William suggested.

"Ok, how much alcohol did you drink?" She asked him.

He took her hand, dragging her outside as they walked further away from the opera house. He stopped a carriage, having them go to a graveyard. Erik followed behind, wondering what this guy was doing with her.

They got out of the carriage, and William paid the driver. He left them while William had him follow him through the graveyard. "What are you doing?" Allie said, not believing g what he was doing.

"Look," he pointed at the ground.

"Ok, a black hole. What's your point?" She questioned him.

"This was never here until people started noticing it," he looked down at it.

A couple of men came out from behind a tree. "We'll look at these two." They started approaching them.

"You dragged me me out here. Why?" Erik was around hiding seeing the men approach them.

"Aren't you lovely?" The man started grabbing at her, and she turned around punching the guy. They started attacking them, and Erik came out from hiding, fighting them. William stood there speechless seeing this man in a large black cloak fighting them. Allie got her hands on one of them. The guy turned around, somehow shoving her into a gravestone.

She got up, grabbed Erik's sword, and he dropped, ready to attack him with it. Instead, Erik took it the sword from Allie, literally slicing the guy on the arm. They got up getting away and Erik but his sword away. He grabbed Allie, helping her turn around and seeing the boy who led her there.

"How dare you put her in danger. You're lucky I don't kill you. Now leave before I change my mind." Erik's tone was angry.

They road back silently to the opera house. Erik knew a secret way in which lead them all the way down to his lair. He held her hand until he made it to his entrance, letting them both in.

"I'm not sure what his reason was, but he will not come near you again," Erik's tone sounded serious.

"I thought he just wanted to talk, not drag me to a graveyard," Allie sighed.

Allie took off her small jacket, noticing a scratch on her arm. Erik noticed, grabbing something to put on it and a bandage. "Who taught you to fight?" Erik asked her.

"I studied martial arts. Besides, I could have handled those guys," She answered him. He put something on her arm that stung a little. She winced a little but started getting used to it. Erik was shocked at how well she took getting a bad scratch. He wasn't used to this at all. More women seemed to hate any sort of pain. The scratch was more than just a small one. It would heal, but it wasn't bad enough to need stitches.

Erik finished bandaging her up. "He is not allowed around you anymore," Erik looked at her.

"What am I five? Sorry, I'm not used to someone telling me what to do," Allie said, annoyed.

"I saved you, and you don't even appreciate it. You spoiled little brat," Erik raised his voice.

"I'm not spoiled, and I sure as hell not even close to it. I'm not here just to put up with your crap." She argued back.

Erik got close to her, grabbing her, pushing her against the wall. "Don't tempt me, my dear, you are mine," he got close to her face, tightening his grip.

She was able to push him off her, but he got a hold of her again holding her still. Allie couldn't believe how strong he was. "Like you would."

Erik also wasn't used to a woman who wouldn't back down. she was so beautiful that he knew he couldn't hurt her. "This proves to me you won't." Allie tried getting out of his grasp as he held her arms still until his lips crashed over hers, kissing her. Her hands started tugging at his pants, trying to remove them.

She somehow got a good hold of them and was easily able to slide them off. Before they could have gone any further, he stopped hearing something close. Erik got his pants together before walking over to check. When he saw them walking closer, it was none other than Christine.
