Ricardo sits with Clara in one arm, his phone in the other as he scribbles notes. Alicia joins them and leans into his shoulder, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Hey," he greets her with a smile.
"Hey," she says back, tickling Clara's cheek as the baby squirms and babbles. "How's it going?"
"Slow," Ricardo says. "I'm trying to finalize this card, and it's frustrating."
Alicia leans in and takes the phone from him, looking his notes over. "You still need to get contracts signed by four of the competitors?"
"Yeah," he sighs. "The twins weren't sleeping well this weekend and I've been too tired to really handle things right so I took a break, but then I failed at getting back to work, so I've just been sitting here since Clara woke up, staring at these notes for I don't even know how long."
"Poor baby," Alicia coos, leaning in to kiss him. "How about this, you take a nap, and I'll take over for awhile. I'll even see if I can get your signatures for you."
He blinks up at her, then shrugs. "You'd do that?"
"Of course," she says with a smile. "You look wiped out. Go to bed, Ricardo. I'll update you on things in a couple hours."
"I love you," Ricardo murmurs.
Alicia smiles at him. "I love you too. Now go." She takes Clara from him and lightly pushes at him until he stands, stumbling sleepily towards their bedroom. She looks down at Clara and quirks an eyebrow. "You'll indulge me right, little one? Mama has some work to do." She kisses Clara's cheek and settles in to begin handling the messages on Ricardo's phone.
Ricardo sleeps most of the day away, and when he wakes up, it's well after midnight and Alicia is sprawled out in bed next to him, fast asleep. His phone is on the table next to his side of the bed, and he collects it, eyes widening as he thumbs through his emails and finds contract after contract signed and agreed to. He leans in and lightly kisses Alicia once it's all registered with him. "I love you," he murmurs to her. "So, so much."
She smiles in her sleep and cuddles up close to him, perfectly content.
