Hello everyone! I started working on this chapter on Monday, but I wasn't able to finish writing. But now I can! I hope you all like it!
Disclaimer: I only own my FCs!
Two weeks have passed and everyone did their best to keep an eye on Luke whenever he tried to wander off. Larry caught him before he could crawl out of the castle. Later on, Roy found Luke crawling in the halls, heading towards the dungeon. Roy chuckled as Luke pouted, wanting to crawl around and explore. Luke tried to grab Roy's sunglasses, but Roy moved his hand away. Luke whined in protest, but calmed down when Roy gave him to Ludwig.
A few hours later it was starting to get late and everyone was getting tired. Iggy and Tiana took Tammy and Izzy to their rooms after they fell asleep. The rest of the Koopa family, with the exception of Morton and Roy who were out, made it upstairs later on to get ready for bed. Ludwig yawned as he made his way to the nursery. When he arrived, he saw Jasmine sitting on the rocking chair, trying to make Luke fall asleep. Unfortunately, Luke wanted to play instead of sleep.
"Come on, Luke! You gotta go to sleep." Jasmine said.
Luke just let out a squeak noise as he continued grabbing at Jasmine's hair. He snuggled against her, looking happy and peaceful in her arms. Jasmine and Ludwig smiled as they watched Luke. Luke yawned, but tried to stay awake.
"See? You're sleepy! You have to go to sleep, Luke!" Jasmine said. Ludwig chuckled as Luke pulled Jasmine's hair in response.
"He really wants to stay up." Ludwig chuckled again.
"I know. But it probably won't be too long until he falls asleep." Jasmine replied.
After a few minutes, Luke finally fell asleep. Jasmine put him in his crib, Ludwig turned off the light, and the two left the nursery. The two made their way to their room, got into bed, and quickly fell asleep.
Luke woke up a few hours later. He sat up and looked around the dark nursery and smiled, seeing that the door was open. He got up, climbed out of his crib, and gently landed on the floor. Luke then crawled out of the nursery and into the hallway. Everyone was asleep, so they didn't hear or see him. Luke eventually made it to the stairs and carefully climbed down.
Once he was on the floor, Luke crawled around, exploring the castle. Then, he saw the front doors of the castle and giggled. He went over to the doors and saw that they were slightly open. Luke pushed them more, opening them. He crawled outside and noticed that the guards were asleep. Luke crawled away from the castle and smiled, ready to explore.
He made his way to a town in the kingdom and saw a few buildings that were still open. Luke looked around and saw a green warp pipe up ahead. He giggled and made his way to the pipe, crawling through it. When he came out, he was in another part of the town. Luke clapped and crawled around the town, looking at everything that caught his eye.
Morning finally arrived and Jasmine was the first to wake up. She yawned, stretched her arms, and put on her glasses.
"I should go check on Luke. He's probably awake already." Jasmine said to herself.
She got out of bed and made her way to the nursery. When she arrived, her eyes widened when she saw that the crib was empty. Jasmine ran into the hallway and looked around, but didn't see her son. She then looked in a guest room and the bathroom, but still didn't see him. The rest of the Koopa family were woken up by Jasmine's scream. Ludwig quickly got out of bed and made his way to the nursery, the others following after.
"Jasmine? What's wrong? Is Luke alright?" Ludwig asked, seeing his wife trembling.
"L-Lu-Luke isn't in his crib! I didn't see him in the hall, the bathroom, or the guest room!" Jasmine exclaimed, still trembling.
"H-He got out of his crib?!" Ludwig asked, growing concerned.
"Let's not panic, guys! Maybe Luke's somewhere in the castle." Wendy said.
"You're right. Let's just try to stay calm and look around." Ludwig replied.
Everyone quickly began running around the castle, searching for Luke. They looked in the kitchen, the dining hall, the throne room, and even the Great Hall, but Luke wasn't found. As Ludwig and Jasmine made their way downstairs to have another look, Ludwig gasped. The front doors of the castle were open. How did no one notice? The two rushed over and went outside, looking at the guards.
"Our son is missing! Have you seen him?" Jasmine asked, a worried look on her face.
"We haven't, your majesty." The first guard said.
"No one's seen him? The front doors have been open! Possibly all night!" Ludwig replied.
"W-We opened the doors when Prince Roy and Prince Morton came back, I guess we didn't close it all the way." The second guard said.
"Lucas isn't anywhere in the castle, so he must've crawled outside at some point this morning. How did you two not see him?" Ludwig asked.
The guards smiled sheepishly. "We...We kinda fell asleep."
Everyone went silent. Then, Ludwig and Jasmine exploded.
"YOU TWO FELL ASLEEP?! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE GUARDING MY CASTLE!" Ludwig screamed.
"Our son is out there somewhere alone and you guys don't know 'cause you fell asleep on the job!?" Jasmine yelled.
The guards trembled in fear and tried to calm their king and queen down. Unfortunately, their attempts failed and only made the two more angry. The rest of the family, hearing the two shouting, rushed outside, trying to calm them down. After a few minutes, Ludwig and Jasmine eventually calmed down, but were still pretty mad. Jasmine looked around, trying to spot Luke anywhere, but didn't.
"He could be anywhere! Luke is probably scared and hungry! He could be-" Jasmine stopped her sentence as a horrifying thought came to her mind. She began to tremble again.
"Jasmine, what's the matter?" Ludwig asked.
"Ludwig, we live in the Koopa Kingdom! There's volcanoes and lava in this place, but especially near the castle! What if...What if he-"
Jasmine began to hyperventilate, not wanting to finish that sentence. Ludwig walked closer to her, trying to help her relax.
"Jasmine, don't worry. Luke isn't hurt or worse. We'll find him and we can alert everyone in and around the kingdom to keep an eye out for him. Let's not fear the worst, alright?"
After a few minutes, Jasmine finally calmed down. She nodded and hugged Ludwig tightly.
"You're right. We gotta stay positive. I just hope that Luke's alright." Jasmine said.
Ludwig hugged her back and kissed her forehead. "Let's try to eat something. Then we can alert everyone and search for him."
Jasmine nodded and followed Ludwig and the others back inside of the castle.
I hope this chapter was good! I'll work on the next one soon!
