Bo smiled and choked back tears as she kissed her wedding rings. "Bo, I won't be able to sleep if you keep doing that." Lauren whispered.
"Oh, I will help you go back to sleep." Bo smiled as she kissed the inside of the blonde's palm and wedding rings, again.
"I put you to sleep, wife of mine." Lauren laughed.
"You said it." Bo replied softly.
"Huh? I said what?." Lauren rose up on her free hand.
"I am your wife. You are my wife. We are wives." Bo felt warm tears fall as she swamped Lauren's hand with kisses.
"Are you okay?." Lauren gently nudged the woman.
"Never better. Never better." Bo smiled as she finally turned to face the woman. "Thank you."
"For?." Lauren raised an eyebrow.
"For saving me. For marrying me. For all of it." Bo pinned the woman to the bed. Lauren almost laughed as long dark locks tickled her nose. "Bo".
"I know this is weird and worrisome to you but it is not to me. You saved me, Lauren. I was ready to go. Ready to hit the streets again. Not at all knowing how to stop killing people that I slept with or fed from. I never met or found a succubus until after you had already told me I was one of them. I thought I was a real life horror film monster. My life is no different than anyone else. I just feed in a different way. I was starving and hungry for something. I wasn't sure what it was until I met you. Every moment we had together was feeding one hunger while the rest of me longed for more. The more we had that night and right now. You are my wife. Mine. You saved my life and many others since you helped me learn how to control my feeds. Now, I never need to feed from a stranger again because everything that I hunger for and need is right here." Bo kissed the woman's hand again and her stomach before raising back up. "I love you."
"Bo, I love you too. But you never need to thank me. I was glad to help. I know being a doctor can be a thankless job but it's who I am. I would help anyone in need. A lot of times, I could have helped the Fae but some of them thought so little of me that they rejected everything that I tried to say and do. I don't do these things for thanks. I do it because it is who I am. Lauren Lewis to the Fae and now Lauren Lewis-Dennis to the rest of the world. You saved me too. You saved me from believing I would die in this world. That the Morrigan would have her Elders and the Light Elders subject me to a horrible death with drinks at the Dal Riata afterward. They were never going to free me. They were never going to replace me until I died. That's why I was their Chief Medical Examiner. They didn't trust any human but me. I had to play that game so long, I was starting to believe that was it. That it was all going to end there. Nadia was in her coma. I was a walking zombie doing the same things day in and day out. Then they brought you to the Ash. That's when my gloom and doom ended. I knew you were going to change my life as I knew it, and you did. That was part of my fear of you challenging Vex. He is so strong and you didn't know what he could do. I knew you were a succubus, I just didn't know what your particular succubus is capable of..". Lauren spoke softly.
"She's capable of love. Loving you. Protecting you from any and everything. From everyone including yourself when you are tired. Which means it's my turn to make you fall asleep." Bo pinned the doctor on her back, kissed her and made her way down her body.
Hale
Hale sat at his desk. He heard the rumblings and voices from the squad room. Just like he and the elder Santiago had suspected, they aren't happy that he is suddenly Captain but in reality, there is nothing they can do about it. Short of Hale resigning, there is nothing anyone can do about it. King Keldon created this mess and won't likely say another word about it. Unless the siren makes it a problem. He took a breath and leaned back in his seat. He never aspired to be Captain. He was happy being Detective until Dyson left him with all the paperwork because he was chasing the new skirt on the scene. Well, the newest skirt that Dyson chased is married and related to Hale's superior. He can't even remember Bo but seeing her may trigger worse things than him openly flirting with her. "What a freaking mess." Hale put his head in his hands and sighed.
"Breakfast, my boy." Kenzi strolled in.
"Kenzi, I told you to watch how you talk to me and close the door." Hale looked up.
"I always call you boy, they know that." Kenzi shrugged.
"Call me Captain at least." Hale walked to a small table and stood as Kenzi unpacked the food.
"So, what is the agenda today? I hope it is to find everyone." Kenzi took a bite and a seat.
"I'm a Captain now. I can't get up and go. I can't slack off and I certainly can't go find Bo for you." Hale drank some juice and set the glass down.
"Whoa. Did I say Bo?." Kenzi looked up.
"Everyone is code for Bo. I won't go looking for her. She's literally royalty now. I don't think the King would be happy just showing up without calling and they are on their honeymoon. My balls would be scattered all over the globe if I overstepped right now." Hale quickly ate his food and threw the trash in the bin.
"Bo and I aren't done. We will never be done. If I can just get her alone and talk to her, I can probably soften her enough to make amends with Lauren too." Kenzi rambled off when she noticed Hale about to protest.
"You're crazy, Kenzi. Bo and Lauren are so far out of our reach that you need to drop your arms from trying. Do the smart thing, wait and see if they ever come to you. Or if Bo does. Lauren might never need to. She was probably just putting up with you because you came with Bo. Now, she doesn't have to. She's free and her don't give a fucks are free in the wind too." Hale washed up at the small sink and took another seat. He leaned back a little more in this chair. He closed his eyes and took a breath.
"I went about it the wrong way. Bo is married now. She's with Lauren. She's softened. I can get them back into the fold. Our fold." Kenzi took a seat on the other side of the room.
Hale turned to his left and picked up his phone. "It's the Captain. Request an audience with King Keldon." He hung up and leaned back.
"That's it my boy. That's a start!." Kenzi clapped.
"Good luck talking to the King." Hale waved her out.
"What? That was for me?! I can't. I'm not ready. He comes with Aife. Shit!." Kenzi screamed.
"Lower your voice in my office. You want to play with the big boys. Besides Bo and Lauren, respectively, it doesn't get any bigger than Aife and the King." Hale sighed.
"Dude you just openly ambushed me and I never left the room. Now, you can't take it back and if you don't go and nobody goes, he will be humiliated thinking someone wasted his time." Kenzi walked around the room.
"He's not Trick. His patience is very thin. That's the only pep talk you are going to get from me. You better go shower and change because they are back in town." Hale read his text messages. His request had been granted. "You have thirty minutes. Not a second more."
Kenzi rolled her eyes and walked out. What would she wear? How will she get there? She swallowed hard. What would she say? What would they say? What would Aife do? Her skin crawled in spots that she never knew she had. She felt like a child that was late getting home after curfew. Like a buffet to starving lions. Shit. Shit. Shit. She thought. She thought she would get Hale to help her negotiate a meeting with Bo and Lauren, not be thrown face first at the King's throne.
Keldon and Aife.
"Santiago wants an audience with me." Keldon sat in a chair looking out the window.
"He hasn't left the precinct. It can't be him." Aife laughed.
"Kenzi, like you and I both predicted." Keldon took a drink and a breath.
"My King, she will keep going. She will never stop until she's in Bo's good graces again." Aife nursed her own drink as she watched the old man. She saw Isabeau in his face.
"She wants to clown me, huh? Then I shall watch her dance until it stops amusing me. As far as my kids are concerned, they are off limits. If we have to keep her ass on a leash, she will stay away from them." Keldon smiled and took another drink. Aife knew that grin. It's the same one the old Queen had when she was thinking something wicked. It would be the last memory she ever had of her mother.
"Your kids." Aife smiled.
"My kids. My great-granddaughter is married to her wife. That makes them my kids." The old King took another drink from one of his guards.
"She will be here soon. Watch her sticky fingers. If she so much as touches anything, cut them off." Aife ordered.
"I need to freshen up." The King stood and walked to a small washroom.
Aife waited for him to emerge. She bowed at the sight. He wore his crown and robe. He never not walked like the royal he is. She walked behind him and was gently touched on her arm. "He had this made for you." A guard spoke softly. The old succubus was momentarily taken aback. "This was mother's."
"I upgraded it. Now, it is yours, Princess Aife." Keldon spoke over his shoulder as he walked down the short hall and turned into the throne room. She gathered herself long enough to watch him climb the small dais, turn and take his seat. "Bring the young lady in."
"The King has manners, I don't, show the little bitch in." Aife waved her hand.
Kenzi cleared her throat and slowly walked beside two guards. When they stopped walking, she gasped and turned. Two massive doors opened before her as she was pushed inside. Her eyes went wide at the sight of the King on his throne. She had only seen images like this in movies or on the news. She walked slowly towards him with Aife flanking his throne.
"Why are you here? Don't lie because your motives are as predictable as your tacky boots." King Keldon spoke softly.
Aife laughed and he silenced her with his hand. "Sorry, My King." When he nodded the room stood deathly silent.
"I want to see Bo." Kenzi simply replied.
"Wow, you told the truth." Aife laughed again as she read the woman's aura. If she didn't pee on herself, she was certainly thinking about it.
"You will not see her without permission from the Princess, herself." The King replied.
"Bo will give me permission. So, you can go ahead and ask her." Kenzi spoke softly and dug her fingernails into her hand.
"Child you misunderstood. When I said Princess, I meant Lauren." Keldon laughed this time. "I will pass your message on to her when the time is appropriate."
"Good luck with that." Aife nodded and Kenzi was escorted out. She couldn't fight it. She couldn't say anything.
"Have her followed. I want to know everything that she does. If she so much as pisses wrong, I want to know. Track her phone and any mobile device that she gets her hands on." Keldon spoke softly as his orders were written down. "Give everyone my orders. If she gets within an inch of them, I will come down on this world like no Fae before me. She won't let them be and I won't let my distrust of her be either."
Aife stood in awe of his deep voice. "They have been settled for a few days. I suspect they will be back in the air in no time."
"Is the new jet almost ready?." The King turned to his left.
"It is being gassed up as we speak, Your Majesty." A guard bowed.
"When that's done, send it to replace the one they have been traveling in but do not disturb them. They will see it when they are ready to fly again." King Keldon stood and walked down to the floor. Aife watched in awe again. He didn't say anything. He didn't need to. Trick would always regret whatever he ordered, not this King. Either things are done as he instructed or harsh consequences would be coming. That was it. He was gone from his throne room. She heard his footsteps as he went back the same way he came. Powerful and silent.
Bo and Lauren
The women held eye contact and each other's heads as they stared at each other. Lauren's hair was now just as soaked as Bo's hair. "That was her wasn't it?." Lauren whispered.
"Yes." Bo whispered. She thought she was going to put Lauren to sleep but her succubus had other plans. The brunette has never felt so naked and vulnerable like she did at that very moment. "I was wrong earlier. You aren't my wife. You are hers too. I think she was just reminding me that we are all in this together. Forever." She leaned forward and gently kissed the doctor. "Lauren. " She whispered as she held the woman's head.
"I know. We need to go to bed but it has been hours and we haven't gotten sleepy yet." Lauren smiled softly.
Bo shook her head and smiled when it stopped. "We can go now." She fell backwards and gently pulled the doctor on top of her. There they rested until they could finally close their eyes. She smiled when Lauren started to lightly snore. Now, now she could close her own eyes. It was never going to happen while Lauren was somewhat conscious. She can rest when Lauren rests and not sooner. She thought about their first time and how she had to turn her succubus off that night too. She had gently kissed Lauren and turned the other way so that the doctor would get the idea and go to sleep. This woman. This wonderful woman is more than her wife. She's her journey. "Sleep, succubus, sleep." Lauren mumbled. Bo jumped like a child that had been caught up in bed after being told to go to bed. She smiled and held Lauren with both arms. Closing her eyes, she sighed.
The next morning.
Bo laid with eyes wide open. It was all that she could do. Lauren was still sleeping and she didn't want to move. Honestly, why would she? This is absolutely wonderful. Love in its purest form. The woman is literally sleeping on her chest. Sleeping to the sound of Bo's heartbeat. Being a doctor, if it sounded different, she would know. She can't do anything. Not even sigh. That sound would disturb this wonderful silence they are in. Their phones are on vibrate two rooms away. Bo didn't want to take the chance that the vibrations could and would disturb them resting as well as making love.
"Ready to go?." A soft voice pulled Bo from her staring.
"I'm fine where I am." Bo smiled.
"You are awake. You are not fine. You must want to go somewhere." Lauren smiled.
"Seriously, I'm fine. I just didn't want to wake you up." Bo rubbed the blonde's back.
"Well, I'm awake now." Lauren pulled up and looked around. It was still early but not late. "Breakfast time."
Bo jumped up after her wife did and ran to shower with her. They washed and kissed but nothing too extreme since Bo wants to make sure Lauren gets to eat actual food. An hour later they sat down to eat. "We gave them enough time, right?." Lauren asked.
"The crew? Yes, they have had enough time to rest and do whatever they want to do. If you are ready to fly somewhere else, just name it and we are there." Bo nodded.
Lauren sat back and thought. Where does she want to go now? The world is literally at her request. "Where do you want to go?."
"Huh? Me? I hadn't thought about it much. I will be content to go wherever you choose to go." Bo blushed.
"This is your honeymoon too, Bo." Lauren shook her head and squeezed the woman's hand.
"Lauren, we have the rest of our lives together. Every trip to the grocery store. To a postal service. To a mall. Everywhere we go and everything we do will be a lifetime honeymoon to me. Now, wife of mine, pick something." Bo laughed as she placed a map in front of the blonde. "There, you want to go there?." She gasped.
"Well, those baby crowns and tiaras are just sitting there. Aife can't make you a brother or sister, so we are next in line." Lauren smiled.
"Oh, you are on Dr. Lewis." Bo's eyes flashed blue.
"Hey! That's Dr. Lewis-Dennis, now!." Lauren laughed and playfully swatted at Bo's arm.
"Let's go make little Queens or Kings on the Nile in Egypt, then." Bo smiled as she pulled Lauren to her feet and practically ran with her out of their hotel suite and into their car.
