I threw my exhausted body onto the bed after hours of work.

Seriously, those girls aren't very good at taking care of themselves at all.

After introducing myself to Kyouka's team member, I was immediately bombarded with household chores.

First, I was told to dispose of the garbage that had piled up in the dormitory, luckily I didn't have to cross Mato to dispose of it because there are trash bins around the dorm.

After that, I had to cook dinner for them, for a moment I was afraid my cooking would not suit their taste, but luckily they liked it. Although that Himari girl didn't fully express it.

After dinner, I moved to clean the dorm. Honestly this dorm is very spacious, enough to accommodate 10 to 15 people. So to clean it takes a lot of time.

To do it all, it takes hours to complete. Therefore, after cleaning myself up, I was very tired and went straight to my room to rest.

I have reserved a room for myself, where I live now. The facilities are quite simple where there is a wardrobe, table and a simple bed which is enough to accommodate two people.

This job of mine will probably be the same forever, considering how bad they are at taking care of themselves.

But, well, I can't complain to them.

This is no different from my previous life. Because of my parents' field of work, they sometimes very rarely come home, making me have to take care of the house while taking care of my sister.

Nei Ookawamura, the innocent and youngest girl on the team, she immediately accepted me with open arms. I don't know why she was accepted into the team considering her age, but if I had to guess it's probably because of her abilities.

And lastly was the team leader, Kyouka Uzen. A girl who is strong and determined to achieve her goal of becoming the Commander of the anti-demon army, she was even willing to give up her body for someone she just met like myself.

No, I don't think she's like that. I still remember how shaking she was at that moment, she wanted to do it because she trusted me, I don't know if she trusted me completely or to some extent. But even so, I won't betray her trust.

She really wanted to be a commander, and I guess it wasn't just because the current commander was mushy, there had to be more to it. At least that's what I believe.

Nothing else to think about, I decided to sleep. But just then, my bedroom door opened.

When I turned to see who had entered, I saw Kyouka in her nightgown. She wears a black tank top and white hot pants.

I swallowed hard at the tantalizing sight.

"Kyouka? Do you need anything?" I asked her.

She didn't answer, instead she walked over to me and climbed onto my bed. She then pressed her body against me.

"K-Kyouka, what are you doing?" I asked nervously.

"Getting used to it," she replied.

It took me a while to understand what she meant.

But gosh, those big boobs stuck to my arms, I'm trying really hard to calm myself down at this point.

"What? Are you nervous?" Kyouka asked, it seems she saw my anxiety.

"You can't blame me here when a pretty girl clings to me."

Wow, I really did say that.

"Heh, you are brave too huh. Well, considering how wild you were back then I couldn't deny it."

"Come on now, you enjoyed it a lot back then too. I still remember your face back then," I teased her.

I seem to have succeeded, because I felt her body jolt.

"F-Forget it, okay?" she stammered, I could see the blush on her cheeks.

Then we made fun of each other. After a while, Kyouka sighed.

"I still remember how weak I was when we did that, maybe because it was the first time I had direct contact with a man. So I have to familiarize my body with you so that I am always ready at any time."

She really hates losing, doesn't she?

"You're really well prepared, aren't you," I said.

"Of course, in order to become a commander, I must be prepared to overcome all obstacles."

I looked at Kyouka as she said that, I could feel her strong determination but somehow it felt like something was wrong.

"What?" Kyouka asked, she realized I was staring at her for too long.

Maybe this is my chance to ask her too.

"No, it's just…. Hey, can I ask you something? You can not answer if it bothers you," I said.

"What is it?"

"Why do you want to be commander so much? You did say that the current commander is mushy, but I feel like there's more to it than that."

As I said that, I could feel her body shaking slightly. I think I touched a sensitive topic.

"I see, so you noticed. You're very thorough, Yuuki," she said.

"Well, one might say observing things is my forte."

Kyouka was silent for a moment, it seemed she was contemplating whether to answer my question or not.

"I used to be a victim of Mato too," said Kyouka.

"Hah?" I said without thinking, honestly I was surprised.

"Have you ever heard of the Gassan Oisawa incident?" she asked.

Gassan Oisawa? If I'm not mistaken that...

"Yeah, if I'm not mistaken it was the incident where the entire village was destroyed by those Shuuki," I said while remembering, then I snapped to a conclusion, "Wait, don't tell me…."

Kyouka nodded even though I didn't finish my words.

"Yeah, I'm the only survivor" Kyouka said, "Some people say that shuuki and peaches are the object of research, but I don't want anyone else to get hurt because of them."

Kyouka subconsciously gripped my shirt tightly.

"I'm going to exterminate them all, and to make that happen I need strength," she said.

Her words strong and determined, she released her grip on my shirt and sighed.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to open an old wound," I said apologetically.

"It's fine, since we're partners now, I guess you should know about it. Alright, let's sleep," she said as if running away, she then closed her eyes.

I remained silent for a few moments. Kyouka was already asleep, I could feel her soft snoring.

I'm going to exterminate them all.

So, she chose the path of revenge huh.

Somehow I had a bad feeling.

After a while I felt the drowsiness start to attack me, I gave up and started to drift off to sleep.

The next day, I woke up feeling refreshed. I looked at the clock on the wall, it was 5 in the morning.

"Looks like my sleeping habits haven't changed," I thought.

When I tried to get up, I felt a weight on my left arm. When I turned, I saw Kyouka who was still clinging to me fast asleep, she used my hand as a pillow.

For a while I stared at the girl sleeping beside me. Kyouka was a very beautiful woman, her silver hair was smooth and fragrant, and her body was perfect. In short she was a heavenly beauty.

In battle, she is a strong and sharp-minded girl. But now she looks like an innocent girl when she sleeps.

"To think that our relationship would turn out like this," I thought with a chuckle, I stroked her silky silver hair, "Maybe I'm a lucky guy."

Satisfied with enjoying the view, I decided to get out of bed. I carefully lifted Kyouka's head that was pressing against my arm, and replaced it with a pillow. She moved a little when I touched her but it didn't wake her up.

After making sure Kyouka was still asleep, I came out of the room to do my new daily routine.

I left the dorm to get some fresh air but was instantly crushed when I remembered where I was. The scenery in Mato hasn't changed at all, if the clock in the dorms wasn't there, I don't think it would be morning.

Giving up on getting some fresh air, I went back into the dorms and headed to the training area. There I practiced to increase my strength and stamina, from my transformation when I became Kyouka's slave, I realized that strength required a lot of stamina. So, I have to practice a lot in order to use that power to its full potential.

After feeling like I've practiced enough, I decided to go take a shower to wash myself off the sweat. The baths in this hostel are open-air baths like the public baths in Japan, you can also heat the water before taking a shower.

After taking a shower I saw that it was already 6. So I decided it was time to make breakfast for all the residents, they were all still asleep but just biding time for them to wake up.

I went to the kitchen and started cooking, fortunately the kitchen in this dorm has enough utensils and ingredients for cooking. So I'm not that hard.

While I was cooking, I heard the door shift indicating that someone had just entered the room.

When I turned my head, I saw Kyouka whose hair was a little messy coming into the room.

"Good morning," I greeted.

She turned to me, she just looked at me and didn't say anything. Maybe her mind isn't clear yet?

"Ah, good morning, Yuuki," she finally said with a little surprise, "You woke up earlier than me."

"Have to take care of a lot of things," I said with a shrug, "Clean yourself up, breakfast is almost ready."

"Heh, now you look like a real caretaker."

Maybe she saw my housewife-like appearance, I'm currently wearing an apron while cooking.

"Is that so? I think this has become my daily life," I said.

She chuckled before leaving the room, I then continued to cook.

Shortly after, the door to the room opened once again. This time it was Himari Azuma who entered.

In contrast to Kyouka whose nightgown was so revealing, Himari was wearing purple pajamas with white clouds drawn.

"Good morning," I greeted.

Himari turned to me, she just kept quiet and didn't say anything. Her reaction was the same as Kyouka's, whether it was me or them that was the weird one here.

"Ah, you," she said dryly, "you're up so early."

"I have to make breakfast for you and others, right?"

"Hoh, looks like you already know where you belong," she said with a smug grin.

"Yeah, yeah, now go take a shower. Breakfast will be ready soon," I said nonchalantly.

"Don't order me around, I know how to take care of myself," she snapped, then she left the room.

I sighed, Himari's disdain for men is indeed a problem, but luckily she's not as loud as when we first met, at least she still listens to me now.

The same thing happened to Shushu and Nei, and I gave the same answer.

I hope this isn't a routine we're going to face every morning. Because it's tiring.

Half an hour later everyone was ready and began to gather at the dining table, I then served all my dishes in front of them. We then started breakfast.

"Mmmm~ your cooking is really good, caretaker. I want to add more," said Shushu with satisfaction. She gave the bowl to me.

"Nei too!" said Nei while giving her the bowl as well.

"Me too," Kyouka said following.

I took their bowls and filled them with rice. Then I returned the bowl to them.

I then felt someone staring at me and turning to the source, it was Himari who was looking at me shyly.

"I-I want more too," she stuttered as she handed her bowl.

I just smiled a little before picking up her bowl, although her attitude was annoying, she was actually a good person.

A few minutes later we all finished breakfast, I gathered all the bowls to clean.

"By the way, chief. Do we have a mission today, since you're wearing a uniform?" Himari asked.

Come to think of it too, unlike the others who were wearing their casual clothes, only Kyouka was wearing a uniform.

"No, today I want to go to Yuuki's school to take care of his absence," said Kyouka.

"Eh, should I come along?" I said in surprise. Honestly I forgot about my school after coming here.

"No, I can take care of everything. And Yuuki, get used to yourself here since life here is much harsher than our world, it will help in our mission."

"Okay," I said.

"You should be lucky, since the chief would take care of everything for you," Himari said displeasedly to me. But she's right too.

"Thank you, Kyouka. Sorry to trouble you," I said to Kyouka, Himari's expression softened a bit.

"No problem. I'll be back around noon, until then be prepared," Kyouka ordered.

"Roger," we all answered at the same time.

After that, everyone returned to their respective routines. Kyouka went to the human world to take care of my absence from school after being recruited here, Shushu returned to her room, Himari went to the training area, and Nei went to wander around the dormitory.

As for me, since it's free time, I use this to clean up the dorm I didn't have time to finish last night. Before that, I decided to go around the dorm.

The dormitory is spacious, has two floors, and in the center is a courtyard where you can practice. From my point of view, I could see Himari practicing. Deciding not to bother him, I went to the second floor. The second floor is the girls' room, after reaching the second floor I felt that I had just been to a dangerous place, if one of them saw me it would be troublesome so I decided to go downstairs.

On the first floor, we have a kitchen and dining room which I used this morning, then there is also a living room and a place to relax. There is also some equipment commonly used in the gym. Overall, this place has enough facilities.

After the tour, I went to the barn to get a bucket, broom, mop, and other cleaning tools.

After that I started cleaning the dorm floor. Since the dorm is big, it takes a long time to clean it, after more than an hour I was almost done, all that was left was to clean the front of the dorm.

It only takes about 15 minutes to clean it. I'm currently standing in front of the dormitory to see the results of my work.

"Fuh, finally done," I said while wiping the sweat off my forehead.

Then I heard the sound of lightning behind me, I turned and saw in the distance the red mato sky, there were several lightning strikes.

The fun of working made me almost forget that right now I was in a dangerous place, Mato's sky had not changed at all, still full of dark red clouds with lightning flashing everywhere.

I heard something a bit unsettling, I turned and saw that my hunch was right. Not far from the barrier that was placed around the dormitory, a crack of earth formed, the crack of the earth growing wider revealing that something was about to emerge from below.

And sure enough, a Shuuki that was twice its size jumped off the ground and immediately ran towards me. The Shuuki then delivered a punch but was immediately restrained by the barrier around the dormitory.

Not only that, Shuuki who punched me was then scorched without a trace due to direct contact with the barrier. It proved that this barrier was extremely strong, much stronger than the barrier Kyouka had created.

Unknowingly, I held my breath as the Shuuki attacked. I breathed a sigh of relief after it was all over, for a moment I thought that the barrier wouldn't work, but it's an unnecessary worry if only one Shuuki attacks.

Yes, only one. The situation would be different if it was the Shuuki I fought yesterday.

"Caretaker, are you all right?"

I heard small footsteps behind me, when I looked back I saw Nei running towards me. It seemed she heard the commotion Shuuki made earlier.

"Yeah, luckily there's a barrier," I replied, "I didn't expect one to appear this close."

"Unit 7 is stationed at the southwest demon gate of mato, so there are often monsters here."

"Southwest gate?" I asked, this is the first time I've heard of it.

"Okay, you see. In the first place, that Mato is another dimension which is roughly the size of Tokyo," said Nei as he spread his arms, "Mato is divided according to the 8 cardinal directions, and each anti-demon corps is prepared in each of those areas."

"Hm," I understood, meaning that the headquarters was located in the center of the cardinal points, really convenient.

"Thank you. I'm helped, there's still a lot I don't know about this place," I tell her.

"Of course, Nei is your superior," she replied cheerfully.

"Hey."

Someone called us, specially me, it was Himari who was crossing her arms. Looks like she's done with her training.

"Don't waste time on unimportant chatter," she said, "Go make preparations for lunch, the chief will be home soon."

Uh, it's noon? I looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was already noon. Time passed quickly when I was at work earlier.

"Oh, yeah, sorry. I'll do it soon," I said. I took the cleaning kits to return to the warehouse. While I was doing that, Himari was still looking at me.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"Oh, nothing. It's just… I saw you earlier. It seems that you are not afraid of Shuuki who attacked you earlier. It's different from everyone's attitude after the Mato disaster," she said.

So she saw my calm demeanor when Shuuki attacked earlier, I guess it's only natural since my attitude is a little confusing. Kyouka was curious about it. But it can't be helped, I've experienced death itself.

"Honestly, there is indeed fear. But in order to help the team, I have to overcome my fear, I can't help if I'm always afraid, can I?" I said trying to give a satisfactory answer.

"I see. Looks like you seriously want to join this corps," she said.

"Well, it can't be helped. I like being able to help other people," I said with a smile.

I could see her eyes widen a bit, but I decided to skip that. After that, I started cooking for lunch. Kyouka came not long after that.

She told me that everything was going well and that I could start working here now.

Lunch time arrived, everyone started to gather at the dining table. Shushu who was hiding in her room came out and entered the dining room. After everyone arrived, I then served the dishes I had made on the table.

Like this morning, everyone enjoyed the food I made. Something I'm grateful for. Considering their job, I thought that they eat quality food but I guess I was wrong.

They were the elite Shuuki eradication corps, but they weren't picky when it came to food. As long as it's nutritious.

Speaking of Shuuki, I'm curious about one thing.

"Hmm? What's wrong Yuuki, looks like you have something to ask," said Kyouka who was chewing food. She's a sharp person.

"Well, looks like you guys are taking it easy today, shall we not go out hunting for Shuuki?" I asked. I've noticed since this morning, they look relaxed.

Himari practicing, Nei running around and playing, Shushu… I don't know what she's doing in her room. But the point is no one is preparing to go out to hunt Shuuki.

"Shuuki's appearance interval is uncertain, they might not appear for a week," Kyouka said as she took a glass to drink.

"In other words, have a good clean up until the next attack," said Himari with a grin.

I sent her an annoyed look, but now I understand how they work. It was almost similar to the job of a firefighter. I've seen firefighters relax so much when they're no longer working, but when the emergency alarm goes off, it doesn't take them a minute to get ready to go to the scene.

"How do we know Shuuki's attack is coming?" I asked, I don't see any alarms like the firefighters here.

"About that-"

"Ah!"

Before Kyouka answered, Nei who was sitting beside me gasped.

"Good timing," Kyouka said, then she turned to Nei, "You saw anything?"

"?"I just sent a confused look.

"Nei is a great clairvoyant, you know," said Shushu in response to my confusion.

"Clairvoyant?" I thought. I then turned to the youngest on the team.

But then I raised an eyebrow at the sight I saw, Nei who has clairvoyant abilities was groping like a dazed person.

"Umm… Ah….uh…" she said while groping here and there.

Suddenly Nei stared intently at a place, the changes were so rapid that her dazed appearance earlier was just an illusion.

"A gate has appeared, 5km to the north!" she shouted.

"Get ready, time to go. Prepare the vehicle," Kyouka immediately gave the order.

The girls went straight to their respective rooms to put on their combat uniforms.

Kyouka then turned to me, "Yuuki, wait at the front door."

I nodded and immediately moved. After a few minutes of waiting, I heard the sound of a car engine, when I turned to the source of the sound, I saw Himari driving a jeep usually used by soldiers, Nei was in the passenger seat. Then Shushu came out on her own motorbike. They all immediately headed in the direction Nei pointed.

"Wait! What about me?" I asked myself.

"Ready?"

While I was wondering frantically, I heard Kyouka's voice behind me. She's already wearing her uniform.

"Time to go," she said, holding out her hand.

My expression hardens and I nod. I unhesitatingly held her hand gently.

This will be my first mission in the Anti-Demon corps.

I kissed her hand and just like yesterday, my body changed and all my senses became sharp, I unknowingly roared.

This is the path I chose after getting a new life.

A path that in my previous life I couldn't get yet.

And this time I'm not going to waste it.

With Kyouka who climbed onto my back, I ran into the battlefield.
