The Second MUTO lets out a mighty roar that could shatter glass before rampaging to the city. Everyone was screaming and running away in fear as the big MUTO almost destroyed a casino. Owen glares at the MUTO before running inside the Elvis store, shouting at the people inside.
"Everyone get out of here now!" Owen ordered the terrified people.
Hearing the sound of roar, the people evacuated the store and made a run for it. Owen get the kids out of the building with Stan. They saw the Second MUTO wreaking havoc.
"Holy Smokes! That's what I call a giant monster!" Said Stan in shock.
"In the car, now!" Owen gathered everyone in the rented car.
As the kids get in the car, Owen hands Stan the key for it. "Take the kids to safety!"
"Uncle Owen?" Val asked in concern, looking at the window.
Owen looks at Val with a gentle look. "There are people that need help, Stan will get you all out of the city and to safety."
"But-"
"I promise to meet you back, but these people need my help." Owen said in assurance before kissing his niece's forehead gently. "Stay with them, okay?"
"O-Okay…" Val stutters worriedly.
Owen then looks at Stan. "Please get them to safety. And give anyone a ride out of here if you can."
"You can count on me!" Stan said in assurance before getting the car and starting driving it to safety. "Excelsior!"
As Stan drives the car away, Owen turns towards Destiny, who glaring at the Second MUTO, before glancing at Owen.
"Get ready to move, Destiny." Owen said before running towards the destruction, followed by Destiny.
The Second MUTO lets out a roar as it starts attacking the Eiffel Tower replica. Owen runs over there, followed by Destiny. Many people were running and screaming, and some were trapped within the rubble. Pleading for help.
"Destiny, save the people!" Owen ordered Destiny.
Destiny growled before biting her hand hard, drawing out pearls of crimson blood. When the blood makes contact on the ground, Destiny's clones emerge, charging forward with monstrous speed. Two of her clones quickly came in front and lifted their arms up to catch a huge debris, saving the shocked people.
"Go! Go! Keep running!" Owen ordered.
The people obeyed and ran for their lives. More of Destiny's clones rush to the debris and toss them away, helping the people trapped to scurry out of there. Running out of the dangerous area. However, some were severely injured, couldn't even stand up. So, Destiny's clones had to carry them out of the city with great speed. However, more and more people needed help, especially the ones in the buildings.
"Dest! We need reinforcements!" Owen yelled at Destiny while helping an injured man on his feet.
Destiny, who was secretly using her psychic power to prevent a building from falling over them, agrees. And looks around the area before spotting some ants crawling in a small ant hill. An idea came to Destiny's mind, knowing a solution that could help them all.
And as the saying goes.
Go big or go home. And Destiny chose to go big.
Biting her hand again, she draws more of her blood at the ant hill, making contact with the ant colony.
Meanwhile, people inside a tower were screaming on top of their lungs, holding on to the structure with their life. A female employee was holding on to the railing, screaming for help. Many tried to reach her, but they were too far. Soon, the woman lost her grip, screaming as she fell to her doom. But before she could fall, something caught her before she could. The woman gasped in shock when she found herself being caught by a giant-flying ant!
"OH MY GOD!" She screamed on top of her lungs.
However, the ant didn't harm her, instead, it brought her back safely to the building, shocking her and the others. Soon, Owen came, riding on a giant ant with wings.
"EVERYONE! GET ON THE ANTS! THEY'LL TAKE YOU SAFETY!" Owen yelled on top of his lungs.
At first, the people didn't want to. However, seeing that giant monster rampaging, they'll take their chances with the giant ants rather than staying here with that colossal beast. So, one by one, everyone got on the ants, holding them tight, as the flying insects took off to the sky, avoiding the rampaging Second MUTO. They weren't the only ones using these giant ants, Destiny was helping many people to get on the giant ants, and take them out of the city. By using her blood, she altered the Ant's DNA, made them grow big and can control them. And they obey her every command. Soon afterward, Agent Coulson landed the jet, allowing the Young Heroes to help Destiny.
"We'll take it from here, Destiny." Agent Coulson said to Destiny in assurance, "Just deal with that thing!"
He points directly at the Second MUTO wreaking havoc. Destiny understands and releases a vicious growl before running off to transform into one of her monstrous forms.
Val and her friends were in the car that Stan was driving through the destructive city. The Second MUTO continues rampaging throughout the city, scaring the lives of the people. Many people were injured and crying for help, but others were too scared and busy running for their lives to do so.
"Stan, stop the car! We have to help these people!" Quinn said to the old man.
"You got it!" Stan quickly stops the car and gets out with the kids to save the people.
"Damien, find us a big vehicle to get these people out of here." Quinn said, helping a woman on her feet.
Damien salutes before running off to find a vehicle while the others and Stan help the injured people. When Val was going to help, she heard a strange sound. She stops and looks around the destructive area for the source of the sound, but there was no one emitting the sound. The sound that resembles…a song…a song that her mommy sang to her before she passed away.
"Huh?" Val mutters out in confusion.
Before Val could think further, Damien came with a huge tour bus. "Guys! Look what I found!"
"Great job, Damien!" Quinn praised, not going to question how he got that, before turning towards the injured people. "Everyone! Get on the bus!"
Without second thought, the people got on the bus, helping the injured get to their seats. Stan takes the wheel since Damien had to help Gem bring an injured mother and her sons in.
"Stan, get us out of here!" Quinn said after getting Val on the bus.
"You got it!" Stan said before starting the bus. "Hold on everybody!"
Stan drove the bus to safety. The kids tended to the injured and scared people while some were praying for their safety and family. Meanwhile, Val looks at the back window of the bus to see the Second MUTO causing chaos in the city. She couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity towards it.
But as she looked, the Second MUTO turned its head towards the bus, as if it could see Val. The young girl's eyes widen by this, mouth gaping open in shock when she notices the Second MUTO looking at her direction.
However, before it could do anything, it was suddenly knocked down by another giant beast. Sending it crashing to the ground. The Second MUTO slowly gets up to see the creature that attacked it.
It stood 100 meters tall, roughly hominoid in that it has two trunk-like legs and a barrel torso, albeit encased in a black segmented exoskeleton. The top of the torso sprouts five armored tentacles, two of them ending in bone-blade pincers. They were all curled up to fit in the pod like a nest of sleeping boa constrictors. There was a thick twenty-centimeter prehensile neck supporting a nightmare head sculpted from bone that was polished down to a black-chrome gleam. The front was a shark-snout jaw with a double row of teeth, while the main dome was inset with deep creases. (The form is Khanivore from this Netflix series called Love, Death & Robots from episode Sonnie's Edge.)
And this creature was Destiny.
She took this form before when fighting off Tobi, when he turned into a rampaging Kaiju.
The Second MUTO roared at Destiny challengingly and Destiny returned the challenge. The two titans circled each other, growling and hissing at one another, asserting dominance to their deadly battle. The reason why Destiny is doing this is to distract the Second MUTO while the heroes and the giant ants rescue every person in the city. So far, they got half the population out. But they need to get them all out.
The two giants roared and collided on another, biting, scratching, hitting, and kicking. Both Titans show tremendous strength and durability, but neither of them will back down. Destiny can't use her energy power because she will risk hurting the people, who became even more scared when they saw Destiny's form. But she was too focused to even care about their fear. While they fought, Stan drove the bus to safety with the people and the kids inside. While little Val watches the Second MUTO and Destiny fights to the death.
Meanwhile, Agent Coulson was able to call in airships to gather all the people and bring them to safety. The heroes and Owen had to work fast to get everyone to safety. Firefighters came to aid them, saving as many as they could. Destiny made sure to drag the Second MUTO a clearing, far from the people and buildings, but it was hard because the buildings are close to one another. Destiny delivers a deadly punch, sending the Second MUTO crashing to the ground.
But with that impact, caused a nearby building with people inside to almost topple, causing Destiny to hold onto the building while using her psychic powers to prevent the people from falling off the windows. The Second MUTO was going to attack, but Destiny released a flash ball from her jaws, which exploded into a blinding light, disorienting the Second MUTO. The parasitic titan roared, backing away, shaking its massive head, trying to clear its line of vision. But only saw white and flashes. It tried to find Destiny by using its hearing, but Destiny opened her jaw and released a frequency that only animals could hear. The Second MUTO roars in pain, shaking its head as it tries to make the ringing stop. Yet it was too much for it and it had no choice but to leave the barely destroyed city. Destiny stops when the Second MUTO was far from the city before helping the people get out of the building. They were shocked to see this strange monster that was helping them.
Once the humans were safe, Destiny's monster form dissolved into a black mist, scattering about, making everyone dumbfounded on what just happened. They were not aware that Destiny turned back to her human form inside an abandoned building before reuniting with the others. S.H.I. . came to prep up a refugee camp to aid the injured. Many people were terrified on what just happened. Firefighters and officers worked together to help the people along with the medical team. The giant ants helped a lot by bringing the people that couldn't go far. They leave them alone as they went to the city to save more. Destiny still has control over them, and will be helping many more people to get out of the city.
Then the bus with the Jurassic World Kids and the injured people came, parking close by. The kids and Stan helped many people out of the bus as the medical team came to their aid. Owen saw them and quickly rushed over. Val smiles and holds up her arms, and is scooped up from her uncle, welcoming his warm embrace.
"Are you all okay?" Owen asked the kids in concern.
"Sort of…everyone is shaken up by that attack." Quinn said to Owen, watching as the people injured are getting proper medical treatment. "It came out of nowhere and…and…"
"Hey, it's okay." Owen said in assurance. "Just stay close to camp, okay? We're going to be transported by our friends soon, back on the island."
Quinn nodded before running off to help the others. Owen holds Val in his arms, comforting her after she witnesses something terrible, thinking that she was scared. Yet, unbeknownst to him, Val wasn't scared. Instead, she wasn't showing any signs of fear, just innocent curiosity. She was looking towards the direction of the Second MUTO, heading to an unknown destination. She couldn't help but wonder…why did she feel a connection with that creature? And why was it…lost? So many questions, yet no answers.
Later on, they were brought back to Isola Della Vita, where they discussed the two MUTOs and Monarch with the Predacons and three Cybertronian scientists. They were discussing the recent MUTO attacks in Hawaii and in Las Vegas. Now, they are dealing with an ancient being that was going to fight the two parasite aliens. So far, it sounded like a good idea, but also a dangerous one. If those three massive titans fought, they would surely cause major damage in any city if they battled there. They needed a plan of action, fast.
"Okay, what have we got so far?" Dark asked, looking at the holographic image of the two MUTOs and Godzilla.
"Basically, the two MUTOs are male and female." Answered Vida, enhancing the size of both MUTOs. "The one with wings is a male and the bigger one is a female."
"But it doesn't explain why the female MUTO was able to hatch for all those years." White Tiger said to the group. "Why hatched now?"
While they pondered, Spider-Man recalled the explanation of Serizawa when they were in the
"I get it now!" Spider-Man said in realization.
All eyes were on Spider-Man. "What do you mean?" Asked Owen.
"Dr. Serizawa said that male MUTO was young when it first hatched and burrowed straight for the power plant in Janjira when it was the nearest source of radiation. It cocooned there for 15 years, absorbing all the radioactive fuel until it finally hatched and matured."
"Spider-Man is right." Lex said to the group. "Since the Female MUTO was an adult, she stayed dormant when the male was too young when it hatched, she must have waited for him to fully mature and heard his call."
"His call? What call?" Nova asked nervously.
Lex looks at him seriously, "His mating call."
"M-Mating call?" White Tiger asked nervously.
They all nodded as Lex continued the explanation. "That is what the female was waiting for. For the male to mature, so they can court, seek radiation, and to reproduce."
"Did you just say reproduce?" Iron Spider asked almost fearfully. "As in…creating…more of them?"
"That is what they are doing." Dark said to the group. "They're going to populate this planet with their younglings and this could be bad."
"H-How bad are we talking about?" Kid Arachnid asked fearfully.
"I'm talking about Earth being destroyed badly." Dark said to Kid Arachnid and everyone in a dead serious tone. "If those MUTOs reproduce here, they would break the Earth's ecosystem, overpopulating the Earth with their babies."
"And they would constantly seek for radiation." Vida added with a serious look. "And 32 countries have nuclear power plants."
"But if they attack those power plants…they would also release radiation." Owen said with wide eyes. "And if they ran out…"
"Let's not think about that." Dark said, looking at the group. "Right now, we have to stop those two parasite titans from reproducing and getting that giant prehistoric lizard back to where it came from."
"And how we're gonna do that when we can't face those things!" Nova pointed out. "The only one who could go head on is Destiny or that Godzilla! I've seen the movies. Only a monster can fight a monster."
Owen and Dark glanced at each other and to the group. "And that's why we built one."
His words got everyone, minus some, to be confused at his words. Wondering why he says they built one? Owen already has the explanation.
"After we escaped Mortem's monster island, me, Dark, and Marco told Foxtrot about the Kaiju and the incoming danger." Owen explains as walked over to Foxtrot at the edge of the upper level. "We conducted an idea to create our own monsters, similar size to Destiny's and Zilla Jr."
"That is why we created something strong and capable of fighting a Kaiju." Foxtrot turns around towards the black window behind them.
The lights opened and the group were flabbergasted at the sight. Inside the room stood a 79 meters tall giant humanoid mech. It has a faded blue paint job and has a reactor on the center of its chest. Everyone stared at the giant mechanoid. Everyone, minus the serious ones, had their jaws dropped at the sight of the mechanoid. They looked back at a grinning Dark and then to the mechanoid again.
"Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to our new friend, the Jaeger!" Dark announced.
"Jaeger?" Nova asked in confusion.
Yunna, a techno-organic, answered. "Jaeger is German for Hunter."
"Huh, good name." Spider-Man complimented.
"Thank you, now with this bad boy dubbed the Gipsy Danger, we can have the upper advantage against the MUTOs."
Damien grins at the cool mechs and rubs his hands. "Sweet! Let's test out this bad boy!"
"Not so fast, Damien." Foxtrot said, stopping the boy. "Even though we successfully built the Jaeger, there were setbacks at first."
"What do you mean, Foxtrot?" Asked Spider-Man.
"We created this Jaeger to be controlled like a VR system. It would've worked, however, we calculated the Jaeger's neural load and it could be risky for the pilot." Foxtrot explains the situation.
"What do you mean?" Aggie asked.
Diamond Silk, a Instecticon Spider femme, explains the next situation. "We combined the energy source for the Jaeger which consists of Energon and the island's power source. But when we run the diagnostic fifteen times…the neural load to interface with a Jaeger proved to be too much for a single pilot."
This made everyone worried. This Jaeger could be their only last line of defense against the Kaiju. But hearing the risk, no one dares to lose someone in that process. They couldn't take that risk.
"However, we have theorized a solution." Foxtrot said, showing them a holographic simulation for the test. We discovered that when using the Jaeger, it requires two pilots."
The holographic image shows two Jaeger pilots controlling the Jaeger, "By using two pilots controlling the left hemisphere and right hemisphere pilot. Two pilots in one body. A symbiotic relationship if you will."
"That's amazing, Foxtrot." Quinn complimented.
"Yes, it is, but there is a problem." Foxtrot shows them charts and data. "In order for the pilots to have control over the Jaeger, they must be in perfect sync for it to work. And in addition, they cannot do separate moves when piloting the Jaeger, it would damage their mental minds in the Drift."
"The…Drift?" Power Man asked in confusion.
"The Drift is a mental process that two Jaeger pilots undergo before synchronizing with the Jaeger itself." Foxtrot explains the Drift. "While Drifting, the pilots will lapse and experience Random Access Brain Impulse Triggers."
"Uh…" Nova was confused by that.
Sage, a Cybertronian femme scientist, explain to him and the others simply. "Or R.A.B.I.T. for short. It's an occurrence where the pilots latch onto each other's memories. That way, they connect and understand each other. Once they are in sync, they will do the final process of the Drift called the Neural Handshake, which enables the two pilots' minds to manipulate their Jaeger's every movement. But if a pilot can become trapped in a memory they latch onto regardless of who the memory belongs to."
"Wow, that's harsh." Agent Venom said fearfully.
"And we put a phrase called "Don't chase the rabbit"." Dark added to the explanation
"So, what happens if the other pilot isn't functioning?" Asked Scarlet Spider.
"It's just a theory, but if something were to happen to the other pilot, the partner will suffer side effects that we called "Ghost Drifting"." Foxtrot shows them the side effects of "Ghost Drifting", making everyone flinch. "It is an unanticipated consequence of the Neural Handshake. That is why we can't test out yet until we have drift compatible pilots and we have to continue testing."
"No offense there, Foxtrot, but we don't have time for any testing." Owen said to her. "Those Kaijus are heading west to California. We sent an evac team to escort the people to the safe zone."
"You think they will be cooperative?" Asked White Tiger.
"Well, they don't have a choice because this is all over the news." Dark shows them the news feed of the Female MUTO and the Male MUTO. She also showed them the social media and chats from the people, all scared and panicking and some were showing that they were leaving their homes. "So, yeah, we don't have to worry about the evac."
"With that settled, how are you going to find drift compatible pilots?" Spider-Man asked the three femme scientists.
"Well, we did some testing." Foxtrot answers to Spider-Man as she shows them the data. "The only ones that have the closest drift compatibility are Owen Grady and Marco Kingbird."
This surprised the group when Foxtrot mentioned Owen and Marco. She then continues by showing them their charts of their brainwaves and levels.
"We run the simulation multiple times, and so far, only Owen and Marco are capable of using the Jaegers." Diamond Silk explains but looks at the big mech suit with a worried expression. "Although…even if they are capable, we have yet to fully test the Jaeger's capability. We are not even sure how long it will last."
"Well, we better test sooner than later, who knows when these MUTOs and Godzilla will strike." Dark said to the group.
While they continue to discuss the Jaeger, Val was outside of the meeting room with Celestia. Both were sitting on the grassy field, watching their Predacon friends relaxing about their island. It was a calming sight. However, something made Val uneasy. She couldn't forget that strange sound she heard from that female MUTO. It sounded like…she was searching for something, a place that was safe…a place that no one knows about. Yet she wasn't sure.
"Valentina?" A gentle voice came.
Looking up, Val saw the leader of the Predacons, Saphira, looking at her worriedly. "Are you alright?"
Val responded with a nod, "I am. Though…I can't stop thinking about that alien Kaiju."
"You mean the MUTO? The others are still discussing it." Saphira said, sitting down next to her. "It seems that those two Kaijus are going to reproduce."
"Reproduce? Like they're going to start a family?"
"Yes, although, it seems like reproducing here is a bad idea for they would break the natural order of Earth." Saphira said while Val nodded her head, not saying a word. Saphira notices her silence and asks. "Is something in your mind, Valentina?"
Val responded with a shrug. "I…I don't know…it has something to do with the MUTO…"
Saphira tilts her head. "Oh? Why is that?"
"Is just…she was…looking for something…a place actually…"
"A place?"
Val nodded, hugging Celestia. "She was looking for a home to raise her babies…but…I don't know…I just…felt a connection with her, like how I connect with you, the predacons, and the dinosaurs!" She said the last part cheerfully.
Saphira smiles at her gently, caressing Val's face with her claw. "I see, did you tell your uncle about this?"
Val shook her head. "Not yet, I don't know for sure if I was hearing right."
"Well, just do what you always do." Saphira said to her kindly. "Follow your heart."
Val smiles before it vanishes when the alarms start blaring. Catching everyone off guard. Inside the ship, they show the image of military personnel heading to San Francisco Bay. They also received news from the feedback from the USS Saratoga that they were planning to kill both the MUTOs and Godzilla by rigging a nuclear warhead with a shielded timer that they will put on a boat and send it 20 miles out, and would emit radiation that will lure the MUTOs and Godzilla to the open water, where they detonate it with minimal fallout risk to the city.
"Wait, don't those things feed on radiation?" White Tiger asked, looking at the video feed.
"Yup, but knowing humans, their only solution in taking down their opponents is by using a bigass bomb." Dark said while rolling her eyes.
"It's not gonna work." Devlin said, sitting on Chopper's shoulder.
All eyes were on Devlin, who was looking at the screen, "What do you mean?" Asked Owen.
Devlin rested her arm on Chopper's head, who didn't mind, as she used her free hand to gesture the plan of the military. "The sheer force of the blast cannot kill them, stun them yes, but killing them… not a chance."
"Wait, you've seen this before?" Spider-Man asked in shock.
"Not me, but my grandmother did." Devlin answered casually. "She witnessed it beforehand when she was spying on the US Military when attempted to bomb Godzilla in 1954 during the nuclear bomb testing at Bikini Atoll."
"Dr. Serizawa mentioned this before when we were in Saratoga." Spider-Man said, "They were trying to kill it."
"Yeah, but it didn't work, their bomb didn't kill Godzilla." Devlin explains before looking at them with a serious gaze. "It only makes him stronger."
Now they know that using nuclear bombs will be useless. It doesn't slow down those Titans, it would only make them stronger.
"Let me get this straight…" Owen rubbed his forehead. "No matter what bombs or missiles the military use, it would be useless against the Kaijus?"
"Oh, yes, the only way to take down a Kaiju is another Kaiju, and similar energy they use in battle." Devlin answers casually. "After all, only a monster can defeat a monster."
Owen, getting a bit frustrated, knows that if they don't do something fast, the people of San Francisco will suffer a heavy attack. They have to use the Jaeger, even if it was a risk for both Owen and Marco.
"Where's Marco?" Owen suddenly asked, looking at the group.
Everyone was confused by this and Dark responded. "He's heading to San Francisco to help someone named Ford Brody to get his family out of the city."
"Great, ready the groundbridge to pick up Marco, and prepare the Gipsy Danger." Owen said.
Everyone looked at Owen as if has grown a second head. Gipsy Danger has yet to be tested. It would risk damaging him and Marco.
"Are you insane!?" Foxtrot yelled at him. "We're still running diagnostics and we haven't even Beta tested yet!"
"Well, we can tested in the field, if those MUTOs start reproducing, it's game over." Owen said in a serious look. "I get that you guys haven't tested that Jaeger, but we need it now more than ever."
The three femme scientists were unsure if it was possible to do so. They have yet tested the Jaeger's full possibility, and found out any flaws in their designs. However, upon looking at the news feed of the MUTOs rampaging with Godzilla chasing after them…they have to do this, now or never.
"We'll get the groundbridge ready." Foxtrot said to her team. "Dark Twilight, help Grady with the Drivesuits, it is time to test the Jaeger."
There was a rapid knocking on someone's door, followed by the voice of Marco Kingbird.
"Mrs. Brody? Elle Brody? Are you home? It's urgent! It's about your husband."
The woman named Elle Brody came over to the door, opening it to reveal Marco and her father-in-law, Joe Brody, and notices that he was all bandaged up.
"Joe! Oh my god! What happened to you?!" Elle asked in alarm.
"I'll explain everything soon, Elle. But right now, we need to get you and Sam out of here." Joe said to Elle in alarm.
Elle's eyes widened in horror. "Wait…those things in the news…they're coming aren't they?!"
Marco nodded his head. "Yes, and we're evacuating everyone out of the neighborhood along with the city." Marco said to Elle.
Elle looked at Marco with confusion and surprise. "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"My name is Marco Kingbird, I'm associated with your husband, Ford Brody." Marco said to Elle calmly.
Elle gasped lightly. "Where is he? Is he okay?"
"Yes, he went to the military squadron to stop the creatures from coming. He asked me to get his father and his family out of the city and to the refugee island." Marco answered to Elle.
"Oh, thank god. Do you know if he's going to call?" Elle asked worriedly. "I couldn't reach him all day."
"I have a communicator that could reach him. Don't worry." Marco assures, "But right now, you need to pack the things you need and get the hell out of here, we don't know when those things will come."
"What about the people in the hospital? The schools?"
"Don't worry, Trinity Industry deployed soldiers for everyone." Marco assures her. "They're leaving safely as we speak."
Elle was relieved to hear that. "Thank you…"
Just then, her son, Sam Brody, came running in. "Mommy! Mommy! There's dinosaurs showing on TV!" He then stopped when he saw Marco and Joe. "Oh…"
Elle kneels down beside him. "Sam, this is Marco, a friend of daddy, and grandpa Joe. They're gonna take us to a fun place."
Sam, being young and naïve, became excited, "Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise." Joe said, getting down on one knee, ignoring the pain, and smiled at his grandson. "But it's gonna be fun! You can bring your toys."
"Will daddy be there?" Sam asked curiously.
Joe and Elle were unsure how to respond to this. But Marco was prepared for this. "Yes, he will join in soon, but it's a surprise. Why don't you and your grandpa pack some toys and snacks for the trip, okay?"
Sam, not seeing the worried looks from both his mom and grandpa, nodded his head enthusiastically, "Okay! Come on, grandpa!"
"I'll be there in a second!" Joe said kindly to his grandson, who ran to his room to bring his toys, before he turned to Marco and his daughter-in-law. "Pack what you need, I'll pack Sam's clothes. There's a jet waiting for us outside."
Elle nodded her head. "Okay, thank you, Joe."
Joe smiles before going to Sam when the little boy calls out to his grandpa to help him pack his t-rex toy. Elle sighs before turning to Marco with a worried look.
"Will Ford be okay? I'm worried about him and those things…"
Marco assures Elle by placing a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, he's gonna be okay, don't worry."
Elle responded with a nod and left to her room to get her things. While they were busy, Marco received a message to return back to base, saying that they needed him to be the second pilot for the Jaeger. Marco knew this day would come, and he was ready for this. He contacted one of Stefano's clones, who came over in a flash, and instructed them about the Ford Family's safety. As he does so, Elle, Joe, and Sam come with bags ready. They notice Stefano's clone was with Marco.
"Um…who is this?" Elle asked.
Marco introduces them to the clone. "This is North, he will take you to a safe zone, I have to head back to my group." He took out a communicator and gave it to Elle. "This will allow you to contact your husband, he will receive one on his destination."
"Where is he anyway?" Elle asked, holding the communicator with her dear life.
"Last I heard, he was heading to Lone Pine, California." Marco said before heading to the door. "Just stay close and listen to North! He'll instruct you when you reach the refugee island!"
Marco runs off to a certain location while North escorts Elle, Joe, and Sam to the awaiting jet. They got inside and straps on, Elle had to double secure Sam since he was still young. North readies the jet and takes it off, followed by other jets the follow suit, after retrieving other residents from their homes and to the refugee island. While in the air, Sam was amazed at how they were, unaware that both Elle and Joe were worried about Ford. Hoping that he was alright. As they worried for Ford, they also began to wonder about Marco. Questioning about who he was or where he was going. They were curious if Marco was a secret agent of some kind.
"Mommy! We're so high up!" Sam said to his mom cheerfully, not aware of her and his grandpa's worried expression.
Elle gave her son a gentle smile. "Yes, we're very high up." She said, trying her best not to sound so sad. Yet her heart still worries for her husband.
"Hey, don't worry, Ford is strong. He can get through it, I know he can." Joe assures his daughter-in-law.
Elle smiles at him slightly before nodding her head as she distracted herself by keeping her son company. Praying that her husband will be alright.
Meanwhile, Marco returns to Isola Della Vita via groundbridge. He and Owen met up in the facility. The two greeted each other with a nod before going to a big room where they suited up in their Drivesuits. Dark and the clones work together to secure the Drivesuits of both Owen and Marco. Two clones put Spinal Clamps on to the back of their armors, automatically locking in place. Once the spines were set, the two males put on their helmets while the Data Relay Gel dispersed in the circuitry of the suits. The two males nodded at each other as they entered through a huge metallic door where the cockpit of the Jaeger or better yet the Conn-Pod, the control center of the Jaeger.
Both Owen and Marco strapped themselves on the two machines that helped them connect with the Jaeger. In the command center were their friends and the kids. Val, Celestia, Aggie, and Quinn were worried for their guardians, hoping that they could survive the testing. Yunna was overseeing the operation through the controls. Checking their vitals, brainwaves, heartbeats, and their bodies. Making sure there was no damage in their system.
"How's it looking, Yunna?" Foxtrot questions her apprentice.
"So far so good, their bodies are adjusting to the systems." Yunna answered to her mentor.
"Get ready to drop." Foxtrot ordered.
"Understood, engaging drop." Yunna said, pressing buttons on the holographic screen.
The conn pod's door locked and secured as Owen and Marco braced themselves as they were dropped down. Turns out, they were inside the head of the Gipsy Danger, being dropped onto the body of the Jaeger. Locking it into place.
"Coupling confirmed, Ma'am." Yunna said to Foxtrot.
"Engage pilot-to-pilot protocol." Foxtrot instructed.
"Hai. Engaging now."
The Gipsy Danger's AI responded to the command. -Pilot-to-pilot connection protocol sequence.-
The Gipsy Danger was locked and loaded as its reactor glowed when activated. Lights began to glow as the platforms started to move away from the Jaeger and the wires connected to it detached themselves. Marco pressed some buttons on the controls of the Jaeger and informed the control room that their system is a go.
"Grady, Kingbird, this is Foxtrot." Foxtrot said through the communicator. "We're going to start a neural handshake."
"We're ready, Foxtrot." Owen said to her.
"Ready as we ever be." Marco added, shaking his hands.
"Remember, once you enter the Drift, don't chase the rabbit. Random access brain impulse triggers memories. Just let them flow, don't latch on, tune them out, and stay in the Drift."
"You got it, Foxtrot." Owen answered as he and Marco readied themselves.
Foxtrot nodded and commanded. "Prepare for the neural handshake."
Yunna nodded and pressed some buttons. "Hai! Neural handshake starting in 15 seconds."
As Yunna prepared the countdown, Marco turned towards Owen with a slight amusement.
"Ready to step into my head, Owen?"
Owen snorts at this failed attempt joke. "Please, after you. Age before beauty, Marc."
-Pilot-To-Pilot connection protocol sequence…- The AI announced as Yunna finished the countdown. -Neural handshake initiated.-
The two men suddenly freeze as their minds meld through the flashes of their memories of their pasts. They both saw themselves reliving their past. They saw little Owen with his older brother Oscar, playing in the park with their parents watching from afar with smiles on their faces. Then there was a memory of young Marco being abused by his alcoholic father for no reason and his drug addicted mother refuses to help. Another memory flash of Owen with his brother and mother at the funeral home of his father's where he died of cancer, followed by a memory of Marco killing his abusive father with a kitchen knife, before burning his house with his drug addicted mother trapped inside.
Both of their past memories were giving them trouble to stay synchronized with the Jaeger, showing different sides of their stories. Owen being taken care of by his older brother and mother while Marco was being raised by assassins to be a killer.
Everyone worried that it wasn't going to work. However, the memories began showing how they both took roles of parenthood in taking care of their children. Owen protecting Val and Marco protecting Quinn. And how they work together to create their bond of their brotherhood. With that, their mind melding began to adjust and become one with the body of a giant machine. Proving that the deeper the bond, the better they fight. And that it all takes for Owen and Marco to complete. As both men grin at their success.
"Neural handshake strong and holding." Yunna announced with a wide smile. "They did it!"
There was a small cheer from the command room before silencing when Foxtrot gave a small order to Owen and Marco.
"Okay, now let's see if you both can move the Jaeger."
Both men were perfectly in sync as they easily lifted their arms and the Gipsy Danger's massive arms followed their movements.
"Right hemisphere is calibrated." Marco announced.
"Left hemisphere calibrating." Owen added.
Then they slammed their fists to the palms of their hands, and the Gypsy Danger followed suit. Dark grins at the sight, knowing that they have a fighting chance.
"Alright, gentlemen, ready to kick some Kaiju ass?" She asked them from the communicator.
In response to her questions, both men work together to lift the Gipsy Danger's right arm to do fist pump in the air. Both ready for battle.
