Okay, guys, had the opportunity to watch the latest episode of TO yesterday (I had taped it because I wasn't home), and I was angered by it! Now that I'm somewhat calm now, I'm going to do a one shot for "Eternal Flame," since I haven't updated it in quite a while. KEEP THE KLAROLINE FAITH, GUYS!
TO 1x14 AU.
I wished upon a star tonight
That you will grant my wish tonight
And take me to the one in my imagination
I wish I may, I wish i might
Have a wish I wish tonight
Take me to the one in my imagination
Caroline didn't know exactly what to expect as she walked into the compound. She had received a call from Klaus' brother, Elijah, informing her that her presence was required immediately and to not ask questions. What the hell did that all mean? And why was she being summoned by Klaus' brother? Although she didn't exactly being kept in the dark about certain things, she decided to do as Elijah asked and had arrived in New Orleans, where she had been picked up in a limo, which had brought her to the Quarter, to the stately compound she was just now walking into.
Once she arrived, Elijah came toward her, a look of pure concern on his face. "I do apologize for the inconvenience, Caroline, but I could not think of anyone else to call."
Caroline raised a curious eyebrow at the well dressed Mikaelson brother. "It would help if I knew just why you called me, Elijah. The only thing you really told me on the phone was that it was an emergency and that my presence was needed immediately. What happened?"
Elijah nodded, knowing that he couldn't keep her in the dark any longer. "It'll probably be best if I showed you." He offered her his arm. "Come, I shall take you to Niklaus' room."
Caroline still didn't know what was going on, but she took Elijah's arm anyway, leaving her luggage where it was. What was going on here? And what the hell had happened to Klaus? She got her answer when they arrived at Klaus' room and she saw him on the bed, shirtless and out cold, as though someone or something had put him in a comatose state.
Leaving Elijah's side, Caroline rushed to the bed and the second she saw the scar on his belly, she gasped and immediately turned toward Elijah, who was standing in the doorway. "What the hell did you do to him, Elijah? Why is there a scar on his belly? It sure as hell wasn't there when I last saw him! Tell me right now!"
"Caroline..."
"Don't you 'Caroline' me, mister," she said, cutting him off. "What the hell did you do to your brother?"
"Niklaus was captured and tortured by a witch," said Elijah. "The scar on his belly is from a dagger that was placed inside him. I found him at the Fleur de Lis Hospital on the outskirts of the city, where he was about to attack Rebekah. I...I had no choice but to place that dagger into him to stop him from going through with it."
Caroline felt her eyes go wide. A witch had tortured him? Shit, no wonder he had said he was dealing with something dangerous when they had spoken on the phone shortly after he returned to New Orleans. No matter, she was going to help him, and she didn't care what she had to do.
"Elijah, I know that it's not exactly safe for me to be here, but I'm going to help Klaus. Obviously, he needs me, or you wouldn't have called and told me to come." She looked toward Klaus again. "I don't know what I can do, but I'm going to try."
"Thank you, Caroline," said Elijah. "You have no idea how grateful I am for your assistance. Niklaus obviously holds you in high regard, and I know that I wasn't wrong in summoning you."
Caroline nodded and, after Elijah left the room, she grabbed one of the wet cloths from the basin on the bedside table, wringing it out slightly before placing it on his head. No sooner did she do so than she heard a moan and looked to see that Klaus was indeed waking up, having detected her scent. He slowly opened his eyes and saw her standing there.
"Caroline?"
Caroline smiled and placed her index finger on her lips. "Shhhh. It's okay now, it's me."
"What...What are you doing here?"
"Elijah called me and told me that you needed me," said Caroline. "Of course, he wasn't very specific about what I was needed for, only that he'd tell me when I got here. Well, after I got here, he...told me about what you went through today."
"It was pure hell," said Klaus. "Something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy."
"Well, it's over now," said Caroline. "At least, for the time being." She looked at the scar on his belly. "That definitely looks bad. I know that Elijah did that to protect Rebekah, but..." She saw the look in his eyes when she mentioned his sister. "Right, I probably shouldn't mention her, should I?"
"My sister is the least of my worries at the moment," said Klaus. "The most important thing is to take down the witches who did this to me."
"And you'll have the opportunity to do that once you're better," said Caroline. "For now, just...try to rest, okay? I'm here with you, and I'm not going to let you go through this alone. You need all the help you can get."
"It could be dangerous."
"You think I give a shit about that?" said Caroline. "Klaus, I realize that it could be dangerous, but it's not going to stop me from helping the Original hybrid that showed me just how beautiful love can be." She kissed him gently. "We're in this together, and there's no way I'm leaving your side."
Klaus smiled and returned her kiss. He was glad that she was here, and he was going to make sure he did his damndest to protect her.
Note: Yeah, I was disgusted by this week's episode of TO, and I just had to do a one shot. Enjoy, lovelies, and keep the Klaroline faith!
