This is a request I received from Bonnie and Clyde fan 9-22-11, which is also based on the season finale of TO, but instead of the ending, like the previous one, this is going to be based on the search for baby Hope after the witches took her. Enjoy, lovelies! As always, keep the faith!
TO 1x22 AU. Cemetery Scene.
These words are my own
From my heart flow
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
There's no other way
To better say
I love you, I love you...
There was so much tension flowing between Klaus and Elijah that Caroline could cut through it with a knife. It had been less than an hour since the baby was delivered and taken by the witches shortly thereafter, and the blonde vampire and the two Originals were searching through the cemetery for her, hoping to get to her before anything could happen. If these two don't kill each other in the meantime, she thought.
She then heard the two of them arguing and decided to step in. "Guys, stop it! This is no time to be fighting! We have a baby to save, in case you haven't noticed!"
Klaus nodded, agreeing with her. "You're right, this is no time to be quarreling. My daughter is in danger and having petty arguments amongst ourselves isn't going to save her." He looked at Elijah. "Brother, I know that you are angry at me because of what happened to Hayley, but we can't let that stand in the way of what is important."
Elijah looked from Klaus to Caroline and sighed heavily. As reluctant as he was to agree, he knew that Caroline was right. The fate of that precious baby was more important than some family drama. "As much as I hate to admit it, Caroline does have a valid point. The welfare of that child does take precedent over any squabbles we may be having at the moment."
Klaus nodded and, knowing time was of the essence if they wanted to prevent the witches from sacrificing the baby, took off through the cemetery, Caroline and Elijah following after him. They took off through every inch of the grounds. Finally, Caroline's advanced hearing alerted her to the sound of chanting, as well as the sound of a baby crying. Shit, the witches were beginning their ritual already.
"I can hear them chanting already."
"As can I," said Klaus. "That can only mean one thing. We have to hurry if we want to save the child."
Caroline and Elijah nodded and they followed the sound of the chanting until they got to the center of the cemetery, where Genevieve and her witches were indeed beginning their ritual. The three vampires charged in to stop it, and the witches counterattacked by sending the spirits of those that died weeks ago after them. Fortunately, Klaus, Elijah, and Caroline were able to fend them off. Caroline then saw that Genevieve was holding the dagger over the baby.
"You bitch!" she growled. "There's no way in hell I'm letting you harm that child!"
Bearing her fangs, Caroline charged toward the redheaded witch, knocking her to the ground and catching the dagger before it fell on top of the baby, aiming the blade at Genevieve as soon as she caught it, intending to stab her with it. Sensing another presence, she looked over to see Marcel, who picked up the baby and blurred away before the blonde vampire could utter so much as a sound. Elijah saw him leave and approached Caroline, who was still holding the dagger above her target.
"I'll deal with her," he said. "You and Niklaus go after Marcellus."
Caroline wanted to protest, but knew that it wouldn't do her any good, so she handed him the dagger and went over to Klaus, after which they blurred out of the cemetery to follow Marcel and the baby, leaving Elijah to deal with Genevieve, since he obviously had a bone or two to pick with her.
The Compound – Later...
The signs of a struggle were evident as Klaus and Caroline arrived at the compound. As they walked in, they saw that there was indeed a great victory that was won here, courtesy of Elijah, of course. However, surveying the spoils of an apparent struggle weren't what brought them here. No, they were here because this was where Marcel's scent led them, as well as the scent of the newborn he had brought here with him. They found him in the middle of the compound, sitting near a corpse and holding the baby in his arms. When he sensed them approach him, he looked up at them, a solemn look on his face.
"I lost a lot of my guys today," he said. "Though, it wasn't entirely because of you. The witches had a hand in this as well."
"We know," said Caroline. "They'll stop at nothing to make sure that we're all destroyed." She looked down at the bundle in his arms. "But, you saved Klaus' child and for that, we're grateful." She knelt down before him. "May I?"
Marcel slowly nodded and handed the baby over to Caroline, who slowly stood up and walked over to Klaus, who smiled at the bundle in her arms. Even though they hadn't exactly had the perfect relationship, he was grateful to Marcel for his quickness. If it hadn't been for him, it was most likely that the child would have been sacrificed.
Note: Yeah, I'll end here because I don't want to sound redundant. This is Part 2 of the "Klaroline-ified" version of the TO season finale. The title is "Saving Hope." Most of you will recognize it as being the title of a now canceled medical drama that Daniel Gillies (Elijah) starred in. Don't ask how I thought of it, it just seemed appropriate.
ENJOY AND REMEMBER TO KEEP THE FAITH!
